1341  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Secret of success in futures trading on: December 02, 2022, 09:57:52 AM
The secrets to success in trading are; the dedication, the consistency, the will to grow, the open minded who are willing to listen to other advices and tips, the one who learns from his past bad trades, the one who doesn't compare himself to other successful trades because he knows that he has his own phase. Trading won't make you rich overnight, it takes a lot of time, you need plenty of experience before you could finally make profits in the long run.
1342  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why everybody is panicking ? Its a game of greed and fear ! on: December 02, 2022, 09:22:40 AM
Newcomers in the blockchain are most likely the people who do panic selling or panicking in this kind of situation of the market. It is either they bought at $20,000 and the price dumps even more, so they are thinking silly possibilities like it would not go up again and their money would be gone to waste in the long run, something like that or even more worst scenario. Once they get used to bearish market, they will completely act different and will not panic again in the next bearish market.
1343  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do when trading gives you heart problem. on: December 02, 2022, 08:50:21 AM
We know that the market is dynamic,as in it changes constantly, and as such,an investor who isn't careful enough to know when he is investing will fall in to heart problems or emotional trauma as a result of a massive fall in value, that is why it is important to condition your mind in a way that you won't get heart failure when you are at the loosing end.
Every investor knows there is risk in the game, and taking the risk is what shows you are ready to eradicate poverty from your life.

If he knows the risk of trading, then I hardly believe that he will suffer that much to get a heart attack. An aware person will most likely get stress for some time but will not go get an heart attack. Maybe it is possible if his family has a history about that disease, because it is hereditary in genes. The very best solution if trading is always giving you a hard time that you're in the point where you mental health is at risk is to quit and find other way to earn money.

There is no point on continuing trading if you can't take the outcome of losses, because losing a trade in only normal.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lottery's defense to not paying a huge winning. on: December 01, 2022, 12:52:12 AM
Firstly I wish I can be updated about the court rulings of this case if possible because I will really love to know the outcome of the full ruling of the court. One thing is certain that no matter what the whatever the ruling is, the casino has lost a great percentage of its customer's trust and I do think the player has a great edge of winning the case provided he has a sound lawyer and all the necessary proves and aswell an incorruptible judge because in a country like Nigeria, the company has every possibility of buying their way through by possibly bribing the judge with offered amount the accuser rejected

This makes sense.

I really do hope as well that the court will side on the supposedly winner of the lottery because he has already exerted a lot of time, effort, and money just to win this case. It will not be easy because there are certain procedures and processes that has to be done in order to uncover the truth. But if the player has enough proofs and evidences to back up his claim that he indeed won, then there should be a smooth judgement and decision in ruling based on the gathered pieces of information.

Justice system of the country in which OP is residing to also plays a great role in the outcome of this issue because if a country's justice system is fucked up, then there's a little chance that the one telling the truth will win. This is because money and power could buy anything if the authorities who are in charge are all rotten. Hopefully, we'll be updated with this issue and really rooting for him to win because a money should be honored to whom it's due.
1345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: November 29, 2022, 05:13:24 AM
This kind of gambling is always fun because these animals fights in the circle of human, have you been involved in this kind of animal gambling or have you watched such game before.
As someone who has pets, I don't think it's always fun or never been fun. There's the satisfying feeling when someone sees the struggle of the other animal and the fight itself but that's not on me.

It's the culture that makes us think that it's fun but if you try to analyze the situation, you'll eventually going to realize that it's no fun at all.

Well, that depends if you really think that it's fun.

As someone who has animals as pets, it's not really very enjoyable to watch an animal suffer just because someone has placed a bet on it. Way back when I was still a child, I also engaged in some sort of betting on spider fighting. It was fun way back when I'm still not knowledgeable enough that they have feelings and they deserve to live too. But now, I wouldn't really place a bet on something that involves cruelty because it just tolerates and even boosts the urge of those people who organize such because there are people engaging in it.

Seeing how the two gamecocks fight against each other because humans tell them to and put them in such situation wherein survival of the fittest is the only way to be alive and fighting will be their only way out is such a horrible idea. But then again, not everyone possess the same level of empathy that a person has. It varies to different extent and some do not even possess it at all. If it's your definition of fun, I won't really support you, but I won't impose my beliefs on you.
1346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you still win with free spins? on: November 29, 2022, 04:39:17 AM
Everyones a winner if you keep the BTC and it rises, Ive won just by gambling but forgetting it was a balance I still had spare.  The casino kept it for me a couple years and BTC went up alot, that effect though its long term is a nice one.   This why I emphasise any method to play that has longevity, luck plays out over a longer time frame then we imagine and sometimes that night wont be yours so handle it and move on dont try to turn the tide of bad luck in one night is good advice.

