921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Investment for 1 year on: July 14, 2018, 10:51:00 PM
Coins make at least 5x a year later. You will win when we are patient. Remember previous years. Take lessons from them. We will absolutely win.
That happened when we were in the middle of a bull market now that is not the case getting 5x out of your coins is going to be very difficult even if you hold your coins for the long term, so now you need to be more careful when you invest, it is very easy to look like you are some kind of financial genius when all the market is going up but it is in circumstances like the ones we found ourselves to be in which the true traders and investors really shine.
922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins future on: July 14, 2018, 10:36:38 PM
What do you think about alts future? I strongly believe in Eth , because it provides solutions to different problems. Others only copy eth’s idea in order to raise some money. We don’t need 2000+ alts, just 10 and it will be enough. What u think?

I agree with you that we need to clean all unnecessary coins, which very much spoil the reputation of the crypto currency. I believe there should be a body or exchange that can regulate their entry into the ICO/ China market correctly that has banned these fraudulent schemes.

There will not be so many coins if people accepted the fact there is only one bitcoin, everyone is looking for the next bitcoin when I am not sure that any of the coins present in the market right now can surpass it, after all how are they going to surpass bitcoin when they are using the same technology behind bitcoin? Because even if many coins claim to be better than bitcoin that is not the case.
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why every coin dumping now? I am losing huge money on: July 14, 2018, 10:15:45 PM
In times like that simply sell your portfolios and buy USD tether which usually fluctuates very little then when everything starts going green, you can buy your portfolios back and still make some cool profit.I also lost a lot of money from the dump.Gradually prices are recovering now.
There is no point in doing that anymore we have reached the bottom already, you are only going to lose money if you do that, the maneuver that you are describing should be done before the price crashes or before the crash has reached a considerable size if you did that you could buy all your portfolio for a discount and still have money left over to invest in more coins or to buy something nice.
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Most ICO don't show the investment wallet address? on: July 13, 2018, 03:34:36 AM
Token startups need to start being accountable for the fundraising they have completed, and this starts with providing token investors more clarity into finances at any given time. None of us want to be holding on to the next Enron, Worldcom, or Madoff. How do we prevent that? Self-regulation and standardized due diligence is a start.

Self regulation is not going to work, the icos had a chance to do that for years and this is precisely why we are in the situation we found ourselves immersed, in my opinion the people are the ones that need to change their habits, we need to start demanding this kind of stuff and the ico that does not comply will not get an investment out of us, if enough people do this icos will begin to show this information.
925  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ICO categories. Best investment. on: July 13, 2018, 02:13:35 AM
Very nice compilation OP, you made a great job, it will be interesting to know how many of those exchanges at the very top were decentralized exchanges, because I have always thought decentralized exchanges are the next big thing but I did not had the data to prove it and it seems you already made all the job for me, but you do not give information about the coins you selected to create those statistics.
926  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dangerous price area on: July 13, 2018, 01:43:05 AM
Bitcoin is in bearish trend for quite some time now and probably because of the cartels trying to bring down the price through price manipulation and cause panic to traders to sell or convert. The current price is 6495 dollars may prediction is if it breaks the 6700 threshold will be out of the beatrish loop and the surge will begin.
The trend is not going to change that soon, I really do not think that anyone is trying to keep the price down people are managing just fine by themselves by selling their coins at the first opportunity, and about your prediction, I really do no think that we can say we are out of the bearish trend until bitcoin surpasses 10k every other price is simply too low.
927  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your recommended crypto allocation? on: July 13, 2018, 01:38:04 AM
Actually investing in different kinds of investment is a great thing
becaue you can be able to become flexible and will not depend on the performance of just one investment only.
But is it really worth to invest in so many coins? Most coins move together with bitcoin, if bitcoin skyrockets other coins do the same and when bitcoin crashes the rest of the market follows, if what you are looking is to have good profits but you do not necessary want your investment to skyrocket you could invest everything in bitcoin and forget about your coins for years until it reaches the price in which you are ready to sell.
928  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning with BTCs? on: July 10, 2018, 10:16:22 PM
Hello, I have about 3 BTCs that I would like to earn a little bit off of...I tried BTCjam and most lenders didnt pay back, so I made negative there..

I dont know trading so I dont know how that would be... any other ideas? Smiley
There are not many ways in which you can multiply your bitcoin since many of the option are scams or do not offer great returns at all, many people recommend trading based on technical analysis but you cannot apply those techniques to most coins and most of the time you are going to lose money in trading, so your best option in my opinion is to just try to get bitcoin through other means and hold your 3 BTC.
929  Economy / Economics / Re: Speculation on BTC on: July 10, 2018, 09:24:22 PM
I was reading the Speculation section from the Economics forum yesterday, and two guys from the BTC Foundation said that 2018 will be the last time that Bitcoin will be under $10,000. I believe that this statement was made to lessen the worry that comes about every time that BTC drops. I don't know how anyone could make that statement in full faith though, as the nature of altcoins is its very volatility. Since it is not tied to normal economic conditions as fiat currency is, I don't quite see where that prediction comes from. The fact that many economies are talking about some type of oversight does show that acceptance is gaining and perhaps is a harbinger of more stable, and higher, prices.
No one can give any guarantees that is just a prediction, and like you I am not sure how truthful it is since I really think the price is going to take a lot of time to recover, maybe they know something we don't like the date of a new development that could push the price even higher than in the past and that could happen in this year, because that is the only way I see bitcoin recovering that quickly.
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about Crypto currency future on: July 10, 2018, 08:46:24 PM
I don't think this is the end of cryptocurrency. I think this is just the beginning. I believe in cryptocurrencies and believe that they will be used around the world and in all spheres of human activity. We just need to wait out these bad times. There's nothing wrong with that, don't worry.
We are in the middle of a very critical point in the history of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, things could go in any direction but in my opinion the most likely outcome is that cryptocurrencies become successful all over the world and people finally recognize this, this is why even if I do not have a lot of coins I am holding them because I think the value of crypto will explode in the next years.
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about Crypto currency future on: July 09, 2018, 10:00:58 PM
If we make cryptocurrencies as main income will certainly make us bored because now the market is red, I suggest to make cryptocurrencies as additional income and long-term investment so we can be patient to wait for the best price.
You can earn money in this market as well, I know that there are a lot of people that only like to go long on cryptocurrencies but you can also short a coin if that is what you are looking for, if you do that then earning money even in this market is possible, when you find out how to short it then you realize that the market is never boring since there are always opportunities to make money.
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Problems: Lack of regulation creates a risky environment. on: July 06, 2018, 11:13:05 PM
One of the large problems of Bitcoin as well as the other value-based blockchain network.
Regulation will kill bitcoin because its main goal - decentralization - will be compromised.
After we hear that this or that country tried to regulate bitcoin its price always goes down - and that's a very bad signal.

