2301  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do I delete posts on profile? on: November 20, 2017, 09:17:33 PM
I'm not sure I understand you well.
Do you want delete your post or activity counting ?
The posts counter on your profile is visible only to you.
Activity can not be delete- It builds your rank

I want to delete my post counting, not my posts directly. The post counter under my name, on profile, yes. Oh, only I can see it? You can't? I thought it is visible to everyone because I remember choosing it that way but now I don't know where to change that setting. Activity counter doesn't botter me  Smiley

Yes, I can't see your profile post counter, only Activity Smiley

yeah only you can see your post count, there's no one here can see it except you

Huh Right under your activity counter it displays the total amount of posts you've made, am i missing something?

I'm not sure I understand you well.

You can't delete/hide it anymore.

It has been changed a couple weeks ago i believe, due to alot of newbies spamming the meta section with questions about  posts/activity.

It has been enabled by default since then i believe. Clicking the button to hide it does nothing anymore.

(Or is this the other way around and were you able to hide your activity but not your post count?)
2302  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Are the big advertising networks as coinzilla, mellowads and coinmedia scammers on: November 20, 2017, 09:10:53 PM
I ask this question because i think they do .. example a new scam site is born and alle big networks put 60% of all banners with there own reflinks to alle websites.. why are they supporting people like this in the first place. ..

Very good question actually. I might email to some of these hyip sites if it is actually mellowads/ coinzilla putting their reflinks there, or if it is simply the HYIP site advertising on mellowads using a tracker code such as ./mellowads to see their conversion rates etcetera.

If mellowads / coinzilla is actually filling their empty traffic with hyip scams.... I don't know..

Either way they're promoting obvious scams and should be ashamed.

Their entire profit model is fucked.

Especially with all the fake traffic these networks get. Don't even think about advertising on coinmedia, there's no way in hell you will get any real traffic.

2303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Selling litecoins from my Electrum wallet on: November 20, 2017, 07:34:45 PM
I want to sell litecoins from my Electrum Wallet. This is done via 3 steps (2 or 3) but he does not go to the 3rd step (option sign is not active).

You are trying to sell litecoins to what exactly on your litecoin wallet? ( You're using https://electrum-ltc.org/ as a wallet right? )

I don't think they offer direct selling, but rather you will need to sent the litecoin to an exchange such as http://poloniex.com / http://bittrex.com

LiteCoin Electrum is simply a software wallet to store your litecoins on.
2304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: URGENT Help Required on: November 20, 2017, 05:31:12 PM

I’m running two bitcoin core clients, just tried to transfer 10 bitcoin from the one on the older laptop to the one on the newer one.

My internet froze on the laptop that was sending the bitcoin literally as I sent it but the balance has deducted the 10 bitcoin. They are not showing on the address on the new laptop.

This is not a virus or anything like that, I made a test & sent 0.01 bitcoin shortly after and it went straight into the allocated address.

A quick search on the blockchain only shows 1 transaction in the address that I sent the 10 bitcoin too. In short where the fuck are they?

This is the address they should be in -

https://blockchain.info/address/1LAMWagYdsGKUDqUT2GxJFb1aKANywr4Ur

Proof showing transactions but only 1 transaction is registered at this address -

https://pasteboard.co/GUxMmpd.jpg

I do not see any problem? The 10 bitcoins are currently being broadcasted into this adress -> https://blockchain.info/address/1LAMWagYdsGKUDqUT2GxJFb1aKANywr4Ur

They're still/yet unconfirmed?

"Fee per byte    30.133 sat/B " <- Not that high, your confirmation might take a while.
2305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HELP SEND BITCOIN TO WALLET BITCOINCASH on: November 20, 2017, 05:20:43 PM
I need help, I use UPHOLD wallet and I wanted to buy an antminer s9 in the page of www.bitmain.com they told me a bitcoin cash wallet and when to pay and send the money to that bitcoin cash address, by mistake send bitcoin for 1450 dollars, and they could not confirm the payment. And now I do not know what to do?. where is my money. uphold gave me a blockchain confirmation address and the transfer appears but as (not spent) but neither bitmain.com nor uphold has given me a reply. I did this on Friday, November 17 and today, Monday, November 20, I have not received a response. What should I do? they can help me, they are 1450 dollars and I do not want to lose them.

So the problems is that you sent BTC (Bitcoin) to a BCH (Bitcoin Cash) address?

Well, on that case... you may be out of luck. I don't know exactly what happens when someone does that, but I guess that you sent the money into an address that doesn't exist in the BTC chain, and I don't really know the effect of doing that.

