2301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gave 100$ of Bitcoin to my elder brother as a gift on: February 12, 2022, 02:34:11 PM
Coolest gift ever but I think OP didn't do it in the right way.

You don't have to tell him what to do, just telling him that he should study first about Bitcoin is important before he spend it to something. Your brother should find his own way that will suit him to grow his Bitcoin, not you telling him certain ways to do it that might not fit his type when it comes to making profits. Staking is good, but stock trading is much better in my opinion.
2302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Evolution Thiefs but no help from stake support on: February 12, 2022, 01:40:44 PM
I don't think it makes sense for a casino as well-known as Stake to cheat its user for $22. They have a good reputation and there must be some kind of mistake. The player could have accidentally pressed the wrong button without even noticing it. If it was a bug on the gambling site, we would have heard about such situations more than once. But if the player is 100% sure of his right then he definitely need to seek justice.
^ Definitely right and you have a good point there, I think they will not scam that very tiny amount for them, $22 is almost nothing for them and I think they will not scam that small amount. There could be many factors that happen and I think calling them a thief is not necessary because you are not proven yet. So for now, the best thing that you can do OP is approached them nicely reading your issues, I don't think they will not listen to you in that way but there's nothing wrong if you will try them.

As the title already indicated, The OP is blaming Stake for not doing anything to help him about his case about evolution gaming bug on his bet. He is not accusing Stake for scamming him but for not taking responsibility for the problem on one of there live games provider. This is surely small amount but Stake should atleast help him to recover or get some good clarification from evolution gaming.

Maybe the OP not patient complaint his problem on stake costumer service and looks have any term of services rule breach out by OP, I think well with stake so far what every game I begin sport betting or casino game looks fun and pay based on how much I betting. Maybe just faced trouble some time when withdrawing coin delay almost few minutes and not process instant, you need ask again on support center what your problem clearly.

OP's problem should be solve as soon as possible, and he wouldn't share it here if the support did response to him as fast as they could. But also, OP didn't provide any evidence or support about his concern against Stake, so I don't know which side is really at fault. It is possible that OP break one of Stake ToS, but still we're not sure. All I know is it is really frustrating if the support ain't helping it's customer's problem fast.
2303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Snooker Game on: February 12, 2022, 12:51:52 PM
That makes sense. Based on the amount of discussion here and the thread, I believe the majority of the members are passionate about well-known sports such as basketball, football, or Esports. Regarding the bets, I believe they rely heavily on their users to determine which games they are interested in; however, I do not have much information about that particular game because I am not placing a wager on it.. The e-sports scene is something I'm really into.
Punters are usually not very interested in these kind of sports because bookmakers take more juice on less popular sports and leagues. Then if you are not a very good specialist of the sport/division you won't be able to overcome the margin and to make profits. On the other hand, bookmakers odds are usually less accurate for these small sports/categories and you can more easily find value if you are a specialist of the area.

Yes, I definitely agree with you.

That's why it's not really popular especially on sports betting industry. Pool is more popular than snooker in most countries because it's much simpler to play than snooker. Snooker is only popular on UK that's why it will never be on sports betting, since no one would bet on the game that they never knew about. I bet it will never become famous because pool is the one that majority knows how to play.
2304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why a single bet is better than a multi bet. on: February 12, 2022, 11:52:23 AM
It's better because you could put all your efforts in it to make sure that you won't lose, while it is the complete opposite of multi bets, because it's too hassle for me to analyze data for multiple bets. I'd rather bet big with big research included for assurance rather than randomly make multi bets. Also, multi betting doesn't assure you profits, sometimes it could go other way around.
2305  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Giving Bitcoin to Employees on: February 11, 2022, 03:17:12 PM
It's not really necessary, because they might not want it. You might think that it's good for them but it could be the other way around if they don't have any knowledge about cryptocurrency, so it's better if you'll ask their opinion instead. Explaining to your employees the importance of knowing and having cryptocurrency is the first thing you must do, not forcing them to have Bitcoin monthly without them knowing what they are getting into.
2306  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Diversifying Your Portfolio in Crypto on: February 11, 2022, 02:19:46 PM
Thank you for this Helpful advice.

