1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Satoshi Needs to Reveal His Identity ? on: November 04, 2022, 08:56:51 AM
There are so many people in the Bitcoin Talk Forum who have interest to discover the true identity of the Bitcoin and Blockchain inventor. Also there are few who oppose the matter, that Satoshi Nakamoto must not reveal his identity.

I am so much confused regarding matter. So I think, it would be better to arrange a concensus about the identity of the Bitcoin and Blockchain inventor. The members of this forum can vote for themselves and it will be helpful for Satoshi Nakamoto to make a correct discussion.

What is your opinion ?

Satoshi should've reveal himself from the start if he really wanted to, or even if he does want to reveal himself today, maybe he can't, because no one knows if he's dead or still alive. For me, this is a very childish dream to know who Satoshi Nakamoto is(are), trust me, if he chose to hid his identity from the beginning, I guess we should respect it and leave him in peace.
1422  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much gambling is in trading cryptocurrencies? on: November 03, 2022, 02:02:29 PM
Trading is gambling, but not literally. Trading is "gambling" means you're risking something, and that is the chances of making profits based on your technical analysis and other supporting techniques to increase the chances of making profits every trade.

While gambling itself directly involves money, without it, you can't bet, and mostly it relies on luck, could be easily manipulated and cheated on too, which can't happen in trading cryptocurrency, I believe.

This is only my opinion as well, trading cryptocurrency is more profitable than gambling. A cryptocurrency could be use for trading or hold it as an investment, either way, there would be times that you will not make a profit but that's okay, with enough experience and knowledge through that, eventually you'll reach the level of a trader that mostly makes profit.
1423  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why does everyone want to trade? on: November 03, 2022, 11:56:25 AM
Binary option is a different case compare to cryptocurrency trading. Binary option trading is more simple by betting on "buy" or "sell" in a certain timeframe, but it is addictive and the easiest way of losing money if you have no luck or not enough knowledge on what to do.

While in cryptocurrency trading, you'll buy a cryptocurrency to trade and could gives you profit in the long term if you invested on a good coin even if you don't trade in futures, which is also risky if you're not knowledgeable about it.

Trading is a good way of earning money, you are your own boss, and there's no limit on what you could earn unlike being an employee, that's why everyone wants to do it but it is hard for those doesn't have a lot of patient on learning.
1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling house responisbilty to protect people data on: November 03, 2022, 05:17:26 AM
This really depends on the TOS of the casino you are playing. If it is already stated in the casino's policies that they will include the names, at least the usernames of those who won especially the big prizes, and you agreed with it, then you should not complain about it. Because most casinos put disclaimer in their rules already. Once you agree with it, there's no turning back. Now, if you happen to not read it, it's your fault and responsibility.

As far as I know, gambling website do not necessarily put your private information at risk because they just use in publishing and announcing the winners are their usernames which isn't their real name. It's just a pseudonym used by most people to hide their identity. If you did write your username using your real name, perhaps you might ask for their help to just put a name for you to sensor your identity. I think we can always try to negotiate things first if possible because you might even meet halfway and have an agreement that's with a consent of both parties.
1425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal. on: November 03, 2022, 04:42:03 AM
It is up to each casino to adopt the strategy they wish regards deposits and withdrawals values and limits, but I guess a casino can profit much more if they give freedom to gamblers on this matter. If a gambler wants to deposit just a dollar, let him do this. It's much better to have 1000 customers depositing 1$ each than one customer depositing 100$, while all the rest will simply not play because they can't afford to spend more funds or they will find an alternative casino which allow them to play with lower amounts of money.

Now about withdrawals, it's not possible to be so flexible, because we know there are operational and network costs to be paid through fees, so a gambler must be aware it's not possible to deposit a single dollar and withdraw it as soon as he double his bankroll to 2$.

Totally agree with everything written on this.

