This is like the fourth time it bounces around 30 k, third time after the last ath.

At this point I'm not sure if the bouncing cat is dead or alive,  but the honey badger is still alive for sure and doesn't give a fuck about this bouncing around.

Schrödinger's bouncing cat.

Price action sucks at the moment, looks like we’re about to go under $30,000. I hope we don’t go too low, there must be some buying pressure somewhere close to the current price. Who the hell is selling?

HODL

Everyone and his grandma is selling, because it's January, the poorest month of the year.
This is not uncommon.

The thing that used to annoy me most about conventional corporate wage-slavery was the 9-5 hours, specifically the 9 part. We all know that some people are morning people, some are night owls. I'm definitely the latter.  No less productive, just more productive in the evening than mornings.  Yet employers insist that everyone starts at 09.00. There was hardly any point me starting work at that time, I had no ability to focus until at least 12.00.  And just when my focus was starting to really come together at 17.30, it was time to go home. Ridiculous working system reflecting a bygone era

And why is it always seen as a virtue to be a morning person, yet it's assumed that night owls just sit around watching TV or playing video games late into the night?

And busy-ness - why is that seen as a virtue? There seems to be an underlying assumption that the busier a person is, the more virtuous they are. Why is so little value attached to making time to do nothing, to think, to slow down and to ponder the big questions?

If I get a solid 8 hours sleep I'm good for the next 16 hours - doesn't matter what time it is.

It takes time to adjust though and it's not something that should be changed on a regular basis.

It's always 9am somewhere in the world....

For the better part of my worklife I managed to get night jobs.
I too am a night owl and work super well at night, preferably unsupervised.
Before I quit three years ago I drove a lorry at night on weekends, I got paid for seven hours of work, but the route took about five.
The other five days I was of.
I really liked that job, but my last boss was unfortunately an asshole, which kind of spoiled the fun, even though I barely saw him.

I'm strongly considering quitting my job, and doing something, anything else while living off crypto for the foreseeable future. This is the first day of work after a 2 week break, and instead of being "refreshed" and ready to work, all I can think is the break wasn't nearly long enough. Despite finding the work deeply unfulfilling, my job is stable and pays pretty well (a quick Google search says I'm in the top 97% within my state).

Probably the biggest thing holding me back is losing the structure that comes with the daily grind. I'm not completely confident I have the necessary self-discipline to create my own structure over the long-term, and while there are a lot of things I want to do (contribute to open source crypto software, write a novel, go back to school, etc), there's the non-zero chance I end up wandering aimlessly without purpose until wasting away.

Has anyone else gone through this or a similar thought process? This might be the only place (that I know of) with people who could relate.

Learning how to reassign your time is one of the biggest challenges of quitting an addiction like alcoholism, job slavery, or hard drug dependence.

You may have already realized the harm caused by your addiction and decided to quit but if you are accustomed to hanging out in bars or with cronies drinking, or working in some office or factory, or jonesing for your next fix, it takes an extra effort to learn how to use your extra time.

This is why quitting cold turkey without a plan isn't a good idea. Hobbies are a good start. Fun enterprises are even better. May as well get paid for having fun.

Mark Twain said, "work is what a fellow is obliged to do". If it's fun and optional, it's not work. It's a hobby.

May as well get paid for your hobbies.
______

BTW I've been job-free since 1976. Just  say no.

Actually, I quit my job to get away from structure. I hate structure. I want to be able to go to bed whenever I want, get out of bed whenever I want and do nothing at all in between. And that's pretty much what I have been doing for almost four years now, and I love it.

Edit: sorry three years it is.

jesus. you really come across like a bunch of utter rednecks to really think it is a sign of cultural degradation when some filmmakers create a movie where the hero is a female version of James Bond?  will the world still turn after this? will your dicks in your pants will still be the same dicks? it is a fiction series. the theme has been ridden to death for decades. it is entertaining. if you hate that a woman acts as a new version of James Bond then don't watch it. but stop peeing your pants as if someone took something of any relevance from you.

Borat should do the next one. and then Marge Simpson. and finally Greta Thunberg. that should give you something to chew at.

The problem is not that there is a female version of James Bond out there, the problem is that she is replacing James Bond.
This is so typical of the left, instead of creating their own version the way they would like it, they force others to change their version in to something they like.
This is going to be a disaster moneywise.

Yes I'm catching up on old posts I haven't replied to yet.

BSv is totally not a cult cunt,

FTFY

Here's some spam pic of a swan from today's walk to the lake, to sweeten up the sideways range bound (aka. boring) price action:

Manual focus because of autofocus malfunction due to coldness. So not perfect sharpness on the spot, but good enough for this shot.

