...
After running continuously for almost 24 hours, I'm happy to say that everything went well, although initially I had a few crashes (complete crash needing a power cycle) that I suspect was due to high temperatures in the box killing the control unit. I've since placed it somewhere cold, and it has been mining happily since.

Cheers,
John

PS: I'll add stuff to this as I keep on playing with it.
Thank you for the review.

And the amazing thing with SP20:

each of the two PSU draws only 220W on wall! With only 440W I can get 940GH, e.g. 0.47J/GH on Wall. A 20nm very efficient Knc Neptune running 3.3TH at 1900W on wall, that is barely 0.58J/GH. And SP20 at 1.4GH draws around 800W, on par with Neptune, it is definitely a nice choice given the current market price of $659 per unit, very well engineered product!

Thank you for the review.

Overall I'm very pleased with the SP20, a small profile with very reasonable hashrate and powerdraw, while it does require a bit of tinkering to get it working to its best potential, the very clean UI and ease of Over/Underclocking  makes it a very versatile machine. If you have that data center or an isolated basement where noise isn't an issue, overclock away. If you need to keep it close to your habitation areas, you can keep it stock or underclock it to keep the noise and power draw down. I'm glad that I was given an opportunity to test the SP20, and can safely say it is the overall nicest Asic that I have used so far. I am currently considering purchasing another  Grin

If you have any questions at all, I'd be happy to answer.

Thank you for the review.

Thanks guys, but I'm trying to connect this to a workspace network that requires me to add the MAC address of it to work, and I don't see it despite being being connected to the same network. (probably because the router rejects its connection). I tried connecting the LAN cable to my laptop directly, but I can't seem to find it either.... any ideas?

Tried, but it's still not showing up on the myminer.io page. I've bought a router off Amazon with 1 day shipping. Cry

John,

I work somewhere that limits access to the dhcp system via mac addresses, surely there will be logs showing the SP20 trying to connect and being rejected. Unless you don't have access to that system.

The SP20 is setup differently to other miners in that it needs DHCP to get its IP address, some others like the Bitmain kit comes with a preset IP address, which requires a different set of hoops to jump through Smiley

Nah, no access to that. Sad I was wondering if it will give a login page if I manage to find its IP? I found (what I think is) its MAC address using wireshark, and have given it access to the network, but none of the IP's seem to give any access at all to the control interface. myminer.io is empty as always...
Can you get to the Myminer.io page at all or page can't be found? Perhaps you have some web content filtering of proxy action happening at the perimeter.

Yes, I can get to it but the page is empty as usual. (with the title etc in tact of course)

Yes, if you hit the right IP address with a web browser it will prompt you for username/password.

Okay, I'll keep on trying!
And I give up. I'll wait till I get the router tomorrow. Cry
With Wireshark you can find the DHCP discover message the SP20 initiate.
Get the MAC address from it and ask your workplace system admin to configure the DHCP server to give the miner an IP address.

I have 2 SP20s, for one of them I can not acces the settings page anymore,
My router assiged the following ip adresees : 192.168.1.99 and 192.168.1.100
I can access just fine the one ending with 99
But I can not acces the one with 100 anymore saying that the web page is not available when I try accessing it from my browser

Both of them are up and mining, they have the pool settings stored, I just can't access one of them's menu

this are the ip's asigned by the router: http://gyazo.com/1dcfb737298ce594e928aa99131f1dac

Any ideeas? thank you !
Try to access via another laptop/desktop on the same network, browse to http://myminer.io

I did all this, I also assigned another ip, I cleared cache, I tried connecting from another laptop from same network, I even tried from my phone.Nothing seems to work

Please help !

Can anyone from your team give me some support ? maybe connect to me via TeamViewer and help me out ?
Follow the SP20 SD recovery procedure in the technical blog.
If it won't work, contact tech.support@ for diagnostic and RMA if needed.

I don't have an Micro SD card yet, since the SP20 has a USB slot, can it be done with an USD stick as well ?
No.

How does SP20 shipping works?
I got "your item was shipped" note, but no shipment number to follow up.
Does the number comes in a later email?
For SP30 I got the airbill at the same time with shipment notification.
You'll get the AWB in the next 24 hours

Anyone want to see a 360 of the SP20? I've got these in 4k, but I don't think anyone's internet would appreciate 170mb. Hard as hell to balance lighting on a silver, shiny case - and ignore the floor shadows that didn't come out right, I'll remove them at some point.
