1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A disheartening true life winning story on: November 10, 2022, 01:06:36 PM
Why would they take your big money but refuses to pay big winning?
What could be done to curb this cheating permanently in gambling?
There a some gambling sites that are new in the business and don't have the financial wherewithall to pay a heavy and huge winning due to their infancy in the business only hoping that accumulation could be gotten from gamblers losses to meet up in building their financial strength but it becomes u fortunate for them when a huge win is what they experience as against what their plans were. This could be one reason why certain gambling sites shy away from paying him get amounts but rather elope or form one excuses.

Another could be that it was fraud intended from the start of it, and they probably might go at loss should they payout such huge amount so they resort to extinction of such site.

My advise is that gamblers should try get knowledge of the history of certain gambling site they engaged with and their reputation in the past years, etc.
It will really keep you away from such ugly experience. For we app know how painful losing money to gambling , and then the joy of winning after many loss and someone is trying to deny you of it.
It's really painful.

yes, in these cases better to stay with reliable websites, or only test new waters knowing that you may not have a return from your gambles

but the thing is that on OP's case seems like this was an existing lottery irl, not virtual, right?
this makes a totally different situation.

As far as my mind can comprehend this thread, OP is talking about an actual lottery and not really from an online website which is why it's painful knowing that you've won, but won't really get to enjoy your winning prize because of some sort of issue.

It's not really OP's fault that the company had glitch on their database resulting to wipe out of their crucial information. Because they should have a back up in the first place and make their security tight so that inconvenience like this won't happen. This could be some form of assurance for them too not only for the players. Really do hoping we'll get an update from the process of this case.
1402  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Bear Market Mistakes to Avoid on: November 09, 2022, 02:24:12 PM
Losing money on investing is a frightening proposition. However, you can protect your money and reduce stress in a falling market by avoiding five common pitfalls made by crypto investors.

Panic
Putting in Emotional Efforts
Investing short-term
Overtrading
Mental Health

Learn More: https://mycryptoparadise.com/5-common-mistakes-to-avoid-during-a-crypto-bear-market/

Panicking happens when you're not updated, or you don't know what you're doing, or you don't know well cryptocurrency and yet you invested all your money. When it comes to emotions, you really have to master how not to be overpowered by your emotions when you're trading, especially when you lose a trade, take a brake, reset, and trade again, don't ever chase your losses without any decent strategy.

Over trading is the act when you're chasing your losses, you lose your focus, risk your mental health by achieving nothing because you don't really have a plan except for chasing your losses, which is very scary.
1403  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your work. on: November 09, 2022, 12:46:20 PM
Old generation and most of the generation now have been influenced by their parents, friends, or any influencers about savings in the bank is good. Banks steal our money, making huge profit out of it while we gain so little per year with our savings on them. Being an employee will never make you rich, and that's true unless you have a really great job that pays you well.

Investing it on Bitcoin rather than in bank is a good idea, but convincing someone that doesn't have any idea how cryptocurrency work is a tough job, not worth the time, in my opinion.
1404  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask bargain for prices never pay full specially now on: November 09, 2022, 12:07:26 PM
Now it's time to ask prices to go Lower.
Times like this i go shop or anywhere i always say' it's economic down turn can i get cheaper price.
I allready called to my landlord to make my rent much cheaper.
It's times of economic bad times so now you can ask cheaper prices of anything always.

You are very correct, everybody wants to buy commodities at a very cheap rate but have you ever considered if the cost of production is cheap. We are in a period were there is inflation, high cost of power and fuel and everybody including manufacturers are also feeling the pains. The best thing to do for now is to seek for cheaper alternative of any product you consume. My children are now consuming locally produced food instead of expensive company manufactured baby-food/cereals.I had to move out of my bigger accommodation to a smaller place because I could no longer comfortably afford it. But this doesn't write-off the fact that we should bargain for the best prices.

Due to inflation, everything got expensive, prices are skyrocketing and the supplies are very low making the whole situation worst. Low quality products before are already expensive as well because of the inflation, for those who doesn't have enough money, they have no choice but eat anything that they can afford, but if you have the money, always go for the nutritional foods and products.

You can never ask for cheap prices anyways even though the economy is down because businesses needs to make profits to ensure their businesses to keep on running. Making their products cheap because the economy is down doesn't make any sense at all.
1405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling winner identity on: November 08, 2022, 10:40:21 AM
this is a good topic [Gambling house responisbilty to protect people data] and it should be mandatory for gambling houses to keep user privacy safe but there is something interesting that I saw in a tweet;

source tweet

The man's reasoning is reasonable, but in my personal opinion this is an irresponsible act, he should as a husband, be honest with his wife or children and even if they turn into lazy, he just needs to educate them hard.

what do you think, is the man's action right or if you experience it (win a big jackpot) will you do as the man did or even be honest with your victory to your family??

