4101  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 05, 2013, 07:58:01 PM
Don't even get me started on AMC, VMC, ACM, ACTM or whatever ks's ticker is now. I've never bought a share.

I greatly prefer LC, as I think the risk/reward profile at this point is far better, but LC is not doing themselves any favors. If management hasn't sold their shares then keeping their word and offering proof should be a no-brainer. Why has this not happened and why doesn't it seem to bother anyone else?
What was your opinion on BTCGarden?

4103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MΣC] Megacoin.co.nz - Website Launched! on: September 05, 2013, 07:51:34 PM
I guess Kimoto has a lot of other things to do (according to the press). Let the developers do their things. It will take some time to implement new things (if you know what i mean)...
If you belive in MEC stay here an grab some while they are cheap yet, if not come back and see wats happened later...
Just a hint: Megacoin is carrying some secrets.
How do you know all these?
I prefer transparency in order to invest, the Anoncoin guys are very transparent and open...

CRYPTX EXPANDS BITFURY CHIP DEAL

September 4, 2013 – Brussels – CryptX, a company which specializes in Bitcoin mining, is pleased to announce it has secured a new purchase contract with Punin Design.

The purchase agreement has expanded to the delivery of 18,000 Bitfury chips (about 54 TH/s). Even more important is the early delivery date of 20 September 2013 for all chips. We will pick up the chips in Finland in person. This date will give CryptX an important lead start.

The agreement is a first milestone in the development of the PETA-MINE. The chips will be used in a first stage deployment of 20 TH/s.

Could this recent spike in the Hash Rate be KNC testing units??

Under promise over deliver EARLY?? or just my wishful thinking??

https://blockchain.info/charts/hash-rate

I agree with the others, this is BitFury ramping up (and maybe a little BFL).  KnC probably wont switch on their first chip til later this month, days before we get ours !  (fingers crossed)

Jes, KnC's will be a large spike if they are planning on shipping the orders to date so quick. There won't be any uncertainty when they test/ship. As they are aiming to manufacture and ship in volume, not trickle. It will just be two weeks of solid spike, then a levelling, until Nov/Dec.
What trade strategy will you follow? Regarding selling the coins you mine...

I personally see as the network hashrate increases massively, the ease of undermining the network reduces significantly. Thus as the network becomes more secure and inpenetrable to attack, the price gradually rises. I think we're on an steady upward trend now as we have broken away from the psychological $100 and reaffirm a more confident psychological €100 (which is precisely where we are right now). Media will become more poisitive and then hopefully more people realise there is greater profit in innovating the payment process regarding mainstream adoption. Exchanges still remain the weak link and we need a mutual regularatory stance there before the currency can increase liquidity significantly, but these are all positives to come, as well will be private equity pouring in for the currency. All this needs to be approached with care, but i'm not concerned about selling coins personally. Manipulation may occur from time to time, but ceratinly no where near the same as within holding shares in a company, where insider trading is rampant. Obviously this isn't the case everywhere, but corruption is a massive tempetaion as co. managers speak to fund managers, and it's a releif an organic currency such as Bitcoin is free of that temptation to a greater extent.
So basically you are holding and not selling like crazy to ROI I suppose!

I am buying btw in case anyone is interested (bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates)

Nah mate, same with GPUs, all this ROI stuff is nonsense. I believe you will FWIW, but w.r.t. GPU mining it was never about instant ROI, it was about mining Bitcoin with a belief it would be adoptd as an alternative currency to corrupted fiat printed into worthless paper. The long term belief of GPU mining was that Bircoin's value and your mined coins would rise, never instant gratification, that's just a recent development with calculators pushed by Butterfly Labs and Bitsyncom touting ASICS as life changing money printers, lol...
I still mine alts with gpus - mainly anoncoin. I hold most of them because I have free electricity connections in various places Wink

I know what you mean I am heavily disappointed by the situation and I really think the last customers that will enjoy some profit (before it becomes only affordable by big players) would be the first KnC customers (and current Bitfury ones).
4107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 05, 2013, 01:15:26 PM
I would keep ALL the coins that i mine, and buy stuff i need.

Thats how you support the community of BTC in 2 way's : you mine and buy with BTC

Profits will decline eventually so be wise on how you spend it.

There will be another crash if you believe the reason why most people intend to mine in the first place
So they can retire from work (hahahaha) al those calculators (except for the gen.block)
Promise amounts of money most people won't ever get close to.

This is how i would do it, wait for the NEXT big crash, wait untill it gets back up on a decent USD/BTC price again
And maybe then sell some, but i have high hopes for the long run (10 y or so) so i would still keep some.

(Btw all the investments i made, i did that with spare money i wouldnt care if i would lose, so im already happy with any income on BTC)

If that's not the most sensible post so far it's definitely top ten.

Thank you! I hope some people can benefit from it, I sure will!  Grin
How did you buy the miners? Bitcoins?

I wonder if this has anything to do with Silk Road and Atlantis going down
Was not aware of that, what happened?

i dont know, but reddit posts indicate it has been up/down sporadically today
Wait to see how BTC will crash when Anoncoin delivers full...
People do not realize that if DPR uses another alt with anonymity features then it is all over.
Only the miners-early adopter trust and first mover advantage keep it up imho...

This crash is lame. Neither Stamp nor Gox show over 20k volume.

LMFAO, minutes after i post this the actions picks up, huge sells. omg
To the single digits?

Rule No1 - You don't plan in Bitcoinland without taking in account the psychofat boy Karpeles!
He used the same trick twice - some idiots never learn their lesson.

He pumps LTC with a stupid tweet, he cashes out for USD while BTC crashes at his site and he saves his bitcoin reserves who probably went dangerously low from his withdrawal issue...

That's why I will never plan again long term with Bitcoin - ROI and bullshit, he f@cked as so many times!
Terrahash was a black hole - I hope the dump will end for people here so you will not get burned too, I seriously mean it guys...

MtGox is becoming less and less relevant.
Fortunately it seems so - but I am still cautious. The latest LTC manipulation was so canny...
Here we go again...

LTC going nuts

This has happened before. LTC dumps often follow BTC crashes. just wait.

And down LTC goes   Cheesy

LTC is a crappy hedge. You have to dump it immediately after BTC finishes crash and begins to climb again. The window to do so is very narrow because the largest pumper/dumpers are in cahoots with owners of BTCe.

Very risky bizness.
This!
