2841  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Getting randomly logged out of Poloniex lately. on: May 13, 2017, 01:41:03 PM
if the problem is indeed coming from poloniex itself then not much can be done. sadly they have been performing very badly in the past 2 years, and it gets worse whenever there is a pump or a dump going on when they get a lot of traffic, they always call it DDoS attack!

now i am thinking even using API (a bot) won't help you. but it is worth a try.
Has it always been this bad? I've only noticed this large amount of lagg for the last couple days. It didn't used to be like this.

Already down ~7% today due to being unable to sell. It is so annoying..

from what i have been seeing, people complain a lot about poloniex specially in times like this when there are a lot of traders using their website that their servers can not handle.

you can also check out their twitter account and see in the past they have been having same tweets (if they don't delete them). it says "we are experiencing down time", "we are under DDoS attack".
Yep. It's really bad right now. I wanted to sell my STR at 2100, i couldn't now it is at 1800.. Not good.

My account has receiving everyday an alert that someone log in my account on different IP. I don't know if someone already hacks my account or not. I always change my password but the notification still the same. One I'm confused is because my funds are still there .

No. If you either use a vpn/proxy you will get this, but you will also get this if you use a dynamic IP, you might want to see if you have that..

2843  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Getting randomly logged out of Poloniex lately. on: May 13, 2017, 11:20:03 AM
your problem is honestly very weird!
usually you are logged out of these places when you are idle (although you say you were active, weird!), and there is usually a setting for that in settings that you can change the time of. i don't use polo so you have to look to see if it exists, turn it off it does.

also if nothing helped, try clearing your cookies, history and saved data,... and also make sure to scan your computer to see if you have any kind of malicious software, sometimes they can interfere with some stuff.

and in the end the only other option that comes to my mind is either switching to another exchange like bittrex or using a bot. you can only use it to set the trades, it is a pretty simple code to execute orders if you know anything about coding you can write one yourself too.

It has actually gotten far worse the last hour. I can barely load in order books, and i am unable to close my buy orders, open new buy orders, or make any sell orders.

It is all frozen for me. I see alot of people in the trollbox are having the same issue, but it also seems that some people are able to trade just fine.

Very weird.

I've done everything what the mods told me to, emptying my caches etcetera, but nothing has helped so far.

I really don't think it is a problem on my end..
2844  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recommend BTC transfer fee on: May 13, 2017, 10:29:32 AM
According to https://bitcoinfees.21.co/, it's 280 satoshi/byte.
If you don't mind when the transaction confirms, you can probably go down to about 160satoshi/byte to have it confirmed within about 12 hours.

Ok thank you this is the most helpful reply. So 160 min maybe 140 and 200 or so medium.

I pay a just a bit more than the recommended fee through Electrum wallet, I let the slider of the fee to the far right and yesterday I paid 328.33 satoshi/byte for sending about 0.10 btc. The transaction confirmed within 5 minutes. When you keep the slider fee to the far right in Electrum it will include a transaction fee that will put your transaction in the next mined block. Works really well for me this way although fees are higher than the recommended.

So we can say 300 max ? Ok good . My transactions just got cancelled but now I know how much to out. Although I was using indie wallet set to medium. I have set it to high now.

I paid a fee of just over 162 sats/byte @ 17:54:45 today, there were ~150k unconfirmed txs at the time and it still confirmed in 11 minutes.

That's pretty good. The one sent to me was 140 and took just over an hour. Thanks for the reply.

In your opinion is normal to pay 0.0007 for a small transaction? It happened to me and I didn't like it, too high imho

How small of a transaction ? It's not really worth making small ones anymore.
Some small transactions of mine with ~ 120 sat/B took over 16 hours to confirm, so it is possible, but not feasible for something that needs to be confirmed quick.

Side question, how is (((Bitcoin))) going to fix all these unconfirmed transactions? With bitcoin becoming more mainstream, i don't see this problem disappearing, more likely, this is going to stay if the core team doesn't take any actions..

Is segwit the solution? Or?
2845  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Getting randomly logged out of Poloniex lately. on: May 13, 2017, 10:17:53 AM
Finally i have found someone who have same problem like me. Not in everyday, but sometimes this is kinda annoying too.

Now i know everyone is having issues with the lag,
The lag was happened while STR (stellar) coin pumped up like crazy shit, but i didn't faced any lag on poloniex after that until now.

Quote
but is anyone else also getting randomly logged out?
YES! You are still "lucky" you are still able to sign in for 15 mins, while i getting randomly logged out just when i sign in and then annoying box appears and told me to sign in back again.

Quote
Is there anything i can do to prevent this from happening?
I want to know too how to prevent this. (But did you already tried clear the cache of your browser?)

I've tried using another browser, that didn't help much. I am now using a VPN on the browser, i am not getting logged out anymore, but the placing of buy and sell orders is still extremely frustrating, and slow.

