3021  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS - Antminer L3+ (Lot of 5) - May 5th Ship Date on: April 25, 2017, 07:13:53 PM
If you are not interested go play on someone else's thread.  I have done plenty of business with many people on this forum and they know who I am.   This thread caters to those people.

It is perfectly logical from my perspective.  I buy 15 units then sell a portion of them at a premium to ROI instantly.  Then I am mining free.

Well, if you are catering to the same people you've previously traded with...all what 8 of them? Then it might be more effective for you to just message them personally about your loan request. And to be honest the forum members you've previously traded with might actually be interested in that...

Once you have a physical good then you are more than welcome to sell it here.

Otherwise you're just opening a channel for you to scam some unsuspecting noob.

NO ESCROW NO ITEM? = SCAM

Also, please move your loan request to the appropriate channel so that you can get painted red as is appropriate.
That is some asshole behauviour and false accusation as kilo17 has nothing but positive trust ratings so far.
He has clearly declared what he is selling.
3022  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Themaltake Toughpower 1200W Gold burnup after 30 hours powering Avalon A6 on: April 25, 2017, 06:16:54 PM
Among the server power supplies, my recommandation for the Avalon 721 or 741 is HP DPS 1200 FB.
Sidehack here at the forum has them, packed with the breakout board and PCI-E cables.

In ATX PSU area EVGA is a good choice.

Bitmain APW3 is also pretty reliable choice.
3023  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining in Africa? on: April 25, 2017, 01:12:19 PM
Building solar power in Sahara is a BIG MONEY project.
And there is several challenges to come over with, heat and sand for example.

It would be cool though to see big ass solar power plant in Sahara and HVDC (high-voltage direct current) connection to power big part of the world  Cool
3024  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BitCoin Machine for $500 and how much would i make from it? on: April 25, 2017, 11:40:25 AM
If it is strictly a question about what is the maximum hash rate miner you can get with max. 500 USD budget, then I would say the answer is a secondhand Antminer S7.
First find a reliable guy selling the S7, then find the power supply, then you know the cost and you can see the help above and try to estimate if you can make profit with the Antminer S7.
3025  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BitCoin Machine for $500 and how much would i make from it? on: April 25, 2017, 11:14:51 AM
1. Find out your running costs (electricity, solar system cost etc.) for mining.
2. Select the miner, PSU and other needed components and estimate what is your ROI and possible profit based on the above by using calculators available online.
You need to take the Bitcoin difficulty rise into account.

It's pure cost logic.
Low running cost--> better profit
High running cost--> worse profit or no profit.
3026  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: April 25, 2017, 10:54:43 AM
Well my faulty R4 is now fixed and on the way back to my place. Fedex has it in Cologne (Germany) at the moment.
No details about what was repaired though.

At least they fixed your R4. They sent back a broken R4 that would not hash. I resent it back for repair and now they said they can't replace it because they don't have any more R4 units. They want me to pay some BTC to get as a replacement a T9. It's faster but also louder. Terrible customer service.

Try to get a swap without additional payment. The R4 are doomed.
After a second failure of one of the hash boards (with requisite cost of sending R4 out once for repair already) I have been offered the swap of R4 for T9 if I send it back again on my dime.  Yes, I already asked to have shipping back paid but to no avail.  Not sure how to proceed with this... on the one hand I like the efficiency of my R4 which is unmatched. But it's very flaky and unreliable operating history is rather lame.
Thoughts?
If you can deal with the extra noise and extra electricity cost, I would go with the T9.

I just can't believe that these scams keep happening over and over again, and there feels to be hard time for some people believing that this is a scam.

I'm just so tired with newbie, no background checking -people losing money and shitty scammers getting away with the scam all over again and again and again...
3028  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Foxminers? on: April 23, 2017, 09:01:37 AM
DO NOT BUY THIS SHIT SCAM.