Some Youtuber or crypto Analyst says. put your money in different coins, memes, Exchange coins, Metaverse and gaming coins, DeFI coins etc
What is the Psychology behind that advices.

I don't know about the psychology, but as I said before, diversifying is about reducing risk, but reducing the potential return as well.

In classical investment theory, one must diversify to avoid losing everything. If you put your money in shares of a single company, there is a very high risk that you will lose it all, even if the company is a good one. However, if you divide your investments among several stocks, properties, commodities, etc. you reduce the risk a lot.

In the crypto world this seems silly to me, as all alts have been proven time and time again to lose against Bitcoin in the long run. The only more or less solid contender is shitEthereum. There are many fancy alts that promise they are going to be the next Bitcoin but just as quickly go up as they go down.

I would recommend you diversify but into other assets. If buying crypto buy Bitcoin, and if anything a bit of Eth or some other you trust (lol) and if you want to diversify more, buy stocks, mutual funds, RE or commodities.

Precisely.

Diversifying your portfolio means reducing risk because your plan is for long term, not short term trading, so basically you ignore all the opportunity you might miss because let's say you put low leverage. Your return might be low but at least you're safe from big liquidation, your funds are safe, and you're making it to survive for long term.

Diversifying also means that your plan is solid, not based on news but based on the data and information you've got on your research.
2307  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A few key points distinguishing traders from gamblers on: February 11, 2022, 01:18:01 PM
You got some point, but I've read so many discussion already about trading and gamblers, but their meaning depends on a person's POV. Trading could be either on a high leverage or low leverage, depends on the trader. I don't see a trader that flip coins before making a trade, that's way too reckless, if you know someone like that, they are not worthy to be called "Trader", perhaps you should call him a "bored" person that doesn't have any idea where to spend his money.
2308  Economy / Gambling / Re: Vulnerabilities in gambling websites in past on: February 11, 2022, 12:21:47 PM
There are so many vulnerabilities that have shown in several websites already in the past. One of the most known vulnerability of a website is being abused by the players to an extent of gaining something from it by violating the terms and conditions. Just like what happened way back in primedice wherein they encountered a problem on their system that happens to give a some sort of cashback whenever there's a withdrawal made. Some recognized this and managed to have multiple withdrawals made for the cashbacks. That is an exploitation of glitch and therefore anyone must be banned because it could cause a disruption in the ecosystem of the game.

There are still many more such as security and the likes. This should really be prevented to avoid abuse from anyone. Hence I commend you for taking the time to ask and gather information to make something to prevent it from happening again. Hopefully you'll succeed and be able to share us your discovery.
2309  Economy / Gambling / Re: Paddleboat Mississippi, new poker site with low fees and good privacy on: February 11, 2022, 11:31:40 AM
You definitely should improve your user interface because it seems like you are lost in time. Nowadays, there are so many poker sites that has been on the internet and they are reputable ones. If you want to be par in the competition, then you must consider enhancing and improving your website first to garner and encourage more clients to look it up and be their go-to. Check the things that a player will be looking for for a poker site and then incorporate it to your website. That way, you'll have potential clients. Consider to add variety of games to play too. Like a twist and such to make the players curious and engage with your site. Please take this as a criticism for your site to be successful in the future. I wish you luck OP.
2310  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What coin you like trading future on: February 10, 2022, 12:42:26 PM
I trade bitcoin, ethereum, BNB, and XRP and futures, those are my top coins. I also trade other coins sometimes but I focus on high volatility coins for a high risk high reward setup with low leverage only. I trade altcoins mainly on stock market, because it's much safer in my opinion since not all altcoins doesn't have any good developers, meaning their life isn't that long compare to top altcoins that you could trade in futures for long term.
2311  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How often do you change your indicators? on: February 10, 2022, 11:27:19 AM
Sticking to your best indicators is the best, however, it is not bad to try other indicators as long as it helps you to make profits, so changing it without any valid reason is nonsense, in my opinion. Changing constantly of your indicators could lead to something bad, like losing a lot of money again since you need to familiarize it first before you could continuously make profits from it.
2312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Snooker Game on: February 09, 2022, 02:58:02 PM
someone here makes Snooker bets: I particularly like Snooker but I don't see myself taking money and betting on Snooker because honestly it is very difficult for me to analyze who can win the Snooker game, what would be the factors that would dictate the advantage and disadvantage between two Snooker opponents:

Can anyone here predict the outcome of a snooker match?