This is good because it turned out good for you. However, let's also be reminded that in free spins nowadays you can only win a small amount. Perhaps before, the prizes were big, but now, you can't really expect and rely on free spin winning. In addition, you have to wager a certain amount in order for you to withdraw it. If you want to get your prize in free spin, you have to spend some to the casino which isn't really a smart move because of the low prizes that you can only get.

You also have to consider that some casinos give only a specific time frame in which you can claim your winning prize in free spin. Hence, the option of holding it will be out of the choices if you really want to cash it out.
1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first attempt to play gambling on: November 29, 2022, 03:14:44 AM
How was your first start? Did you play blindly or spent some time to learn.?

I cant really remember when I started gambling for the first time but I can say that I did learn first before spending money to gamble. For example, here in my country and when I was kid. Kids used to buy a "lottery" game but they did not know that it is a lottery. We used to buy candies with random prizes but there is also a chance not to get anything except the candies. The prizes were in a form of something that kids like such as toys, books, snacks, etc. From this experience, I do believe that most gamblers spent some time to learn but maybe they did not realize that they learned something that can be considered as gambling.

It was the little things that paved most of the players nowadays in gambling. I remember during my youth, we also have our little ways that mirrors engagement in gambling. Way back, we play card games and make a bet on who will win among our fellow players and even make a bet on our own risking. We don't necessarily bet money, but we bet the cards that we have. We also made bets on spiders fighting on a stick. There were also times that we bet while playing marbles and the likes.

It was really a fun childhood for me. It showcased the little introduction for gambling. Before, it made me thrilled and nervous at the same time if I'm going to win or lose which is the emotions gamblers in online set up and physical casinos feel too. I guess these are my little attempt initially in gambling before diving into the risk of uncertainty  in this period of time.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you still win with free spins? on: November 28, 2022, 10:22:45 AM
Sometimes you get certain free spins on a gambling site in a casino, but you have to make sure that there are no certain conditions attached, otherwise it will be difficult to get the money released. You should also assume that the free spins are relatively small amounts, which is why they are also given away for free, of course. I know that many casinos on the forum also regularly give away free spins. But at the promos section, you can also keep an eye out for free giveaways here and there. In general you can say that it is possible, but it involves small amounts.

It rarely happens that there are no other requirements for you to withdraw your winning prize in free spins because most casinos really require now the players to wager a certain amount before they can cash out the amount they got from the promotion. But it wouldn't really be worth it if the amount you won is relatively small compared to the amount needed to be wagered. Since it's just only a free spin, expect that the amount will only be small too simply because it is given "free". They won't really give away a big amount of free money. Otherwise, they'll end up being bankrupt.

Perhaps they could do it only in the beginning, but not entirely. They could do it just to gauge players and engagement in the website to increase traffic and amount of players that will play on their site which could lead to be their potential regulars. But not to an extent that they'll lose a huge fund over it. They'll cut the cost eventually and allot it in other features and security that will make their website better and appealing.
1349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: November 28, 2022, 09:47:31 AM
It's awful when in plain XXI Century people still support animal fights. It is even more despicable having someone making money from that. Cock fight is just like a dog fight, it is f%$7&in&/%$/%&$ horrendous. I apologize to tell you but, people who favour this sort of activity should be behind bars for life.
I personally despize people who support animal abuse. I mean, what is wrong with people!? We already enslave animals on industrialized farms. Every day thousands of animals die so that we can eat. Isn't that enough?

Now, animal fights only exist due to the people who place bets, so if you are one of those, I strongly encourage you to refrain from doing so. We have come to a phase in our Human development, where we do not need that sort of savagery anymore. It is not just wars... How the hell are we supposed to build a better world for our children when things like this are not banned?
Animal right or protection only exists in the developed world. Most developing nations don't have sympathy or compassion for animals. Animals are treated as if they don't feel pains or have feeling. I find it very strange that a footballer was criticized and even fined for kicking his cat. While in my locality people starve and even beat their animals with wipe. I feel terribly sorry for animals in my country that I had to adopt a dog that was starving to death out of compassion.

But come to think of it, what is the difference between boxing and cockfighting? They are almost the same because they both involve living thing with flesh and blood. We have heard news of boxers or even wrestlers dying in the ring. Do you think all violent sports should be stopped?

There are different organizations all over the world dedicated for animal welfare. In some countries, animal welfare isn't much prioritized because of lack of funds and compassion of the people for the animals. This mainly is rooted to the government negligence on other aspects of life and country that has to be looked upon due to their incompetence and greediness. While it is true that in underdeveloped country animals aren't usually taken care of, it doesn't necessarily mean that you could be heartless. Because afterall, we are still in-charge of how we will act and how we will empathize with others even if it isn't fellow human.