Im asking achow which probably know this: If you generate a BCH address, and send BTC on this address, since the generation and format of the address are the same... wouldn't this be a valid BTC address? so the result would be that he sent it to an address that nobody controls? Im not really sure, but I have heard endless stories of noobs lossing their money by sending BTC to BCH addresses and reverse, and im not sure if they were able to recover their money. This is another reason BCH is scammy, they didn't even bother creating their own address format.

Yes, the adress will be valid on both chains, unless you generated a bitcoin segwit adress,  and send bitcon cash to it, which is not the case here. (Bitcoin Cash doesn't use segwit =/= isn't compatible. )

If i understand correctly, OP sent 1450$ BTC to a Bitmain BTCCash adress.

If bitmain controls their own private keys ( which i assume they do ), they will have access to the bitcoin you sent them. Open a support ticket and see if they are willing to help you.

They're the only way to get your money back.
2306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchange Help on: November 20, 2017, 03:43:37 PM
Hi

Im new to crypto, mined some ethereum and would like to convert it into cash in my bank account. Bearing in mind that i am in the UK,  where would be the best exchange to do his?  Most of the ones ive looked at are in the US so verification is a problem.

Thanks in advance
best regards
Marin
As far as i know, unless you find someone in person/ P2P to do the deal with, https://localbitcoins.com/country/GB

you will need to verify your ID, using your passport.

I have heard that for http://litebit.eu you only need iDeal, but i am not too sure how legit the site is.
2307  Other / New forum software / Re: Progress? We're waiting... on: November 20, 2017, 03:31:54 PM
The choice may have been different if we were to start the project now. But I believe that interfaces are what matters. Also, we kind of didn't have a choice on the frontend. If you would like to see, our migration layer and database schema design is written in Elixir and Ecto. As for JS, there are definitely shortcomings but performance-wise, Node is good enough on the server side for the time being.

Do you have any specific questions?

Yes, instead of smooth talking us  Tongue, why aren't you simply giving an ETA of the new forum software? It's been almost years due now.

I feel like by the time this is going to be released, it will be outdated again.
2308  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.96 on: November 19, 2017, 08:35:02 PM
The website seems to be very slow which causes the images to load not at all or really slowly.

I cannot even get the site to load at all anymore + greasemonkey is useless on latest Firefox.

Might be worth it to make such a script but instead as an extension for google chrome / firefox. This version is getting more and more outdated.

Not sure how many people would be interested in such a service, but aslong as it is opensource and doesn't require a password, i'd think that people might like it?
2309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can I create a generate-watching only Bitcoind wallet ? on: November 19, 2017, 08:26:21 PM
I need to configure watching-only bitcoind server, with possibility to generate address, but restrict sending - is it possible ?

You mean something like this? https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/22152/add-a-watch-only-wallet-in-bitcoind

As far as i'm aware this should be possible to setup fairly easy. Simply import the adresses you want to watch and voila.
2310  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where goes the lost bitcoins? on: November 19, 2017, 04:05:55 PM
this thread talk about lost coins, i want ask some question.
1. how to secure our wallet address ?
2. is there any third party software or hardware to secure it ?

thanks i would like to hear from all senior here. because this will protect us from losing our coins.

1. By keeping your private keys / seed ( if electrum ) secure.

2. you could by a trezor/ nano / any other hardware wallet.

Other then that it would be smart to keep your system updated if you use electrum / core, so virus scanners etcetera.
2311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: is it safe to uninstall bitcoin core after noting down address and pvt. key? on: November 18, 2017, 06:36:59 PM
I have installed bitcoin core on my laptop and noted down the wallet address and private key. I have transferred some BTC into the wallet. Is it safe to uninstall bitcoin core now?

I wouldn't do that without backing up the wallet.dat, as it might be possible that you're going to miss change adresses if you don't.

If you have never send a transaction from your wallet, and put all your bitcoins in 1 adress, you should be fine by just keeping the private keys, but if you have done transactions, ( correct me if i'm wrong ), you will lose your change adresses and thus coins.
2312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: buying alt coins on: November 18, 2017, 04:06:56 PM
I've been thinking about the same thing lately. BTC and ETH are becoming huge thanks to these small alt-coins that should actually become "competition". How interesting would it be for ICOs to work differently, not having to go through BTC-ETH
I know quite a few of big ico's where you could use some swiss site to pay them in USD & EURO & Swiss Francs, instead of ethereum / bitcoin. So yes, this is already happening, and it really doesn't make a difference.
2313  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Coinbase a safe wallet ? on: November 18, 2017, 02:23:25 PM
I hear news everyday that people are getting hacked their coinbase account and loss coins. Is it true? Is it safe to keep coins in Coinbase?

