1941  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ECR20 compatible online wallets on: January 19, 2018, 05:52:33 PM
Hi bitciointalk community
I'd like to participate in some ICOs, but they require a wallets that must be compatible with tokens ( erc20 wallets ) .
please can someone tell me what's the best online wallet ( I say online cuz I don't want to download it for personal issues )

Have you looked into something like https://myetherwallet.com/, you can send and receive both ethereum and tokens on their wallet.

A couple of guides on them can be found here, https://blog.wetrust.io/using-myetherwallet-mew-to-send-erc-20-tokens-like-trustcoins-trst-a946cd9873af, https://myetherwallet.github.io/knowledge-base/send/adding-new-token-and-sending-custom-tokens.html

It seems that another service called "MetaMask" also supports these tokens. See https://support.metamask.io/kb/article/4-managing-tokens
1942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What is the difference between Segwit? Native Segwit? Legacy? Which one better? on: January 19, 2018, 05:05:28 PM
I did some experiment. Sent a bit more than 0.006btc from a exchange to a new wallet. Before sending, I assigned the only address on this wallet a segwit address. After adding the segwit address, I sent from the exchange to the initial legacy address, not the segwit one.

Then closed QT, got back to the August wallet, re-open QT, and tried to sent 0.005btc from there to the exchange. The fee was 98000 satoshis, approximately. Since I was only checking, I didnt sent the value.

Closed QT again, switched to the new wallet, re-open QT, and tried to sent 0.005btc from this one to the exchange, got the same 98000 satoshis fee. Again, I was only checking, but I got the same fee to send 500000 satoshis.

What I did wrong? Should I have sent from the exchange to the segwit address, instead of the legacy one? I didnt sent to the segwit address, because I thought this address is only to witness transactions for the main address.
No, that's not how it works. The segwit adress doesn't do anything for a legacy adress.. You will indeed need to send the funds to a segwit compatible adress to make a segwit transaction from there, as explained above.

You just simply made a legacy transaction, hence why the fees remained the same.

So yes, you should've sent them from the exchange to a segwit adress.

I believe to then send them back will also give you the reduced fees, even if the exchange doesn't support segwit adresses. ( eg. if they still use the 1... standard adresses.) ( Would love if someone could correct me if i'm wrong on this.).
1943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help----Removed/DoubleSpending? on: January 19, 2018, 04:34:56 PM
Thanks for reply. I did not have RBF on first Tx. The id is the same. Not sure whats happening.
Will the coins eventually be returned to my wallet? How long can this take? Can you tell me anything based on TX id?

It would indeed be a double spend if you would sent them again with a higher fee.

If 42981e630fe9561364b167cc8f1025f6464cc0f7da84d01655e7bf2a61d7b56d is the one with the higher fee, then i think it will take some time before it will be confirmed, the average fee currently is around 450 sat/b, according to https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/, while yours is ~80sat/b.

Will the coins eventually be returned to my wallet?

Not if the transaction confirms. And yes, eventually nodes will drop it out of their mempool if you don't keep rebroadcasting it.
1944  Other / Meta / Re: Change Username on: January 19, 2018, 02:47:50 PM
Is there any restriction for changing username on btt?

Yes.

It is not possible (to do yourself), unless you have a really good reason to do so, and i'd presume a high level account ( Sr/Hero/leg). If that's the case you should email either theymos or Cyrus, and they *might* be able to change it for you in a few months.

Or, you can donate 10 bitcoin as OmegaStarScream already stated.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=285427.0

Atleast that's what a mod said a couple years ago.
1945  Other / Meta / Re: Utter profane language on: January 19, 2018, 02:18:50 PM
Can you give me examples and details of how/where he's being disruptive and I'll look into it later. Seems that user has been banned once before for trolling.

In my opinion, each country has a different understanding of spam. Since the forum is a global forum, the customs of all countries should be respected. I'll give you a list of what you think joined, airdrop, thank you sir is spam, but in some countries it's polite. If you participate in an activity without telling others, they will think you are unreasonable. There is a clear difference between Eastern and Western cultures. The nonsense that you think is really polite in some countries. You are constraining oriental civilization with western culture. It is not appropriate for a free forum. The above is just me Personal advice, no offense.

