7. They will end the government's control of the money supply.

I think we should stay away from points that are speculative.

this sounds like a grandiose claim made by a FAN
stick to the facts

at best you could say

7. We hope, They will end the government's control of the money supply.

Quote
1.  They allow anyone to have a "bank" account that CAN NOT be seized by the IRS.
2. If you are careful,  the IRS can't even know how much money you have in your account,  or that you even have an account at all!
3. They allow you to do business with whoever you want,  anywhere in the world, with complete privacy.
4. No one can block or seize your payments,  in fact,  you can even make your payments secret from everyone else in the world.
5. If you set it up properly,  no one can even track how much money you have earned, so potentially, you could report as much, or as little of it as you choose.
6. Bitcoins can not be counterfeited or inflated.
7. We hope,They will end the government's control of the money supply.

this list all seems to revolve around one point, the last point

consider only saying #7 and leaving it at that, if the radio host asks you what you mean, use the other points.

something interesting to look at
the 1997 Digialt cash proposal. http://www.simovits.com/archive/dcash.pdf

notice it been a long time people have though of make something like bitcoin... but all their ideas needed the bank to work with them, this is why all their ideas failed, and why bitcoin took off.
19022  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin and The First Amendment on: November 18, 2011, 05:17:29 PM
In the United States, is Bitcoin constitutionally protected from the federal government by The First Amendment? Couldn't the transfer of information through the blockchain be considered speech?

Does the federal government even have the constitutional authority to regulate something such as Bitcoin?

All they have to say is "national security" and they can do anything
19023  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 btc to whoever predicts the high/low for the next 4 hrs starting from 2:53 on: November 18, 2011, 07:41:55 AM
Hmmm, as it stands, I believe I win. I predicted the exact high and low, 25 minutes before the end. Because it's 25 minutes, my error is divided by a small number, which would normally make it rather large (lower score = better), but zero divided by a small number is zero.
If this is run again, I suggest people are only allowed to vote up to 2 hours in  Cheesy

As for who made the best graph, I'll leave that up to ineededausername.

y did no one see this coming... Roll Eyes
19024  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 btc to whoever predicts the high/low for the next 4 hrs starting from 2:53 on: November 18, 2011, 06:21:18 AM
No cutoff, but people submitting close to the end get a disadvantage.

What disadvantage would that be? Seems to me it is a pretty big advantage since you could tell what the previous highs and lows were.

the formula he pulled out of his ass put them at a disadvantage
19025  Economy / Speculation / Re: how many bitcoin do you own? on: November 18, 2011, 05:23:43 AM
i would say most people hold less then 250.

actually looking closely its about 50/50 if you don't count the 10% that has no coins...

come on people no coins? BUY in now... price is cheep, have a little fun!
19026  Economy / Speculation / Re: who would pay me to crash the market? on: November 18, 2011, 04:58:47 AM
i don't think you have anything to dump other than feces.

You are correct, sir.

I don't have to dump anything.  I can crash the entire market by pure force of will.  People are understandably skeptical, so my offer includes a 100% money-back guarantee if I fail.

25BTC with a warranty from me, or 200BTC and no assurances at all from some guy named bitcon.  Choose wisely, people.

how are you going to do this?
19027  Economy / Speculation / Re: who would pay me to crash the market? on: November 18, 2011, 04:51:57 AM
trying to get paid in BTC to crash the BTC market.

ironic.
19028  Economy / Speculation / Re: who would pay me to crash the market? on: November 18, 2011, 04:34:14 AM
Do you know what would be a good way to crash the price of Bitcoins on MTGox? Get a whole bunch of coins from a bunch of idiots and then sell them all on MTGox. It's pretty damn obvious.

if you could get bitcoin from random idiots... bitcoin would be worth a hell of a lot more then 2.2
19029  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 btc to whoever predicts the high/low for the next 4 hrs starting from 2:53 on: November 18, 2011, 04:26:58 AM

19032  Economy / Speculation / Re: who would pay me to crash the market? on: November 18, 2011, 04:00:30 AM
how many bitcoin you have to dump in the market?
19033  Economy / Speculation / Re: So what are the real reasons bitcoin fell so low? on: November 18, 2011, 03:52:31 AM
as a wise man once said... "suckers.. we need more suckers."
right...

We need Big questions answered

like, is bitcoin legal?

once these question can be answered, demand will go up. and a new speculative bubble will form and this time it will go higher then ever b4
19034  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 btc to whoever predicts the high/low for the next 4 hrs starting from 2:53 on: November 18, 2011, 03:41:39 AM

19037  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Much Lower are We Going? Already at $2.25 !!! on: November 17, 2011, 07:05:52 AM
So if the trend persists how long before BTC goes sub-zero?

[sinking with the ship bought at 19$]

its not going to go much lower ... Maybe we'll see 1$
bubble #2 is on its way no worries
19038  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Ebay Stores Competitor using Bitcoin Payment on: November 17, 2011, 06:59:55 AM
I think there are some sites that will already place an order for you on Amazon if you send them the BTC for your order.

This idea has a different emphasis - It's difficult for new users to acquire bitcoin.  This idea is about making it easy for people to sell their old items, thus gaining some BTC.

gr8 idea, but their are many sites that offer this service

check out the complete list
http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/sites.php?catid=4&subcatid=26

make a better implementation and corner the market!
19039  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: <Your project goes here> on: November 17, 2011, 06:40:05 AM
look at http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/

their are lots of interesting sites listed, many of the ideas behind these sites a gr8 but the implementation is not so hot.

make a better implementation of one of these ideas?

like this idea http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/site.php?site_id=509
19040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in France: first legal decision directly related to Bitcoin? on: November 17, 2011, 06:06:17 AM
The Banque de France is the regulator - it's decision effectively legally defines MtGox as a money transfer business and prohibits it from operating without a licence.

So it seems that formally the Banque de France acted in its capacity as a regulator (not law-maker). It's effectively prohibiting mtgox from operating due to the existing law that disallows money transfer businesses to operator without a license by classifying mtgox as a money transfer business. Right?
Thanks for the info - should have read further back.

So they can only do this if they are somewhat certain that Bitcoin was in fact covered by existing legislation. I could imagine there's a good chance of successfully disputing this interpretation of the laws, considering the unique nature of Bitcoin.

Guess we'll have to wait and see... any day now...

we can't simply say "the unique nature of Bitcoin, GIVES us the right to do what ever the fuck we want" ... that's just not cool

we have to work with them, to define bitcoin in the law book.
