2061  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Will build you a website and host it on: December 23, 2017, 03:05:45 PM
I can build you a website (except gambling or anything illegal, porn is ok as long as it's not child or rape porn) and host it for bitcoins. Monthly hosting will run you $10 in coins this includes cleaning service (checking to see if everything works, no dead links and such).

Can build almost anything.

You provide your own pictures, text and domain name. Tell me what you need and state a price, we can haggle on price in pm.

Are you also able to install some PHP scripts + SQL+ With a daemon that involves bitcoind on a VPS i could give you the data/passwords from?

What would your pricerange be for such a task? I already have all the scripts available.
2062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wrong Transaction on: December 23, 2017, 01:20:58 PM
this is the transaction hash 9b9e59108c28148a4209402e287e4af239ce185f1483b37b9696aae8f997ed34

and this the address i sent the amount of btc 1DU9C6hk4CMckMGHoSK67TPXwMEemJvB3h

It seems that they are indeed doing recoveries.

So if you indeed sent your BTC funds to a USDT adress  belonging to HitBTC, you should just open up a ticket, it will cost you ~100$, but it is definitely worth it ( since you would lose ~500$ otherwise.)

See both https://forum.hitbtc.com/discussion/655/appeal-to-hitbtc-please-put-in-a-cross-chain-recovery-policy-and-charge-for-it-but-return-coins

Their current (?) policy https://support.hitbtc.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005447669-Recovery-of-mistakenly-sent-deposits

i  had amount of btc in hitbtc exchange btc wallet and i sent the btc amount to my USDT Tether wallet address in hitbtc exchange by mistake.

I don't think double spending in this case is possible, as you have no control over your private keys, and neither does HitBTC have this feature implemented (?).

I'd suggest to contact their support immediately, and ask them to stop broadcasting your transaction.

Also, -- Why in hell would you sent BTC to a USDT adress in the same exchange? I'm not sure what HitBTC's policy is, but even if the transaction confirms, the money is still recoverable, i'm just not really that sure if they're willing to do it for you.

The links in your article are not clickable (In firefox atleast?). Pretty frustrating. There's also tons of grammatical errors you might want to correct.

Also, without a domain name, your article is never going to be viewed by anyone other then the people of this forum. Something you might want to think about aswell.
2065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Two transactions missing? Any help? on: December 22, 2017, 10:06:30 PM
Hi,

It appears i have two transactions missing? I tried searching for them on the blockchain and I tried accelerating them through various sites, it seems to keep giving me id errors? Anyone thats more tech savvy than me that could take a look please?

One is from cryptopia to my bittrex account, this one does showup as pending with 0/2 confirms for 24h now;
cf7a026778ecbf48553ff8afd9074774e87ee1aa82599b5f4d18e30b5be36fc3

The other is from bought ETH from Anycoin to my Bittrex account, doesnt show up anywhere;
0xae2899566afd18c440048ee69cbe708b2aa002d197d2dc747271ace6a451cb95

Whats the best course of action?

Thx in advance for any help, appreciate it.

The bitcoin transaction:

Doesn't exist. They might have broadcasted it a long time ago and has since been cleared by the mempool, (because it didn't got confirmed/no rebroadcasting.).

As you were using a third party to do your transaction ( cryptopia), i don't think there's much you can do other then contacting their support.

As far as the ethereum transaction goes, it seems to me that that one went through just fine? https://etherscan.io/tx/0xae2899566afd18c440048ee69cbe708b2aa002d197d2dc747271ace6a451cb95
2066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help please lost pass on: December 22, 2017, 07:48:54 PM
Can anyone help me I've not been into mining for a few years. 2014 I gave up. Now found a old wallet.dat But I have forgotten the password. Anyway of retrieving it?

would my password have been changed into a algorithm

I only have 0.003 but want to be able to access it

thanks

Unfortunately you can't. And i  don't think that a change in the algorithm would suddenly make core "changing" your passwords.

The only way you can retrieve your coins is maybe if you've copy pasted any of the private keys somewhere, but i doubt you did.

Unless you maybe had a really easy password ( consisting of 1-5 letters) you might be able to bruteforce it, but i doubt that aswell, and i don't think it is worth it for 0.003..
2067  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie here. Need help on: December 22, 2017, 04:21:13 PM
hi. can a newbie participate in signature campaigns or is it for more ranked members only?

