1981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PROS AND CONS OF CRRYPTOGAMBLING. on: May 11, 2022, 02:15:54 PM
Just like any other, crypto gambling has its pros and cons. Gambling using cryptocurrency could either possess beneficial or harmful things to someone depending on how he will utilize it. As for the cons, the decentralized nature is beneficial because of the anonymity. There won't be visible transactions on your debit or credit card that could taint your reputation if you have one to uphold. It could be a source of additional income if you are disciplined enough to know when to try and stop. And at the same time it could be a form of relaxation.

It has its cons too. Your fund inside a crypto gambling platform could change depending on the market season. If its bullish or bearish. The volatility of the cryptocurrency in the market would affect your holdings in the cryptogambling platform which could either be win or lose to you. And lastly just like the usual, addiction in it is possible if you won't be able to control yourself.
1982  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Bet: A wider Array of Altcoins are being usef on: May 11, 2022, 01:33:47 PM
Crypto betting offers the most comfortable way of betting for a lot of people. Some persons are gamblers but they also have a family and do not want their wife to find out in their credit card statement that they are gambling. The credit card statement can be seen by family members while by playing with crypto is very difficult to see,in this way this is the most comfortable form of gambling and therefore it is only natural that this will only increase with the passing of time as more and more people join in.

Agree with this. Crypto betting has been widely used by gamblers due to the reasons you've mentioned such as to avoid card history of gambling betting and of course, to hide the transactions about it from their relatives most especially to their family, wife, or girlfriend/boyfriend. Although I'm not quite certain regarding the usage of altcoins in gambling website and casinos. Because as far as i know, the most popular and widely used in casinos is bitcoin.

I seldom hear that a website is accepting altcoins in betting. But I know there are a few already accepting it. Not just being wide used though. Perhaps OP you could put where you got the information so that we could also verify.
1983  Economy / Gambling / Re: RATING of TOP 10 E-SPORTS SPORTSBOOKS on: May 11, 2022, 11:54:36 AM

Most of the gambing sites mentioned are not very much familiar to me. Just a suggestion, you could edit this post and write how you came up with these websites' ranking. Put below the list the things you assessed in order to place them in this order. Did you have specific category for this? If so, please state it here so that we will know what are the basis.

Some people are curious too as to why they belong to the top tier list when most of them are not really popular and only small population of players play. If you conducted a survey, provide the results as well.
1984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Carbon Footprint on: May 10, 2022, 03:50:10 PM
We're waiting for cryptocurrencies to be fully adopted in mainstream but we know it's contributing to damaging the planet. If there won't be solutions to make mining cryptocurrency environmentally friendly how can it be sustainable on current trends?

Are you worried about Bitcoin mining energy consumption? I've read it's using more electricity than Argentina, it's using more than energy than American Airlines and Bitcoin miners in Iceland use more electricity than their entire national domestic consumption.

Oil and mineral extraction is damaging our environment, selling tobacco is contributing to cancer cases but it doesn't stop investors wanting to make profit in unethical projects. If we're looking at ethical facts cryptocurrency traders are involved in a business that's damaging the planet, that's what makes me feel uneasy. What's your position?

I've read this several times already. Just like any other, bitcoin really consume a lot of power and energy. However, right now, people are gradually making a stance to switch to more eco-friendly ways in order to continue bitcoin mining and at the same time, to conserve energy and save our planet. This is often the talk regarding carbon footprint. I'm actually curious as to why the blame is always pinpointing bitcoin, but not really scrutinizing other facilities, factories, and big companies regarding their electricity usage.

Not to add the pollution that they are contributing to the environment. Most of these companies are the biggest pollutants aside from using huge amount of non-renewable resources.
1985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon and and how this "dude" could effect bitcoin in the future? on: May 10, 2022, 03:09:02 PM
You will agree Elon has really inspired many people to bitcoin his pro or against bitcoin tweet directly reflect the red and green candles on bitcoin charts.

With owning this huge platform of Twitter he can either break it or make it. I think.

Let if adopts "doge" as some kind of default crypto currency for Twitter it will be huge move and might effect bitcoin bigtime.

Or let say if come to sense and realizes the truth and embrace bitcoin I can't imagine how huge the green candle will be.

Elon indeed can manipulate the market with his tactics. He has wide influence given his following. Perhaps this is the reason why he wanted so bad to own twitter. Which is to influence many more so that the coin he will promote will boom once more. However, I doubt if people would easily trust him to think what happened on his previous crypto coin.