EDIT: Time for a pump, isn't it?

Looks like a goose to me.. but what do I know about one bird versus another bird?

Swans turn white when mature. They are brown at birth and while juvenile.
There's even a child story "The ugly ducking", you may know, but it's of German origin, so maybe not  Wink
Now you know a little bit more about swans  Grin

Nah, sorry, but since Ibian isn't here to defend Denmark, I as a Scanian must take upon myself to inform the WO that the ugly duckling is Danish.
From Wikipedia.

""The Ugly Duckling" (Danish: Den grimme ælling) is a literary fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875). “The Ugly Duckling” was first published on 11 November 1843, with three other tales by Andersen in Copenhagen, Denmark to great critical acclaim. The tale has been adapted to various media including opera, musical, and animated film. The tale is completely Andersen's invention and owes no debt to fairy tales or folklore."

A swedish comedian made a version were the duckling sees his reflection and realizes that he is actually a bat.

That's weird, I had my VPN on Denmark so I could watch Babylon Berlin om danish television. When I changed it to Sweden I could access Etsy again.

When I try to access etsy.com I get a blank white page, is it just me?

Looks OK here.

Thanks, something fishy with my browser then.

There was nothing there to be unseen anyway.  It likely has more to do with the fact that the EU has the best animal protection and welfare laws in the world.  They wouldn't want you people getting any ideas about horses... other than eating them after they were humanely raised in captivity and euthanized for your nutritional requirements.

When put like that, it does sound ridiculous. But now I'm not sure if one should stop eating meat or start fucking animals.

According to islam, and I kid you not, it's ok to fuck a goat, (I think it was a goat) but you can not eat the meat of that goat, it is however ok to let neighboring tribes eat the meat.
Moral? Beware when invited for dinner.

JW's always make me laugh - ofc we're going to be chilling in the promised land with some lions and bears (where are the bulls?)

On topic: last chance to buy below $40k!

Why is everybody doing chores in the promised land, I thought that was going to be work free.

It's only Chinese, and a Black dude doing chores in a traditional European setting.  Not sure what the message is...

Ah, I missed that, they are happily working to provide for me, of course.
Or Europeans aren't allowed in, in which case my first question remains and a second question is added, where are the Europeans?

Also, it's not being "extreme left" to prevent people from organizing a coup and lynchings, it's called civilization.

With that type of logic book burning can be justified indeed.
I see it as a slippery slope like I said. Others see it as a good thing for the greater good.

As pointed out that greater good is slowly controlled only by billionaires.

Book burning by whom ? We're talking about private companies here. And usually on bitcoin forums people don't have problems with billionaires, but I guess there are exceptions.

And you think it's ok for a few private companies to control what we can and can not say?

When People got sick of twitter and started to migrate to Parler, Twitters owner called Amazons owner and asked him to shut down Parlers servers to kill the competition. A blatant abuse of power, and probably against US antitrust and other laws.

Consider that AWS has already a history of such "measures". At least they seem to be "fair" in terms of unbiased (left/right) but maybe just picky about following their rules (terms of service). Sometimes more, sometimes less. However, violence needs to be addressed at its sources, and i see this principle applied here. There are many other channels, and also a history (everyone remember the "hotline" client/server network?).

In addition, you only have to go back 10 years before the Brexit vote and find out that in fact the Liberal Democrats wanted an in out referendum as well. Nothing to do with Robert Mercer or Nigel Farage.

Populism made almost all the difference.
UK is about to wake up with quite a hangover after the brexit party.

That's not true, as a free independent nation they can now make trade deals with the rest of the world instead of just the EU.

They will start building a free trade area with just about everyone as soon as they can.
And that area will soon be bigger then the EU, mark my words.
Remember EFTA, that Austria used to be part of before joining the EEC? That was started by the British.

I value your opinion, especially because you have far better historic knowledge than me.
This will become quite interesting. I think the UK may be in a weak position to set up trade agreements BUT the EU is already slowly dismounting itself from the inside.
So relative to the EU, the UK might end up stronger mid/long term, quite likely imo.

Tank you, I agree that the EU is slowly dismounting itself from the inside, it's going to be very interesting to see what's going to happen the coming 20 years, if I live that long.

I don't give a shit if 90% of the protestors were just marching. The 10% of the ones that stormed the capital are all felons and should be charged as such and all the congressmen/woman and Trumps and his sycophants should be charged with sedition.

You snowflakes crying about social media bans. I will drink all your pansy ass tears. You don't get to storm the capital and try to kill people in this country. These people deserve every ban they get.

Cry me a river with your treason.

You don't get it do you?
What they do to your enemies now, they can do to you later, defending somebody else's right is defending your own right.