It seems as if you haven't read what the topic is about. It isn't about spam, or being overly kind with words while there is no need to ( when joining an airdrop), rather the opposite, e.g. constant harrasment of users by swearing at them etc, seems like something that isn't something you would want, even on a "Free Forum". ( <- Note that i do not know if this is actually the case, but that's the report of @OP.).

1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can't send Armory transaction because the button: "continue" does not respond. on: January 18, 2018, 09:25:14 PM
Priority is to send BTC's from Armory to another wallet.

Problem is that I can't send the transaction because the button: "continue" does not respond.

The node is offline but Armory is online. The balance is visible in a Watching only wallet.

I start an offline transaction on my online computer (Watching only wallet).
In "enter recipients" I flilled in all the necessary things.

But the button "continue" does not respond and there no pop-up screen, no warning, nothing.

(On offline computer is Armory version 0.90-beta on Lubuntu
and on online computer is Armory version 0.96.1 on Win 7.)

Can anyone help me out?

I'm having a bit of trouble interpreting you right, but it seems that you want to sign/make a transaction from a watch-only wallet, which isn't possible.

Quote

Watch only wallets only keep track of balances, you still need the private key to make a transaction. ( Which is something that is missing with a watch only wallet)

1947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is there any way i could centralize my bitcoin addresses to one address ? on: January 18, 2018, 07:45:35 PM
Why do you want to do this anyway? There is no advantage of having a single address.

What do you mean?

It is wayy cheaper to use 1 UTXO on 1 adress than to have 10 UTXO's on 10 different adresses.
Transactions will be significantly cheaper, especially if you're using low amounts (dust).

can blockchain's one account house several addresses? I think you're good to go with the first answer.

Simply go to manage -> new adress. https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/articles/207746403-Addresses

1948  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Rank Demoted on: January 18, 2018, 05:19:07 PM
Hi Thank You all for your reply,

I checked everywhere, none of my post was deleted. And also, I should receive some notification right if any of my posts is deleted by some moderator.

If you haven't received a notification it simply means your post wasn't individually reported, and thus removed, but rather the entire thread you were posting in probably got removed/nuked by a moderator..

This usually happens with threads that have an enormous amount of spam / low quality replies.. the posts that got deleted were most likely from either Bitcoin discussion, or Offtopic.
Sucks for you, but sometimes it has to happen, ( due to the enormous amount of account farming that is going on in these kind of topics.)

1949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Armory- bitcoins not showing up, armory 'offline' on: January 18, 2018, 04:27:39 PM
Hi. i sent a small amount of bitcoin to my armory wallet a few months ago. I have tried to access them now, and armory keeps saying its offline. Bitcoin core is up to date and running in the background, the transaction shows up in the blockchain when i search for it, however armory refuses to go online. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the newest version of armory, it has scanned transaction history fully and proceeds to 'parsing tX hashes', then restarted scanning the transcation history. Any help or info would be appreciated. also sorry if this is in the wrong subforum. thanks.

Sounds like there might be something wrong with your firewall, or maybe you have no disk space to update anymore?

Is there anything in the log files? ( Go to File -> Export log files), even better would be if you could make a pastebin and dump them in there, so we can have a look at it.
1950  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP !! I DELETED ELECTRUM, i forgat Seed,but i did recover key files via EaseUS on: January 18, 2018, 04:09:28 PM
So i accidentaly deleted Electrum from User folder (i had some litecoins in there) and i restored all deleted files with EaseUS recovery .Than i installed regular Electrum and tried to import default_wallet ,but it did not restore my Litecoins. So my question to you is ,which File do i need to restore,so i get back my Litecoins ? Please help :p

Are you sure you reinstalled the right version of electrum? the one found on https://electrum.org is only for bitcoin, you'll need something like https://electrum-ltc.org/ i guess? ( <- use at own risk).

The "regular" electrum doesn't support anything other then bitcoin as far as i'm aware.

