801  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: August 04, 2023, 09:01:12 AM
Many people think that happiness is only measured by money, in my opinion this is the wrong thought because many people are depressed, stressed to suicide because of money, when someone has a business with 1000 employees, almost every second there will be an issue that makes it difficult for him to eat and difficult sleep so that it makes him tortured

To get happiness we not only need money but also love from family, people around, comfort in life...and many other factors, but if you don't have the money you can't be happy. If you don't have money, your wife can't wear beautiful clothes, no jewelry, your kids can't eat delicious food and are inferior to her friends...are you happy?

In business, a big boat will have big waves, although business comes with a lot of pressure and risks, it is the dream of many people including you. Between choosing to be an employee or a boss, I bet you no one wants to be an employee. You want to succeed, you need to make trade-offs, you want what others can't have, and you need to do what others can't do.

Agreed, it's a simple statement about money but it's true to the facts. There are some people who say that money is not everything and happiness is not about money, it may make sense but we have to admit that everything needs money, just like what you said. A person will experience difficulties in life if they have less finances, there will be many impacts such as stress because they cannot meet the needs of the family and so on.

The higher you climb the tree, the bigger the wind will be. Many people dream of being successful but it's just their dream, meaning they want their dream to come true but they don't do anything to achieve it. I believe they want to be the boss, not the employee. Many people want to be in this position without realizing that being a leader in a big company is not easy, there is a lot of pressure and great risk in it.

I don't want to offend, but I want to be blunt that people who say money isn't everything and can still be happy without money. It is because they are stuck with no way to earn more money, they hide from the truth and they accept their fate without finding a way. I also have a friend like that, many years ago he was quite poor compared to us, he always knew his peace and said that he did not need much money, just enough to live. But now, he has become well off, and he is so focused on making money that he doesn't have time to see us on weekends. No one doesn't want a lot of money, they just haven't found a way to make more money.

Many people want to become rich and have a lot of money but are lazy, do not dare to take risks, and always disparage the rich. Simply jealousy and envy, there is no one who does not want to live a rich life. The truth hurts, but I want to be frank.
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 03, 2023, 09:27:04 PM
I have to disagree with this part. More and more tests are getting screwed by rain as time passes thanks to global warming, climate change etc. I feel that this issue will continue getting worse sadly.

Agreed on this. Climate change is playing havoc in test cricket. A number of tests are ending up as draw and ultimately it impacts the popularity of this format. None of the fans like it, when they spend 5 consecutive days watching a single match and even after that it ends up as a draw. There needs to be a reserve day for test matches, in case there is rain interruption. Ashes would have been a lot more exciting in case the fourth test wasn't washed away. England was having an upper hand and they would have won the series 3-2 in case there was no interruption.

Cricket already has a problem with rain interruption. It is not like football where we can keep on watching the players play even if it does rain. Unlike its counterpart, cricket's graceful play is inevitably halted when the heavens release their aqueous lamentations, I meant raining. That is already a big problem with one-day international cricket. And when it is a five-day test match, there is a big chance that the result of the match is going to be different when rain interrupts.  I think it is time for ICC to actually let go of test cricket. Instead of spending time and resources on test cricket, I think they really should spend those things for the t20 format. In this day and age, everyone wants to see the winning team have more skill compared to luck.
803  Economy / Economics / Re: what do we thinking about investment target? on: August 03, 2023, 08:53:42 AM
I'd argue whether having a bank savings account is even what you're calling it, meaning low risk, low return. You're after all holding money with a third party, which is even worse than holding gold, or real estate. With these things you have full control, but with fiat money on a savings account, you can't withdraw whenever you want. You have a certain period during which the money must be frozen, or all the profit is lost. Then, when you finally get your money, you find out that you barely even got anything in return because usually this profit is only 1 or 2% above the inflation rate.

I highly agree, besides if our bank deposit exceeds the insurance policy and the banks goes bankrupt, anything that exceeds the amount insured will automatically be lost.  So I never considered banks as an example of low-risk, low-return because there is almost no profit when we save money in banks prior to inflation.  Putting our money in the bank is like putting our money in a safe box but with a third party controlling it and we have to ask for permission if we wanted to withdraw it.