I share the same sentiments with you.

While I like his idea of wearing a costume to hide his identity in order to secure his safety and of course winnings, I also don't like the idea of hiding something from your loved ones, given that you are the head of the family. It's okay to keep it a secret from your relatives, but not to the family you built to have. You can always teach them something they don't know or practice so that they'll be better.

I find it selfish and unreasonable despite his reason because that kind of matter can always be talked about and worked on. But of course, this won't always be applicable in every situation. If he happens to have an abusive wife and aggressive son/daughter, it might be for the better. But if your family is not dysfunctional and you can see that harmony is within your home, then there's no reason for you to keep it hidden. They'll surely understand you if you're just going to let them become aware and educated about financial aspects.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you get over a bad loss? on: November 08, 2022, 03:25:26 AM
What's your favorite thing to do when you get a bad loss?

Speaking from experience, the worst thing you could do after tanking a huge loss is dwelling on it. Thinking about the loss over and over again could cause you to spiral uncontrollably into unhealthy practices and habits, such as gambling again in hopes of recovering the loss you took, which is not going to happen most of the time. The best thing you could do for yourself is to go out and touch some grass, meet new people, spend time with your family, and the likes. If you're not into socializing, you could divert your attention to something else, like an article, or that thing you wanted to make a hobby out of but couldn't consistently do because you're "too busy." Try these, you will see the difference.

I very much agree with this.

Dwelling on your loss won't do you any good. You can no longer change what already occurred. You just have to accept the fact that you lost and you must move forward keeping all the lessons it taught you. It will be hard to just forget and move on, most especially if it's your first loss or it's a massive loss on your part. But you can do several ways to alleviate the pain and distract yourself from repeatedly thinking about it, worrying about it, and regret about it.

You might want to try doing your hobbies or exploring new things that will make you feel better to get over from your loss. Distraction could probably work because you'll keep your mind occupied to avoid thinking negative thoughts. It is often the advice even of the professionals to get over with something you can no longer control.
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: November 08, 2022, 12:54:35 AM
I thought it was a real life experience because of the title.

Anyways, if ever it would happen to me in real life, I would definitely be freakin mad on my friend for crossing the line. Respect matters a lot to me. Even if you have good intention in doing something, you should always ask consent before actually doing it especially if it concerns other people's lives. You should stop being so nosy and too imposing because it is such a rude attitude. If you want your friend to be on the right path and make sensible decisions, then you could talk to them and not control them.

The act of manipulation is such a bad thing. If they want it, then let them get it for themselves. Ask them if they want to hear your opinion about their decision. If they said they do, give them your insights. Otherwise, shut your mouth if you'll just spit an unsolicited opinion. If you already educated them and nothing still happens, then it's now up to them. Let them handle the consequences of their actions. After all, you shouldn't ,meddle in someone else's life issues. I just don't think it's appropriate to insist to be involved.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How are Online casino's and sports betting platforms coping? on: November 07, 2022, 11:56:54 PM
As far as I know, online casino's and sports betting platform that has established their reputation and credibility to their clients and to the community are still doing better in the gambling industry. People have been bored most especially during the peak of the pandemic. Those that can afford to gamble because they have a spare indulged in gambling, while others who just have enough made a pass in gambling during those trying times. I can attest to this because I know personally people who opt to did the scenarios mentioned.

While some of the players prioritized the necessities first, it still doesn't remove the fact that the established gambling platforms still catered to a good market to make them profit and to keep their business running up to date. Right now that there has been more ease on protocols and the pandemic has eventually being resolved by vaccinations and healthy safety guidelines, businesses like gambling casinos are also starting to be better in terms of profit and operation and there's really a little to be concerned about.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost 270 dollar in roullete plan on revenge on: November 07, 2022, 11:21:11 PM
To be honest, this is such a stupid move. A childish act like this isn't really fit to be exhibited in gambling world. Not unless you want to really lose it all.

Losing a big amount could really be regretful because you could have bought something out of it or allocate it in something nicer which you could have enjoyed and cherished. However, things that are already done can't be undone anymore. What has happened is already in the past and there's nothing you can do to change it. You just grasp the lesson it taught you.

