I don't care about Bitcoin Classic. Bitcoin Core is already a classic! Call it a different name and try to promote it but we won't buy. I'm sticking to my program, never think of changing it.
you will care when your business will be down once Classic will become a reality. then, it will be too late to do something....

mayax like some other people has said, change the tittle, this is nothing but speculative FUD. You don't have conclusive proof of this happening, therefore you aren't doing a good job with such a tittle. Bitcoin Classic will disappear like useless trojan it is, just like XT. The scaling roadmap of the people that actually have talent (Core devs) will continue.
The miners said so. It is NOT my conclusion.

let's not forget that those who support Bitcoin Classic where behind Bitcoin XT. Coinbase &Co(their investors) are behind of this shit. They want more centralization, more control. The small miners will disappear once Bitcoin Classic will be in place. What kind of "decentralization" is that? I would rather use PerfectMoney.com. I know that that it's a centralized e-currency, it has anonymity and that's it...Why should I use Coinbase,Bitstamp(those 2 have the same investors behind), Gavin(works for Coinbase), BTC China (CEO's brother, Charles Lee created Litecoin. He works for Coinbase) and Roger Ver's e-currency? The last one said "I think all the people behind Silk Road are heroes, and the police, who want to lock these people up because they want to put something in their body, are the bad guys." . Tell that to the families of which sons are in coma or dead because of drugs, you moron. These people want to rule the Bitcoin.

i wish gavin would not have lobbied exchanges or miners first. as that is a sign to force it before consensus.. though everyone seems to want 2mb.. and dont want to wait a year for blockstream to move their asses.. there should atleast be a push to get user adoption of the 2mb first.. before forcing it definetly not delaying user adoption either
Gavin works for Coinbase. So, it's a PAID lobby. Coinbase works for investors(we know who they are). The investors wants to recover the investments asap. How can they do that? By having more control over BTC. Let's not forget that the Coinbase's investors are the same as the Bitstamp investors.

Your thread title is misleading and this is FUD. Neither Core nor Classic can deploy their 'solution' within 1-2 months. Both have presented solutions, it is segwit vs 2 MB blocks.
I advise you to change the title.
Please read the article.

Stop the FUD! Core wins or Classic, end users will remain unaffected. Because user's coins will be spendable on both chain. In fact, if both chain can hold the price for some time, users can get double value of their coins.
who said that? ) if would be so easy, the change would have been made by now. Stop the bullshit and go to Coindesk & Co to pay you the "salary" for spreading nonsenses

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin core value? - miners will switch to Bitcoin Classic
|
on: January 23, 2016, 01:13:59 PM

Bitcoin core will disappear in 1-2 months. What will happen with your coins? They will have NO value. The miners and exchangers will make the change overnight. The big miners along with few exchangers (Bitstamp, Coinbase, BTC China, OKcoin = same shit) will switch it to Bitcoin Classic. BitFury CIO Alex Petrov ""If the Bitcoin Core team doesn’t deliver [a solution] in time, we should force the process and that’s why we’re supporting classic. It’s not the best way, it’s painful, but we should do it.""
"It will be not easy to implement, but we can do it one month. This is why we are supporting Bitcoin Classic."

If bitcoin disappears, this means another altcoin took its place. Maybe one of the altcoins nowadays shine enough to overtake bitcoin but we'll never know exactly what.
when e-gold dissapeared, Liberty Reserve took place, when LR disappeared, BTC arose. If BTC will value zero, other e-currency will replace it. The Dark Market needs a payment system.

FYI: BTCe moved to Cyprus a couple years ago.
If they did that, then BTC-e must have a financial license according to EU laws. I am sure they don't have it as many other exchangers. All the exchangers are making millions of USD(or at least this what they say) but when it's about to get a financial license, only 2-3 have it. The question is WHY if they are correct and have nothing to hide. Bitstamp is one of them too. Based in EU, they are dealing with US clients but no license. Kraken in USA and I think they will be raided soon. They are based in USA but no financial license. They are stupids or too arrogant to realize that it's not a joke and that they can stand behind bars for years. A forum or a Coindesk cannot protect you agains FEDs or Police. Yes, yes, many of you will say "don't care" but...make a search and you will find a lot of people in jail because of their arrogance. Also, when Feds or police will raid(it's just a matter of them) one of these big exchanger, BE SURE your funds will be gone(seized). They posed like Bitcoin gods and now they are crying in cells along with a "daddy"

your computer can be hacked and your BTC can be stolen. it happened for so many times. it happened to exchangers (Bitstamp lost 5 millions USD a year ago, right? So, if a company from BTC industry is hacked, which it's supposed to take extra measures but a normal user? it can happen with your debit card BUT you will get the money back. do you notice the difference? the BTC user is not protected against anything. I am not talking about cyber guys, I am talking about the normal Joe