Personally, I also like a platform if there's no specific amount you'll have to deposit to be able to play. And if ever there would be any, it always helps to accept a low deposit amount from the players. Because this just showcase inclusivity. You can cater a small time bettor and big bettor both at the same time which will eventually lead you to profit more since you gave the players the fluidity on how much they can deposit. If a player is a newbie, it will be too much to deposit a $100 for just testing the waters. Hence, giving this option of deposit will really encourage more players to play and try your site.

On the other hand, indeed, it will be not applicable on the withdrawal process because if this will be going to applied, there's a chance that the casino won't profit anymore. Setting a minimum amount for withdrawal is justifiable for me. The processing fee the moment you withdraw should be considered. Just like you said, a player shouldn't deposit the minimum amount then easily withdraw the moment he deemed necessary because he already won. There must be a specific withdrawable amount so the casino should profit from them in playing and bettiing. After all, gambling casinos are still a business, not a charity institution where you can just grow your fund giving them nothing in return.
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do think that POGO should be declared as legal or Illegal ? on: November 03, 2022, 04:06:17 AM
POGO helps many Filipinos to make the ends meet because of this industry. If the government will declare it illegal and ban it in the Philippines, surely, a lot of Filipinos will go unemployed which will make the unemployment rate higher, making a higher percentage of individuals relying on the help of the government aide alone. There are legally operating POGO in the Philippines already. What needs to be done instead of banning it is imposing strict regulations on POGO to determine which ones are the one legally operating their business and which isn't.

Of course, if POGO has a permit to operate legally speaking, they must have the documents that allows them to do so such as business and tax permits. Tax is one of the revenues of funds of the government as well so they really must look thoroughly so other can't evade taxation. In addition, POGO's should be monitored closely because there are some POGOs which conducts illegal activities such as scamming and phishing as their bread and butter. In illegally operating POGOs there are even human trafficking happening and some of the employees are not compensated well which makes it a nightmare instead of a blessing.
1427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A disheartening true life winning story on: November 01, 2022, 10:53:58 AM
I agree with most of the comments, the lottery company has to pay him. If they have had a problem with the database, it is their problem.

I hope we will have updates on this case, which according to the article will have the next hearing on 21 November. The thing is that trials can take a long time.

But if I were him, I would go all the way. I'm sure they haven't given the money back to the people who didn't win because they had a problem with the database, so in this case, whoever won, should get paid.

Very much agree.

The company must really pay him regardless of the challenging circumstance they are facing. The winning has nothing to do already about the error in the company's datable. It is their responsibility to always double or even triple check their system before and after making a draw to ensure that no unfortunate situation such as this will happen. I believe it is the company's negligence that brought them into the situation. I'm really glad the winner pursued legal action because if he won't it might happen again in the future. It is their duty to fulfill their obligations and pay the winning prize to the winner.

For sure, the winner and now, the complainant has enough evidences to support his claim to reach this far. I really do hope he'll win in the court and make the company pay for his winning prize as well as all the damages done such as wasted time by just filing and taking the necessary actions as well as the emotional stress it brought him. Hopefully, the winner will give us an update about this case because it is really disheartening to know you just won, but turns out you suddenly don't because of some bullshit of the lottery company.
1428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I play roullete in colombia and won some money today on: November 01, 2022, 09:35:27 AM
Fucking love this game. Always play maximum bet numbers 28 29 30 31 32 34 35 36.

I hit first time 36 with their maximum bet and won 150 usd.

Wgat are your favorute numbers
?

Congratulations on your winnings! Although this is a risky play. I wish every time you decide to go all in, you think of it over and over because not every sing time you'll win or hit the jackpot. It just so happen that you were lucky at that time and the odds are favoring your side. Which is why you won $150 which is already a good amount. But still, be careful because you might end up losing instead of winning. It's not always a good day in gambling.