I think it would really be a tough time to find out who are the snooker experts here in the forum because this game isn't really widely known compared to its counterparts that are famous such as billiards and pool. There were limited tournaments about it I believe, hence, the reason why a small population is curious and gives attention to it. I agree that you would really feel a doubt whenever you bet because the snooker game seems to be hard to predict and in a snap, tables turning could possibly happen so if someone really is very particular with money, he should think twice before betting.

But this seems to be worth looking out for too despite its unpopularity. This is another level of challenge for those who want to experience the thrill on the table.
2313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com & responsible gambling? on: February 09, 2022, 02:00:05 PM
It's not a big problem for me as I don't use my real email on gambling sites. Well, I think you can block emails from certain email address, maybe you can use that feature. If you are a problem gambler and you just want to quit, then just avoid any contact from the site, why not just disregard the emails you are receiving, it should not affect you if you are in the healing process.

This is true. Like what they have said, prevention is always better than cure. It would have been smooth sailing if the OP just blocked all the means the casino can contact him since he is in the recovery stage. That way, they could no longer reach him. However, I believe the casino is still somehow responsible as well because they should monitor everyone who requested to be excluded the moment the client already told them so to avoid inconvenience on the client's side as well as to not cause any nuisance since we're all aware that gambling addiction is really a serious problem that doesn't just take a one sitting to be addressed and healed.

I know this incident already happened in late 2021, but let this be a lesson to both gambler and the casino owner to be responsible for their actions and lack thereof. Let's not practice pinpointing who to blame and instead just do proactive measures to prevent such incidents to happen again.
2314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who’s who in the gambling subforum? on: February 09, 2022, 01:26:52 PM
Anyone could be an expert especially in giving opinions and predictions in different types of sports. However, having a list of trusted predictions would also be a big help especially if we're seeking good advice that would help us create a good decision. It's not that they're always right about their opinions but rather having enough knowledge about a certain sport. Their predictions could often guide us.

Indeed. Anyone is capable to be an expert in a certain field particularly gambling. Investing in yourself by fueling up your knowledge would be of great help if you want to be good at it. These people that were mentioned were knowledgeable because they exerted effort and time to know what they have to know about sports for example to make a calculated and strategic prediction on who will win or who has the more chances of getting the game. They are nice to help the newbies as well as to those people who still need guidance when betting. Their predictions might not be always right, but they could be a tool for others to base their decisions to. Of course, this still comes with a risk so we should still be responsible for our decisions. After all, they are not Gods, so let's not give them the burden of being a know-it-all.
2315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]: RYAN GARCIA vs EMMANUEL TAGOE - April 9 on: February 09, 2022, 12:55:25 PM
I'm waiting for the thread about this guy's fight.
Garcia is now quite famous because apart from being a young fighter, he also became more famous when he defeated Campbell some time ago.
He does have a fairly distinctive style and indeed against Tagoe I think this is a pretty good thing because it is likely that Garcia will initially be met with Mercito Gesta and Saul Rodriguez.
Even though their age limit is quite far but indeed I feel that Garcia is better here

I agree with you. Despite having a massive age difference, and Ryan being the younger ones, it really doesn't mean that he'll be on the disadvantaged side because after all, the experience and skills are of importance. Even if someone is older, doesn't mean he is more skilled to fight and performs better.  It still all boils down to performance. How the boxer strikes his punches to knock out the opponent and how he would strategize to land a successful punch for a score is what matters.  I  personally cheer for him too, but of course, this won't be an easy fight still because Tagoe is an experienced fighter as well.
2316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Amir Khan vs Kell Brook - Feb 19, 2022 on: February 09, 2022, 12:14:37 PM
Nobody is bringing up the dynamics of covid affecting the fight, I think brooks does better with a large loud crowd on his side

There might not even be a fight if one of them tests positive.

