Who went on there as Mr Bitcoin and told them it was real? Maybe you should have added that the show said they are worth $3 which they were a few weeks back but its back up to 7ish.
I am Mr Bitcoin.

the exchange rate is relevant, for new users trying to learn what it is

Haha I guarantee you they will not care. "Mr Bitcoin" should have pretended to be the real Mr Bitcoin and said it made him upset that they were mean and did not like his bitcoins.

yes maybe "EAT MY BITS! Angry" ? lol

The story went over well, for the most part, with the Bitcoin community; less so with The Good Wife community.

“This episode confused me.  Partly it was because the bitcoin story was boring, and dare I say it a bit stupid,” one commenter wrote. “What ever happened to all the ‘computer problems’ they had several episodes ago. Surely that has not just been dropped?” another viewer wrote. The Wall Street Journal dinged it for “requiring far too much attention to tedious detail.”

the world isn't ready for bitcoin?

18704  Economy / Speculation / Re: The rocket is secretly taking off. $8 price target within 18 hours on: January 17, 2012, 02:05:07 AM
The difference between $8 and $9 is 15k BTC too so that could all happen very quickly. Just like the rise to 7.

you see that 20K wall at 7.20 it will get pushed back all the way up to 10$

ZOMG! FANTASTIC EPISODE!!

Awesome way to wrap it up.  "I went online last night and purchased 1 Bitcoin.  But it didn't feel real."  "It's the future, bitch."

ya at first, it was like that for me too.... but now that I've paid for stuff, bought more, created offline wallets, watched the video about "government money"

now bitcoin feels more real then a freshly printed 20 dollar bill.

18710  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: January 16, 2012, 01:34:11 AM
The only problem I have with all this excitement is that, on net, there have not been any new dollars coming in since January 4.

It's pretty easy to see.

how do you see this?
18711  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's looking a bit bearish right now on: January 15, 2012, 11:27:55 PM

18712  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's looking a bit bearish right now on: January 15, 2012, 08:32:03 PM
Only 22k bearish BTC left below $7.20...

Edit 20k

Do you really think that's for realz?

i think their is way more then 20K asks at 7.20, we dont seem them because they dont want to be seen

you people that voted 0, is it because you don't talk to your friends about bitcoin? or they all think its a ponzi scheme?

Why do you think so?

now what?
18717  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gearing up for tomorrow on: January 15, 2012, 05:26:30 AM
I think price will decrease in the short term. Similar idea to buy on the hype, sell on the news.

it would be cool if we saw a price drop tomorrow... the good wife viewers would hear about bitcoin, look in to it and see a good buy-in opportunity.

Positive article from americanbanker.com featuring interviews from some bitcoin regulars.

The digital currency called Bitcoin was conceived as a rebellion against the banking system. But it may also present business opportunities for banks that can get comfortable with the risks.

"There is a big role potentially for banks, just as banks deal in all sorts of other currencies like Euros and yen and dollars," says Gavin Andreson.

"As long as Bitcoin is a couple thousand mathematicians playing with each other no one cares, but when real transactions start to go on, that raises the question of how we tax this," says Bruce Abramson, the intellectual-property advisory partner for Rimon Law Group Inc. of San Francisco.

"The anonymous transfer of significant wealth is obviously a money-laundering risk, and at some level we are aware of Bitcoin and other similar operations, and we are studying the mechanism behind Bitcoin," says Steve Hudak, a spokesman for the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
