i don't seem to find the difference between the two theories you presented, or maybe it doesn't matter since both lead to the same thing.
Just my opinion here; it's a dick move there is no denying this. Until a few things happen, it's not fraudulent or deceptive nor have they just outright taken funds. Given time, enough information may come out to prove they deceived everyone by not disclosing this was coming. So far from the minimal communication I've seen, as well as Discord Mods pretending they aren't associated with the CB, they act as if this was forced upon them with a "gag" order of sorts.
There are a few things that make it easy to call a scam. First would be a user failing KYC despite providing everything necessary and having their funds withheld. Next would be information about then having notice and not being bound to keep this change from their customers. Until then, it can be said they are complying with the authorities as required.
I actually would like to venture down a different thought process here for a second. Could they not have suspended operations within the EU to avoid having to comply. Allow users to make a decision, then roll out service across the globe again in a month or so. I know not as much free coins that route, but an option none the less.

I wouldn't support a flag at this time. I am a customer and have coins there at the moment. It just seems premature given what we know at this moment, as being forced to operate within the Law doesn't give intent. So I'll wait.

Hey what address were you signing the message from? Either way you might want to move on over to Collectibles. You will generate more interest there for sure. The willingness for Escrow is always good, and minerjones tends to be the goto in the US, not really sure about elsewhere but that's between you and the buyer. Good luck
1243  Other / Meta / Re: My account was stolen. I locked account and need HELP on: October 02, 2019, 03:50:12 AM
There isn't much you can do. Try following these steps Recovering hacked/lost accounts. There is also the Cryptios team which handles account recoveries you can check in at that topic and see what else can be done if anything. They can see IP info and some other things that generally can help them determine account ownership.

Note to everyone else Stake an Address somewhere.
1244  Economy / Reputation / Re: crypto-bridge.org KYC scam ! on: October 02, 2019, 02:56:50 AM
No from what I tried you can't even access the account to confirm balances for those so inclined to walk away. I whole heart-idly agree that anything prior to October 1st should be able to move, something I will have to try and do or wait for people better than myself to do is see how exactly their terms and conditions could be applied in this situation. Either way, it's just another step towards someone out there someday, playing pretend to be **. ****** *********** asking for great big Fiat loans.

1245  Economy / Reputation / Re: crypto-bridge.org KYC scam ! on: October 02, 2019, 01:41:05 AM
I guess coupable didn't link my thread which alerted them. Crypto-Bridge Just sprung KYC on everyone today - No notice given. I hummed about creating it here, but at this moment it's not a scam. They are just guilty of being Grade "A" Assholes. People have the option to be made whole, so I placed it in Service Discussion.
So far my running thoughts are more inline with extortion of personal information over theft. Now if a lot of people fail KYC and are just told to bad, that will be a different matter.
1246  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto-Bridge Just sprung KYC on everyone today - No notice given on: October 02, 2019, 01:35:10 AM
I would try to use photoshop on any document and send it to KYC.
I know it is not right. However, those exchanges are not right either. Suddenly enforcing KYC is a theft.
I get it but that adds an extra layer of risk to things, if you fail the KYC and then turn out to have attempted to cheat it I'd bet you just forfeited any chance of recovering that account. Like I said I'll eventually just do it, I don't handle people trying to take what is mine very well.
But I believe OP got a hint when US citizen requires KYC which he stated. Actually, the exchange can't do anything when regulators ask for it since it's require for AML.
Yes there was a hint that they may roll it out in the same way they did for citizens of their country, giving them notice to decide whether or not they wanted to continue to do business there. My guess enough people just left, so they figured at least this way they can take in a nice payday. You can't operate this type of exchange that really only had a place in the market because they offered something different. Considering they were able to provide notice the last time, your argument they had no choice is misleading. They may not have a choice in implementing this, but they had a choice in allowing a grace period.
I said that's its not actually a theft since you have a chance to claim it by undergoing KYC it's not just like that they didn't give you a way to recover your funds . I'm just explaining the legal process. I'm not telling that they are really doing that thing for legal peocess.
Correct I believe that's more along the lines of extortion not theft. It's funny you point to a legal background. There are very few laws that join nations, I am not a citizen of either that created these laws that this exchange is conforming to. I accepted the laws that the exchange operates within, in the same way this forum has an obligation to follow US laws and I agree to participate here. The problem is using my balance which one can reasonably expect to have on an exchange if they are thinking of beginning trading, or just to have a small amount available to sell at a quick price run up, to then forcibly extort my identity and personal information. To begin complying with laws outside of their country of origin, with no notice.

While lots of gear can be found, there is a difference. Yes the gear is used, but it's been sitting in a Data center, so as long as you believe in the manufacturers quality it's not as big a concern as something out of some dudes garage  Roll Eyes ~ on that note it would be good to say how long they have been running and whether there is any warranty remaining. If so would you handle RMA for the purchaser.