Regarding the difference between cockfighting and boxing, there's a really a huge gap between them. They clearly isn't the same even if fighting is involved in both. In boxing, a human is conscious and can give consent on the bout. Humans can decide for themselves. The fight will only commence with their permission of participation in it. However, with cockfighting, animals are being subjected into fight without their consent because they can't even give one to begin with. They are just adhering with what's told of them. They don't want to fight on their own will, but are only forced to fight for the sake of bet that their owner or handler can get after the fight. It isn't the same with boxing wherein a boxer can back out if he wanted to.
1350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I Am So Done With Betting Until.... on: November 28, 2022, 08:42:11 AM

And guess what, there might be another bettor who experienced the same with OP.

There's another upsetting game that shocks the whole world and that is Morocco beating Belgium.

This year's World Cup is really full of surprising upsets. Should be a good reference on our next betting journey in the next World Cup.
I was to mention it, this World Cup is full of surprises. Morocco beating Belgium that too without a goal from Belgium.

Whether it is sports betting or casino games, if we're lucky we'll be able to make a win. Just think of going with the underdog and making a win. We enjoy it, same as that when the much expected result goes against our selection it is time to move on and take a break than thinking of recovering the losses.

Betting games especially sports betting can really surprise you because even though the game's odd are all laid off and there's already a predicted winner, tables might turn near the end of the game. It's not something someone can really tell because there's always a slightest chance of winning to those behind.

The underdog might be able to take home the title without anyone really expecting. It's a mix of luck and strategy for the team and a matter of possessing the right knowledge and odds favor for you. It will depend on how you will assess and analyze their record and the game itself and how the team will lift themselves to make it to their goal.
1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How are Online casino's and sports betting platforms coping? on: November 28, 2022, 08:07:59 AM
That's the advantage that the online casinos took during the pandemic. As everything has shut down due to the pandemic and many are looking for entertainment.

They've decided to get on with the different online casinos for which has resulted to more users on their end. But as things come back lately, I think that things are normal again for them.
Online casinos were the option many people went for during pandemic as there was lockdown for the virus not to continue spreading. There are people that were not gambling that time but because of idleness, they gamble online, this makes online casinos to continue to operate at the time. But sport gambling sites that do not have casino would be affected as many leagues were suspended for sometimes.

In my area, no pandemic again, you can enter bank without nose mask and other places nose mask were compulsorily worn, no need for it again. You can go to casino or offline betting agents to gamble even without nose mask now. The pandemic is gone here and in many places too.

Online casinos indeed became popular during the peak of pandemic because there are many protocols involved that are strictly imposed for safety reasons. The peak of the pandemic brought the gambling world into the comforts of the players home. Some casinos even started during the pandemic. It became an opportunity for some to make a profit and it became an outlet for some to release all of their frustrations and stress from the crisis back then. It wasn't easy surviving the pandemic for sure especially to those casinos that are establishment-based. Since operations are halted for physical casinos, they had to step up their game to be able to stay in the gambling industry.

But right now, I can say that they are doing good so far, especially those casinos with physical locations such as in resorts and the likes. This is because the pandemic is gradually being solved by achieving the herd community with the help of vaccines. Of course, some places still impose strict health protocols, most of them are those indoors. But other than that, most areas are now transitioning into new normal given that we are already recovering from the pandemic crisis.
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling winner identity on: November 26, 2022, 04:00:44 PM
I just want to add that in some countries, lottery winners are revealed in public because of transparency issues. I just don't know what specific countries are those. But as far as my knowledge on that is concerned, it's only the lottery as the gambling type that has cases of revealing winners.

Outside the lottery or other gambling types, there are no cases I  heard that winners are revealed. And if we refer to online gambling sites, that is something we can't expect even if there's no privacy data act or something regulations like that.

Lotteries require public transparency because the ticket issuers aren't incurring any risk when people purchase tickets, so it'd be easy to hand select a winner. Other types of gambling, such as playing on a betting platform, require the same transparency between the platform and the player but that transparency can be private because the only money at risk is the individual player. If the player's inclined, they can request proof that the game they're playing on isn't rigged.

Realistically, you could incorporate blockchain tech into lottery systems to make them anonymous and transparent and I've seen some online betting platforms pull this off. Haven't yet seen a country adopt a blockchain lottery system yet.

It's not yet utilized in lottery outlets to use blockchain technology because it's not widely adopted just yet by companies. The need for it to be used in lottery system isn't much needed which perhaps is the reason why there's little to none lottery company using it yet. Their system still works for them well in drawing the combination for winners and storing the data in their database.