Or one could be recovering and that could affect them negatively

Kahn wins by decision

Given the recent state of the pandemic situation, it's possible to happen since the new variant of covid-19 which is omicron is faster when it comes to spreading and it has new characteristics compared to past variants. In addition, the vaccines made were not really intended for it therefore it is still uncertain if it's 100% effective against it as well. Although I really do hope that none of them would be tested positive because their fight is really near and it's now a week and 3 days more to their supposed fight. This fight can really push through if there would be no mishaps that would happen. But I really believe it would push through and we'll see an exciting fight among the two.
2317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: February 09, 2022, 11:20:50 AM
payout speed depends on the network and miner chain but one thing to consider is instant payout ,strength of licensing it's very clear it has to exist ,responsiveness to complaints ,bonuses & offers tournament competition etc ,security most mandatory for an online casino
if possible would suggest this ,can exchange coin to another on the web gambling it will be very helpful for gamblers who want instant exchange

Now that you've mentioned it, it appears that sometimes people tend to overlook the importance of the license of a casino during surveys like these. I agree it has to exist and a casino must really possess it to be able to operate because having a license means that they are capable and will be responsible casino gambling owner and is following the set guidelines. License means they have undergone a thoroughly checked which means they have passed the standards and complied with all the requirements needed to operate. Every casino certainly should be licensed, however, it isn't always the case because some are still able to operate without a license or even with an expired one. Hopefully, it would be prioritized by the authorities to address problems such as having unlicensed casinos operating because most problems usually stem because of this.
2318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A little reminder why Bitcoin is necessary on: February 08, 2022, 03:44:07 PM
This is actually the case for most of the things, you have to understand that bitcoins solves the problem of domination by major banks/companies/brands. It's a currency which is not in control of anyone therefore the people who own it own it for real. They own the rights to do anything with it as well. Plus terms and conditions are super long and no one actually reads them, no one has the time to sit down and read them therefore at the end of the day people generally have issues with particular bodies. At the same time banks can declare bankruptcy and disappear without a trace as well, what happened with my grandparent's investments, they did get their initial savings back but only after 5-6 years. Therefore I always feel that we underestimate bitcoins, it's amazing that we have the access to such currency where we control our own assets and money.

Indeed, we are our very own banks if we have bitcoin. That is why most people now prefer to store their money in bitcoin because aside from being not highly affected by inflation, we can do what we want with our funds without involving a centralized organization or third party into the picture. We don't have to follow certain protocols and terms of services because we aren't entrusting our funds to an institution that has its own set of policies. We set our own rules. We don't have to abide by some irrational policy that could compromise our funds and instead we can freely do what we want with our money and protect it to the best that we can by using hardware wallets and such.
2319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hypothetically keeping your bitcoin when you die? on: February 08, 2022, 01:52:29 PM
Hey, so what if you freeze yourself? And then there is technology to bring you back from the dead hundred years later.
Is there any good way to keep some bitcoin on you for this situation?
I plan on giving/inhriting most of my btc to and kids I might have in the future, but.... butttt.... what if I froze myself, kept some btc.
Is there any good idea how I keep my private keys with me? There is no gurantee I would remember a seed phrase in my head when I woke up. Might not remember much of anything. Idk no one knows.

but I'm pretty sure 100 years from now btc will be tens of millions if not more per coin, so even just 0.1btc would prob make you a millionaire.
If... lets say, you kept it in a steel container with instructions, any way to make sure the people freezing you dont just take it? Or if they dont, what if you wake up, and you dont realize what you have? Someone could easily take it from you then. Maybe I could put on on stainless steel, like a thin sheet, scratch the seed phrase in, then have it shoved in my arm or leg and stitch it up, then die, wake up. Maybe have some sort of instructions that would only make sense to me in the event i forget about it...

or..... maybe like... I put it in an awkward place in my arm or leg so it's guaranteed to give me some major issues and will need removed so it will remind me. like if i forget  my memories, I wake up, ouch my leg kinda hurts when i walk. go to doc, doc x rays and is like you got some random metal in your leg wtf lets remove it. on th metal, rolled up, it says "my name" or whatever to open only. no one else. then has instructions how to retrieve the btc?

