May I suggest something? Those who are VERY worried start another thread. The ones who feel SUPER confident do so too.

This is ridiculous.

Can we please keep this official thread for more formal, basic discussion?
Only important updates posted here along with serious and confirmed finds (like a video/photos from a third independent party or a special event like the first BTC refund etc.)

I think the current mood here is only negative for all (except possible trolls)...

I'm certainly going to visit Terrahash's office and see how things are going. I've been planning on doing that since I first signed up on their site in May. I am not going to be building any boards with them, but I will take pictures and report on what I see. I used to be a cop, and I have no personal interest other than verifying that we are going to get our products. I'll reiterate that I'm not worried.

You are more than welcome to visit us. Multiple people have visited our office ever since we started operation.

Sorry about the video, it will be uploaded soon.
10-4 Thanks!
10-4? Not sure I understand this..

does anyone else think this might be tied to Bitinstant being down?

I'm telling you guys, silent majority of drug buyers keep bitcoin going

but nobody wants to believe me

Possible adaptation of 0coin by an alt coin may prove you sooner than we think...

This whole deal is completely over, they sounded like the real deal for a short time - they are not, it is clear!
The couple of fanboys on here who keep posting positive stuff about them or slagging off detractors have low post counts and are likely aligned with TH either Amir himself or friends or just people too greedy to not see the truth.

It's time to get out while you can guys before the 45 day PayPal limit

4526  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 05, 2013, 06:44:48 PM
1500BTC ask wall at 70 on bitstamp. Bitstamp is leading the down move. mtgox won't have any option but to follow behind.

This will go lower on both exchanges, and fast...
Damn large monster sells today at bitstamp - now orders at 70, 72, 75.
They buy XRPs and dollars
4527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin DOWN, Litecoin UP on: July 05, 2013, 12:19:29 PM
Capital not only out of BTC as in 2011 but actually big part of it IN competitive coins...
Interesting times ahead...

Some people are not running to fiat...yes times have changed.

Cryptos ecosystem is IT in Fast Forward and Economy 100x FF combined...
Only really agile and adaptive people will survive.
4528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let's be realistic. For what reason do you really think Bitcoin will rise? on: July 05, 2013, 12:11:49 PM
BTC's only hope is 0coin - period.
Back in 2011 bubble THERE WERE NO ALTERNATIVES!!!!
Damn I hate to be Cassandra but people don't seem to realize that it is a digital product - in a matter of hours a better product can make an older one obsolete...

It is happening right now as we talk - check in BTC-e PPC, TRC, NMC and LTC to BTC ratios.
If that was not enough go and check XRP which is a whole different animal...
DESPITE they fall in USD along with BTC - in fact this is what scares me most! People prefer to go to an alt than fiat...

I will believe in alternative cryptocurrencies when I see Silk Road using them.
+1
If someone is a BTC believer this must be his main concern - not high life conferences and bitcoin celebrities praising their interests...

4530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let's be realistic. For what reason do you really think Bitcoin will rise? on: July 05, 2013, 12:05:21 PM
The reason for Bitcoin to go up again is for it to reach its bottom, becoming undervalued and thus a good investment again.
There are bottoms in other coins NOW! No need for a speculator to wait IMO.
Everybody imagine Dread Pirate Roberts saying he opts to x_coin+0coin...

That means they will start taking orders for those people who wish to supply their OWN chips and have them assembled onto a board.
Thx mate!
4533  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 05, 2013, 11:49:26 AM
Also, we will start taking assembly only orders next week after we get our test circuit hashing.
Guys, can someone explain what does this mean??
4534  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Zerocoin when? on: July 05, 2013, 11:15:57 AM
It's not the first solution - there are other ways to mix up coins and preserve privacy. ZeroCoin is a very nice piece of work and there are all kinds of uses for advanced cryptography. Unfortunately as pointed out before, zerocoin is not only "not the most optimized", it's so slow as to be unusable. But crypto only ever gets faster. It might become feasible one day.

Until then, there are simpler approaches that can do a job that's nearly as good (or maybe even just as good).
Please DO implement them!!!!  Grin

EDIT: I will donate to your team (I am not rich BTW Tongue ) and I am sure many will...
4535  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 05, 2013, 11:12:59 AM
We are making considerable progress, both with the circuit and the enclosure. I will post an update here and well as an email to everyone, including pictures in the next half an hour.
Some people here canceled their orders - I am interested in stacking 2 more modules in my DX Large! Please tell me if I can do so...

Do both. Private IPO and accept pre-orders, offering escrow until a prototype is available.
This! I want to minimize risk as possible so more options is always the best
4537  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Zerocoin when? on: July 05, 2013, 09:43:21 AM
A "soft fork" is a hack. It means miners know about the new rule and other nodes don't, so those nodes can accept blocks that don't follow the new rules, but eventually those blocks will get re-orged away.

I don't personally like soft forks and think we shouldn't use them. The assumption that appearing in the block chain means the transaction is valid (according to everyone) is pretty fundamental. Breaking that by having transactions that are "valid" except that they're not going to actually be accepted by the majority undermines that principle. And so far there haven't been any compelling reasons to do it. P2SH has turned out to not be used so far, even though at the time it was deemed important enough to not want to wait for a scheduled hard fork. ZeroCoin isn't usable for the reasons gmaxwell cited back in May.

There are lots of ways to improve user privacy that don't involve any kind of fork at all - it'd be weird to use a complicated backwards-incompatible scheme before simpler backwards compatible schemes have been implemented.
Problem is that even if 0coin is not the most optimized solution it is the first - if Bitcoin won't adopt ASAP (yesterday) anonymity then 'Houston we have a problem'.

BTC Foundation: WRONG PRIORITIES!

SR was the first market, don't underestimate the need for anonymity. I wouldn't bet for the future of BTC in case D.P. Roberts decides to go with an alt+0coin (whether you rich & famous early adopters like it or not)!

EDIT: Not referring to Mike Hearn in particular!

You all need to start businesses that provide products and services for bitcoin, earn Bitcoins, not buy them with fiat. If the price is low... Earn more of them, then sell high. Yes, I know ideally the price of goods and services would not he pegged to the dolloar but for now it ie, and take advantage of that. Bitmit is a great place to start.
Best strategy for surviving in this chaos..
Most miners get burned because they have a very simplistic approach btw - mine and if coin goes up we sell and have profit.
Nowadays this is not enough - you must have a business to support with your coins which will help you break even and profit.
So many get rich quick guys in cryptos...
