921  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Kraken.com steal nearly $10,000 from me on: May 21, 2016, 11:22:33 PM
Thanks mnightwaffle

I will keep everyone informed day by day until my payment is in my bank, i am only giving it a couple of days before contacting the police for both kraken and paycash. No way i am waiting months like other people have claimed on different forums.

However, i am now met with trolls/kraken pr team on reddit, great.

So far:

DAY 10, STILL NOT RECEIVED FUNDS.

you won't receive the funds during the weekend from ANY bank.... Smiley

also, their payment processor is out of discussion. maybe they didn't even receive the bank wire order for you....

you have a problem with Kraken. I know you are mad but you need to think... Smiley
922  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: May 21, 2016, 01:30:56 PM
I understand that. They will do the same with Bitfinex, Kraken, BTC-e and similar others. Smiley   All these are unlicensed. They have NO responsibility toward to their clients.  I will see the same shits ("plenty of people used XXXXX for years") when one of these will disappear(it will happen for sure). Smiley

Ok, do you still want use them? Great! Do it but don't complain when something bad it's happening with "your" funds.

So what? Who cares? People have to use some exchange, "licensed" or not. Not sure what country you are in, but sounds like you are in the USA and are thinking the rest of the world gives half a fuck about licensed exchanges or not - They don't, and yes, you are correct, it will happen again.

Btw, I'm not whining a bit. I lost nothing in that shit hole, I was just pointing out the fact that you don't need to be a condescending douche to these people here who lost $/coins. Roll Eyes

all the countries request a such financial license for operating as "exchanger". where do you live? Europe, Australia, China even in BVI or any other island  you need license

What I am saying is " when you use an illegal service, you may except that something unpleasant to happen". If you accept this risk, "you" should not come on forums for whining, "scam" Smiley
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin or Ethereum ? on: May 21, 2016, 12:41:21 PM
Bitcoin seems to be the past and Ethereum the future.

The question is : when BTC will worth almost zero? Next year? In 2 years? Smiley
924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How halving will affect big mining companies? on: May 21, 2016, 10:46:20 AM
the miners will mine Ether and others....Bitcoin will lose part of the miners in few months.
925  Economy / Economics / Re: My bank account's got robbed by European Commission. Over 700k is lost. on: May 21, 2016, 10:41:13 AM
I am interested to know about the original poster and what happened for their money?

Not too sure, but most likely still in that lawsuit probably. "Forever pending"

Or either they personally settled with whatever they can get from their lawyer if they did a class action. If the law system sucks then most likely nothing..

it's easy to guess. the depositors of Cyprus Popular Bank (Laiki Bank) lost all their savings – except the government-guaranteed amount of €100,000 – and in the case of Bank of Cyprus of 47% of uninsured deposits. Smiley

This person had the account with Laiki so, he received 100K back from 700K.

what does mean? if you have 700K(like the OP HAD) , it's better to split the money to many banks and to diversify the investments(gold, real estate, small-medium local businesses and so on). you are safe if you have up to 100,000 euro in one bank (in Europe).

From what i know is that the government (at least in most EU countries) guarantee 100k for 1 person. Which means you can split it onto multiple banks but you will only get 100k. So it's better to diversify it this way
Part in gold (in a safe)
Part in stocks
Part in savings
Part in crypto.

No, it's 100,000 EURO per bank not per country because each bank is part of a "guarantee fund".
926  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Kraken.com steal nearly $10,000 from me on: May 20, 2016, 07:29:38 PM
Hi guys thanks a lot for trying to help esp franky i will try those contact numbers

Hopefully i can find a quick solution before dishing out 2k on a flight to their office, i will try these contact numbers and also try messaging on their facebook page but i am not accepting any messages that tell me to 'wait' i have seen some posts on here and other forums where kraken have held on to customers for months telling them to 'wait' any indication of them slowing this down or trying to make me give up i will call the police.