Did it just bottom out at $390? I saw a posting on the wall observer thread and some are posting crying memes It is Friday so am watching the price too closely too and won't all night as it was to depressing at the end of this week already Look at the volume that occurred North of $390 on Stamp, Finex, and look that the volume that has taken BTC back down to here. Volume on break out was much bigger than volume on correction to beneath the break out, right? a) The pump was totally fabricated to begin with repleat with FU moves to shake out longs (I know all about that as my long trade was shaken out the game). b) How many BTC traders so you think bought into BTC merely chasing momentum, are now bag holding and chomping at the bit to get out their trades. I have never seen such a horrible looking BTC 4hr chart in a long time. All that upside, wiped out so quickly, and on so little (USD) volume. Sure, it may well bounce a bit....but just so many market participants right now will be desperate to get out with their shirts on their backs. The big fucking MASSIVE red candle which always dwarves the green candles from the previous move up, is yet to come. Bitstamp and Bitfinex are part of a cartel so....who trust them?!!?! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1205564.0

I have friends working in the News media industry and they all say the same thing. The editor are told what stories they must push in the media. He or she then instructs the journalists and the photographers to go out and gather the data and compile the story. The editor then decide what goes into the news paper and what not.
Most of the time, these people work on strict deadlines to get the story out, before other competitors and they have to cut corners < poor research / poor editing etc. > This means a lot of, let's call it <Junk> articles gets published and if mistakes and errors happens, they usually just keep quite.
This is possibly a <Junk> article or placed there to push a agenda coming from the shareholders.
same thing with Coindesk.com and other BTC media. They have many interests....

The price determination of BTC ain't possible at an exact level, but you can absolutely speculate on that subject... Regarding the points you gave, yes I agree that mining is a "part" of price of BTC, but ain't a complete reason based on which price of BTC should be decided... It's not just about the miners, we are all here as its part and so, everyone decides where the price should be, but it is impossible to predict because many will buy and many will sell, and the stable price you see will be a "break-even" point of their thinking...
"many will buy and many will sell" are you talking about exchangers` robots? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1205564.0

This is the price of decentralization! You don't have someone like government to inject value to create a bubble to achieve stability. Price is forming by demand, and demand is bigger and bigger and will rise at this point. The price is made by the exchangers(their investors). So, it is manipulated. Fake transactions, fake volumes. How can you say that the BTC price is based by demand when the exchangers are separate firms but all of them have ALMOST the same price?!!?!? It's an exchangers` cartel. The BTC price is fake Did you heear for bots and arbitrage trading strategy? Whole system is connected through bots, and when Okcoin starts to fall btc-e start to fall at the same time . did you hear about fake volumes? what arbitrage ? Is this a regulated market to make aribtrage? The exchangers are a joke. A bunch of so called cyber boys(most of them came from ex e-currencies like Liberty Reserve ...See BTC-e. The owners ran an exchanger for LR and many HYIPs too; same for Bitfinex and others. So, chill out with "arbitrage" and other brokerage terms when it's about Bitcoin ) http://www.coindesk.com/chinese-bitcoin-exchange-okcoin-accused-faking-trading-data/http://www.coindesk.com/reality-chinese-trading-volumes/http://www.coindesk.com/the-cftcs-not-so-hidden-message-traders-beware/

That is too bad that he did not mention about how easy it is apparently to hack and steal from bank itself. I found interesting info about this: A hacking ring has stolen up to $1 billion from banks around the world in what would be one of the biggest banking breaches known. The hackers have been active since at least the end of 2013 and infiltrated more than 100 banks in 30 countries, according to Russian security company Kaspersky Lab. More at: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/15/bank-hack_n_6688268.htmlright but you, as customer are protected. show me the BTC protection ! ok. a bank can be hacked, a card can be hacked and you get the money back without any problem. it didn't happen and it WON'T happen with Bitcoin