Please also be reminded to set your limitations first before betting and only bet what you can only afford to lose. I get it that it is enticing to win huge amounts, but you should also take into consideration the losses you might stumble upon if things go worse. Risk assessment and management are a must too. Do not ever lose yourself because of the thrill and satisfaction because you might end up getting addicted in gambling, and that is a serious case. Nonetheless, wishing you more winnings on your future bets.
1429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Apple Pauses Gambling Ads in App Store Pages After Developers Complain on: November 01, 2022, 09:00:10 AM
I just don't understand reasoning behind Apple's decision on banning gambling ads honestly. Most companies claim that they protect kids by banning gambling ads as kids are main target group of mobile games. But anyways there are games out which are totally 18+, so game developers may prefer to put Gambling ads on these ones. Everyone is targeting high profits, Apple is being too greedy with that for sure.

Some companies really do ban gambling related advertisements because of the kid's welfare. They take into consideration what the youth is seeing and how it might affect their thinking and behavior. While it is a good move, I believe it is still up to the kid whether he will do anything that triggers his curiosity. It will still boil down on the parental guidance and upbringing because discipline is established, not imposed.

Regarding apple, I think the one liable here are the developers because they want those gambling ads to be removed in order to put up their own ads in their own application. With this assumed scenario, they can really profit because they would be getting wider reach to the apple users.
1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Would a Nation of Sports Gamblers Look Like? on: November 01, 2022, 08:28:52 AM

A nation of gamblers would be a nation of irresponsible citizenry. The constant fights that will often come on will be a thing of worry. Take for instance communities where gamblers are much and see the irresponsible living in that community with youngsters not wanting to get proper jobs or do anything meaningful with their lives. Everybody wants to hit it big so they can display their wealth. Morality and communal living will be lost in such nation and people can kill in such communities at the slightest disagreement.

Unfortunately, this makes sense.

Having a nation of gambler could be chaotic. While we could somehow lean on the positive aspects of gambling, we can't really deny the fact that gamblers tend to be greedy and boastful in the long run. I agree with what you said that constant fights could possible happen from time to time because different types of gamblers have different opinions and all of them want to be heard which could lead to some disagreements and fight amongst each other. Since they hold different kinds of beliefs and principles, as well as perspective, it is probable that they'll clash the moment the other try to impose what works for him.

Indeed, everyone's goal will be hitting the jackpot just for the sake of bragging and not really inspiring other gamblers. In fact, this so-called inspirational and motivational posts about winning could be a trap too, for you to bet over and over chasing the winning prize. Without actually knowing how they got there: the process, time, and fund spent altogether.
1431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are five things you will do if you win huge amount of money?? on: November 01, 2022, 07:54:34 AM
If ever I'll win a big amount from a bet, I will allocate the winning prize appropriately so that I won't regret in the end.

I'll probably allocate the 75% of it in investments. The remaining 25% will become emergency fund and savings. Of course, before doing so, I will research profitable investment that I can put my money to in order to profit. The first thing I will consider is buying a lot and building an apartment I can let people rent. That way, I'll generate profit passively. Next would be building my dream business. I'll also buy some things I need such as a laptop or computer to be built in scratch with a suitable specifications I intend to use it for which is trading. Next would be giving a portion of my winnings to my family. So they can start something and stand on their own. Lastly, give back to the less fortunate. Since It is by luck and being blessed is something not entirely my own doing, I'd be glad to share it to those who are in need.
1432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: October 31, 2022, 12:03:11 PM
Here we go with another Jake Paul boxing match.

I don't know, but I'm so tired of seeing news about him being matched with professional boxers. People will really do anything for fame and money. Perhaps him going with more and more exhibition matches means more money to generate in no-brainer way that's why he do it over and over. I noticed he's always choose a boxer that is retired or way past his age in his matches. Maybe because to have a more probability to win because of the opponent's stamina condition. But it still infuriates me that he's given more attention rather than those boxers who deserve more.