don't spend 2K on tickets because you will find nobody at "office" Smiley  wait until Tuesday. I recommend you to contact them(politely) on Facebook and Tweeter as well. if still no answer, make a complaint with your local police and they will further contact FBI or find a lawyer in San Francisco. it will cost you up to 1000 usd and he will "take care" of them (in a good or bad way). anyway, you will receive your money.

next time, use a licensed exchanger(Circle is financial licensed in European Union).
927  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Kraken.com steal nearly $10,000 from me on: May 20, 2016, 07:17:51 PM
Here's a little more info for you. That phone number resolves to a private residence in a small San Mateo county town called Menlo Park. Menlo Park is a pretty little community. Not many businesses but it has a large residential area with big trees and shitloads of old people. I wouldn't mind living there if it wasn't so far from the action.

seems like another drop box address.

like i said in my first post kraken although being alive for many years, people should not be consider them as a fully established enterprise.. as it definitely doesnt appear to have call centres and what not established banks do..

im not really for the whole freezing accounts due to AMl/KYC regs.. but for consumer protection reasons these "money transmission businesses" should have atleast fixed office with proper staff to qualify to be a MSB..

especially if they are in multi million dollar investment rounds.. im totally shocked they have most of their details forwarded to drop boxes/residential addresses..

shocked?!?! this is what I am saying for years. Smiley  Almost all the exchangers are the same. They don't have a real office. They work from home. It's not something bad but when you are talking about millions like these hipsters are doing, then you can afford a rent for a real office and 1-2 people as customer support, right?

Kraken is not a MSB. It's an outlaw company. Smiley

Kraken and ALL the other exchangers MUST be financial licensed otherwise they have no responsibility toward the clients Smiley

Try to call Itbit, Circle or Coinbase. You will get answer for sure. Why? Because they are licensed as money transmission businesses and this bring a lot of responsibility from their side.

it's so FUNNY ! on a hand, you are asking for freedom, no gov, no rules, decentralized shit and on the other hand you want the authority(gov) to put someone in jail because he ran with Bitcoin.  Grin

why did "you"(those who lost Bitcoin) use an unlicensed exchanger? why didn't use Coinbase, Itbit, Gemeni, Circle(all these are licensed) ?

stop whining on forums after you use shady exchangers. you assumed a risk, this time you lost. that's it. Smiley

Plenty of people used cryptsy for years, there was nothing shady about it until near the end, just like gox. Using every exchange assumes a risk, so just get over your self, ok? Tongue

930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: May 20, 2016, 06:18:13 PM
Future is full light for Bitcoin. It has reached so far and successfully survived through thick and thin. The most important thing which made it where it is today is it was not taken serious competitor.Bitcoin's future now is easy to predict that is very healthy and stable.Just good will happen no doubt anymore.

i hope you are right, because some new altcoin, sometimes make me doubt with future of bitcoin, like ETHERUM now very popular and big market like bitstamp, coinbase now add etherum.

sometimes i think bitoin will be dead after unmineable, because bitcoin not have POS feature for running full nodes, also miner will use his hardwate to mining other cryptocurrency

yes, you are right. other e-currency will arise soon. it was the same with e-gold and others. Bitcoin will continue to worth as long the black market will use it.
931  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: May 20, 2016, 12:55:01 PM
I have several screen shots of my Cryptsy account taken shortly before the the web-sight was taken down (damnit). Is anyone collecting screen shots of accounts to help build up a case. what should I do with my screen shots or am I completely SOL? Right now I am embracing my pissed-off-ness and trying to accept the terms of my losses. In any event Thank you.

Is he finally in jail?
Why do we keep letting these thieves go free?

932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unlicensed Exchangers on: May 19, 2016, 06:48:26 PM
closed by who? if it's not by their local jurisdiction, they cannot be closed by america if you think so, they are out of the law of america

Actually, if you're utilizing a ".com" domain, you're under the jurisdiction of the United States. No matter where you're based.

Just ask Kim DotCom who woke up one morning only to find dozens of US FBI personnel descending from helicopters onto his front lawn (IN NEW ZEALAND) kicking in his doors, seizing his property, businesses and bank accounts... due to internet piracy.

