Yes, if you know what you are doing. If you are not so familiar with basic electronics, then VRobb's advice would be the best one. Try another PSU.

That indeed sounds like the PSU is not working steady. If you have a multimeter, you could measure the output voltage and see what is happening.

Yeah 51ASIC is taking some margin for them, so buying directly or via some other reseller could possibly be more reasonably priced.

Yeah I tried searching as well, but I was not able to find more information

Seems like more manufacturers are hopping on the miner train. This is good news. I found this miner for sale at 51ASIC, which is a big reseller for miners in Russia. It uses 16nm chips by Bitfury. Manufacturer is Pantech from South Korea, which is more commonly known for making mobile devices. Hash rate: 8.5 Th / s ± 5% Power consumption: 1 kW Process technology: 16nm Dimensions: 300mm (L) x 125mm (W) x 160mm (H) Operating conditions: 0 ° C to 40 ° C LINK: http://51asic.ru/products/pantech-sx6 Any thoughts, comments?

I sent an e-mail to Hotmine and asked if I could buy one Hotmine X5 upgrade kit and do a quick review here at the forum. I still have good old Antminer S1 and I'm going to get Beaglebone Black if the deal goes through.
|
|
|
Wow, this is the most power hungry Antminer so far.

|
Faulty board, time for a warranty repair (Bitmain).
If you have no warranty left, then it is best to contact BitmainWarranty in Colorado USA.
|
|
|
Maybe there is self-mining in process because of the DASH price rising?
Or possibly there is a lack of chips needed for miners.

This is also S9 related, so I thought to share this here as well. If there is someone with a desire for non-autotune settings, be brave and please report if you get same results as I had Originally posted in the R4 thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1597639.msg18267781#msg18267781Well, this is an interesting find and I thought I'll share it with you. I had a problem booting my Antminer R4 8.0 Th/s, batch 2, autotune-model. So I went looking in here: Bitmain.com: Three Ways to Restore Factory Settings (R4/S9/T9) https://enforum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/3957I used the last option in the list, IP Reporter button restore. Usage: Please power off the miner, then hold down the IP Reporter and don’t release it. At the same time, please power on the miner. Releasing the IP Reporter after 5 seconds, the machine will automatically restore factory settings. My miner restored with firmware Aug. 9 2016 and autotune settings were gone. I am now suddenly able to control frequency and custom fan settings. This was not my original problem, but I'm happy with it. My original problem was that the miner jammed somehow in the booting process and didn't even show up in my router ip list.

No. You have understood it all wrong. Read this for start https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/MiningThat wiki has all kind of information about bitcoin and bitcoin mining. Also there is a lot of existing threads here at the forum for you to find info from. Bitcoin mining today is done with ASIC hardware, for example Bitmain Antminer S9 or Canaan Creative AvalonMiner721.

As long as it is delivered to door, it doesn't really matter which carrier you use. I just shipped (and already received it back fixed) Antminer R4, the whole miner unit to warranty repair in China, using common postal service Posti (Finland). I paid for EMS delivery. Final step of that journey: Hongkong Post delivered my package straight to the address. This cost me 70 EUR.

... I bought it as you advised and it works great, but it shows under the FAN3 that it's RPM is 30.600, is it possible that it can't resolve the speed and is working on 100%?
Possibly, I must say that I have not run into this kind of problem. Does changing the fan connector in use make any difference?

Unfortunately drivers and packages needed for wifi in Openwrt are not compatible with Canaan's custom Openwrt firmware. I also tried to have wifi in my controller. I tried installing packages in Canaan Openwrt via command terminal with no results. Then I also tried having original Openwrt with wifi packages and install Canaan packages on that, but that was a failure as well. It shouldn't be that hard for Canaan though to add wifi packages to their version, since all needed are already available via Openwrt repositories.

You can find some used ones here at the forum in the marketplace/computer hardware section.
Use escrow for the payment.

It's fucking dirty to have such "good PR" news by helping that guy and in the same time lie about miner rewards (tx fees specifically).

I'm also from SA :p mining with just over 3PH. I've been mining at BCmonster lately as I partnered with them. Why don't you give us a shot and mine there ? The website is www.bcmonster.com Please PM me more info. At the moment we are on Antpool but we think of joining Kano. Pros and Cons? Thank you Anything is better than Antpool. I'd recommend checking out Kano and Slush for example and see what fits you the best.