Regulation is not going to kill bitcoin what it can kill it is if governments are effective at applying the regulation, as an example in my country we have similar laws like those in most countries against major crimes but the reason criminals do not respect those laws is that almost no one gets caught and sentenced by their actions, so criminals do whatever they want with impunity, if the regulations imposed by governments are not followed and no one is punished those regulations will mean nothing.
933  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to get rid of emotions when trading on: July 06, 2018, 10:55:12 PM
For me it's just impossible, maybe I can just cut a small amount of my negative feeling, but not more...
If it is impossible for you to overcome your emotions when you are trading then it is a good idea that you never become a trader, and if you are, it could be a good idea to leave it, while this may seem like too much for some members of the forum the fact is that the ability to keep your cool under very difficult circumstances is what determines the winners from the losers in most aspects of life.
934  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade or HODL? on: July 06, 2018, 02:41:03 AM
Hi guys, I have a couple of alts in my wallet right now and I want to gain profit.

I want to earn a profit while waiting for a better market value. Should I enter trading(where I don't have an idea on how to and where to start) or should I stick on HODLing my coins?

Looking at the market movement, is it a good time to start trading?

Is it risky or not an ideal move if I start to study trading using some of my holdings/alts?

I am eager to learn how to do trading(short-term or day-trading).

Any thoughts? TIA
Since you are basically confessing you have no idea how to trade then it is very obvious that you need to keep holding, you do not become a trader overnight you need to read several books and watch the markets closely for a lot of time and only until you do that you can begin trading, since you have not done that then you need to keep holding your coins for the short term.
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why every coin dumping now? I am losing huge money on: July 04, 2018, 03:47:04 AM
You won't lose any amount as long as you are holding. Just sinply wait for the price increase again and don't sell any of your coins lower than the price you have bought. If you sell, now that is a lose but if not, you haven't lose anything yet.
This is the easiest way to avoid losses and yet people do not practice it, all of those people that bought at 20k could get their money back if they were just patient, but they are not and they have lost money as a result of their actions, it is not like I do not understand the feelings of panic, when I was just starting out in bitcoin the first time I bought the price went down 20% in the next days and I was worried but I knew why I was here and in the next days the price recovered, on that week I learned a very valuable lesson that is still with me today, do not sell for a loss.
936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins future on: July 04, 2018, 03:16:13 AM
I believe that most alternative coins will be very useful for society. It seems to me that many projects will be implemented in people's lives. I hope that I will live to see it.
There are many coins that are not really necessary but there are about 50 to 100 coins that are real projects that are going to survive and be here no matter what and I have no doubts that some of them are going to become very big in the future, but what it is going to happen to the rest of the coins? The most likely outcome is that the rest of the coins will disappear.
937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Investment for 1 year on: July 04, 2018, 03:05:07 AM
Then I think you must be a little disappointed now because most of the ICO projects get to the market and prices fall so badly and now most of our ICO investors are not happy as they are suppose to be.I think all these are driving new investors always from the industry. I think Icos must change their tactics especially when it comes to listing a coin .
Some of the problems come from the icos themselves, many of the projects are not worth anything and they have very high soft and hard caps that are impossible to reach and if that was not enough now they want to implement KYC policies something in which the majority of users do not agree and when you add the bear market this explains why most coins go down in value after the ico.
938  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: There is no such thing safe trading on: July 04, 2018, 02:44:41 AM
Have you ever heard about test network? Its when you can trade not real money but test money I think this is the only way to trade without any chance of loss.
You can trade with play money all you want but it is not the same, you are never going to experiment the anguish of a trade that turns bad with play money, you will be able to trade as the books instruct you to do it but when you begin to trade with real money you will be unable to control your emotions and if you do not control your emotions this is only going to increase the risk in each one of your trades.
939  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dangerous price area on: July 04, 2018, 02:19:02 AM
Probably just going to hold at this point. I've already cashed out my original investment months ago. Playing with house money now makes me not get shaken during these sell offs. If BTC does in fact go under $6k, I'll just reload the stack
What you did is a way to deal with the risk, I know some people that did the same, they invested and then they withdrew their initial capital and now they are trading with the money they got from their previous investments and while that is very safe at the same time that will not allow you to earn as many profits as someone that leaved his initial capital alone and traded with all of that money.
940  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your recommended crypto allocation? on: July 04, 2018, 02:04:12 AM
Pick the best 50 coins, and put 2% for each. Roughly.
That is terrible advice now you will need to watch 50 different coins and while some expert traders and investors can do that, that is not something your average investor should do, besides if your capital is small most of it is going to be eaten by the fees, if you want to do something like that at most you should invest 10% in 10 different coins.