*sigh*, another member who only signed up to participate in signature campaigns... And the answer is yes and no. There are a number of  bitcoin signature campaigns who do accept newbies, but most don't.

See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0 for a list of campaigns that accept newbie members.

Note that i don't think that thread lists all the altcoin campaigns there are. You'll need to look for those here, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0

Most of these campaigns accept newbies i believe?
2068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction not in Blockchain on: December 22, 2017, 04:04:32 PM
Hello,

i have sent a Transaction (0.027 Bitcoins) with Bitcoin Core Wallet to Anycoin.eu and the status is unconfirmed for since yesterday. The Transaction is not in the Blockchain.

https://blockchain.info/address/1Pky5UKFaQkcVkQpfdaV5n9iNNZqAUvbPK

Where are the Coins when they are not in Blockchain and in my Wallet too.  Cry

Who can help me?

If the coins are being sent out in a transaction ( broadcasted ), they still belong to you, until the transaction is confirmed.

You can decide to stop broadcasting the transaction, and they should return to your wallet after sometime ( if the transaction doesn't get confirmed within that timeframe ofcourse.).

Most wallets will display the coins as "gone", even when the TX is stil unconfirmed.

To get your transaction confirmed faster, you could choose to use a tx accelerator such as confirmtx.com, although i'm pretty sure these are being flooded with requests. ( And i'm not even sure if they work at all.)
2069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Seem to have lost bitcoin from Mycelium wallet - confused? on: December 22, 2017, 03:30:10 PM
So I had about 0.5 btc in my mycelium wallet. I wanted to move some to another wallet so I did a test transaction of a small amount (like £50) and that was still awaiting confirmation.

In the meantime I decided to move all the rest to my chosen Exchange where I could trade it more easily and to set up a Send, using their QR code etc. It kept getting "rejected by the network". Anyway I then occurred to me that maybe this was due to the small amount not completing and I so stupidly selected the option to stop rebroadcasting  that amount. At that point the wallet appeared to empty - apart from small amount of money. The c.0.5 BTC I had has now vanished. There are not transactions showing in Mycelium for it, it's just the balance doesn't show it.

I can't work out what is happening. Is it still there but I'm looking at the wallet incorrectly somehow? Has it gone to the exchange but not showing as a transaction? Did I accidentally cancel something. I don't really know what to do at this point so some help would be handy -thanks.

You choose to stop broadcasting the TX's, but you never got the bitcoin back in your wallet - correct?

They're probably still being broadcasted, or your wallet isn't updated (?)..

Do you have the adress you sent them to, or the adress you sent them from? ( Or simply the TX id of the transaction).

Sort of, I THOUGHT I'd stopped the rebroadcasting of an earlier small amount and that the larger amount had been rejected  and so wasn't being broadcast but maybe got that wrong.

I have the address I sent them to and nothing is showing on that from me. I can't find the address I sent them from as Mycelium changes the account address everytime a transaction is made and so the address under m y account is one I've not seen. I put that into blockchain info and it shows no activity or balance on it at all.

I think you must be right that the wallet is out of sync somehow.

Without more information, i can't really do anything or help you.

I'm assuming you're using Mycelium 2.0? What happens when you go to your unspent outputs? There's nothing there?

Try to import your seed into Electrum maybe, and see if that works? ( Seed derivation between the wallets might be different but i believe it was possible to impot Mycelium seeds into Electrum, just not vice versa.)

2071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Noob Bitcoin Question About Transactions on: December 22, 2017, 02:00:07 PM
My noob question:

Yesterday, I converted approx $1500 worth of XMR to BTC via Changelly.

Looking at the transaction page on Blockchain.info I see 5 confirmations with a figure of 0.00973 BTC ($124.64 ish)

Am I correct in thinking that with every confirmation that happens more of the BTC is "released" and hits my wallet?

The $124 worth of BTC *is* showing in my wallet.

No, that's not how it works. Every confirmation means that there has been another block build onto the block your transaction was confirmed in, -- The more confirmations, the more secure your transaction is against 51% attacks and other mining attacks.

You don't get "more" bitcoin with more confirmations..