The wheel for placing a buy order is spinning for like 1 minute, and i sometimes need to refresh and place it again because the order did not came through for some reason... Very annoying..
2846  Economy / Trading Discussion / Getting randomly logged out of Poloniex lately. on: May 13, 2017, 09:28:17 AM
Hi. Lately i've experienced alot of issues with poloniex, I either get logged out after 15 minutes of signing in, while i am still busy clicking charts, or the server laggs.

Now i know everyone is having issues with the lag, but is anyone else also getting randomly logged out? Is there anything i can do to prevent this from happening?

It is getting quite annoying lately, Is this logging out "issue" also  due to the high influx of traffic?

Not sure if this is the right board for this question, but i couldn't find a more appropriate section.
2847  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poloniex caused the market to crash on: May 13, 2017, 08:56:38 AM
I don't think poloniex caused the market to crash because the issue on the website (DDOS, hacking and other problem)
always be found on the internet include on poloniex, i don't think there is related between the price with poloniex down
because there are not the coins disappear and right now poloniex is fine.

They did kind of crash the market, their site is the largest altcoin exchange available, if they go down, everyone will panick, and try to sell their positions, which is what happend here.

It's ofcourse bad that this kind of stuff still happens in 2017, but that doesn't mean that there is no money to be made.

As sad as it is, you could've picked up a lot of coins for a cheaper price at the time poloniex was lagging like crazy.
2848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need basic info about mining! on: May 12, 2017, 09:38:57 PM
Hello guys, i am a newbie member. Honestly saying, i couldn't earn a minimum idea about mining yet. You all are extremely requested to tech me mining (a to z).
Advance thx everyone for your valuable reply.

Mining on mining rigs, or on your pc?

If you are looking to mine altcoins with your pc, or your rigs, it might be worth to check out nicehash.com Their GUI is extremely user friendly, and everything is automatic.

They have a profit calculator + a good get me started where all the info you need is provided.

You won't get rich over night, and it also is not going to change your life, but it could be a good education lesson on how it all works..
2849  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Which web hosting do you use to host your faucet? on: May 12, 2017, 07:53:50 PM
i think that the best host is Interserver.net
you can try for the first month for just 1 cent and 5$ after that
the host have a good service with best support live chat

Namecheap hosting is 9.95$ for a year.
You get unlimited subdomains, over 100gb of storage, 4gb of RAM, a very decent CPU.

If i was OP, i would go with namecheap, both the hosting and domains. I have never had any issue with them, 0 downtime, and their support is extremely good.
2850  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin lose value after today's cyber attacks in the UK? on: May 12, 2017, 05:50:56 PM
I can't see it having an effect.  These events aren't linked and people won't be panicking selling their BTC from this attack, nor will governments go around condemning it.
The opposite will happen, this is a reason for governments to rule out the use of bitcoin, due to their use in the cybercrime sector. I don't think centralized governments such as the US/ or the EU have huge interest in such a decentralized currency, although it is the future..

These governments want to know who owns what. I suspect that America is trying to slowly destroy bitcoin to replace it with their own digital blockchain currency..
2851  Economy / Services / Re: team programmers bot on: May 12, 2017, 04:31:07 PM
for higher frequency java would be better maybe, as we need a bot placing order on top very fast

High frequency trading?
How would one do that on these bitcoin exchanges?

Take for example poloniex, you can only call the api 6 times per second, when you compare that to wallstreet traders, which have HFT bots that can react in 85 nanoseconds, polo is peanuts..

Would the program even have enough time to react on the market in poloniex?

I have already four Members from Forum trying my tips... lets see..i have told 3 of them to make a bid to buy lsk @ 0.00036BTC and to sell the LSK @ 0.00042BTC , the coins staked per user is 5BTC , and the profit will be around 0.83BTC per user , approximately in 2 days Smiley

lets see....
Just want to update about this, currently LISK is staying around 0.0003 btc, did those 3 people already bought when it still was 0.00036 btc? Seems your prediction didn't going well for now.

I have followed this advice, and i just bough some LISK for ~0.000296, I'm interested to see how this is going to work out. Will update if i sell them, and how much profit/losses i've made.

0.005 for the premium service seems a good amount to try out one day. Hmm
Just sold all my LSK for around ~10% profit, which isn't that bad for 2 days. And it looks like LISK will even go higher then that aswell.

Looks like you do know what you are talking about. I'm interested in your premium services..
2855  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Investor Based Games??? Where are the games in this poorly titled board? on: May 11, 2017, 02:29:56 PM
Considering there are actual investor based games out there, why does this board continue on with the investor based games title? I understand why these HYIP advertisements/topics would end up in the gambling section. That's the obvious place for them. The part that is driving me crazy is the obvious joke in the board's description.

Investor-based games
Games where the main factor is whether or not new "investors" join the game. Also any Bitcoin-denominated investment product with an APY far above the reasonable market rate.