Coinbase has it's hot wallets insured, which means that if they get hacked, the insurer will pay up so they can ensure no customer loses coins.

I think they also have FDIC insurance for their fiat balances.

It's pretty much one of the safest exchanges out there.

Does this also count for individual accounts? What if someone hacks your account through for example another dataleak from another site? Is that insured aswell?

I doubt it..

Some of my friends are using coinbase and they like it the most for their bitcoin to keep secure and i have not heard from them about this type of news that it is unsecure. They are saying that this wallet is a more secure wallet and they are keeping their bitcoin in there for longer without any worry. The  only thing you have to do is to secure your wallet password from others.
That's actually false.

It is much more likely that someone cracks your coinbase passport than that they crack your Electrum / core keycode/password.

Ontop of that, you don't have access to your private keys on coinbase, so if coinbase goes down because of a DDoS for example, you will no longer be able to access your funds.

2315  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinpot Scam on: November 18, 2017, 01:17:46 PM
I've made two depostits which are confirmed many times right now. But they don't show up in my account. Seems like Coinpot turnded into being a scam

You can't deposit bitcoin ( yet ) into coinpot.co ?

This is the message you should get -> "deposits are not currently supported - we are working on this as priority! "

You should try and contact their support so you can be manually credited.

The only thing you can do with them is withdraw the faucet earnings from moon bitcoin, bitcoinfun etc.
2316  Economy / Services / Re: FREE BITCOIN ACCELERATOR on: November 18, 2017, 12:28:20 PM

Also, if i may ask, what makes yours different from all the other bitcoin accelerators out there? There's already a ton of people delivering exactly the same service for free.

I don't exactly know why you would want to do this? Are you hoping for donations?
2317  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Flag Counter on: November 18, 2017, 11:45:04 AM
Hello everyone, i would like to introduce a Flag Counter site which can be useful for your faucet.

Easy to create and fully customizable flag counter for your website (or) a blog.
Interesting fact it provide advance statistics and real-time web tracking system.

Flag Counter are just images, so they will work on any website. The first is an HTML code for your websites / blog and the second is a code for posting to forums. Just copy and paste this to your website's source code wherever you'd like your Flag Counter to appear.
Note: Future customization of your flag counter need password. So store the password on safe place!

VISITOR DETAILS
Complete information about your each visitors, track website traffic and live analysis information.

Not sure why you made this, there's a ton of already established flag counters online, which offer 1 click html / php installs. You're never going to get hits / traffic using this simply cause your competition is already far ahead of you.

https://flagcounter.com/ is the #1 thing that shows up in google. I don't think that you can outrank them, even with SEO...

But, i do like your statistics infograph, I might try and use it for a bit actually.

Good luck.

Mr. Wolf

Thank you again.. That did the trick!!! Grin

I'm sure I'm going to look back at this in the next few months and go,,,,,OMG  look how far I have came.
There is a lot to learn, and sometimes I feel like I'm learning a new language.

I'm excited to learn more and more.

This might be helpful for others.
Have a great weekend.

No problem, glad i could be of any assistance.

I'm still wondering how you managed to scan a btc adress instead of LTC though...  Huh
2319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [How-to] the Search button on: November 17, 2017, 08:50:28 PM
Yes, it should be pinned.

I've used the search engine some times, and the most annoying thing is to wait 90 seconds to use it again.

Can that be changed?

Don't think so, as this is done intentionally to stop users/bots from spamming the forum with requests.

If there would be no delay, people with bad intentions / botnets could keep spamming it, effectively resulting in the forum being ddosed.
Which is my theory^, not sure why else they would put a cooldown timer on it.
2320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to the Forum, looks like a good start on: November 17, 2017, 07:26:16 PM
Thank you!

and have a nice day

Did you actually send the LTC to an LTC adress, or a BTC adress? It seems that LTC is only supported in the beta version of TREZOR? https://beta-wallet.trezor.io/

It should work just fine now that i'm reading more about it.

Could you link the transaction id of your LTC transfer?

Could you see what they said? They sent it using the scan and send feature, how would such feature allow them to use a "BTC" address if it was there instead of LTC?

@OP, can you please share the "public" LTC address that you received on your trezor to send your coins at?

Simply cause i can't imagine what the problem could be, other then sending it to the wrong adress. He might have sent litecoin to a bitcoin segwit adress?

In which case, you should try this tool, https://blog.trezor.io/recover-coins-guide-bitcoin-litecoin-78da0d290c79

EDIT: OP just pmed me that his issue has been resolved.