Although we know for a fact that twitter isn't really all about crypto. Not every users of it is really interested or actually participating in establishing their investment portfolios, so it would still be challenging for him to make his agenda happen. Hopefully, he won't restrict the users from what they are used to in twitter.
1986  Economy / Gambling / Re: Online casino. What's the reliability of the technology? on: May 10, 2022, 02:05:39 PM
snip
I think it's natural that beginners always want to win and even people who are used to playing gambling also want to always win. But unfortunately, their desire to always win will not always come true and this must be realized them so that they are not eager to win. These people really need to limit themselves to gambling and always realize that playing gambling has only two choices, namely winning and losing. Maybe they won today but that doesn't mean they will be able to win big today because who knows in the next minute, they will lose and lose their previous winning money. So the awareness to immediately stop playing gambling after getting a win is very necessary.

Indeed. Being greedy won't get you anywhere. If these players won't know where to set limitations, they will definitely end up bankrupt after some time. Having boundaries is a healthy tip to save yourself from getting addicted in gambling. It should be something you should establish first everytime you want to bet on something.

Continuous winning might be so fulfilling and encouraging to bet more. However, it could also lead you to losing everything you've won and worked hard for if you won't be able to manage and control your urge to play more. The more you desire greater than what you already have, the more risk you get yourself into. Do not be blinded by the shiny lights it reflects. Most of the time, it's just an illusion to lure you to heavier consequences.
1987  Economy / Gambling / Re: I miss the old OnChain gambling on: May 10, 2022, 12:04:48 PM
At the old times, their was only few casino and now was used by the few people. The price of bitcoin was around 500$ and will be distributed among all the winner. The kyc procedures was easy for before. Now the procedure of kyc hard. And they taking huge time for the verification of our kyc.So it’s hard to hold our Privacy.

Back then, crypto gambling has few competitors yet and at the same time, there are also few players. The gambling industry isn't much crowded and aren't abused by people, hence the KYC before is much easier compared today. Right now, there are many casinos and players already and these casinos and gambling websites are now abiding to the laws in which state they belong to. Regulation of gambling is now a thing because of increase rate of addiction and other repercussions as well as the tax revenue being generated in it.

If you don't really want to undergo KYC, there are still casinos and gambling website that don't really ask and mandate it. However, there's only a few left because most of them really ask for it for verification purposes the moment you will make a transaction such as withdrawal.
1988  Economy / Economics / Re: Solution to unemployment: creating new jobs or early retirement on: May 10, 2022, 11:32:32 AM
The increase rate of unemployment of each countries are really alarming most especially if it is in happening in the third world countries. A lot of people are being affected by this in which can greatly take a toll on the way how they manage to survive in the daily basis. This also affects the income and projected GDP of a country. Because if there is lesser rate of employment, low tax and revenue will be collected which are essential because it is used in building certain projects such as structures, road repairs and maintenance, government aid, and the likes.

I believe creating more job opportunities that compensate well will be of great help to address this long existing issue of unemployment. If there would be more jobs that have decent salary, more people will be encouraged to pursue  it to sustain their needs and not just to rely on the government. In addition, there will be lesser rate of poverty because the people are now given the chance to earn for a living, good for a long-term solution. Not just a band-aid solution where they will go back to square one once the aid is already spent.

Early retirement won't also be possible because there are institutions such as insurances that would be affected if they would deliberately lower it than the usual. To add, for a person to be able to early retire, one must be financially capable to sustain the lifestyle he want without relying on anything. It can't be attained if someone has no job to begin with to save for their future.
1989  Economy / Economics / Re: Will BTC be used as a world currency?? on: May 10, 2022, 10:57:57 AM
The central organization together with the government won't approve it. This is because they don't trust bitcoin and other crypto coin as much as they put their hopes in dollar. Many people still perceive bitcoin to be the nest of majority of illegal activities and therefore, it is tainted in the eyes of many. If majority of the population won't have trust on bitcoin, it is clear that it won't be a world currency. We can only hope and be optimistic about it, but I doubt we'll even get near to it. Not to smash your hope, but I'm just stating the truth here.

In addition, bitcoin transaction requires fees and processing time. If it were to be a world currency, how do you think the blockchain network would accommodate everyone all at the same time? This is one of the major problems regarding bitcoin. During its peak season, the traffic is very evident leading to delayed to cancelled transaction oftentimes.

