This post should be written... reflects a lot of areas in what BTC is facing .... imho I think the bullish factors might be stronger, but this wel written post shows a lot of interesting stuff we should read about DYOR

thx for this amazing analyses by theymos ...

Very nice indeed.

I would love such games, and subsequent discussions, to stay in the WO.

Anyone following the bet between he and "Dave the Wave" on Twitter?  Dave is MUCH more conservative and I think his dominant long term model is more of a softening parabola, and frankly I think according to his tea leaves we may have already peaked in this "cycle".  He and PlanB have some bet revolving around 100k or not, I think.

Masterluc just said 37000 which means we're going in the opposite direction, LOL.
Yeah, I saw Vanga's recent post on VK, but for now PentarUhdi is silent on TW. Masterluc's short term predictions have always been less than super-accurate, but there is a growing choir of 30k'ers and even 20k'ers. Apart from the soloist Proudhon, I mean.

I hope their forecasts melt like an ice cube in the Sahara within a few weeks. I'm no TA wizard, but my SOMA system refuses to believe those eager buyers won't make a feast long before 40k. The simplistic view I hold is that to bring the price down there must be corn sold at that low price.

How many coins do they have to burn? I would gladly help them out for what I can, and buy at 20k-30k even right now, if it's OK with them.

The choir might stop, but I'm betting the soloist will keep singing with that beautiful voice we know.

I still get the sense that your "gut feelings" were likely just coincidences

That's the essence of SOMA!

I am not aspiring to, or asking for, soothsayer status. Some of my gut feelings must necessarily solidify into reality, or they could be used as an inverse predictor - which would in turn grant me soothsayer status, albeit with a negative correlation coefficient.

That's why I first felt a pump for bull ants to ~70+k (around 72, I think I said), then when the pump wouldn't come, started worrying about bearwhale activity intended to suppress my totally legit expectation. A broken clock twice a day, like. No?

El duderino's games are the hottest spice in the WO.
Thank you dude!
925  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Free-Roll "Speculation" BTC-price guess !!! Summer price guess... on: May 13, 2021, 06:29:19 PM
73155

Reason: my totally SOMA scenario is that 72k will be broken in late May/early June. The bearwhales are pushing down ATM, but they won't be able to go much below 50k for any significant length of time.

There will be consolidation and sideways until August. So my guess is that price will stay in the 72k neighborhood for about 3 months. In September there will be firework set up, and who knows where we will be by year's end?
926  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 13, 2021, 12:52:02 PM

Not ....?? Saylor as a sailing boat as a boat with a cape.... the Hero/Captain always got his cape

He missed the rock bottom though. But I'm not really sure how many coins were available down there. My SOMA system says we close the day over 50k.

1. "Could 1b USDT 'fix' the daily RSI?"
2. "Over how many days should this money be spread upon?"
3. "How many coins would someone have to sell to push the price down to 50k?".

My trusted analyst qualitatively hinted that I have too much focus on the short term.
Falling for FOMO am I? Where Lambo? Sh**, I should have bought doge...  Embarrassed

Don't say those kinds of things.

Signs that you are breaking, and our current BTC price predicament surely does not seem to be nearly as "bad" as you seem to be making it out to be.

My questions were looking ahead to an event similar to what we just had. I smelled a bit of bear hyperactivity, and I was guessing someone wasn't happy with the quantity and price of the cheep coinz they got.

I think Elon twatting was just the pretext for a bunch of mid-sized bearwhales to strike. I was trying to assay the average bear size in that particular bunch, and the quantity of cheep coinz that could be bought by the freshly minted tether, and approximately how fast would the (daily, weekly) RSI move as a consequence.

I am not breaking. I never owned a doge btw ;-)
928  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 13, 2021, 01:17:14 AM
My stance is: Today's move is artificial. It has nothing to do with the physics of market forces and lots to do with the quantum mechanics of a few entities interacting on a high level of power/funding.

Remember me asking "How much would it cost to take the price down to 50k?" ?
I was trying to gauge the minimum required size for an entity that could pull off something like the stunt we just saw.

Congrats to a new legend - Phil_S!
Well deserved IMO.
I haven't been able to contribute much, but now I'm clapping my hands from the sidelines :-)

Fine at 9xx? No effing way. It's just like the corn being fine at 1x,xxx.