This just doesn't fit in with the overall snooty, stick up the butt type of forum moderation I've grown accustomed to here at BTCT. Why not call it what it is? For a few reasons.
  • 1. People who don't know too much about the forum might totally overlook the entire board.
  • 2. There are actually investor based games that all show up on a different board.

This is the HYIP Board, moderators and admins, It's funny to me that this keeps on keepin' on while you go around deleting and belittling people for posting theirs in the wrong section. That doesn't describe all the moderators of course. I'm just generalizing there. I've come across a few mods that have had their butt stick removed, and they are very helpful. Well, I'd say there's my two cents but since we are in crypto-land....... There's my two Satoshi.

Now I have to go post something happy to make sure I don't turn into one of you disagreeable, know-it-all thread crawlers.

You are absolutely right. There are alot of new people who see this board, and think some of the sites here are legit. Especially when you're logged out, you can't see the red trust of the OP of the ponzi.

Furthermore this board has several users in it which are constantly making new accounts to make new ponzis, they don't pay out a single user, it's not a game, it's not a HYIP, it's a scam.

Then you have the people which are constantly making threads with ponzi's in them, using ref links. These get removed quite often, which is good, but they are now circumventing the rule by linking their own 0.88$ domain which redirects to the ponzi with his ref link.

This is pretty funny, and even a bold topic if I may say so.  I have often wondered why certain sections have been eithe named in a mismatched, overly-wordy way, or as you pointed out on the investment gaming title, absolutely opposite of its intended identity.  Hey, you should understand with all your years of building awesome stuff, because you use tool called a "square " every day and it's actually shaped like a triangle. Why let the tools have their names all wacky but the poor, helpless, innocent, seldom-nitpicky moderators here get the wrath of your disapproval?  Just kidding, I totally agree and I do think your comic tone is on point, but also, I wondered the same darn thing as you.  Let's see some investment GAMING topics in the investment GAMING area.  Or maybe I Will have no choice but to start a poll asking what color nail polish is best, then I will post it in the mining area. That would be well aligned with the current trend.

Thanks for continuing to bring humor to the stuff swept under the rug.  The shag carpet, from the 60's.  Just because! Wink

Well, first of all, your faucet has a pretty good satoshi / time reward. Especially since you have no popups. It's great to see you use faucethub, instead of direct pay which is utter shit.

I see you're in need of a script? Maybe contact "AvalonRychmon",  he sells the script on this site, http://gr8.cc

2858  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you trade shitcoins? on: May 09, 2017, 01:47:46 PM
Hi. I was just wondering what you guys' opinion is about the large volume of shitcoins, and if there is profit to be made in these coins. For example Lepen, Macron, TRUMP, Putin, and 85% of the other coins listed on YoBit.

Do you trade in them? If yes, what kind of volume? Is it worth it?

Would highly appreciate your opinions.

Investing Shit coins is not a good idea to invest in, it wouldn't help us at all. Actually, they are more on hyped only for them to get
investors to buy their coins and it is more on pump and dump only nothing else.

I don't think many people invest in coins with the idea to help "us", and yes, these pump&dumps are the only reason for buying them.
Yes i don't trade with them most of the time but i traded with a coin called tide today on yobit. It was at 285 sat or something and it had the biggest dump and the price came till 1 sat. I bought how much ever i could with 0.2 btc at 1 sat and sold all for 2 sat and some at 3 sat making a profit of 0.5 btc. The price is till 2 sat if you want you can try it now on yobit.
This is most of the trader just away from the new altcoins in the market. If anyone wish to participate in trading altcoins, only eth will only gives decent profit. Other than that none of the altcoin trading will not work. Please do start your trading investment and trading in mostly on bitcoin only, because recently price jumped up and touched the new peak and it will grow higher.
Tsk, You're only trading BTC/USD? The only thing you can currently do is either hodl, or buy more? I don't see that many fluctuations. Some people are dumping, but the price is still steadily raising, right?

I traded with trump long time ago, and I remember I earned on that coin, that was on yobit while I traded there. Now I don`t visit them much and I`m trying to increase amount of ltc, etc, and some other coins that I think that have future. Fact is that some of this shit coins are here for a long time now, and someone is earning on them good probably.
Yup, i think it was the trump/putin coins that really broke through and are still holding their values.

MACRON/LEPEN coins on yobit are absolutely worthless, and they were extremely overhyped. Learned a good lesson there. :/

50-100 for 10 minutes, around 600 sats for an hour.

That's pretty nice.

I see you're using a subdomain, i would strongly advise you to buy a domain.

Ouch, I can tell you right now that you will never profit if you don't buy good hosting/domain.

Also, you're going to lose alot in the beginning. Once you get into mellowads/coinzilla/cointraffic you will see some earnings.

You're only losing money this way, without making any progress on your faucet ( alexa ranking. )

You can get a level domain for 0.88$ on namecheap?