Of all the prices being quoted for other gear, how much of that has taken into account Customs on top of the shipping which most have included - mainly for US residents.  This gear is landed and ready to be switched over once purchased. This is a good option for someone who doesn't want to pay extra shipping and deal with delays but wants to have hashrate.  These are all considerations I as a seller would make. I have also seen OP say make an offer, there is nothing wrong with haggling, most price high to give that wiggle room.

I honestly haven't been looking to much at gear, but everyone has been late on deliveries. There is no guarantee at this point that pre-orders or in-stock orders are moving on time. I got burned for nearly a month in May, another had about a 2 week delay last month.
1248  Economy / Reputation / Re: Request to The Pharmacist regarding Lutpin's trust score. on: October 01, 2019, 08:48:15 PM
Not speaking for anyone here. But why should it be changed. This is legitimate feedback that was left after a prolonged pattern of negligence. The rating isn't even a year old, and serves as a warning in case they begin handling campaigns again. It by no means takes away their right to manage a campaign but instead might allow users to pressure them to escrow funds as opposed to trusting a veteran.
Lutpin is lucky really that this happened before flags were introduced, those don't go away just because you eventually clear things up. There is truly no excuse for handling peoples earnings in the way it was. Life problems happen bit you should step away from responsibilities you can no longer handle.

Wow so you PM'd them and didn't get the hint lol.

Edit: saw you replied. My opinion if not clear us that it stands as a solid feedback, to an even I still feel was recent enough to remain relevant. This does not take away anything from their personality, just accurate feedback on how they managed campaigns.
1249  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto-Bridge Just sprung KYC on everyone today - No notice given on: October 01, 2019, 10:44:11 AM
I think it's mostly the case that they don't have any choice but to require KYC, just like ShapeShift was forced to.
Sure, but that doesn't mean they have to implement the KYC at the same time they announce it.

That's really my only gripe. Do what you feel you have to do but at least approach it with dignity. When they announced it for US citizens I'm pretty sure they got at least 2 weeks notice if not more. It's one thing to perform KYC with a business of your choosing after research, but to be told you have to do this now, and this is the only way. There isn't even a lite version of KYC for low volume withdrawals.

They for sure knew, likely since implementing the US portion. It's funny that they fall into the rhetoric that this is the only way forward for Crypto to become a "viable and legitimate financial network" as quoted above.
1250  Economy / Service Discussion / Crypto-Bridge Just sprung KYC on everyone today - No notice given on: October 01, 2019, 09:42:32 AM
Edit: here is my post detailing how I ended this for myself. I am linking it here to add support to the Flag I am creating.

Just putting this out there for anyone who may be using or was considering using Crypto-Bridge. I have some coins there so I really have no choice now but to submit to their bullshit no notice call. I really should have seen this coming when they made all US clientele perform this earlier in the year. I'm just amazed how it was rolled out, I found it in another random Discord Channel. I guess I'm just a bit miffed at teh fact that they are complying with laws in countries that don't concern me.

They previously allowed anyone outside the US to operate without KYC, so what's the difference now. Either way, I guess I'll have to fill it out eventually but I'll wait until I've seen it in action for a couple days. Sure as shit not letting them have my coins, just because they've changed the rules. I also wouldn't really give a shit, if they had provided some notice.

Edit:

Starting October 2019, all users are required to submit user verification to use CryptoBridge.
The 5th EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive requires users to submit verification of their identity to continue using CryptoBridge.

Proceeding with this requirement will redirect you to our partner, Fractal. Upon completion, full functionality of your account will be restored. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) ensures that your privacy is protected at any time.

Introducing user verification
Oct 1, 2019 | News

Since CryptoBridge entered the market, we are on a mission: Thinking decentral. Both in a technical and in a jurisdictional sense. While we still strive to present new challenges for international financial regulation, we are facing the 5th EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD5) and will adjust our gateway services to pave the way for CryptoBridge moving forward.

Therefore, starting October 2019, all existing and new users are required to submit user verification before continuing to use deposits and withdrawals, to protect customers and CryptoBridge from being held responsible for any illegal intentions or money laundering activities. Introducing AMLD5 not only creates a legal status for crypto assets, it also enables them to become viable and legitimate financial networks. It also facilitates the listing of security tokens on CryptoBridge.

We are working closely with our partner Fractal who stores all user-submitted data with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance measures in a European data storage facility. GDPR holds personal data privacy to significantly higher standard than any previous national or international legislation and sets the bar very high for the handling of private data. Consequently, CryptoBridge does not have access to any user information other than their UUID associated with a successful completion identity verification. Personal information is not shared unless there is a court order mandating to release it. You’ll find more in depth information in our privacy policy.