You are going to end up with losing money for nothing.
3029  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Foxminers? on: April 21, 2017, 04:45:32 AM
Most likely a scam.
3030  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) Hotmine X5 upgrade kit for Antminer S1/S3/S5 on: April 20, 2017, 08:37:02 PM
How do we get our hands on that kit  damn it. Smiley
Contact them via the contact form at en.hotmine.io.
3031  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 2.7A Fan issue - S7/S9 on: April 18, 2017, 06:53:39 PM
Is the pin order same? If not, you'll need to carefully with a small screw driver remove pins and then re-attach them to the connector in a correct order.
I have done this once for Sunon MagLev fan and it is possible with a correct tool for the job.
3032  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) Hotmine X5 upgrade kit for Antminer S1/S3/S5 on: April 18, 2017, 01:32:57 PM
By the way, check out the first three posts in this thread and updates by me!
I got the BB board in the mail, and the build is now ready. Smiley

You better cover the sidewalls with some rectangular pieces of plastic (like on original S5s). I guess the surface of PCB on the other side of the radiator should be cooled by the fans too.
Yeah thanks, this is a good suggestion and I must see how I would build it.
Perhaps some sheet metal cover.
This way I won't get any surprise with some part on the non-heatsink side of the  board getting too hot and suddenly failing.

Pool operator needs to be around for the pool to operate properly, but this seems to not be the case with Eligius anymore.  Sad

I use to have great time mining here, but that is in the past.
3034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3 - 250mh - 400watt Scrypt miner coming soon on: April 17, 2017, 09:09:24 PM
As I understand, these rigs use a DC-DC power converter.
How well regulated does the input 12VDC need to be?
I have a high-current DC source, but it can vary from 11-18VDC (not very well regulated).
Wow, that's not very regulated source at all.
You need it to be in the 11.6 - 13.0 VDC area.
3035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Udoo X86 Board on: April 17, 2017, 08:27:21 PM
And how is this Bitcoin related?
3036  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 - IP address error on: April 17, 2017, 11:15:51 AM
Network settings are set in DHCP and sometimes it might get a new IP address from router's DHCP address pool.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_Host_Configuration_Protocol

If you want to have a certain IP address for the miner for sure, you need to setup a static IP address.
3037  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: April 16, 2017, 11:03:40 PM
PSA:
We released the following miners only when we were operational: SP10, SP20, SP30, SP31 and SP35.
If you see anything else offered online, it's a scam.
We designed but never completed the SP50.
What about the SP45 Newton 16 Th/s miner?
http://spondoolies-tech.co/products/sp45-newton-shipping-from-stock.html

edit: I guess this was a scam as well?
Because your domain use to be http://www.spondoolies-tech.com and not the one above?
3038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL - WHAT IS GOING ON? on: April 16, 2017, 10:54:07 PM
I have a Baikal 150mh/s I'll sell for $500, which is what I paid for it. It has the latest software and runs great. These are seriously good miners. Why would I sell you ask? One word.......Vega. PM if interested.

I'll throw in the power supply for free.

What is vega?
Google AMD Vega
https://www.pcgamesn.com/amd/amd-vega-gpu-specifications

Code:
The AMD Vega GPU architecture is the next generation graphics silicon the Radeon-red team are working on for release early this year, with the flagship Radeon RX Vega promising to deliver AMD a graphics card that can finally compete with the very top-end of rival Nvidia’s GPU stack.
3039  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: flashing S9 firmware to an SD card on: April 16, 2017, 10:50:34 PM
Hello Guys

Please help me, i need to flashing firmware to an SD card, but in the Bitmain Downloads I found the procedure to the S7.

I need to flash the S9.

Regards
Do the procedure as you would do it to the S7 but use S9 firmware files instead.

I don't know your specific situation but I hope that you have gone through all the reset/restore options before doing a new clean SD card firmware image.
3040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: April 16, 2017, 10:44:11 PM
Mmm.. why did you buy four power supplies but only two breakout boards?

Also you would have been better with Sidehack's package of the DPS-1200 +breakout board and 6-wire 16AWG PCI-E cables like I said.

I give you an advice, then you go and buy just something without any specific knowledge and ask me if it's okay, AFTER you have bought it.  Roll Eyes

Makes me wonder sometimes if giving advices is useful at all if no one is listening.