1951  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: +3accounts = wallet on: January 18, 2018, 03:50:45 PM
My friends and me are using one computer.
Since we are room mates, one has a job and two are going to school,
And we open our account after office and school hours
we have one account each and we have one wallet only and planning to join only one campaign after we reach Jr. Member as our rank,

Is there a tendency we are going to banned?

Need advice,,,TY

You're not going to get banned for it, since multiple accounts from one "person" ( since that is how your situation would look to an admin) are allowed. ( Do note that if one of you spams you'll all get banned.)

However, some campaigns might not accept it that you're enrolling multiple alts, and will "ban" you for it/ (exclude you from the campaign), this is dependant on the campaign.

1952  Other / Meta / Re: Post images as Newbie on: January 17, 2018, 06:19:52 PM
What kind of formats are postable on Bitcointalk?

I know you can post images and gifs, what about mp4 animation?

Ok so why I see images here?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2737347.0

He has newbie status.

How did he do that?

He bought the copper membership, which unrestricts the use of images as a newbie. There's some more advantages to it aswell which you can read here - > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104

It is for sale here, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote
And can copper member post gis and mp4s?

As far as i know the copper membership is simply a shortcut to the access you would otherwise receive at "member", in terms of posting images etcetera.

I don't remember you were able to post anything with mp4s as member, only gifs.

since they use the same [], i think it should be just the same as the posting of any other normal picture/image.
1953  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying bitcoin without selling ones soul on: January 17, 2018, 05:24:11 PM
I've bought bitcoin before, a wire transfer and a few hours later there is coin in my wallet. So far i've been lucky and bought when it was down and looking at the current trend I see an opportunity to get lucky again Wink.
But now the vendor wants me to scan social security papers, passport and drivers license next to my face and upload it to vendor.com/surrenderyouridentityhere (and this is for small numbers, like 0.1btc and lower) ... I took a look a few other places and they sort of have the same conditions, to get verified(in order to use a credit card or wire transfer) you have to scan your identity and upload it to the internet. I am a privacy nut (I was on my vpn when I first registered here, that was a mistake) I cannot possibly scan any of those things and upload them to a semi random site on the internet.
So whats my options here? I have a 1080ti, is my only option to put it to use and pay the 'price' over the electrical bill?

Any legit exchange will ask you for your identity, unless it is lower then x amount.

Your best bet would probably be to P2P exchange with someone, on https://localbitcoins.com/ for example. Some vendors require identity, some don't.
1954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: please help. btc accelerator on: January 16, 2018, 08:51:30 PM
I need help. It is 13 days that my transaction is not confirmed. who can help me? I have seen so many good people on this forum that have helped for this problem and I kindly ask that it be helped too. please,

521fe3631eaf0ea3b807be7801e63ee94d5754d285f86cc69be6f57989edd8f1

You might want to put in a little bit more effort and search for help in the services section, as i'm sure there might be people there who are willing to do something with your transaction ( looking at the amounts of these acceleration threads.. )

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

Or, Alternatively, put in some effort yourself, and use an accelerator like https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ to confirm your transaction. ( Although your fee might be too low for them.)
1955  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Email for coin on: January 16, 2018, 06:15:14 PM
Hi,

  • Should I use 1 email for all or 1 coin?. Eg: 1@1.1 for Bitcoin, 2@2.2 for Ethereum, ... or allinone@email for Bitcoin, Ethereum, ....
  • Should I use Gmail or secure email like ProtonMail, Tutanota for coins?

What exactly do you mean? Bitcoin nor Ethereum is stored in a mail account. They're stored on adresses. I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to here?

You want to use a different email for each exchange, or something along those lines? Would be better for your privacy, not so much for your security. ( But most exchanges have a KYC policy so i guess it doesn't really matter.)
1956  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: January 16, 2018, 05:39:19 PM
Things would have been quite easy.  I want to know how do we verify a message using Electrum.I use coinig but don't really like it ,there is an option in Electrum to verify but not sure how to use it.I already tried copy pasting addresses and messages in the respective boxes but does not work

That should work. It's nothing other then copy pasting all of them in the right boxes. It's exactly the same as signing a transaction, but instead, you already have a signature and you click on verify, instead of sign.