Some services do require 1-6 confirmations, before your bitcoin is released. ( due to double spending & other mining attacks)
2072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTCquick wallet August 2013 on: December 22, 2017, 01:15:19 PM
in August 2013 I I registered a BC wallet to receive donations for cannabis legalisation efforts in South Africa. Some supporters were selling weed on silk road before it went down the first time in October 2013, and were donating a % of sales to us.
In those days, authentication at BTCquick was a simple jpeg of my ID and credit card. I received a confirmation welcome email from BTCquick and nothing else. i didn't think anything of it because I wasn't in the market to buy BTC at the time, only receive them.
In the first 2 weeks of September 2013 i received 4 transactions totaling 7.4 BTC and they remain there to this day.
It doesn't look good. I've brought myself up to speed with my predicament and realise if i don't have my private key (this was before 12 word pass phrases) then I'm stuffed.
Is there any way I can transfer from one wallet to another? I now have 3 wallets at my disposal.
The biggest hassle is, BTCquick doesn't exist any longer and when I click on 'forget password' in blockchain.info and enter the email I used to set up the wallet in 2013, nothing gets sent to me.
It's as if everyone has gone away.....
Is there anything I can do? I'm still embroiled in fighting the weed laws in SA and 7BTC in SA Rand is impressive.....

It has become unclear to me if you have your private key or not. What exactly do you have? You stored them in an online wallet that now ceased to exist, or in a wallet such as bitcoin core?

If you stored them on bitcoin core, you should still have your wallet.dat + corresponding password to recover your BTC.

If you stored them in BTCQuick, i have bad news for you. It seems that BTCQUICK pulled a Mt gox? See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=159716.860
2073  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: About to lose my mind. .5 BTC tip to anyone who can solve this. on: December 21, 2017, 09:50:03 PM
I'll tip the first person who can figure this one out with .5btc

I created a wallet using mycelium in 2013.
I printed out the encrypted private key PDF. I made sure 100000 times the 15 char password is correct. it is correct.

Now, 4 years later, I tried importing the private key back into mycelium. It says the 15 char key is wrong. It can't be, it was the only wallet I ever had on mycelium.

The private key is weird though, it starts with xEnc and has two dashes and an underscore in it.

Any ideas?

Are you still using the same version of Mycelium as 4 years ago?

Also, a private key is usually between 51-64 characters, (51 for BASE58)(?) If i'm not mistaken, and there are no dashes in it. It ranges between 0-9 and A-?(f) (51 = same ranges(?))

So my guess is that this isn't your "private key", as it is only 15 chars long.  but rather the password of some kind of wallet?
2074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do private key works and how do I use it to make the transactions? on: December 21, 2017, 09:32:37 PM

If you imported it in electrum, it should be extremely straightforward to make a transaction, and shouldn't be any different then how you would normally do it.

making a raw transaction with imported private keys should also be the exact same, and not any different as to how you would normally do it. (?)

I don't have electrum account so I don't know how private keys can be used to transfer from my imported to my main address without paying fees. Can anybody explain?

You can't. You will need to pay a network fee if you want to get the balance from the imported wallet on your "Main" wallet, as i explained above.
(You can ofcourse choose to not include a fee, but chances are highly unlikely that your transaction will be confirmed anytime soon).

Private keys are simply the "keychain" to your bitcoin. It is not some magical network fee remover.

I have my bitcoin account on blockchain sence 1 month and I have about 0.007BTC in main account and 0.015 in imported address.
All I want to do is transfer from imported to main address. I tryied many ways and it shows me always 41$ to make transaction.
I 'm a newbie in bitcoin account so I don't know even how to start. anyone can guide me and help me in first steps on how private keys can be used?

With the current state of the mempool, I'd say that unfortunately that fee is quite reasonable if you want to get your transaction confirmed anytime soon.

This would be a transaction similiar to yours. https://blockchain.info/tx/84c978301cf722947ed4461055d38876dc024862cf04b4a05b3e01d9db30f264

Why do you want to sweep everything into 1 adress anyway?

How do private key works and how do I use it to make the transaction from my imported bitcoin address to my main bitcoin address?
It has fees or it's free?

