1102  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Account on: August 11, 2015, 06:04:20 PM
Personally I think it would be a great idea to keep some money in bitcoin for retirement. By that age I think bitcoin could be worth many times what it is now. Keeping the other half in fiat would be advisable too but we all know money depreciated drastically especially when they keep printing more and more of it.

Yeah keeping some money in bitcoins is a great idea, as we never know what value its going to reach in the future, and rest of the money would be diversified and invest in gold, as gold can also be a good investment product in the future giving some good returns on the investment.
Nah.
Gold is currently stable and not volatile.
But Bitcoin is much volatile as currently it is not majorly accepted by the world.
So if we want good returns over investment, then we can look out for Bitcoins as after wide acceptance it's value will definitely increase as there will be just 21 million Bitcoins.

Id side with gold as well over bitcoin.

I mean bitcoin is fun and exciting, but the not sexy stuff like gold keeps me sane and not turn insane like bitcoin and its volatility being everyday influenced with simple reddit threads or some other outside elements.
1103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Maximum price bitcoin 2015 on: August 11, 2015, 06:01:33 PM
i don't think we are going to see any major change in the bitcoin market until the end of this year unless some huge news comes out of nowhere to change everything.
so i guess the price would be around the same level ($300-350) by the end of 2015

Unless some huge news comes out of nowhere?
How about a hard fork that will ravage the entire bitcoin economy and community?
My bet that we will drop below $100 within 2015 is still open, no takers yet. I wonder why...

Aren't you that guy who sold all of his bitcoins for 10 USD?

Cheesy

i am still waiting for the end of the week for the price to crash under $200.

oh wait, over a month has past from that weekend Wink

This is just a estimate, but I think it`ll take more then a month to really settle in the low $200ish and high 100ish.

Most you can see the price recovery goes back and forth within 2-3 days frame time.
1104  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin really save Greece? on: August 11, 2015, 05:58:11 PM
No bitcon wont, but Germany surely will, they deserve it, all that is happening to them because didnt control their expences, for example every employee was taking 15th  salary annually, on one work place in administration they had like 3 employees etc.   this was a result of improper monetary working.

That is very true.  Greece wants to keep the Euro.... so BTC does not really help there.

It's going to take a lot of money to help Greece, and I doubt people donate to Greece.  It will take some countries near them to help.  Some with deep deep pockets.

I dont think they`ll raise enough btc to even make any dent to their debt if they did.

Although btc can get a huge publicity though if there was a huge enough donations in the 1 millions on what btc can do that makes people turn into future buyers for us lol.
1105  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Turn $1-$100 starbucks purchases into cash when returning them (Guide) $125 ONLY on: August 11, 2015, 05:51:50 PM
Your rep doesnt help the chances of a legit sale fyi.

Esp when huge influenced people that have a ton of rep mention stuff like this, "This is a purchased account that was purchased with the intention to scam."
1106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stay away from Igot! on: August 11, 2015, 05:49:44 PM
16k of funding is some serious damage work.

It sucks to see events like this happen. But then again if services like coinbase is already out there and known that person could of avoided a tragic event like this one.
1107  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to recognize Best hosting company? on: August 11, 2015, 05:46:37 PM
Well theres plenty of hosting options out there.

Its more of the price point, and paying a yearly small time fee for it. Eventually most people get confused as how traffic will be if the website does get popular which is what a CDN is for.. and what hosting is really needed or not.

Pick the cheapest ones out there like bluehost and use their promo code if they have one, or ask for one. Then get a free CDN like cloudflare to worry about incoming traffic or future DDOS.
1108  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info Unfair Fee Deduction on: August 11, 2015, 05:43:03 PM
You should use btc core wallet (desktop) it may not be a better option for speed of the transaction.

But you can customisze the setting under the options when you send to the bare minimum almost next to nothing if youre not in a hurry.
1109  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you use cash back sites? on: August 11, 2015, 05:40:08 PM
In honest opinion the only cash back mentioned was probaly gyft that was legit.

Everyone else never really promoted their cash back or some type of reward for using their service towards bitcoin.
1110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $20 again on: August 11, 2015, 05:38:03 PM

Grin Grin Grin Ironically, it is true that bitcoin will never reach $20 again! Albeit for the opposite reason the OP intended!  Grin Grin Grin

Haha too true. We've all made bad predictions though. I remember mocking bears & saying we wouldn't go below 300 USD around January 2015. I ended up looking like an idiot. Hopefully things start to pick up soon because the current price is pretty depressing imo.

By december i think price will be around 600$, the financial crash of september is pretty predictable, alot of theories come out that support that.

If it hits then it will reach 600 or even more, who knows! But i`m confident that bitcoin is on the right path!

This can be a possible scenario, if the new exchange launches before 2016 with gemini adding more volume to the space.

But it takes more then just creating a exchange, there needs to be new source of volume of buyers outside from the existing ones. Unless they someone how bring a couple new whales take chances on their exchange.
1111  Economy / Speculation / Re: You all know it's going to crash? on: August 11, 2015, 05:33:18 PM
I hate being right.  Cheesy

You must be living your life in lies then. Not a crash dude, not a crash. I remember when someone posted that it's going to go downhill, 2 digits to be exact when the price is dropping from $230. Did we ever see 2 digits? No?

Most are delusional in their own levels, you have to respect that.