Example:

Code:
MESSAGE: I, AdolfinWolf, verify the ownership of adress 18E7dAsGnakzD5aqtpiYPzFjGHXHBrTg7M

Adress: 18E7dAsGnakzD5aqtpiYPzFjGHXHBrTg7M

SIGNATURE: H2G9q2Mn38+mZ2PTVuvVfgQ+ANjsi2HR+xMSgDvOGa48HOyFQpimpF3oGbtOn0BoRNocGj9xomfgiEjCuLF9TNk=

1957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transaction 3WEEKS! Can anyone help? on: January 16, 2018, 04:20:02 PM
I apologize if I am not posting this in the correct place, but I am hoping someone can help. Like others here, I have a stuck transaction and my blockchain wallet didn't include a high enough fee, so now I am stuck with two transactions that have been pending since December. I am happy to pay a higher fee to anyone who can help me push this through. Open to any suggestions you all may have. Thanks so much for your help.

Transaction 1: c2fb8d405a38565fcacd38394948897cbbdb03a32ee77fc71f9e34b162c4dd3d
Transaction 2: 553b768b3a428dbabacba01aedd00ff7cb84282d6004ea66a9d9db5c1f5d6ff8

The current sat/b on your first transaction is too low to accelerate on https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/, however the second one should be doable, as far as i'm aware (?)

Depending on what wallet you were using to send them, you can try to do a Replace-By-Fee, or double spend for the first transaction you did.

If you also own the UTXO'S of the receiving adress, you could try a Child Pays For Parent transaction, (although i only see this being useful if you were going to send the coins somewhere anyway, as you're looking at double the transaction fees.).

1958  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I store these coins? on: January 16, 2018, 03:09:15 PM
Hello,

I`d like to store my coins in one wallet. Is it possible with these?

http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180116/3uxxe9dz.png

Yes ( Well, most of them..). You can either (usually) use the one they recommend you to use on their webpage, or use a multifunctional wallet such as exodus, https://www.exodus.io/, which supports over a dozen coins.

Or, alternatively, something like coinomi. https://coinomi.com/ I believe they support over 50 coins but i'm not sure how secure they are.
1959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Confused due to conflicting platform interpretations of TX status on: January 16, 2018, 02:41:45 PM
I have an Airbitz wallet account that I've been trying to empty since Dec.17, 2017. I accidentally set the fee too low and it has been pending ever since. Block explorer does not list the transaction as being present, while blockchain.info shows it as being unconfirmed. The TX was never dropped and I have been told by people that it's due to the rebroadcasting of the transaction through Airbitz, but Airbitz support says they do not rebroadcast and it's up to be nodes to drop the TX uniformly.

I go to multiple accelerators and I think some of them are clogged or are scams, and I am weary of using them, but one that I wanted to use, Hoolio, doesn't even recognize that the TX is available to accelerate. It simply says that the TX has confirmed. I've also gotten 404 errors on viabtc.

I've reached out to people in PM as a last ditch effort, but I want to understand what the heck is going on with this? Here's the TX ID for review.

f770112d5cd436bed5e279ce5122996dc6b2ea4089d03b5b7eee3bc0d34d4694

TX ID seems to be dropped by most nodes. It is no longer available on https://btc.com/f770112d5cd436bed5e279ce5122996dc6b2ea4089d03b5b7eee3bc0d34d4694, https://chain.so/BTC?error=1 returns an error aswell.

I'd say that Airbitz's recrediting ( or rather how the system determines how you have balance..) system is bugged/not working. Not sure how their wallet works. Therefore i'd recommend you export your private keys out of your wallet[1], and import them in a wallet such as electrum[2]

[1] https://airbitz.co/go/faq/how-do-i-get-my-private-key/

[2] https://electrum.org/#home

Then once you're in electrum you should see your balance, and try to doublespend the original transaction maybe?
