Just know the basics outside from just creating a bitcoin address. You should also be aware of backing up the balance known as a .dat file depending on what wallet type you choose, incase something does happen you can always restore the original balance.

if you type in wallet.dat in the search area on the top right you`ll get a lot of tutorials that shows you this.
1662  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the chance of Bitcoin being 1000 us dollars in the next year on: April 01, 2015, 04:35:46 PM
$1,000 can be done next year or maybe this year depending on those bitcoin co.s investments turn out.

More services are being added so we might see a slight increase if its getting very user friendly. Or we find out more bitcoin ATM are available to new users to go buy their 1st bitcoin. Of course, this is all speculation but I figure $400ish then $300.
1663  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 week target $160 on: April 01, 2015, 04:24:34 PM
Wait where did you get your stats? can you screen cap your picture on your prediction.. is it the trendline you are seeing?

I mean it can break at $160 you say but it can also retract back upwards within mins as well back to $200ish.
1664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the upcoming crash will be huge. on: March 31, 2015, 10:19:20 PM
Lol @ "superior alt coins"

No serious player is investing in alt coins.

Also, people don't realize it but OP is a snake oil manipulator who spreads FUD to minimize the price so he can continue collecting himself

well, altcoins may constitute some part of your portfolio, if you are aware of the underlying risks and you have the stomach to accept them.
Why not?

Litecoin is the only other coin I would consider holding atm.
Well, with my post I did not mean a long-term portfolio, but short-term and more risky exposure.
Holding Litecoin in the long term wouldn't bring you much, just check where the price was one year ago.

I would also add on look at the prices of bitcoin 3 years or 2 years ago.

Still in the 200 range, and the only spike where it lifted off like crazy was the obvious mt.gox price manipulation which lead to $1,000.

Some people keep on saying it`ll rise, but I see more less events creating a user base for bitcoin.
1665  Economy / Speculation / Re: averaging down on: March 31, 2015, 10:15:34 PM
Nope. I set a limit as to what I was willing to spend and how many coins I thought would make a difference to my life in the future if it really took off and stuck to it. If I want more then I'll earn it or trade for it.

If it dies, so be it. I'm not going to chase it downwards. The idea of spending more to reduce a loss doesn't really compute for me.

Pretty smart.

I think most can learn from this, is that its better to not chase trades that may or may not go up. I tooken a similar approach with bitcoin as well, I earn most of mine and thats obviously with other misc work or signatures like 90% users are on this forum.

But I will never go buy it, and yeah some people call me a fool, but how can you call a fool when someones trying to predict the future?
1666  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 31, 2015, 10:12:02 PM
Does anyone know when they re-stock their physical miners, since everything says sold out.

Like I dont know how long I`ll wait around to get one, but I might just end up going with the cloud service they have if its taking way too long then expected.

or do you just recommend me buying it someone on the forum or ebay?
1667  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: KNCMINER trying to screw us one last time! on: March 31, 2015, 09:56:11 PM
I will not be taking the 3BTC offered, that in itself is like a kick in the nuts.

If I don't get my Titan from KNC, I am first and foremost making a police complaint, then contacting a lawyer (I have written to two already). I will then cost them time and money by showing up quite often in their office/s and I will make a big noise.

This is the absolute last fucking straw and I refuse to just stand by and/or bend over.

I`m just looking from a investment stand point. Plus lawyer is going to cost you a retainer or hrly depending the person is, and in california its expensive even small litigation process like this that would fall under small claims court.

I dont know where youre from, but if the lawyers rate is going to add up to another KNC miner like why bother?

Its just being smart and taking the 3 btc offered which is $740 total at current rate. Plus this is going through international areas where it could be a way longer process. Unless you have someone to represent you in Sweden.

I`m not trying to protect them in any form, I just assume whats the best route given the options available.
1668  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: KNCMINER trying to screw us one last time! on: March 31, 2015, 09:34:13 PM
Damn, that really sucks. But atleast you got options, then BFL crap where you get nothing at all right?

In this option, I would take the option 2, get the 3 btc and call it a day. Then buy a spoondlies hardware to make up for this loss of time, they also offer cloud mining, but seeing you want a physical hardware just get it once they are available.

I mean if you really think about it, its a better version of loss of time then having nothing at all. I still cry when I could of been a BFL victim.
1669  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What's a good miner to use at home? on: March 31, 2015, 09:27:39 PM
Most will recommend bitmain, but it depends on your budget really. If you use it as a hobby wise instead of always looking for profit, I`d say you can go with the spoondles.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.0

Thats the main thread, and they outperform the bitmain products and are more friendly in shelf space. Its price is still around bitmains though so its more of a preference plus having extra margins of difference of performance.
1670  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons Bitcoin does not replace Fiat (today March 2015) on: March 31, 2015, 06:44:05 AM
The only reason why I see bitcoin doesnt replace fiat, is because its not known as a official currency that most people trust.