If both of you read carefully what OP wrote, he emphasized "never leave money in a bank" and as I understand it, he meant non-bank investments like gold, real estate, and stocks...But I will partially agree with you two that we shouldn't put a lot of money in the bank because it will only wear down our wealth. But that doesn't mean we will invest and not have any savings, life is full of surprises, so always have a small savings for that. And not depositing money in the bank does not mean that the bank will be useless, if we need to borrow money for business or something else, the bank will be where we need to go because no one will lend us money except banks.

Seems we may finally make a move for Lavia, the 19 year old Belgian international defensive midfielder. Looks like we were waiting for the Fabinho money to land before making a 2nd bid.

@FabrizioRomano
Liverpool second bid for Roméo Lavia, in the region of £45m package and ready since last week — to be sent soon. 🔴
https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/1685970572788834304

Liverpool were reluctant to meet Southampton’s £50m valuation, however that stance has been changed by the interest of Fabinho & departure of Jordan Henderson (@_pauljoyce)

The midfield rebuild coming together, we have sold Henderson and Fabinho soon. Keita, Ox and Firmino released.
The midfield will be Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Lavia with Thiago, Jones, Elliot and Bajcetic on the bench. With any luck we get a centre back too.

Well, Liverpool is definitely making some positive changes. They are trying to make the whole team made out of younger players. I know that the things which are happening currently in the marketplace. It is better to bring in potential players who are going to cost less for the club instead of bringing in players who are going to cost a huge amount of money. Because there is no certainty that that player who is going to cost a lot of money will actually perform well.

Well we can also say that Liverpool is very cheap. Otherwise they could have brought in expensive players. But anyway, I also like this move as well.

Barcelona looked stunning when they beat Real Madrid. One of Barcelona players immediately became hot news on social media. He is Fermin Lopez, who is one of the graduates from the La Masia academy who performed quite well in yesterday's El Clasico match. I think Xavi will continue to provide opportunities for young players to show their talent in pre-season games.

Barcelona managed to beat Real Madrid with a big score which made Barcelona even more confident that next season Barcelona would be able to defend the title. But for real madrid they have gaps they can improve in this transfer window, If Real Madrid don't do it I think Barcelona will easily beat them next season.

I hadn't heard of Fermin Lopez before. There was nothing that caught my attention. But after he scored a goal, I did some research. He is a very young and ambitious player.
If he gets a chance to play, I'm sure he'll improve a lot. May be mentioned a lot in the coming years Smiley

@xzone well he is only 20 years old. And he is certainly showing good potential. I have to say Barcelona is doing a good job with bringing in young players and old players which are not going to cost them too much money. Barcelona is certainly trying to make the squad a balanced one. I cannot say that they have already succeeded in doing that. Nonetheless, they diligently strive to optimize their meager funds, making prudent decisions for the betterment of the squad.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 31, 2023, 12:02:45 PM
Arsenal and Bayern Munich are both after Brentford goalkeeper David Raya now. However I don't think Raya would prefer Arsenal to Bayern Munich. Above all else Arsenal already have a main goalkeeper who is Ramsdale. Raya would most probably be waiting in the subs if he goes there. But it isn't the same situation as for Bayern Munich. Because they are about to part ways with Sommer who has been playing in Neuer's place. Inter are close to sign him so Bayern Munich need a new goalkeeper.

Raya will be the main goalkeeper of the team there. Because Neuer hasn't still recovered fully and it is doubtful how good he would continue to perform either.

It will be pretty interesting to see where the goalkeeper is going to go. Between arsenal and Bayern Munich I don’t think it is a very hard choice for the goalkeeper. It will be better for him to go to Bayern Munich. There is a high chance that he’s going to be the main goalkeeper in that club. But Arsenal is looking for him to have a goalkeeper as a replacement for the main one. It is not impossible for a goalkeeper to actually get in June. So Arsenal is trying to have more options in hand.

