with that said, if you have ever used your bitcoins to buy a product or service it is important you post a review on http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/

Hey AdamstgBit, Is there a dedicated thread where I can post a comment/constructive critique to your potentially invaluable service? I've been happy with OTC-WOT, but am amazed by the HIGH number of crypto-currency users who do not know of PGP much less use it. I would like to see a (ideally decentralized) third party rating system with strong identity (linking to an account here, OTC, facebook mug, vel similia).

There is a thread on the Project Development board, your input is welcome.

that's the problem isn't it... we what everyone to use coins, but the newbie user quickly finds out he cant us it unless he knows IRC - PGP..etc, these things seem very simple to you, But is Way to much for common users.  (i have no clue what PGP is) wiki say PGP = Pretty Good Privacy...

Thank you

18968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The new interface in Bitcoin 0.5.0 is BAD! on: November 22, 2011, 07:55:32 PM
i will contact Gavin shortly, i suggest you do the same, don't tell him what they did wrong... tell him why its important to do beta testing outside his the dev team b4 releasing new versions... in all honesty i don't give a fuck how long it take for the client to evolve i just NEED it to be perfect ever time

Mmm... perfect software...

You notice how we aren't at Bitcoin version 1.0 yet?  That the version is "0.5 BETA" ?

If you NEED it to be perfect then you're going to be waiting forever, because no software is ever perfect.

The criteria for a new 0.something release is "Is there general agreement that it is better than the last release."

There is general agreement that the new GUI is better; the huge problem with the old GUI is we have no wxWidgets GUI programmers willing to support the old GUI. There are several people contributing patches to the new Qt GUI.

I've said it before but I'll say it again:  Bitcoin is still a high-risk, high-potential-reward experiment, and you shouldn't invest time or money that you can't afford to lose. We're working hard to make it better, but we're not perfect.

understood

sry of the mean like comment.

but i do have a point, you should pass on the new client to the people on this forum b4 sending it out to the public.

we might have SOME valid feedback.... the above comments are mostly not valid, but some have good points that should be considered.

Edit:

tell him why its important to do beta testing outside his the dev team b4 releasing new versions...

He opens threads all the time asking people to do just that before every release no need to be telling him anything like that ...

ok so you do do beta testing.... we just all missed the beta testing Tongue

well keep up the good work.

I minimize my risk by never dwling the newest client every time is come out. i wait a few weeks.
18969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incentives for People to get into Bitcoins and Get Bitcoins on: November 22, 2011, 07:48:57 PM
Hello all,
...
So on that note these are some ideas I propose:

1.) Cash Merchants who still sell in the cash world  to people but give some sort of rewards back in bitcoins to go spend at a bitcoin sponsored merchants -  sort of a trialpay.com kind of take. ( read point 3 for the  trialpay.com idea)

2.) Bitcoin Merchants who still offer products for cash but give a little reward in bitcoins for cash purchases ( I know, I know we all want to live in a bitcoin world!)
...

if the merchant offers a rewards back in bitcoins, bitcoiners will start doing business with him.

most bitcoiners use cash, and all of them would like to get bitcoins as a reward for shopping.

but most businesses that have reward point, they give point that can only be spent at their store.

not sure you'd be able to get anyone to agree to this rewards back in bitcoins.

18971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The new interface in Bitcoin 0.5.0 is BAD! on: November 22, 2011, 09:18:09 AM
(some stupid user might think that the Recieve Coins button is used for getting the coins)

When i opened the new client for the first time I made this mistake, I'm sure other people will as well. "Address book" in the 0.40 client clearly separates sending and receiving address.

The Dev team MUST do beta testing with us b4 releasing the next client!

just search  "Seals With Clubs"  it's still there, http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/site.php?site_id=730

Indeed, I had assumed all were visible on the page. Are there many not showing? How to browse them?

go to home page click on "Online products" since you have a 5 star rating you appear on the first page.

if you go to the home page go under "Online products" and click "Gambling" - you are the second listing

User Friendliness is my top propitiate, soon i will lunch a better implementation

also if you own a site and have user reviews on this forum.

and you'd like to see them appear on thebitcionreview.com

prepare a list in the format:

UserName|ReviewText|(rating 1/5 if blank default is 4 stars)
UserName|ReviewText|5

I will import all the reviews at once.

*Note ReviewText cannot contain linefeeds... but you can put <br> which will give the same effect. (all html code is valid)

Thank you!

One of the things talked about on the in Roger Ver's interview on freetalklive, was the issue of trust.

how can anyone trust a bitcoin businesses?

the answer was simple and true, You just have to find out if the bitcoin business is trusted by the community.

newbies often come to thebitcoinreview.com to find products and services. (about 1,000 hits a day)

with that said, if you have ever used your bitcoins to buy a product or service it is important you post a review on http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/

18977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World's best Bitcoin exchange and auction site all in one! on: November 22, 2011, 07:12:47 AM
i don't like the idea of an online wallet with MokiMarket.  its the fact that this site could be hacked and everyone's coins stolen.

I think this applies to every online Bitcoin service.
Never keep more than is needed in an online wallet.

ok i agree.

also it would be nice to have a feature Check this box to autonomic send bitcoin to my wallet when my balance reaches xx.xxxBTC

I love the idea of easily selling your goods in order to get bitcoin . simply make the MokiMarket credit redeemable in bitcoin.

but bitcoin needs to get more consumers for this to really take off.

Which ones to avoid
  - e-Wallet services !  (we'll talk about Mybitcoin)

There is no reason to "avoid all ewallet services."  Instawallet has been amazing, reliable, and innovative. BTCinch.com is also really good, and I know the guys who run it personally - they will not be scamming anyone. Flexcoin has also been around quite a while without problems.

With ewallets, people just need to be careful and understand that they're trusting a 3rd party. For small amounts, the ease of ewallets generally outweighs the security concerns. For large amounts, ewallets are probably not prudent.

Mybitcoin was amazing, reliable, and innovative. but they got hacked.

why is Instawallet  or BTCinch any different?
18980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Bits on freetalklive.com on: November 21, 2011, 09:20:51 PM
Poker. You might mention that Seals With Cubs is agorist online poker, not really possible before bitcoin.

Interesting! not really possible before bitcoin. is what we like to hear

not sure what you mean tho, isn't there many online poker sites?
please explain, what is agorist online poker, why is it not really possible before bitcoin.

Agorist means business without permission. If you want to accept dollars for a gambling business you can be stopped as soon as regulations change or start being enforced. The main danger in ignoring these regulations is the choke-point of banks. Using Bitcoin we can securely hold players funds and pay them quickly regardless of any third-party opinions or regulations.

I forget that some may not be aware of the recent online poker developments. The major rooms had their funds seized until they stopped serving US players. Any remaining rooms serving the US have very slow cashouts, 1-2 months from what I hear.

perfect, i will defiantly talk about this