My sense of smell hasn't failed me yet.

Doing my daily look at the mempool and the damn thing is near empty. 1 sat fees are now being processed now, so a great time to make some transactions.

Curious about ETH strength of late, I take a look at their mempool. Full, massivily full, and has been since the start of this year. Of course high fees are the norm but I think what this also says is that there is a tonne of consistant demand out there on their network, BTC looks like a ghost town in comparison. Now I realise this is because their network is clogged up with all sorts of silly shit (and BTC hash has increased), but if this demand is maintained (and I'm sure no one here wants to hear this), we have to consider the very likely possibility that ETH will eventually beat out BTC for the number one spot.

Yes ETH is a centralized shitcoin and a mess in so many ways, but nobody seems to care about that. The attitude is "well they'll solve all those problems with future updates". Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Either way I don't think it matters. ETH has their network effect, just like BTC does, there will be no ETH killer, but with all the extra shit that is flooding their network as time goes on, how could it not beat BTC, the digital gold that everyone just hodls but doesn't do much else with.

I won't be investing in it, but also don't want to be disappointed when (if) it does unseat BTC. I don't think it will be able to take BTC place this cycle either, but next on, maybe.

I hope I am wrong.
I hope and think you are. Technically, Bitcoin is superior. Eth is a clusterfuck of gas, pre-mine and upcoming PoS (no, that doesn't mean piece of sh**, although it might be construed to). Bitcoin is getting taproot and rootstock. There are already the first attempts of sidechains for DeFi, for those who want to do that. Eth might get to 10k all right. I want to see where btc will be when/if that happens.

Honey badger really doesn't give AF.

If any of you are not in US and some other countries (OK for EU), and can invest 200K euro (for 2000TH), consider this:
https://stokr.io/blockstream-mining/pitch
Nice graphs are presented, but there is a catch-you only get ALL your mined btc in 3 years.
It does not seem too many takers 6 days from conclusion.
I guess getting in all at the end is a bit weird.

Minimum 200k, and qualified investor status.

If they really wanted to involve more people, they'd lower the minimum stake significantly. 200k locked for 3 years doesn't sound a super exciting prospect. Insurance for the winter, possibly? At 200k a pop it's still not attractive as a lambo with the customary complement.
934  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 11, 2021, 12:49:03 AM
OK, enough banter for now. Let's talk some business.

The sentiment is that badger is coiling, ready to jump at that delicious hive that looks full of honey up that tree.

I have a fixation with "macro" numbers right now: questions such as the following.

1. "Could 1b USDT 'fix' the daily RSI?"
2. "Over how many days should this money be spread upon?"
3. "How many coins would someone have to sell to push the price down to 50k?".

The reason for this fixation is that I think these instadumps are just whales maneuvering. They want to sweep the leveraged longs so they profit moar with the impending leg up. I'm thinking of a smallish leg, not a 2x. Something around 70k.

My point of view at the moment is all qualitative feeling: there's no serious analysis behind it. Some guy whose analysis I trust said it looks to be floating upwards, but there won't be a real breakout as long as the daily RSI doesn't break out of a downward channel entered in January. Some other guy says it's too expensive and/or risky for any rational actor to bring the price below ~49k: Saylors etc. would swallow the corn in one or two bites.

These "serious" bits of analysis are more quantitative and look better than my qualitative SOMA ramblings. So a few approx numbers from our resident wizards could reinforce my theory or make me throw it away. I know the questions aren't easy, or maybe even interesting enough, but the WO gathers some of the smartest OGs. So - any takers?

Can't he keep this to himself? TMI
Maybe they told him to keep his post average up, or he'll be banned from Facebook?

There are too many retard noobs dabbling in alts. The alt market is getting over heated & a nice, healthy shakeout of everything wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing.

Flush all the weak hands away from everything, scare penny alt chasers away & let King Daddy continue his ascent to $100,000.

Your short post history is pretty much the same. This way, I think you are not going to become very popular here.

Not looking for popularity from an Internet Forum. Only sharing innovative ways to promote Bitcoin to the community via education and ecology.
Take it or leave it. If the innovation is too much for moderators, they can continue deleting  Wink
Anyone else managed to promote Bitcoin on Mothers Day or just me?
I hope that was a long enough comment for you to share knowledge.