Assuming I dont have great great grand kids who want to help their ancestor in some way who show up on my revival?

All of course assuming it is possible for humans to revive the dead in the future. idk. wouldnt it be funny, there is an afterlife, and you tell people there how you had bitcoin and if it is worth a bunch telling everyone how if you were alive you would be rich, then suddenly you get sucked out of the afterlife into your body? Maybe it takes 1000 years later, and 1 bitcoin is a trillion dollars lol. but then it would suck if you wake up and someone performs operation on you in the process of waking you up and sees and takes it? Man... too bad things cant just be literally etched into the brain so there can be no possibility of forgetting it or something.

Idk, anyone have any ideas?
do any post death trusts exist? Like go to a bank and be like hey, can I rent out the safe deposit box for the next 100 years?
THen its your luck it's 101 years when you revive and the bank threw out your seed phrase lol

I don't really see the point in doing this. Isn't this being so greedy? Because you can always enjoy the fruit of your labor and patience if not today, in the next few years with your loved ones. It seems futile to me finding a solution to an imaginary and impossible scenario. It would be better if you would spend your coins in your lifetime. Or if you choose not to, it's better to leave it to your loved ones such as your children like you've mentioned to be their inheritance. As for me, if ever bitcoin would really massively soar in the next 100 years, it would be worthless for me to live because after all not everything just revolves around money. Imagine the generation gap that you would be into. You would have a hard time adjusting as well as having a hard time enjoying those money when you don't have someone with you to cherish and celebrate it. You could even feel lost and empty despite having so much.

If I were you, instead of thinking nonsense, I would just put my energy into generating more profit so that I could enjoy it today or in the next years without the need to wait for hundreds of years just to celebrate. You can always enjoy your assets and funds with the right discipline and limitations so that there would be left for you to use in the coming years.
2320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investor Psychology on: February 08, 2022, 12:53:56 PM

People were willing to buy bitcoin at all time high prices and everyone was greedy. Now when bitcoin is half the ATH price, we see no buying pressure. It's strange that people are willing to get bitcoin at high prices but they don't buy it when bitcoin is available at fair cheap prices. This is strange bitcoin investor's psychology.

I can attest with this kind of scenario. I have seen so many times already different kinds of people whenever there's pump and dump happening and mostly, these people are just everywhere. Whenever bearish market enters and coins suddenly drop price position, people are fearful, they tend to sell right away. Meanwhile, when price position is low, most people still try to enter despite the price which doesn't totally makes sense. I believe this is mainly because of three main factors which are greed, loss of hope, and unchecked and lack of information.

Greed. Most people whenever they see high price value, they would want it too. I mean, who wouldn't want gains right? However, some people do it the wrong way. Instead of buying in low price position, they buy in high position. Most people are encouraged and enticed to take the risk because of the hype. And oftentimes, they were left behind in the upper position because most people, particularly the experts already took profit resulting to gradual change in value specifically decreasing manner. Some people are just too greedy to generate money and in the end, they end up losing instead of profiting.

Loss of hope. Some people are not really emotionally strong to risk whenever they see unpleasant scenarios such as seeing a downtrend in graph. They tend to be fearful and doubtful whenever dips happen. Some thinks that it may not be able to recover and they would just end up losing money if they would risk it. Which is also justifiable since not every dip is worth it to buy. But sometimes, you just really gotta take the leap of faith and trust in the coin as long as you know they have a nice whitepaper and projects in the future. I have heard so many confessions of regrets because they didn't buy in low position. Turns out, the coin they think will continuously dump suddenly skyrockets after several years. Just like what happened with bitcoin.

Unchecked and lack of information. This is one of the factors too and actually it plays a great role. This usually is the reason behind the greed and fear of investors and traders. Oftentimes, they are misinformed about something and didn't bother to have a fact-checking before delving into it. And sometimes, they just don't bother to search and equip themselves with knowledge.

Being so fearful won't get you nowhere the same way with being so greedy. So you must really know when to invest and when not to. And being so complacent to the point that you no longer check and feed yourself necessary knowledge about the things you do makes a conflict too. Let us always be a responsible investor. Let's do our part such as doing in depth research to avoid wrong timings and regrets.