Before we aspire in this kind of  level, let us assure first that there would only be minor inconveniences to the part of those who will also use it. Let's not push it without an organized plan laid down so that people won't be disappointed and feel that we failed them due to incompetent processing.
1990  Economy / Economics / Re: Difficulty in regularizing cryptocurrencies in current governments on: May 10, 2022, 10:22:00 AM
The trend of hacker attacks on cryptos and why many governments don't accept cryptos?

As far as I know, crypto is one of the secured space when it comes with store of value. It is more resilient in hacking compared to other apps, platforms, websites, and central organization system because hackers can't easily infiltrate it due to its encryption. However, most people fall victim into scams and schemes. This is mainly because of lack of awareness, being relaxed, and being careless and gullible at the same time, Several hackings that I have encountered were due to human error which cannot be undone and we cannot really blame the security of  crypto because of this since it is the owner's duty and responsibility to verify.

Regarding why the government don't want to accept crypto, this is typically because of the reason that they do not believe in it and they see it as a hindrance in making the traditional fiat system grow. In addition, some government do not really want their citizens to become financially independent and educated because they won't generate taxes and the citizens will be aloof with them. Hence, instead of wholly adopting it, they just regulate it in their own terms, which of course, in a way still beneficial to them.
1991  Other / Meta / Re: Advertising and shilling on Bitcointalk on: May 07, 2022, 03:33:41 PM
This post has been here for months but it's still relevant. Indeed, anyone promoting a gambling website or casino here are possibly paid for having an advertisement to encourage other forum members to join and try. With your experiment, you just proved that those gambling website or casino owners still have interest in bitcointalk to be their bridge to find potential clients. After all, a lot of members here are really into gambling.

It's good to see random checking such as this to know and verify whether if something could possibly happen or occuring already in the forum. This just make the claim of some that there are accounts existing here not really to share their first-hand experience of the site, but to advertise so that the casino will be more known and of course, to entice and scout players.

I'm not really surprised that there are casinos and gambling sites willing to discuss the set up and the pay for advertising and shilling because surely, they get more than what they will pay for once many members will give in from a shilled post. As you can see, feedback is one of the most important things a player look into when finding a good gambling site. If the poster paid could execute a smooth talk and scout players, it's a win for them and the casino they are working for. Fortunately, we can criticize the posts and its author to make some warnings to other members and to disprove if something is really wrong.
1992  Other / Meta / Re: Would you like to access Bitcointalk though a console? on: May 07, 2022, 12:01:53 PM
Personally speaking, I prefer the bitcointalk's interface and the way how you could post and quote. Accessing the forum in console would mean lesser graphics to look upon which could bring strain to the eye for some users who prefer to see variations. I'm not really fond of text-based, I'm more into the overall appeal of the website. If we're going to transition to console which is more on characters than visual appearance, visual members of forum would have a hard time adjusting.

Perhaps a mobile version of bitcointalk would be much better like other members are saying. It was a long time already we've been using this kind of interface which is built in with html way of posting and quoting. It would be nicer if there would be an app wherein we can access all the time. That way, we could easily open it without having to search the internet.

In addition, it would be more visually appealing to the eyes if we'll have an app that would cater a much more variation such as images and color that could be combined altogether for a better version of this forum.
1993  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top Crypto SportsBetting Sites For US Citizens Abroad? on: May 07, 2022, 08:06:41 AM
KYC on crypto casinos has always been a problematic thing. Many platforms claim they won't ask you for it, but if you win a big amount, they reserve the right to do it anyway according to their TOS. Whatever site you decide to use in the end, make sure you read their TOS fully and also take some time to talk with their customer support to explain that you are a US national who lives abroad.

According to a quick google search, here are a few names you can try. I am not recommending any of these platforms, you have to do your own due diligence and check their reputation before you decide if it's ok to trust them with your money.

BitcoinCasino.us
Cloudbet
mBit Casino
WildTornado
Bitcoin Penguin
Bitcoin Casino

Take a look at these sources for more info:
https://99bitcoins.com/best-bitcoin-casino/#CasinosavailableforUSplayers
https://coingambling.info/news/best-bitcoin-casinos-for-us-players/

I think Cloudbet is restricted in US, although I'm not quite certain if it is also prohibited from the US citizens abroad. If the restriction is only for the specific area, perhaps you could try it given that you are not currently inside the zones of restricted places. I think only few places are not allowed to access it. You can check it OP on the internet to verify.