But Bayern Munich is in genuine need of a goalkeeper. So going to Bayern Munich is going to be the best decision for him. At least so far it seems that way.
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you use Bitcoin to pay everything online? on: July 31, 2023, 03:22:57 AM
snip

Bitcoin has gone through a lot of processes that most of its holders have placed a high value on Bitcoin as an asset rather than as a currency, and they will rather use paper money to oay fo goods and services and hold their Bitcoin.

Although bitcoin is still not popular in being used as a payment method, I doubt that when it becomes a full-fledged payment method, will people use it? I mean, everyone knows the value of bitcoin will increase over time, and most of us want to hold or use bitcoin as a speculative tool. Very few people want to use or spend their bitcoin, so even if it becomes a payment method, I don't think people will use it.

People always make excuses that it's not legal yet so they can't use it to pay. But the main reason is that no one wants to squander a valuable asset, or frankly, we care more about bitcoin's profits than anything else it brings.

Secondly, the World Cup is being played in the USA. So making the World Cup more competitive and one of the biggest is certainly going to bring in a good amount of money.
You cannot expect a competitive World Cup with 20 teams who does not have the skill level anywhere near to compete against the top 5 teams. The venue is US and the only country that does not have a fan base for Football and Cricket and may be ICC is trying their best to tap that part of the market. There is a newfound interest in Football and Cricket among the general public in US after lockdown as many popular social media influencers from US started posting about the sport and reviewing the videos.

I am certainly hoping to see some good upset matches being made in this World Cup. remember when the last time a lot of teams competed in the World Cup? It was the 2007 ODI World Cup. And a lot of things that are really weak in power were actually able to beat some very powerful teams in the World Cup. So I am expecting something like that to happen in this World Cup as well. I am not saying every match is going to be competitive.

I think we all know that in any match that the USA team is going to play, it’s basically going to be a free win for The other team. But it will certainly be interesting if a team like Scotland or some associate team actually ends up beating a team like India or England. I also want to say that for a long time, we have been seeing not enough number of teams in the World Cup. At least that is being fixed. So let’s just not complain about it and see what happens.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 30, 2023, 12:35:11 PM
OK guys.. we have a bit more clarity regarding the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup now. These are the teams who have qualified so far:

Hosts:
1. United States (lol.. the only way ICC can include this shit team in the tournament)
2. West Indies

2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup: Top 8:
3. Australia
4. England
5. India
6. Netherlands
7. New Zealand
8. Pakistan
9. South Africa
10. Sri Lanka

ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings:
11. Afghanistan
12. Bangladesh

Europe Qualifier:
13. Scotland
14. Ireland

East Asia-Pacific Qualifier:
15. Papua New Guinea

Remaining slots: 5 (1 from Americas Qualifier, 2 from Asia Qualifier, 2 from Africa Qualifier).

Well actually, it is good to see the ICC at least making a World Cup with 20 teams. Personally, I concur with the notion that designating the United States as the host nation is truly their sole avenue for World Cup qualification. I think this World Cup is going to be played by 20 teams for two reasons.

First of all look who is getting a free pass to the World Cup. If it was anything less than 20 teams in the World Cup, a lot of teams were going to miss out who are actually far better than USA in cricket. I still think that somethings are better compared to the USA who are not playing in the World Cup, but that’s another story.

Secondly, the World Cup is being played in the USA. So making the World Cup more competitive and one of the biggest is certainly going to bring in a good amount of money.
811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My easy way to teach your kids bitcoin. on: July 30, 2023, 04:17:04 AM
.....If you have a cartoon on bitcoin, you can put it for them to watch and after watching, ask them if they enjoyed it. Tell them that whenever they watch the cartoon, you will give them a reward, and it should be the something that they like most. Maybe candy, ice cream whatever that you know that makes them happy when they eat it,but something easy to afford. .....
Watching cartoons has become one of the children's favorites. They even sometimes learn a lot of things from the videos they watch and it seems they will also get interested in watching cartoons. but again, Bitcoin for kids, is mainly just for introduction. but it's not time to talk about techniques or anything else. especially regarding investment or trading. Just introduced that there is such a thing as Bitcoin with an easy explanation. especially if there is a cartoon like that, it will be played by kids more easily.
Thats the reality happening around. Kids easily grab through the visual things than someone repeating the same for them. If there is a cartoon and a character that use bitcoin then easily the kids will come to know about bitcoin. Maybe if the character is to buy more things and if the character use bitcoin for the purchase then the kids will come to know that bitcoin can be used to buy things. This way little by little basic understanding can be made among the kids and rest need to be left for them based on their understanding and need.

