Pacific Std Time.

I just wanted to make a post quoting this for its randomness.

Why didn't you choose 8 am to place the date barrier at Greenwich? Then, I might have found it a funny trolling attempt, as people start debating why the other half posts on the wrong date.

Edit: lol, nevermind, I think you're doing this quite well already. Saying "tomorrow" in UTC-8 at the evening, when it was already the 12th for the rest of the world... Grin

Deadline: 2011-12-13 4:00 UTC.

I'm trying to figure this out .. so the deadline is:

2011-12-12 8:00pm Pacific Std Time.
2011-12-12 11:00pm Eastern Time (my time zone)
2011-12-13 4:00am UTC

edit: wait isn't the deadline 1 hour b4 the time of prediction!?
18902  Economy / Speculation / Re: New Contest on: December 12, 2011, 08:43:44 PM
I'd say lock the thread now; the longer you wait, the closer we are to the deadline, and the easier it becomes to be "right". Those who guessed 22 hours before the deadline are going to have to be a lot luckier (or whatever) than those who guess one hour before close.

i plan to edit my post last min  Cheesy

3.29999

is this like the price is right, closest without going over wins?
by what time does my vote have to be cast? can i put in my vote 5 mins b4 8:00 tomorrow?
18904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I took a taxi today piad with VISA! on: December 12, 2011, 04:53:48 AM
I went to my mothers house today. and took a taxi to get there

When it came to pay for the ride, i pulled out my visa card. the taxi driver told me its a 15$ minimum when paying with visa.. it was the only way i could pay him so he accepted it... he tell me its 15$ minimum because first of all theirs a % fee when using visa and then some other organization takes their cut too.

so i said BITCOIN!

I told him it was a new way to pay for things... their are no fees, no charge backs, and it is not issued by any government.
I could tell he was interested, his first thoughts was "well this new thing is for-sure going to take off, Is it more a US thing?" (i live in canada)
He also asked me if there was a easy way to start accepting bitcoins
I told him to look it up on the internet

clearly their is a definite NEED for bitcoin, and overwhelming ignorance as to its existence / usefulness.

18905  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3.20 in one big buy? on: December 11, 2011, 05:56:09 AM
It seems to me like someone just bought 11k coins at 10 cents higher than they might have been able to.. A bid wall was placed at 3.195 and it got ate pretty fast. I guess we'll see what happens next.

Someone has 11k in coins i suspect they may not have wanted to actually buy. I think we can expect an hardened effort to continue raising the price. It is possible they are acquiring all these coins trying to trigger a bubble.

the bubble will not form easily.
18906  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin savings plan on: December 11, 2011, 04:18:37 AM
We have come to a state where the main net buyers of bitcoins are the ones already holding the most of them.

I think this is mostly right.  My guess, and it's just a guess, is that most of the buying we've seen over the past month and a half or so has been by people who sold bitcoins before the price went below $3 and does not represent new money.

This form has an "Average registrations per day:    63.28"
Its safe to say if you register to this form you have bought or will buy SOME bitcoins.
so I'd say bitcoin is being divided by more and more people.

Adult dvd's ->http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/site.php?site_id=729

no wait... cheaper in bitcoin doesn't sell that anymore ...

there doesn't see to be much demand for that ..

Ooh so, nothing is banned? Its simply nobody added adult sites?

I'm just asking because, bitcoin.it trade page bans quite a few things, and it would be interesting to have a more complete listing of sites accepting bitcoins...

that's right nothing is banned, but like everything else ... illegal content will be removed  (no child porn sites, or bad things like that)
18909  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction contest: when will bitcoin break $4? or will it never break $4? on: December 07, 2011, 08:10:37 PM

18911  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will the highs and lows of the next 24 hours be? on: December 06, 2011, 07:29:41 AM
Because the big bid walls are down where does everyone think we are going for the next 24 hours (highs and lows)?

My personal guess is 2.99 high and 2.81 low.

guess;  2.85850 low and 3.07480 high
2.9 low 3.2 high 3.18 close Shocked Grin

18914  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bring down the wall on: December 04, 2011, 12:26:29 AM
I had a short at 2.85 and got anihilated when the spike hit. I finally got worried and closed it at the peak of 3.15 and then opened it again at 3.05 when I saw that things were rounding down. All in all I ended up with about a 30% haircut which is kinda sucky but I was pretty worried at the plus 3 bounces.

yup its a good time to short!

lol...
18915  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bring down the wall on: December 04, 2011, 12:20:58 AM
Now everyone's laughing at me. Sad

Oh well, I hope I actually get the chance to catch the next big move.

Eh, you ain't the only one.  I got my position in, just a little later than I would have liked and I'm not set to profit yet... prolly have to throw more at it later...

I bought coins few days ago? dose this mean i win if sell it all now?  Cheesy
18916  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like the manipulator is failing you guys, muahahahaha on: December 04, 2011, 12:11:23 AM
I am tired of all the bull posts lately, with the rise to $3.00, everybody on here thought bitcoin was going to the moon.
Nobody here understands basic fundamentals. The market for buyers of bitcoins are so tiny. Most people interested in bitcoins are miners, and miners don't friggn buy, they mine. The few buyers who will now actually pay over $2 bucks now, is so small to not even cover probably 1/10th of the 7000 new bitcoins coming into the market everyday.

Then most of you bulls see the price go to $3.00, but ignore the fact that the only reason it went to $3.00 is that there is a friggn manipulator who is pushing the price up. Then you do not think it is manipulation when there is a huge bidwall that he moves around to control the price at 50,000 bitcoins. The stupidity of the bulls is just overwhelming to think that the price will be hold and be stable when it is being moved by manipulation that is clear as day. This same manipulator has failed many times holding the price above the proper market value for bitcoin.

You guys still need your lesson learned. I will enjoy the bitcoin drop all the way into the cents. Told you guys to sell into this rally and use the manipulator to make some money if he is going to try to hold the price higher then the correct value.

Your little manipuator friend massive bidwall is now 35,000 bitcoins, no more 45,000. Looks like he is losing out trying to raise the price higher. I know most of you guys don't buy bitcoins above $3.00, and don't try and help your manipualtor buddy out. Again, you guys are morons about the bitcoin price, but not morons with your actual fiat dollars.

fail