We are looking forward to release an even more efficient and faster identity verification process in the upcoming weeks.

This is the Blog explaining it, note it was published October 1st. They are so F'd on this they don't even have a decent system for KYC up and running. Going to be a few weeks for a streamlined process; might have been niuce to announce it then implement it when the process was ready.
1251  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion for improving custom trust network on: October 01, 2019, 05:10:24 AM
I just realized that it doesn't show on the feedback page as left, in the same way that created flags do. I would like to see that changed, to include supported and opposed flags it is after all a form of feedback. In the meantime there's this LoyceV's (Personal) Trust Flag viewer [daily updates]
1252  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion for improving custom trust network on: October 01, 2019, 04:44:44 AM
Making it easier to add other users to a Trust list without visiting said users' Trust pages will result in people adding users without ever having looked into the Trust ratings or flags they post.
This part is interesting, perhaps the button should be located on the Trust Page. Then they will have had to at least looked at it. Similar to the FLag system the re could be a little something like "You should Add and Exclude users based on their judgement in matters of : Feedback, Flag support, <insert others>"

The second part is unfortunately still an old by-product of the system and hasn't changed. It was evident by how many veteran members still had "shitty" lists when trust changes took effect. The forum isn't taking active steps yet to promote the intended/proper use of this system to veterans or newbies alike. People using this function even improperly, would generate a discussion around it which tends to draw others in and disperse the knowledge somewhat.
1253  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion for improving custom trust network on: October 01, 2019, 04:27:40 AM
I don't think it was suggested anywhere that this was going to tie into because they like someones posts. It could be said that they could be adding a user in the same fashion right now, but with a larger margin for error. The idea behind this was to take away the possible human error of mistyping a username when trying to place them in your list (+/~). It could also promote Custom Trust Lists, by making it easier for users to use and experiment with.

It is still open to the same perceived misuse as the current system. Just a more user friendly option.

Edit: Went back and I had this in a bit better detail.
The idea behind this was originally spawned when I read a topic LoyceV created about adding the wrong user by mistake due to a typo or similar account name.

What I would like in theory would be a "button" to add or exclude a member from your custom trust list. It would be on everyone's profile, so that to perform those actions you just have to find the proper profile and select it. Each button would come up with a little box with a small explanation of what each action does. The description could also have a link to appropriate information sources on trust,DT, or anything else deemed relevant to the overall system.
Would it be illogical if we have such button for everyone to just push/click it without even understanding what it’s purpose? Since they don’t know exactly what is it, they will just be founding on what the user is saying and just click that button
It very well could wind up being misused/abused this way. In reality though the current system can/does get used this way, it's just a little more difficult to do. The reality is though any users using it in that fashion will find themselves excluded by other DT members for having a flimsy/poor trust network.

Edit: Forgot to mention the above italicized exclude, came from LFC_Bitcoins post above.
1254  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion for improving custom trust network on: October 01, 2019, 04:16:43 AM
It's always nice when you see others have that same idea. The more people that ask for it the more likely it is to be seen as a positive addition, never know what changes theymos will introduce so visibility is always nice. I like the idea of having it in a users profile, and I think I said something about having a pop-up like " You are including/excluding this user. Do you wish to proceed?"
On a side note LoyceV is planning on adjusting the wording on their custom trust list viewer to try and clarify the meaning behind inclusions and exclusions.

Are you willing to sell items individually? Also is the hosting facility willing to continue hosting the gear? If so that might help widen your pool of potential customers. What kind of rates are they charging if they will continue to host the machines as well.

Thanks and good luck with the sales.

Here is the best I can think of. This is a listing from a broker. I can't find the OP by the manufacturer but will look later on when I have a chance.

Read through some of the other threads. People buy and sell coins here all the time. People will be cautious as you are a brand new account with no reputation at risk. So if you are planning Pay Pal or something else reversible you will probably be out of luck.

So I suggest posting exactly what you are looking for and what you plan on using to pay. Worst case you have to go to an exchange until you have a reputation here.
1259  Other / Meta / Re: [Updated September 28] LoyceV's Trust list viewer - Create your own Trust list! on: September 29, 2019, 05:38:09 PM
I really like that. To me that's exactly what this portion of the overall trust system represents.  I don't know how much it will stop the slighted feeling users get, but at least it is more clear and easier to explain to people now.
1260  Other / Meta / Re: [Updated September 28] LoyceV's Trust list viewer - Create your own Trust list! on: September 29, 2019, 05:22:37 PM
It might help. I'm also in no way trying to cast blame on the data representation you provide, as far as I know you are using the correct terms.

I'll take some time to think on it but my initial thoughts are referring to this as a "Persona Feedback Network" "inclusions" and "exclusions" would be fine with almost no negative connotation. What's the 4th category? I'm on mobile at the moment.