And then what happens next? I mean, when your child learns that bitcoin can also be used as fiat that can be used to buy goods, candy, toys...And you will show them how to use bitcoin and show them how to invest in bitcoin when they are just giddy kids and like to watch cartoons? If your aim is just to let your kids know about the existence of bitcoin, you don't need to be so verbose and complicated. And if your goal is to get them to be bitcoin investors like you when they are too young, then I don't think you're a good father for forcing your children to accept things beyond their means.
812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if salaries were paid in BTC on: July 30, 2023, 04:03:17 AM
Well, since I'm paid in BTC through signature campaign I think I can already consider to have my salary paid in BTC, so I have a personal experience on this matter.

In my opinion it's great. There are more pros than cons. I just need to exchange into fiat money I'm going to use for daily expenses, while the rest of the money remains in BTC for investment and long term gains purposes.
If you get your salary in fiat you can also do this easily and quickly, and I don't think have too much of a difference between the two. You can also convert your fiat salary to bitcoin immediately upon receipt and the rest to spend.

Cons consist in having to pay transactions and middleman's fees, what decrease your liquid wage and the well known volatility which can push your money's value downside on short term (although the opposite is also possible, what would be interesting in this situation).
This is the downside and also the reason I wouldn't support it. Our daily lives are tied to fiat and it would be inconvenient if our wages were bitcoin and its volatility.

I would support if it was a side job and paying in bitcoin could be a great idea. But if it's our main job and we need to use that paycheck on a daily basis, then that's not as great as many people are saying.

Link to news
https://finbold.com/bitcoin-now-accepted-at-60000-ev-charging-stations-across-europe/

So, now bitcoin will be accepted as  a mode of payment at 60000 EV stations across Europe. Personally, I feel this is going to have a very positive impact on crypto adoption. More countries will hopefully take similar decisions soon.
This is great news. But let’s see how sustainable this news is. Because let’s just accept the reality that everything starts with big and surprising news story but we can’t tell as to how long the effect takes place.

In terms of bitcoin adoption, I think this is a good start. But still, we cannot expect for its price to be instant bullish   seeing a lot of breaking news are only good at the beginning but eventually has lost its essence later on.

With this news, we shouldn't expect it to create an immediate bull run or trigger a strong bull run. I mean, if we are speculating this is not the kind of news that we can take advantage of for profit, but if we are supporting the bitcoin revolution, we should be happy about this. Because from the early days bitcoin was suspected and hated but now things are changing for the better. Countries, organizations, businesses are gradually becoming bitcoin-friendly. This shows that the revolution named bitcoin is going smoothly and beyond expectations. As I said, I don't see any positive movement for bitcoin with this news, but in the long run, I believe it will have a positive impact on institutional and country adoption of bitcoin.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 29, 2023, 04:17:47 PM
Juventus will not be in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season. They were banned from this trophy due to Financial Fair Play rules. In addition, UEFA fined Juventus 20 million Euros. Due to this decision, Fiorentina will join the UEFA Conference League instead of Juventus. I think it must have been a shocking decision for Juventus. They already had a points deduction in the league last season. And that's why they finished the league in 7th place. Now they have been banned from the UEFA Europa Conference League. They are really going through an unfortunate process far from their former glory days. I hope they get over this bad process quickly and start the season well.

After UEFA banned and punished Juventus I think Fiorentina and Ac Milan are both taking good advantages because we know if Juventus didn't lose points Ac Milan couldn't be in the champions league and if Juventosare had not been banned from the UEFA Europa Conference League this season, Fiorentina couldn't be in this tournament.