To add, most casinos do not really ask for KYC the first time you're accessing it. Some of them do not really ask for it, but I think there are only a few left of this totally non-kyc casinos. Most of the time, casinos ask for KYC if you'll make a transaction particularly withdrawing to verify your identity and to secure that they are giving the right people the prizes. If you are very much particular with this, you can check the feedbacks of the players to know.
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: May 07, 2022, 07:01:17 AM
A match that would matter for Mark. A title defense that he might able to pass it to Rey. I'm not saying he'll lose but this is going to be a tough match for him.
Since Rey is taller, there's already the advantage for this match on him and well, if this is already on the contract being signed. Mark should plan well in defeating Rey and defending his title.

Agree. Magsayo should conduct a thorough training in order to be in par with Vargas. The former might have no losses yet, but if he will be complacent in this upcoming match, he could have his first loss to Vargas. Like what you mentioned, Vargas' built is much better than Magsayo which could be his losing end in this game given the Vargas is taller, he could aim at him at longer distance.

Magsayo should be prepared enough for this battle so that he could have a chance to win. Although surely he would do that because the fight is still far ahead. Hopefully, his team would focus on his weaknesses to be able to improve it. His footworks, speed, and precision must be taken into consideration knowing his opponent is also a challenging one. This match would be something to look forward to most especially for their fans.
1995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PH banned online cockfighting - Worst gambling-related cases recorded! on: May 07, 2022, 04:19:06 AM
PH President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the recommendation of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to stop e-sabong or online cockfighting operations.

Online E-Sabong (cockfighting) is a legit and regulated gambling industry here in the Philippines. So much hype that many people got hooked on it even those who are not really into that gambling since betting here is so easy and different from the actual betting in the live arena.

The government is supporting online cockfighting here because it's a big help to support the economy during and after the peak of the pandemic. According to statistics, the government is receiving around PHP 60,000,000 (around $1,149,700 USD) per month in a form of taxation and revenue.

But since the hype of online cockfighting here, there are lots of recorded negative effects of gambling up to this date. Some people sold their houses, cars, gadgets, and even a "kid". There are also cases of missing several people on which today, there's still no good progress and that was all related to these gambling.

This was all brought up to the President and even though he was supporting the online cockfighting industry here, he ask his constituents to conduct a survey on the effect of this on all people. The result is WORST that's why ASAP, the President ban right away the online cockfighting and disregard the revenue the government is getting.

Let's discuss: (applies to all gambling-type)

- Do you think that your respective government will do the same even though that gambling is a big contributor to the government's revenue? It's a big sacrifice but no choice since lots of people got wrecked here and there are still unsolved cases of missing people.

- Is it really valid that we should blame the online cockfighting here that's why most people wrecked their lives?

For me, it shouldn't be stopped but should be more regulated strictly. I know there's a thing that can balance this but I don't know the specific term of it. Because of these irresponsible gamblers, the government's revenue got affected which should be a big help now that our country is just slowly rising after years of dealing with the pandemic.

Online cockfighting should be prohibited by law because it promotes animal curelty. Animals are not meant for entertainment, to satisfy anyone's need of enjoyment, nor undergo in pain and excruciating death just for the sake of a bet. It's good to know that the government of the Philippines won't sacrifice the well-being of their people and the lives of the animal over the tax and revenue they generate from it.

Based on the articles and documentaries I've read, there are a lot of issues regarding this already which may have caused and pushed the government to such decision. During the peak of e-sabong, a lot of Filipinos were reported missing, tortured, and even found dead due to their debts. Many people sufferrd addiction too because e-sabong wasn't really well-regulated by the government officials in their locality. While it is the responsible of the citizens to establish their boundaries when it comes to gambling, it is also the government officials duty to regulate it so that people won't go overboard.
1996  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Liquidation Price when shorting on Binance Margin on: May 06, 2022, 03:16:26 PM
I've just placed my first ever short trade using the BTC/USDT pairing through Binance Margin (Isolated rather than Cross). I kept the amount very low for my first trade just in case I did anything wrong - but fortunately the trade seems to have gone through ok...

The Isolated trade on Binance allows me to borrow 10x the amount I have transferred into my Margin account. My question is, does the Liquidation Price (shown in the Positions tab) trigger when I have lost all of the money in my Margin account, or, can it access the money in my Spot account as well?

So my question is really... When making a short trade through Binance Margin, am I putting my Spot account at risk or just the money in my Margin account?

Only the amount of money in the margin is at risk, not your entire money in your spot account. The liquidation price is the price where you're going to lose your trade when it's trigger, it will automatically close your trade and you need to make another trade if you want to continue trading.