I really do hope this time he'll get all the punch and strikes to be knocked out so he'll learn his lesson well. He can stick into his career being a so-called influencer and YouTuber because that's what he is good at, not in boxing. He and his brother are definitely doing fights just for the sake of money and clout they get. It's such a shame really to those boxers who trained so hard just to get where they are right now to be able to fight off with high caliber names in the boxing and mixed martial arts industry, only to be bypassed with some boxer-wannabe who barely underwent proper training for boxing.
1433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it really possible to quit on these reasons on: October 31, 2022, 11:29:56 AM
Everyone could quit gambling if they would want to; it is just a matter of self- discipline. Greed and money are the main factors why a gambler continues to play. Best thing to do is diversion of activity. Find something that would consume your time and eventually it would replace the hours you are spending in gambling activities. Make friends as well who are not into betting because if you will be still surrounded by people who are into it, you'll surely have a hard time to get over it.
Losing a huge amount, to some people, is enough to give up on something but there are people who will get more drive from such instance or to simply play more. Likewise with winning big time.

It's indeed only a matter of self-discipline to be able to quit gambling without hesitations. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't possess that. They aren't even self-aware of the bad habits they have which results to them self-sabotaging their very movement for their supposedly success. Greediness often take control of the mind of those people who don't know how and when to establish a healthy boundary they might benefit from. They don't know how to do risk management and risk assessment, which is why they often chase winnings after getting a win. Or chasing the lost money after they consecutively loss.

If someone do not have the ability to cut off gambling into his life, then the more probability he will get lost in his gambling journey. Because every gambler should know when to stop. A responsible gambler knows his limit and therefore won't push his luck in defying the boundaries he made for himself to follow. If you can't do that, then you are not a responsible gambler. Despite the ratio of winnings and losses, the moment you hit your maximum try to bet, it should be understood you'll have to quit for your own sake and for the other people around you too such as your family which can be affected by your gambling habits.
1434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: October 31, 2022, 10:54:41 AM
I haven't seen this one on the news, perhaps because it's still on December and it's just an exhibition match.

I find it surprising that Pacman is also now doing exhibition matches like other retired boxers that are known to be reputable. But I find it comforting that the proceeds of his match will go to the less fortunate ones. If only other boxers will have some compassion to those who need it the most, then probably I'll try to watch some of those boxing matches even though I know who's likely to win.

Pacman is fighting a martial artist YouTuber which makes him on the advantage side. Since Pacquiao has already went through a lot and is known to be a good boxer, the odds will be on his favor. Perhaps Pacquiao is craving to fight recently and to help others which is hitting two birds with one stone in this instance. A retired boxer can never really get enough of the thrill and the excitement they feel inside the ring. Money is a plus too. But since this exhibition match will be for charity, I bet he will do it for the feeling and to serve as a breather since he just got out of politics in Philippines, which means he has now a lot of free time.
1435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it really possible to quit on these reasons on: October 31, 2022, 10:19:30 AM
It is really possible to quit gambling based on the reasons you stated.

Once you bet and won a huge amount, some people might really abandon gambling because they already got what they have been aiming for. These types of people are those who know the risks about gambling, especially the risk in chasing more and more winnings. These people are also the type of people who want to safeguard their winning prize before bad thing such as consecutive losses, happen to them. I can say that these people already conditioned their mind beforehand that the moment they win big, or at least big enough to starting something, they will leave gambling. Personally, I think this is good because they know their limitations and they are setting up healthy boundary they will benefit from.

The second you mentioned is definitely one of the most common ones. I have a friend that lost $700 on gambling bet which made him quit gambling totally. A loss is really painful especially if it's really big and if you know it to yourself that it is not something that you can afford or basically just a spare money. The regret will linger as much as long as you can't accept that you were defeated and you lost. But that's okay, because eventually you'll also be okay and you'll move forward. What matters the most is that you learned your lesson, although just the hard way. You see, learning when to quit is a strong trait because some things aren't just meant for you and aren't really be good to you.

