No, there is no specific allegation in the document, just a general admonishment against violating the statute. California clearly has their wires crossed because, even under the most expansive interpretation of the law, the foundation is not a money transmitter. They cannot be a money transmitter simply for advocating for Bitcoin as there are first amendment issues preventing regulation of that type of speech. The point here is: They are a conglomerate of mtgox, bitpay and others which do fit the term money transmitter. What if the state already knows they aren't a money transmitter but are looking to engage the membership all at once. Some of them are money transmitters. Remember, California is broke. Fines represent real income for the state. On a side note, they just raised the parking meter violation fine next to my house in SF. It's $90 now! This place is fucked! I'm assuming people will buy like crazy when there will be an official ETA to Gox, and in my book that's the best time to sell, when everybody is buying enthusiastically and bullishly. Yeah that makes sense. Although many people won't be buying before it hits Gox. So as soon as it hits it my guess is there will be panic buying that will double the price. We'll see. Rampion may be correct to sell shortly before LTC hits Gox (sell on the news). But, there are going to be a lot of people who will want LTC that don't currently have them. S3052 may very well be right in that the price will jump to $4-$6 per LTC. I picked up some today (even though I was initially against it), it is a gamble as I think BTC is going down from here, but hopefully LTC goes up enough to overcome that. +1 Also, will you actually sell hardware (blades) or shares? Not sure I understand... The business model part mentions that, this is a decision that has not been yet taken. It depends on many still "unknow" factors. EDIT : Further elaborating with this bit from our website : "At the moment we are able to fund a first test run of version 1 IC and continue development of version 2. If v.1 IC test run is successful, we will purchase a run for 100.000 ICs which should yeld about 30 TH/sec in total. We will deploy half of this hashing power for private use and re-sell the remaining stock of ICs in the form of high powered 'blade-like' devices. Income generated will go toward the completion and tape-out of the version 2 IC." The "unknow" factors, refer to the success/failure of first 180nm test run, on the success of which, depends a further, bigger run of ICs. We still need to iron out some quirks with the preliminar design before we can safely go on tape-out phase, so you should get what i'm talking about, there are many 'chained' events which depend on each other success before we can achieve significant results and talk about selling devices or shares. Nice - I will be interested in both options but if you ship from Asia (I live in Europe) maybe better if I have hosting/shares option. Good luck anyway! |

I would also add that scam coins are pretty profitable, but so far only decided to put significant money in LTC (some thousands of it) and XRPs (a few hundred thousands), tried a little bit of PPC but sold after 2 days with a small profit. It was too prone to continuos pumped ump.
My exit strategy for LTC is very clear (before Gox), on the contrary I'm not sure about XRP, I'm already sitting on a 50% profit and I'm wondering if I should sell now and forget about it or if I should hold it long term and see what happens with Ripple when it exits the beta stage. In any case I'm aware of the fact Ripple is a scam and I may lose everything I've invested in it, in any case it was a gamble with money I definitely can afford to lose. LTC already paid for all the money I could potentially lose with XRP.

What if a small business without access to counsel receives such a notice? This is government bullying and is a big deal. Those starting small businesses, especially in the United States, should assume that even if they do everything possible to obey the law they might get shut down anyway. The obvious response is to organize your venture in such a way that you can operate regardless of the legality of what you're doing. SR model is the way to go I suppose |

As others said, I decided to incrementally scale modules in order to minimize my risk - furthermore I divided my initial investment half in TerraHash and the other half in KNC.
If the project will prove valid I will add more for me and for some people interested (which I have them as possible customers). I wanted to be 100% sure before I invested their money and I explained to them the drawbacks in this case (possibly less returns).
I will have them hosted in TH because it is more convenient for me this way (avoiding customs, shipping to Europe, possible extra taxes etc).

Hey all, I don't give a shit about nationalities! As a Greek I have the greatest respect for nations with big history like China. All nations have great guys + assholes. You decide where you belong. No valid argument by OP, just biased Chinese nationalism - I am used to it as we had to co-operate much with these cocky guys. Full of errors and false impressions their code and hardware. Huawei's switching centres used to got on fire lol. Now they copied Ericsson's AXE ok finally.
I would worry more about the outcome of the Chinese than the Swedish, just my 2 satoshis.
But I will go bullish on their project too (as I did with KNC and TerraHash).