$270 is already a huge amount. From my point of view, this is an amount that you cannot really afford to lose, hence you resort to chasing winnings. Revenge is a petty thing. I don't also think it's applicable on gambling websites or casinos because as we all know, the edge is always on the house. The RTP isn't always as big as players want it to be which could potentially harm you if you have a backwards and close-minded thinking you could put some sort of plan then get even on the house.

Chasing winning after a loss could really be harmful to your well-being and to your budget as well. The mental stress it could give you can damage your health and affect how you'll function. In addition, it could also disrupt your financial aspect the moment you got lost and addicted in playing to win without you noticing it.
1410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won $128,000 and it's been a week waiting for game provider verification on: November 07, 2022, 10:50:50 PM
You could at least name the casino website you played with so that the members could give more insights about your situation. Dropping names of the website isn't really prohibited here so might as well tell it so that the situation will be looked in considerable angle for both sides. If it was a reputable casino, you have a little to be worried about. Sometimes this just happens, especially if you won a big amount, The verification process is sometimes slow because of several factors such as there are many players withdrawing their winnings just like you and they are thoroughly verifying the information you have given them such as the information provided in the KYC process to withdraw your fund.

Since this is a big amount, you could try to follow up for their verification on your case. Ask them about  an update on your winning withdrawal. If you don't hear from them and yet they remain active in other sorts of form, you could file a legal action about his matter to make you at ease. Now, if you happen to play in an unknown website that isn't really proven to be credible because of few feedbacks about it, then you are partly to be blame. This is because if a casino hasn't established yet their credibility, it could always turn out to be a scam. You just have to hope that everything will turn out great on your end if ever this is the case. New casinos who don't have license and reputation to uphold can vanished without a trace because they don't have anything to prove to their clients after all.
1411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Does Gambling/Casino Ads Help An Addicted Gambler Who Wants To Stop Gambling on: November 07, 2022, 10:13:40 PM
To some people, ads affect their judgment. Some tend to be so engrossed and caught up with the idea of how good a product or service is being marketed. To the point they are being drawn too much to it resulting to actually giving a shot to try it. I have also experienced this kind of situation not just gambling related, but in general. My curiosity got the best out of me to eventually buy and try it to see for myself.

This could be the case too for gambling players. Nice marketing strategy could really garner a gambling site a guaranteed client. Most of those people who often falls into ads trap are the newbies because they don't know the fundamentals yet and are very much willing to explore. Some people are also affected by ads in terms of being drawn back to their old gambling ways. Those people who are addicted are the usual victims of this. Relapse happens the moment they are triggered by something. In this instance, the advertisements of the casinos regarding promotions and bonuses. Ads could potentially attract again those who are planning to leave gambling behind depending on the level of discipline and determination of the gambler to change his gambling ways that are overly stimulating.
1412  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Effective strategy to get crypto news. on: November 05, 2022, 02:30:52 PM
You could check this site, this might help I believe since they have updated news hourly (if I'm not mistaken) about cryptocurrency, like any hot news about any cryptocurrency or interesting news about it that might help you in a certain way. Their UI is very clean and very user friendly, you're not gonna confuse on what to press or anything.

E D I T: I'm not promoting them or anything, just wanted to help OP.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which has better odds, lottery, online gambling, or sports betting? on: November 05, 2022, 12:48:38 PM
Sports betting is the best of them all, because it's the most fair, I might say.

Sports betting requires a lot of IQ, by solving probabilities and statistics to improve your chances of winning, by analyzing data that you've gather, etc. When you have the patient and good judgment about it, mostly you'll make profits, no doubt. Compare to lottery and online gambling, which relies on luck most of the time and a lot of random number combinations which makes it hard to guess what's the winning tactic.
1414  Economy / Economics / Re: friend I want to invest short term in bitcoin and crypto. to meet their living a on: November 05, 2022, 11:02:39 AM
a friend of mine came to me and he asked, is it possible to invest in bitcoin and crypto for the short term,? which is to meet daily needs, and I am confused to answer because I am still a beginner in bitcoin and crypto. and I want to ask everyone about it?

That's impossible unless he'll trade it on futures and get lucky all the time. Generating profits by merely holding it and hoping to earn profits to sustain their daily needs is not possible, I think they would only feel depress especially we're in a bearish market. Starting a small business is much more a great idea to generate income while they are making their capital go big, nonetheless, it's all about risking.
1415  Economy / Economics / Re: Is long-term employee retention a losing battle? on: November 05, 2022, 10:16:04 AM
Most of the wealthy people are greedy, who wants more money by giving a lot of work loads on their employees with their lower than minimum wage. I think the first one should act is the Government, for the company owners to change this very awful behavior since the beginning. Government should increase the minimum wage because we're in the era where everything is expensive.