Under the keyword of "trust", is a huge thing but on a global scale that once people know about it. I run into so many faces that still dont know or ever heard of bitcoin and it amazed me that I`m still in front of the early stages.

Being on this forum is like an early stage itself, since most will never know where to go besides the reddit/r/bitcoin

But going back to the fiat issue, its simply competing against the dollar that everyone knows about it thats been around for awhile. Versus trying to do all that in a short span of time in not even possible, and to get users to leave completely away from it is impossible.
1671  Economy / Services / Re: Penny Odd Job Freelancer. I do it today and I do it now. on: March 31, 2015, 06:37:07 AM
I actually have a fair amount of work, but this requires some technical stuff that I can teach.

Outside from that, do you have skills with photoshop like simple stuff at all? also, how much are your rate.

Or do you mind taking a split based on %, and take it as on-going work.
1672  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Easter Give Away Win up to 1000Paycoins on: March 31, 2015, 06:33:07 AM
Op, its great you throwing a giveaway with new alt coins you want to eventually pump up the price.

But there are sections of this forum you can do this on, click the edit, then lower left it says advance options to move topic > gambling since this is a giveaway.
1673  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Jason Boyko Prosecution, & Recovery program for PB Mining customers MARK II on: March 31, 2015, 06:30:52 AM
Its good to have threads like this, but what I`m amazed is the little to zero reactions.

Has everyone got some bit of bitcoin back or am I just hearing things? It sucks that their site is still up though, so that means every single newbie that hasnt discovered this thread or the past history with them is going to be a new victim.

Similar how BFL stopped shipping miners, and I saw a few who bought it since they saw the monarch being a huge deal to them.
1674  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Get rid of your outdated bitcoin mining hardware free! on: March 31, 2015, 06:19:49 AM
I got mining gear to get rid of like BFL 60gh/s but the cost of shipping is not worth it.

If you were local, maybe you can pick this up and do something as a hobby.

I`m only keeping 1 unit as a historic item, for bitcoin history, but have plenty of these. I might just wrap this as christmas presents and give it to my friends maybe.
1675  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we ever see BTC over $1,200 again? on: March 31, 2015, 06:15:46 AM
Much faster than you can imagine

I have a feeling that when everyone is ready, the next wave will be much larger than the previous two wave.  When daily coin supply becomes less and less, and the capital in the play is getting larger and larger, a fireworks party is approaching

Unlike last two times, the advance was mainly caused by technology advancement, the next wave will be driven by combined mining technology improvement and credit expansion when bitcoin can be mortgaged through ETF
Indeed. We should start seeing price movements in late 2015, or early 2016, just before the halving. If the ETF pops up in the meantime, we should definitely see it. Who knows where the price will stop at though. We should just be patient as always.

If yes, when?
Yes.  When Willybot 2.0 is online.
No necessarily. Although that had potential back then, even though we do not know exactly what happened.

I say if the ETF doesnt happen, I would see similar to how facebook went public on got more public funds.

It wouldnt be facebook obviously, but I`m referring to companies such as SF location esp silicon valley raising funds then selling out at IPO is old news.

So companies like Coinbase for example, would effect traditional investors thus having more skin in the game for price movement.

or it may not be so public at 1st, it would be in on sites like this https://sharespost.com/private-market-insights/sharespost-100-list/
1676  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Prediction 2015 ฿ on: March 31, 2015, 06:03:42 AM
I predict 1,000% increase if coinbase goes public.

Taking a private company, and goes public and get a ton of investors who want to be involved but not touch bitcoin directly and still make a profit.

But, who knows it may or may not happen, seeing how facebook did it why not coinbase right?
1677  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: March 31, 2015, 06:00:16 AM

Some people call it a fools dream, but then again those fools are billionaires today who doubted them.

Not calling on which way it will go, because I dont see the future nor have that ability. I know that it`ll be a potential big movement though in money if you do pass like a traditional type fund for bitcoin like an etf or a stock, eg: coinbase going public or something, then being involved in bitcoin without the crash.
1678  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: new type of scam on: March 31, 2015, 05:51:02 AM
i think i will do something on this website..

as from now, i will open a new thread, and Hunt down scammers and potential scams and make a list...

I think if we had a universal huge thread on all the scams, it would be so long like 7 pages deep.

Each one to its own category, like ponzis, from bait and switch buying bitcoin.

Not using escrow, as the first level noobish type scams, to higher level of scams like butterfly labs.
1679  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: March 31, 2015, 05:47:29 AM
best way is to build a business btc. and gain any profit from it.

way harder then you think lol.

I mean you do have a right direction I give you credit for that. But, if there is already service out there in the btc community most are using we are pretty much limited on what business we can even start ya know?
1680  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: help circle!!!!! on: March 31, 2015, 05:44:36 AM
Their support sucks, so even if you provided the right info just consider them as another coinbase.

Just like how coinbase offers to give bitcoin, but its to them reject or honor prices for their own "risks". Because even though you fulfill every requirement that they do ask, it all means nothing to them.
