I'm selling everything in the next FOMO top, in Q4 2021.
For two reasons, I want to square everything with the taxman, I bought small amounts a gazillion times in 2013 and 2014 and need to get that straightened out. I also need some life changing money in my life.
So, 30% goes to the taxman, the rest will be divided in two equal sums, one for me to do what I want with, and one that will be put in something that pays a good interest. After a year that sum will be used to buy back bitcoins since the bottom comes almost exactly a year after the top, at least it has the last two times.
And then I will be 100% in bitcoin again for three years when the next top comes and I repeat.

...

Seriously I gotta ask, how old you?

Look up "Million Man March". Happened 25 years ago.

And guess what? Nothing changed after that. Nothing. In fact things got worse.

"But this time things are different".

You might be right (ok, you are) but the spirit survived.
That's the main point.

And well, things always get worse, don't they?

Quote
Rome wasn't conquered within in a day.

Don't get me wrong, I love the (meaningful) protesting, I love the energy and spirit, really I do.

But as always with youth, the energy is always misdirected to a place where it will do little good.

Instead of marching on Washington D.C. and going for the national "photo op", have 100K+ people instead march directly to the street of each of their respective Senators' houses. Camp out on their front lawn, or block their street with a list of specific demands, and tell their Senator that if they don't draft and pass legislation to change those things, they are voted out in the next election.

If protesters aren't affecting the Senators lives directly in some way, nothing will change. Senators probably don't even have time to watch TV, so with a march on Washington they can just choose ignore it.

Why would anyone march against non-polarizing characters when they have someone who seeks to attract their attention and wants to create DC as a battle ground.

Yeah, many Americans are mad as hell and don't want to take it anymore about a lot of disparate things, so it is not very easy for masses of people to either be directed in their message regarding so many perceived injustices (whether real or not).

Non-protesters benefit from the actions and sacrifices of protesters who are attempting to cause the government to be more responsive, responsible and accountable, and so property is damaged and lives are lost, while a lot of the benefits do end up flowing to the non-protesters.. who are not as likely to suffer direct physical damage, arrests or to get put on blacklists.

Trump likely believes that all of the chaos and attention works to his advantage, and we have even heard that he relishes in the idea to have DC as a test ground for his desire for federal policing actions.. yes unprecedented calling for the activation of federal forces to quell and suppress the rights of Americans to assemble, protest and speak.., and maybe he will be able to play a lot of the ongoing chaos that he has purposefully been exacerbating to his favor for the next 5 months, yet maybe he will overplay his cards or reveal his true evilness, selfishness, destructiveness and inabilities to really serve anyone except for himself..

So, yes time will only show whether he is able to come out as a success to the extent that his ongoing provocations motivates a variety of rational and irrational out bursts including the physical actions of actual people traveling to DC to give him the attention that he seems to want.. and wants to use tax payer dollars to battle the enemy.. doesn't he call the battle against antifa?  Seems like lots of "antifa" planning to travel to DC.. and how will it go?  how will it go?  No more minneapolis, now going to DC..... right?

As mostly always, people aren't really united. Sure, there are these "police violence", "racism" and "i can't breathe" captions, but as Torque put out, realistic and specific demands and real "connecting values" are missing. (humans mainly solicite on a basis of value). The "crowd" is not organized and tries to fight the very organized establishment, which likely will fail. It's a short affair, and maybe the rage against Trump will have faded out already when the elections finally call for the votes.

And not to forget: Believe it or not, most of us are becoming temporary racists in the face of events like FIFA world cup or the olympics. Even people that consider themselves as midst or left(ish). I don't have a link to the underlining study, however.

"temporary racists" lol. I'll use that from now on.
"You are a racist!"
"Only temporary."

34 brothers, the dude is getting drunk older :-)

Congratulations, When you are about my age I'll be somewhere around my 90s. (That means I'll most likely be dead).
Enjoy youth, oops, forgot who I''m talking to, you already do.

Code:
x - 34 = 90 - x
2x = 124
X = 62

Is 62 yo ...

I told you I suck at math, it's actually 59, that's why I wrote "around my 90s" I'm to lazy to do an exact calculation of numbers that complicated.

Seems like a majority would support calling in the U.S. military to aid the police.

That man, Tegnell, or doctor Tengele as some people call him, is slippery like an eel, he changes his mind constantly and somehow makes it sound like he was right all along.

No.
Ok.

It's not a matter of being selfish.
It's a matter of spreading unnecessary fear, FOR NOTHING.
Pretty much every study and over 100,000 dead people in the US disagrees with your second assertion. Unless you can quote peer reviewed studies (impact factor >3 please) which show that this is "a matter of spreading unnecessary fear" and wearing masks has no impact (for nothing) then this is your opinion and not fact.