Regarding transparency, transparency is much needed in this kind of gamble because a huge amount of money is involved. One must not be tainted in order to maintain their reputation and credibility. If they will expose the name of the winner, the real name, and not an alias without the person's consent, they will most likely suffer a case in the court. Agreement is really a must in order to have a hassle-free process.
1353  Economy / Economics / Re: Corrupt people in crypto on: November 26, 2022, 03:10:56 PM
<...>
All these incidences happened because of the greed of some people. It is important to control the entry of these kind of people as developers or people behind some new crypto projects. Otherwise people will have very less trust left on crypto in general and people will move to other alternatives. What do you think are the required steps to prevent these incidences from occurring in future ? Or are these unavoidable ?

These are avoidable, they only chose to risk their money on those project because that is a high risk high reward move. Cryptocurrency is all about trial and error, you cannot trust your money even on those "good" project because anything can happen in just the blink of an eye if they really want to run away with their investors money.

That's why it is important to know that it's not always about winning in crypto, it's about risking what you can afford to lose in exchange of experience to make you grow more or instant profits.
1354  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time management on: November 26, 2022, 02:34:00 PM
Those who do time management are very organized people. Time management are for responsible people, they value their time doing important things in their life, they always respect every minutes or even seconds on their activities, that's why they always finish their works, assignments, plans, etc...
I'm more like a multitasking person, I'm more productive when I'm doing multiple things at once because I don't have much time left to finish it.
1355  Other / Off-topic / Re: Increase in cost of running the family on: November 26, 2022, 01:42:05 PM
It is important to have family planning because the Government doesn't care for it's people. Continuous price hike for all the goods we need in everyday lives while our salary doesn't even change, that's why we are struggling for our everyday living, not all of us have a decent job that pays well. So yeah, don't make another child of don't make your own family if you're already struggling feeding yourself and giving yourself what it needs.

Don't take other people to share with your struggles in life, especially a child that most of us treat like a retirement plan or an investment.
1356  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: November 26, 2022, 01:10:07 PM
I would prefer to be a business owner, because I'm my own boss, I can start anytime I want, I can take a vacation anytime I want, and I can do whatever I want in my business. Being a businessman has so much potential than being an employee, because there's a big difference on working for someone, and working for yourself. In short, being an employee means you're making their company rich, while being a businessman means making yourself rich.

Work smart, not work hard.
1357  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon Musk want to buy bitcointalk on: November 25, 2022, 01:10:25 PM
I think he won't even bother buying Bitcointalk, there's no marketing value here except for cryptocurrency. Elon wants Twitter because it's huge, a lot of people are using it, worst case scenario is if he's after for the data as well that he might use to something, who knows. He could easily advertise his products there for free if he buys it. I also doubt that this forum is for sale, I bet this would not be sold in any amount because this forum is very important.
1358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could have Satoshi faced if he made himself known from the beginning on: November 25, 2022, 11:53:56 AM
He will eat death threats for his breakfast, lunch, dinner and might be dream of it when he sleeps at night, if he would fall asleep with those kind of stress he'll be having when he reveal himself in the public since the start. Greedy powerful individuals will be the top danger for him, because no one wants in the government for fiat to be overthrown by Bitcoin in the future.

I could never imagine Satoshi Nakamoto having a peaceful life if he did show himself in the public when he released Bitcoin.
1359  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reasons why the 95% of future traders lose all of their money on: November 25, 2022, 10:06:20 AM
I agree.

Trading is indeed a very complicated way of earning money, especially if your mindset is to get rich overnight, or get big profits in every trade, that will just pressure yourself that will lead to big disappointments every time you will make a bad trade. The next thing that will happen is that your mental and emotional health would be affected and sooner it will be the one who is going to dictate you on what to do next, that mostly are bad trades.

The next would be chasing you losses because your pride said so, you'll never grow because your pride said so, you won't get back your losses because you will keep making mistakes, and that is because of yourself telling that you don't need more knowledge in order to gain back your losses.
1360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To those who do not care about their privacy. Why? on: November 24, 2022, 01:28:39 PM
Most people do care about their privacy, but they don't know if they have some privacy if they are doing something on the internet or maybe some really doesn't care at all. Some people are too confident that they are safe as long as they are not doing any shady things in the internet, but that's not the case. All of us are not safe in the internet if we're not aware about possible things that could happen if we are not going to be careful, like randomly clicking links, deep diving in the dark web without proper knowledge and skills to stay anonymous, etc...

Fiat doesn't have any security at all, compare to cryptocurrency, that is why I love to store Bitcoin rather than fiat because it is more convenient and has a lot more value than fiat itself.