You should see private keys as your master password to access your bitcoin. Without them you're lost. See https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Private_key

If you imported it in electrum, it should be extremely straightforward to make a transaction, and shouldn't be any different then how you would normally do it.

making a raw transaction with imported private keys should also be the exact same, and not any different as to how you would normally do it. (?)

It has fees or it's free?

If you want to broadcast a transaction to (on-chain) transfer your funds from your imported adress to your ""Main"" adress, then no, this isn't free, (unless you decide to skip the miner fees.)
2076  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet on: December 21, 2017, 08:26:31 PM
I am using ''Electrum-XVG version 2.4.1''.

The weird thing about it though is that the Electrum history is empty as well and I didn't get a transaction ID from Litebit. I had to confirm the transaction by e-mail though, which I did. After that I saw that the transaction was 'pending', but now even that is nowhere to be found.

Is there a possibility that this withdrawal is stuck in the blockchain?

They should give you a transaction ID i believe, and that should show up in the blockchain.

It seems to me that they have either failed to broadcast your transaction (?) or have yet to do so.

You checked to see if there were any unconfirmed transactions to the adress you specified? The best thing you can probably do here is contact their support, and ask them to look into your case.

I have just contacted their support so I hope they are gonna look into this. It's weird that Litebit.eu doesn't have any withdrawal history on their website. If there was a withdrawal history, then I should be able to see the transaction ID right?

Bitcoin network right now is too slow and maybe your transaction is not paying enough fee that is why you are having slow or delayed transaction.
Check your electrum history if you receiving some pending transaction and give us your transaction ID so that we can check if what exactly the problem about your transaction..
If ever your transaction is low fee you can request to accelerate your transaction here  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2623876.msg26715189#msg26715189
And hope it can help you out about your slow transaction..

I can't reply for some reason at this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2623876.msg26715189#msg26715189

No one can. The thread is locked. Also, the state of the bitcoin network has nothing to do with the state of the Xverge network. They are seperate blockchains, seperate entities.

And yes, if there was a transaction it should probably show up in your litebit.eu withdraw history, but it should surely show up in the blockchain, with txid + adress you specified that it would be sent to..

Hello there, what is the best website to buy altcoins?  Smiley

Coinbase

^ The most noob friendly website. However this site only offers 3 altcoins, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.

I'd advise you to trade your bitcoin on an exchange such as poloniex or Bittrex, which both have a variety of altcoins.

Do note that when using substantial amounts, passport verification is needed, just like coinbase.

Alternatively you can also use cryptopia, if you want to invest in really "unpopular"/new coins. ( Although most of these are either dead, or a pump & dump.)

Hello,

I have recently tried to send my Verge from my Litebit wallet to the Electrum wallet. I am positive that I filled in the right receiving address, but it hasn't been added yet. The withdrawal was 'pending' on litebit yesterday, but today it's nowhere to be found. Does anyone have the same problem or does anyone know a solution for this?

Sincerely, Michel

What electrum wallet are you using? I don't think electrum supports Verge, unless you are using a custom forked electrum version?

Litebit.eu is pretty slow, and "pending" generally means the transaction hasn't been broadcasted yet. Did they gave you some sort of TXID, as they should?

Bitcoin network right now is too slow and maybe your transaction is not paying enough fee that is why you are having slow or delayed transaction.

2080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What plans to deal with more and more unconfirmed transactions on: December 21, 2017, 06:27:18 PM
Pay higher transaction fee.

Problem solved.

If the transaction fees get high enough, then less people will create less transactions (because they don't want to pay the fees).  That will reduce the number of unconfirmed transactions.  Then fees can get cheaper.

Problem solved.

And this will eventually result in Bitcoin Cash( Or any other altcoin with bigger blocks & faster blocktimes) overtaking bitcoin.
Why would anyone want to use a currency where you should pay 30$ to make a 50$ transaction that will go through in a reasonable amount of time?

You don't solve the problem by paying higher fees, you simply prolong it.. Until you either need to pay even higher fees.. (Or until bitcoin is worthless and has no usecase anymore, because no one uses it anymore... Roll Eyes)

Quote

Which would essentially kill the idea bitcoin was once build on -- being your own bank is becoming pretty hard when you need to pay 15$ in fees for your 5$ coffee.

People will simply start using services like poloniex to do their transactions,  which only charge 0.0001 to make a transaction. *Centralizes*