Being an employee is unavoidable especially if you're trying to put food in the table for your family, or even for yourself, and greedy companies take this as an advantage making their employees taken for granted while gaining only stress, depression, and other emotional sickness.
1416  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is a puzzle ! on: November 04, 2022, 11:13:19 AM
We have to choose the right pieces and get them together , if we choose them wisely we will have a dream life and if not it will be full of dislocations and struggles!

Main parts of this puzzle are study, proper job , marriage, smart housing move and retirement plan! We shall Live like economist and study each step economically.

But it's the hardest thing to do, as per Oprah, one of the wealthiest women in America, "the difficult part in life is making the right decision" (or something to that effect). And this is true, and we really don't know if we made the right decision or not. So we should really think of our decisions right now because it will have a good or bad consequences in the future.

Take for example crypto investment, at least for me I discovered it in 2017 and the good thing is that I continue to stay through, learn many things are far as investments goes and now I'm enjoying some of the fruits of my labor for me and my family.

Life is all about trial and error, it's all about trying and risking everything to get something great, but failures can't be avoided, that's completely normal because it means you're trying. Getting out of your comfort is the key to grow, it will give you challenges in life which might test your courage but it is important not to quit.

It's better to try and try rather than having regrets because of not trying at all. The very only person that would support you and believe in you is yourself, so don't worry about what other people's think about you. Do your thing and let your success make the noise.
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN VS LANDED PROPERTY on: November 04, 2022, 10:06:25 AM
You've laid out what you think are the advantages but I still think comparing bitcoin and landed property investment is like apples and oranges. They serve their own purpose. One is like a source of active income since you still have to trade to realize an income while the other is passive.

....What will you rather invest in and why?
I like to have them both to be honest.

I agree.

They do have their own purpose but it will entirely depends on an individual capabilities on managing whatever he will choose. It's true that Bitcoin easier to manage, and could easily be kept where people wouldn't know it exist in your property. The only disadvantage of landed properties for me is that they are too vulnerable for anyone who wants to claim it's theirs, especially if we're talking about greedy government officials, or worst case scenario, terrorist or bad people who are willing to kill others just to get that property.
1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Satoshi Needs to Reveal His Identity ? on: November 04, 2022, 08:56:51 AM
There are so many people in the Bitcoin Talk Forum who have interest to discover the true identity of the Bitcoin and Blockchain inventor. Also there are few who oppose the matter, that Satoshi Nakamoto must not reveal his identity.

I am so much confused regarding matter. So I think, it would be better to arrange a concensus about the identity of the Bitcoin and Blockchain inventor. The members of this forum can vote for themselves and it will be helpful for Satoshi Nakamoto to make a correct discussion.

What is your opinion ?

Satoshi should've reveal himself from the start if he really wanted to, or even if he does want to reveal himself today, maybe he can't, because no one knows if he's dead or still alive. For me, this is a very childish dream to know who Satoshi Nakamoto is(are), trust me, if he chose to hid his identity from the beginning, I guess we should respect it and leave him in peace.
1419  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much gambling is in trading cryptocurrencies? on: November 03, 2022, 02:02:29 PM
Trading is gambling, but not literally. Trading is "gambling" means you're risking something, and that is the chances of making profits based on your technical analysis and other supporting techniques to increase the chances of making profits every trade.

While gambling itself directly involves money, without it, you can't bet, and mostly it relies on luck, could be easily manipulated and cheated on too, which can't happen in trading cryptocurrency, I believe.

This is only my opinion as well, trading cryptocurrency is more profitable than gambling. A cryptocurrency could be use for trading or hold it as an investment, either way, there would be times that you will not make a profit but that's okay, with enough experience and knowledge through that, eventually you'll reach the level of a trader that mostly makes profit.
1420  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why does everyone want to trade? on: November 03, 2022, 11:56:25 AM
Binary option is a different case compare to cryptocurrency trading. Binary option trading is more simple by betting on "buy" or "sell" in a certain timeframe, but it is addictive and the easiest way of losing money if you have no luck or not enough knowledge on what to do.

While in cryptocurrency trading, you'll buy a cryptocurrency to trade and could gives you profit in the long term if you invested on a good coin even if you don't trade in futures, which is also risky if you're not knowledgeable about it.

Trading is a good way of earning money, you are your own boss, and there's no limit on what you could earn unlike being an employee, that's why everyone wants to do it but it is hard for those doesn't have a lot of patient on learning.