Now, this is the goal of them all. Learning to establish your boundaries and setting your thinking that you can quit whenever you want to, whatever circumstance there is, may it be continually winning or losing, or a mix of both is a good thing. If you planted it in your mind that you are only in for gambling for satisfaction and the good stuff that comes along with it, then you'll certainly be able to quit and leave whenever you want. You won't get addicted if you know when stop. Quitting gambling whenever you want doesn't necessarily equate to having whatever you want in life. Sometimes, it's the other way around. Go figure.

This is a silly one, but it happens in real life. The moment you got a partner, they will have a say in your habits and your ways. Of course, not to the extent of controlling on how you do you, but only in the extent that they'll remind you that something is not doing you good like gambling. Which is why a lot of wives tell their husbands to quit because they have other things to prioritize. Necessities always come first before luxuries. It shouldn't even be stated because it should be known already as an automatic rule once you have a family.
1436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Apple Pauses Gambling Ads in App Store Pages After Developers Complain on: October 31, 2022, 09:42:27 AM
I was confused at first about the complains on gambling advertisements. While it was still apple's discretion to ban or not the advertisements related to gambling, I believe the consumer, particularly the users' voices should be heard the most in this situation. While developers can purchase different ads they can run on the background of their apps, it's also known that apple can run ads that they deem useful for the users.

If the problem is the frequent mismatch, the developers have the right to complain especially if their category is far from gambling. I think Apple's revenue from advertisements wouldn't really be much affected since a lot of brands and platforms are currently their client and are planning to be their client. Since apple uphold their reputation, they won't let it get ruined. Assurance of security is what they are most famous for, so the fact there are complaints already in their developer hierarchy, they'll likely to offer resolutions from there so the issue won't spread further.
1437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will This Habit Lead You To Chase Your Losses And Addictive To Gambling on: October 29, 2022, 12:41:24 PM
Do you think it's unhealthy to always post your winnings on social media and forums because this habit will lead you to chase your losses and bet more so you can post your winning, I find this habit forming and this is bad especially if people are following you and always looking forward to your winning posts.

First off, I think there's no need to post your winnings in social media, because it might back fire at you if someone gets jealous of your winnings and report you or whatever. Anyways, even if you didn't post it on any social media platforms, you will always chase your losses because winning feed your ego too much, that you must win no matter what.

That's why settings goals is important, for you to be satisfied whenever you hit your profit goal in a day or monthly.
1438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How mentally prepared are you? on: October 29, 2022, 04:59:21 AM
To be honest, the only thing I knew way back then was I could earn money in Bitcoin. I knew from the start about its volatility, so I didn't panic about Bitcoin whenever there's a news saying "Bitcoin is dead" every bearish market. Every days that passes by, I learned more about cryptocurrency which helps me to earn even more. I even dropped out of college because I find my passion here, my career, because I don't want to be an employee.
1439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens to Our Bitcoin and Other Assets If We Die? on: October 29, 2022, 04:20:37 AM
There are two different scenarios that could happen when you die. First, if you didn't plan it early, about what your lawyer would do in case you die, your family will never get the assets you had. Second, if you planned it out early, surely your family will get those things that you've left behind. Death is very unpredictable, that's why it's better to sort things out earlier, for your hardwork not to be wasted.
1440  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risk management: How to set a Stop Loss on: October 28, 2022, 01:32:50 PM
Quote
Manually: Watching the price and manually clicking when the level is reached. Good if you are an intraday trader, and don’t leave open positions overnight. It is not good when price moves violently, especially in crypto, often you will not have time to react.

I find this interesting and it looks like an advise never to leave running market over to the next trading day, this is dangerous. Every trading day has it own challenges so never expect total continuation of the previous day. So close your running trade if on profit or you put stop loss if you are losing before the night falls.

Every day is new, prepare a fresh set up and see direction of the market because if you leave a running to the next day, you will be emotionally confused to take accurate trading decision.

Leaving a trade overnight is still good as long as you set a stop loss as well as take profit, it will just automatically stop if the commands are successfully done. It will only become dangerous if you didn't put those things, and I can't see any reason why anyone would not put those two important things to lower the risk of losing money as much as possible.