Isolated margin means you're limiting your balance to be blown out by liquidation while Cross margin is the exact opposite of it.
1997  Economy / Gambling / Re: crash game some new ideas on: May 06, 2022, 02:18:41 PM
Casinos are made as a business, to earn money, not to financially adjust their rules just to attract players that can't afford 1% house edge. No offense but, gambling platforms never force anyone to play on their sites, so I don't think it is possible to make their house edge zero unless they are willing to be bankrupt. That's why wealthy people are the only one who are mostly seen in online casinos even in physical casinos because they can afford to lose money without blaming the casino for their addiction or losing of money.
1998  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Using a Stop loss "Good" or "Bad" on: May 06, 2022, 01:08:12 PM
Yes, stop loss save from making losses but also prevent traders from making profit because it is not all trading that requires the use of stop loss. Therefore, I believe what every trading require is goals per each trade and if the goal of the trading is short it may require the use of stop-loss but if it's long there's no need to use stop losses.
Stop loss would be materialized losses once those things been triggered out which is something that need to be considered and this one would really be varying on what kind of trader are you.

Some do really make use of it when they are actively seeing price movements or simply being with the monitor and watching your trades on long period of time but if you are someone
who do come once in a while then you wont really be needing such tool because even if you do lose or floating negative you could still make some recoveries if the
market would make out some u-turn.
You understand what I am trying to point out when i said stop-loss could also be the reason why a trader makes a loss if not used properly and this is what I want the OP to understand because misinformation was the reason why some newbie investors see Bitcoin as quick to rich scheme whereas thats not how things work.

Stop loss is staying at the same zone.

Traders could always reentry a trade just in case they missed a chance to make profits because of the stop loss they made. Yes, I agree that using it right will never be the reason of losing profits in trades, but the trader instead. Stop loss is to prevent further losses, especially if you're just a newbie trader exploring how futures trading work.

I personally don't use it since all I do is scalping. I use it whenever I'm doing something while Trading, that way I could multitask.
1999  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can newbie become rich with trading on: May 06, 2022, 10:46:49 AM
Trading look like a hard to understand game and for any new person in trading making profits is always hard that is why am here to ask how can a newbie make profit trading coins and what manual can be followed.
This is a critical question that needs good explanation to answer it. It's just like asking if it's necessary to have money before building a house. To become rich in trading the trader needs to have known how the market works. I don't see any possibility here.
A newbie can not become rich in trading. They need to learn the necessary things that is required. Experience is necessary in trading so trading without good experience can lead to lose of fund and newbies can not achieve this with knowing how to trade very well.
well, generally, it needs to be studied more deeply to get big profit from trading. it's not an easy thing. anyone can get rich in trading, but if he really has insight into it.
In general, I see newbies who try to trade without any knowledge, it's the same as playing gambling, only with greater certainty of defeat. after all, anything can happen in the world of trading, but the chances are very slim for a newbie to get rich in a short time. even more so if he was only doing it because he saw other people gain so easily.
However, if you want to get rich at this, you need to learn continuously, use minimal capital, choose big assets, and keep learning when you fail. because a newbie can become a professional because of this.

Correct.

Most of the newbie traders are greedy, with a narrow mindset, which is to get rich in an instant, that's not gonna happen as fast as they think. Envy is the reason why they do it without any single knowledge about it, because they don't want to be left in the dirt by their friends who are already making fortune in Trading.

So my advice on newbie traders is don't force yourselves to be someone you're not. Be patient, trust your own timeline and don't be in a hurry. Time will be your guide, experience will make you someday a professional trader.
2000  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Advice for poor people who wanna get some crypto on: May 06, 2022, 03:51:59 AM
It's not going to make someone rich.
But it is going to make someone to have an extra source and the reality that we have said is about, there's uncertainty on it.
Getting rich from crypto trading or crypto investment is real, but only a few people can make it true. So, if we are still average people in crypto trading or investment, better to not expect for being rich instantly. Only professional crypto investment or crypto trading who have the opportunity to be rich, it also depends on their luck. So, for a common person, it is better to not dreaming being rich, just expect to have additional income.

Those cryptocurrency professional traders and investors was once a newbie also. We are all going to the ladder climbing up to another level as the time passes by, it's not a quick rich thing but if you trust the process, you'll eventually get there, on where you picture yourself after spending so much time studying cryptocurrency to make yourself rich. It's all about patient and a lot of money, it doesn't have to be a big amount of money to gain knowledge, sometimes you just need to be more extra careful when you know you can't afford to lose your funds easily.