Even me, I` delusional at times too, but its just a matter of seeing the reality that they dont want to admit. The future is always uncertain, but we can only predict possible scenarios whats given to us.

And just prepare for the worst. The scenario of price tho, in my view lowest would be $100ish, and thats if our transactions were to slow down based on forks or other technical things.
1112  Economy / Speculation / Re: 44% of the network already switched to 8M blocks on: August 11, 2015, 05:29:26 PM
It's not happening yet, 44% is just a vote, but could happen soon. And if one of the two competing blockchains won't die quickly, ouch... Wink
If I were holding bitcoins now, I'd choose (temporarily) the safety of fiat. I even cancelled my low bids, just in case this turns ugly... Cool

this should be the underlying note and be taken away.

Its not happened yet.. and its only a vote. Although if the majority votes are towards higher then 44% then it says something that we need a change like someone mentioned with the mining pools that offered the 8 mb.
1113  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about this? on: August 11, 2015, 05:23:35 PM
As the bubble gets going, sentiment improves and price increases but this also spreads the available supply around to those rushing in from all corners to get rich. These people are weak hands.

If we could just agree not to sell our bitcoins to weak hands, and only sell to strong hands.  Maybe we could implementate a smart contract where we sell our bitcoins for a little less, and the buyer promises to hold them for at least a year?

No ones going to agree on when to sell and when to buy at the same time lol.

Its more of a individual basis if the person feels they need cash or dont want to be part of bitcoin anymore.
1114  Economy / Speculation / Re: ETA for the ETF? (and Gemini Exchange speculation) on: August 11, 2015, 05:21:31 PM
So let's say the ETF comes out and is successful. Would it be more profitable to hold shares of the ETF or bitcoins themselves?

They would essentially be worth the same... unless you value privacy and actual ownership which in this case holding Bitcoin is the reasonable thing to do.

One reason for Canadians to purchase ETF shares is because of something called the TFSA (Tax Free Savings Account). It's a government registered account in which you are allowed to invest a certain amount ($5k roughly) per year. It's been around for a few years and if you haven't contributed in the past then your cumulative total since 2009 would be $41,000.

The name is kind of misleading. A TFSA can be a savings account, but it can also be a brokerage account to hold Stocks, etc. So in this case you'd be able to purchase Bitcoin ETF shares and hold them in your TFSA and cash them out later tax free! For people holding BTC directly it might actually be worth selling some and repurchasing as ETF so that some of your gains will be non-taxable.

Why would you ever want to "cash-out" the gains and report them to authorities? Stop trying to legitimize this broken system.

Some people rather just have a free of guilty conscious which is what I assume.

But yeah, no one really honestly would come forward in reality to that scenario unless they were high or something since that it doesnt make sense from the start.
1115  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest personal bitcoin loss on: August 11, 2015, 05:19:06 PM
My biggest lost is 200k satoshi Sad because i lost in autobet feature in freebitcoin when i used faucet about 5 months ago. Luckly i never get scammed until today.

If youre talking about faucet money then its free money to lose already, so technically you had no loss in the end lol.

But, these stories above me like mine are personal funds. Although you point out not being scammed, theres multiple scenarios that someone can lose bitcoins even if its not scams. Like not having a strong passphrase, to importing a old address, etc.

Its still a loss for the individual despite if he got free money or not.

Its the feeling of the loss and despite the amount may not be as big, it could of been a .1 btc or something that could of been grown further.
1116  Economy / Digital goods / Re: **Starbucks gift cards-long lasting-vouches** on: August 10, 2015, 09:13:11 PM
Any chance there is vouchers left?

I`d confirm the details like you request. If not its cool, I havent bought starbucks cards like the people above me though. just like a couple times.  Tongue
1117  Economy / Economics / Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin? on: August 10, 2015, 09:10:30 PM
bitcoin can not be given to children, no matter how great you told him, he would not understand

you dont have to use bitcoin technicaly, but if you teach them how to save candy.

or something in the sense of what children want like chocolate they can figure out how to save giving them a jar, then giving a huge reward for saving. That develops a trait in them early on.
1118  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin really save Greece? on: August 10, 2015, 09:07:17 PM
If 1 bitcoin value stood for a 1 billion dollar valuation, then yes.

We can all save greece if we contributed 94 btc which would be 94 billion which is what they need to suppress permanent depression.

Cause then that 94 btc will be cashed in the form of the euro that they need.  Roll Eyes
1119  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest personal bitcoin loss on: August 10, 2015, 09:03:04 PM
my biggest loss comes for the accumulation of 2 years of gambling off and on primedice.

2.8 btc loss which could of been sitting in my wallet the entire time.

all the loss was from doing 90% bets thinking you can scalp .1 btc a week or something viable.
1120  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling twitter account with 58, 479 followers on: August 10, 2015, 09:01:03 PM
Selling account for 250$. Followers are 96% real according to twitter audit. Have active followers and it gains 100-250 followers per day. Are you interested? Lets talk about the payment Smiley

are you audited the account with free twitter audit?
AFAIK free twitter audit is not so accurate, so you need premium twitter audit to make sure your account worth $250,
however could you send me the profile link? i may want to consider this.

i wouldnt bother with this, and its more of a gamble then anything else.

if you cant verify something, why bother? its like buying a false product and wasting time plus hard earned money.