All of this just because his website MegaUpload had a .com at the end of it. Hence why his new website Mega.nz utilizes the .nz extension, thus removing it from the Jurisdiction of the united states.

So yes, each and every one of the aforementioned exchanges are under the jurisdiction of the united states - and if it ever becomes necessary, the owners of these platforms might wake up one day to find their wives and kids hogtied in the living room at the hands of the FBI

very good point and true !

934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange volume distribution. BTC belongs to China on: May 19, 2016, 10:54:30 AM
China is just being to hype for Bitcoin, especially for the halving. This is could be a good thing, and also bad thing if the amount keep increasing.

It's an artificial hype. It's based on false volume and that's why the normal people are staying away for BTC.
935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unlicensed Exchangers on: May 19, 2016, 10:51:46 AM
is btc-e unlicenced really? Maybe in the United States. I don't think they are illegal in Russia. They were there for a long time and i don't think they will ge gone in the next 10 years at least.

yes, they are not licensed anywhere. they claim to be incorporated in Cyprus and according to the Cyprus laws(EU laws), BTC-e must have a financial license. It doesn't matter since they are online.
936  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price? Who is making it? on: May 19, 2016, 10:48:52 AM
No one is making the Bitcoin price is is decided by allot of other things I do not know about. There are some people here on this forum that know precisely how the prise works and stuff.

the exchangers are making the price by using the bots as Mtgox did it in the past. it's so simple Smiley
937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unlicensed Exchangers on: May 18, 2016, 01:28:09 PM
Kraken is an unlicenced exchange??? I don't think so... They have been trying to legalize their activities for quite some time now. I think that they are already licenced in Europe and Japan.
Kraken now already have licensed?that's good news, and i think they are the first exchange that have licensed from Europe and Japan, and i wish many other exchange like coinbase,BTCchina and other will do same way.

Kraken is not licensed anywhere. They are outlaw in USA or other states where they operate.
Kranken is based in California, USA and they are doing financial transactions worldwide. As a reminder, a money transmitter(exchanger) MUST have licenses in all the United States and not only in one .

Example: if you are licensed in New York, you cannot make a financial  business in Florida or Texas without having licenses in Florida and Texas as well.

Only Coinbase and Circle are licensed in all USA. Circle is licensed in EU(European Union) too. Gemini is in New York, ItBit the same. The rest of the exchangers are outlaw.
YES, it's unbelievable but it is true.
938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange volume distribution. BTC belongs to China on: May 18, 2016, 01:10:56 PM
I think it is because of its zero trading fees, as people want to work on those bitcoin trading exchanges where the exchange fees are much lower or they do not have any exchange fees, and the other thing is that the people of China are more interested in bitcoin and they use their country's exchanges so a large number of bitcoin users are there,

In china, the banking institutions are banned from engaging in bitcoin business through banking, as well as servicing or doing business with the bitcoin industry.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2013-12-05/china-s-pboc-bans-financial-companies-from-bitcoin-transactions

in short, the people cannot send or receive money into their bank accounts from and to exchangers.
More than that, all the exchangers are outlaw. They are not financial licensed as the chinese law requests.

The question is : How is it possible for the chinesse exchangers to own over 95% from BTC trades while they cannot deal with local banks? I agree that SOME of their clients may send international bank wires(outside of China) by lying the banks that they are sending the money for buying biscuits...BUT we are talking about +95% from Bitcoin trades not 10 wires Smiley

no, they are not.

also, they are based in USA and they are dealing with US citizens. that means, they MUST have a financial license in each state from USA. they will be shutdown soon. I know it appears almost unbelievable but it will happen if they will not apply for a such license.
940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange volume distribution. BTC belongs to China on: May 17, 2016, 02:57:24 PM
I expect most sites listing bitcoin pricing are perfectly aware of the situation with Chinese exchanges, and handle it in a manner similar to Coinmarketcap.com:
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets

Notice that all the fee-free Chinese exchanges are listed down at the bottom (starting at #87 on the list as of this moment) - and right now, Chinese exchanges are only represented by OKCoin in #4, out of the top 10!