Well, what can you say? This is life. In the tournament, it should have been Juventus. But instead, they are just going to sit around and watch other teams participate in this tournament.

At the same time. I also believe that these are the reasons why Juventus is going to be fired up this season to perform better. It’s like they have something to prove to everyone. I hope they will be able to perform well end. Hopefully they will perform better compared to what they did in the last season. I am not saying that their performance was not good in the last season. But they will have to perform better in the season. They will have to at least finish in the top four.
815  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is improving I guess? on: July 29, 2023, 05:33:36 AM
I think lately the bitcoin market is getting better where now the bitcoin price is back above $30k after being stuck in the $25k-$26k area a few month ago. It looks like the current price hike will continue. So, let's see if the current price hike will continue to at least $40k or if it goes back down significantly.
Now we are at the end of July where the Bitcoin price is still stuck in the $29K area and it looks like that is the price Bitcoin will end this month. If you are expecting a price of $40K, I think you need to see how Bitcoin will move in the next month so that everyone can make more informed predictions, especially for $40K because I still don't think that a price of that size will be seen next month. Especially at the end of this month Bitcoin is still stuck in the $29K area.
I don't see $40k is impossible unless if he says this month. But granting that he is expecting this year, I guess that is really achievable.
Yes, we saw that we are stuck to the $29k - $30k level but this meant that we can never see any improvement in the coming days because I know there will be changes. As the halving comes closer, the more I believe that prices will improve due to the surge in demand. In fact, this is what we experience in the past halving which is why I have the guts to say that reaching $40k is likely possible to happen this year.

If you're talking medium term $40,000 isn't really hard for bitcoin but in the short term I don't think so. And I also disagree with you or many opinions that the closer the halving is, the more the demand for bitcoin will increase and hence the price will increase. If you check the most recent halving in 2020, then before the halving, bitcoin was also heavily dumped and after the halving, bitcoin didn't increase in price immediately either. The bulls will only appear some time after the halving and if I'm not mistaken 1 year later. Therefore, the notion that the price will increase as the halving approaches is incorrect.
816  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Investors Confidence in Bitcoin💪 on: July 29, 2023, 05:08:54 AM
Hopefully during the Bitcoin Halving of 2024, Bitcoin will break all previous records and reach a peak price.

What is your opinion on this?

Though bitcoin has showed us it's potential in a long term perspective, but you should not put all your hopes in setting such a short timeframe. I know it's the bitcoin halving that your thinking of, like everybody is anticipating, but there is no guarantee if it can hit the 6 digit figure or even hit your own target. Nobody knows it, so you should make yourself a little more confident longer than 2024, there's more to come for sure, it's just a matter of time if you're looking to have financial breakthrough. Afterall, we're just merely speculating here but with a good reference from bitcoin's past prices. So far it's been appreciating and that's what makes everyone in crypto space confident in the next 5-10 years or so.

I agree with what you said, it seems that people are putting too much emphasis on and putting all their faith in 2024. This is not true if not they are wrong because when it comes to the future we can't be sure of anything, and everything is just a guess and we don't have any proof for our guess. It would be a serious mistake to be too subjective about our predictions.

Historically, we might believe that the halving was the catalyst that helped bitcoin generate a new ATH but it is not the only factor that gave us a bull market. Remember that bitcoin has never experienced a sick economy like it does today, and the market is also a part of the economy. So it will depend a lot on the economic situation, not halving is all we need.
Not only bitcoin, but with any investment, long term investment should always be our vision.
817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price guess, 2023 on: July 29, 2023, 04:07:27 AM
Well, the speculations are that the Bitcoin price might see a significant drop from $29k-$30k and plunge to below $20k in the coming months. I think the price of BTC at the end of 2023 will be somewhere between $15k to $22k (I might be wrong). We will see a new ATH in 2024 after halving.

if the fed still raising rates yes maybe we will see another correction but i don't think it will hit the 15K but I might be wrong too  Grin

today price still held at 29K level

I don't think the Fed rate hike is still having a big impact on the market anymore. Since the beginning of the year, the Fed has raised interest rates twice and it seems that the market no longer overreacts every time interest rates are announced. So I think if the market has a big correction, the cause will not be the Fed. I still predict that the market will not rush to the upside from now on and still have a few corrections before and after the halving. But I don't believe bitcoin can drop below $20k again, I mean, we made a bottom for this bear season and it's over. Those who are still waiting for a lower low to buy may have missed it.