I'm fine with people having their own opinions, but when they clash this hard with objective reality I'd have to assume they are either completely ignorant or actively malicious.

Quote
Also it's my fucking right not to be afraid, without dick-fuck-pussies telling me what to do.

That's a much better argument. I'd still assert that you are ignorant of the studies above or misinformed, but if not then it sounds like you're a selfish dickhead who wants to do what he wants to do. Not a problem, do not wear a mask and people can choose to stay away from you and deny you access to their property and persons.

I'd check with Arrie though to see if this is bad or not.

#MoHomo :-)

I approve.

There is no doubt that masks help, but there is also the question of personal freedom, at what point does not wearing a mask infringe on other peoples freedom,if it does at all.
I mostly agree with lightfoot on this, although I would refrain from name calling, after all, anyone can see if you are wearing a mask or not and stay the hell away if the are worried about contamination.

Found the one about London, more of a protest than a riot it seems. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8372847/Black-Lives-Matter-protesters-streets-London.html

Karartma1 - yeah man, off the grid, I used to recommend just a waiting job somewhere quiet till it all blows over, but there are other quiet unassuming roles to play to keep some fiat trickling in. that would be for a young guy, i don't know your situation of course

Which will be the first country to riot on a different continent, thereby making the riot epidemic a pandemic?
Don't think Chile and HK count as they were already at it for then different reasons. May have missed some under-reported riots.
I'd guess France.

I just read that London and Berlin is rioting.

An autopsy report talks about "potential intoxicants"?
It's a preliminary report only, the final report is yet to come, presumably with a toxic report.

The coroners report is in, and he died from medical problems in conjunction with drugs, the cop did not kill him.

I see.

Ok Jimbo, let me refrase that.
The coroners preliminary report is in, and it seems like he died from medical problems in conjunction with possible drugs, the cop might not have killed him

Well, let me think: cops work for government and coroners work for government too... so what did you expect to find in that report? The truth?  Grin

Well, yes kind of. I'm at least hoping that he has enough integrity to be impartial. And I'm willing to bet that there is going to be a second autopsy as well, that should be a good reason for him to try and keep it clean.
But I know nothing about autopsys and how coroners work, I'm just referring to the prel. report.
1956  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 01, 2020, 12:58:55 PM
'Possible drugs'

Fact: That applies to every adult on the planet.

As does 'possible mental impairment'. Also a fact.

Yes, it's not my words, it''s the coroners. I agree it sounds a bit out of place in a preliminary report.

So, I guess he was destined to just drop dead that day, regardless of the cops actions, then?

How should I know when he was destined to die?
But the cops inaction when he got sick (possible heart attack?) didn't help. He should have tried to help him, and when dead, tried to resuscitate him.
1958  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 01, 2020, 11:49:19 AM
Tell you what though, let's just get rid of the Police force all together.
I agree.

Freedom is when the state fears the people. In a police state, which is any state that has a police force, the people fear the state. That's why communism continues to happen, obviously unsustainable as it is. We can not afford to have tyrants in power who enforce their will on the people with force.

Police has its origin in   controlling and bringing back escaped slaves. The difference, today it is done incognito and making the slave believe it is for his own good.
Medieval Europe had night watch men who's primary job was to keep the gas light lanterns lit. Paid by the community and he would respect his employer.
I think Hitler introduced income tax (and a lot of other taxes).

So many things wrong here, I'll just point out two.
There was no gas lights in medieval Europe, gas light is a late 1800s invention, medieval Europe was dark.
Hitler did not invent nor introduce income tax.
1959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 01, 2020, 11:35:35 AM
Be clear Arrie..its a fact for you. Our subjective experiences of what we call reality induces biases that are sometimes hard to peer around. Work on it is my advice.
Leftie biases are wrong. That's why you are leftists.

If you are not a leftie at 20 you have no heart, if you are not a rightie at 30 you have no brain. This is not just a cute saying, it's literal truth. Lefties have, for whatever reason, stunted brain growth. You are simply not able to understand right wing thinking. You do not think as adults.

But I was a conservative already as a young boy, does that mean that my brain was big and well developed ahead of time?
1960  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 01, 2020, 11:26:42 AM

Surprised, anyone?

Yeah, I am.
I'm surprised Arrie can't face the FACT that Floyd could not fucking breathe.

Good morning JJG.

Did you sleep well?
Sorry, how was your day?

Where on earth did I say he not couldn't breath.
The preliminary report suggests that his shortness of breath was caused by heart trouble, and, maybe, drugs. We will know more when the final report is in.
I'm not defending the cops inaction when he was clearly sick. I'm defending the cops actions before that, when they were simply trying to arrest a money forger.