Last season Juventus were just unlucky through the point deductions they experienced throughout the season, because if Juventus did not experience this last season, Juventus might be in a more formidable competition next season. But that is a story that has passed so right now what Juventus needs to focus on is being able to bring more significant changes to the team before the official transfer window closes.
That's it, you are right about Juventus. I think Juventus were really unlucky last season because they had to receive a point penalty because of their past mistakes. They failed to qualify for the Champions League due to a point deduction, but Juventus' performance last season should be appreciated.

In my opinion, Juventus will try their best to improve their performance next season and compete in the title race. Juventus is a team that has a great history in Serie A, but they have fallen behind in recent seasons. Napoli, Milan, Inter, Roma and Atalanta will also join in the title race, so Juventus won't be alone there.

Anticipating substantial progress from Juventus in the upcoming season seems to be a common sentiment among many individuals. But I just want to tell everyone that it is certainly not going to be easy. The financial situation of Juventus is not the best right now. So it is easy to predict that they are not going to bring in a lot of new players who are going to affect the team drastically. So Juventus will have to play basically with almost the same team they had last season. And I don’t think that is ideal for any club.

But at the same time, you said that without only a few inconsistencies Juventus was a really good team in the last season. They performed really well. I think they will be able to perform well in this season. The target for them should be to finish in the top four.

Let’s not forget, Juventus will play in the Europa conference league qualifier.

Beşiktaş found the player they were looking for for the left wing. There are news that an agreement has been reached with Milan for Ante Rebic. Only 500 thousand Euro will be paid for the 29-year-old player. The player will receive an annual salary of 2.5 million Euro. This will be a super transfer for Beşiktaş.

This is genuinely a great transfer made by Besiktas. Yeah, they got a great player. I have to say a great player because considering the amount of money they have paid for him, it is almost nothing compared to what they are going to get.

Rebic played 23 league matches with Milan last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists. We expect a contribution of at least 10 goals and 10 assists in the Turkish league. He should perform much better here.

I hope he will be able to perform better. Because everyone is going to expect him to perform better. A player who has been playing at the top of the competition in the Italian league is obviously expected to perform better in the Turkish league. The competition is going to be a lot less. So I believe he will have an easier time to shine.

If you are aware that your neighbor living next door is into drug dealing and he come seek your advice how to buy Bitcoin, will you teach him?

What will you do if something like this is happening around you? Why would a drug dealer want to learn Bitcoin if not for a safer haven for running the business?

My mind isn't settled as I keep thinking different things, what is on your mind readers?
I don’t see any reason at all why you shouldn’t teach the pros and cons of cryptocurrency or bitcoin like you put it to someone who has the zeal and is willing to learn. It doesn’t matter if it’s about the said person using it for his underground lifestyle or not, that still isn’t going to make him not continue in the drug trade but, it could be a reason for him to stop.

I don’t know of any drug dealer that is very excited about the trade. Of course the money comes but the things they have to handle as per security issues, rival wars and the safety of there family is something they have to look out for and when it happens that they find this new means of investing and even making a good enough fortune, it could serve a reason as to why they have to quit the trade.

I don't think what you're saying is what the OP is thinking. What the OP is worried about is that if he teaches bitcoin to that neighbor, it means he has a close relationship with drug criminals, and if that neighbor is arrested for drug trafficking. Bad things are bound to happen to the OP. If it were me, I wouldn't care what they used bitcoin for but teaching bitcoin to criminals could make me an accomplice and possibly jail, so I wouldn't do that. I need to protect my own safety before thinking about helping others.
