1521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this statiscally possible in a lottery? on: October 04, 2022, 12:49:52 PM
Yesterday, many people were surprised on the result of our lottery. The number that came out were are all divisible by nine. There are many speculations now that the lottery is rigged and the result was already fixed. It's just hard to believe that since they always do live draw to show transparency about the result. What do you think? Is this really possible in lottery?

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0xogg6pv17aDJe94MQCYAaNiUdDpxnQFczyrY4Gaaf91BMhmarBtnx8p8iXWMZd4sl&id=100069066345193 (I just cropped the image to focus on the 6/55 draw)

It's possible to win the lottery although the probability is really low most especially if the number of balls to be drawn is higher.

I've seen the news too and most people really feel that the result was rigged because there are numerous speculations about winning the lottery every time saying that the bettor who won also belongs to one of their staffs. We can't really blame the people to be doubtful if they witnessed unfair and corrupted upbringing in their environment. We can only educate them.

According to a statistician, it is indeed possible to have a winning numbers with multiple of 9 , and having many winners all at the same time, although the chance is really slim which corresponds to 1 in almost 29 million. Perhaps this is what the people are clamoring to be manipulated because of the almost close to impossible odds, but it could really happen. Unless the streamed draw is recorded, then that would be cheating. However, there is also no proof that the draw isn't live because they always do it live in accordance to the rule of transparency. I suppose the 433 people are just so lucky because the odds were on their favor during that day.
1522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: October 04, 2022, 12:12:09 PM
"Just one more game" is a phrase we often say and it makes us not realize that it is the beginning of our next defeat. One more game will make us even more curious, especially if the results are not what we expected and can make us come back the next day. Whatever result we get, if we still say that sentence, I don't think it will always work for us and maybe the result will be very different. Therefore, if we want to stop, we must be able to try to stop immediately and not say the sentence.
When a gambler spends more time in gambling from a certain time frame, gambling addiction is seen in him to some extent. And this kind of incident is seen frequently in almost all gamblers to a lesser or greater extent. However, spending a lot of time in gambling is not bring what you have expect. So ignoring all these things gambling can bring the big success.

Anything in "excess" always have a negative impact, it is every gambler's responsibility to handle the manner in which they played but I'm curious to ask, from your comment, what do you have to say when a player has more wins than the number of losses and the player decided to spend more of it is time than the expected time, will that be considered as addiction?
You know the nature of gamblers and greed is what drives our hormones, if the games are in their favour, they will likely play more than the time they set for them self but the wise ones will exit as soon as they hit 3 losses in a row but the addicted ones don't usually stop until they blow up what they have all won to the house.

Indeed, anything that is too much and beyond control is harmful. That's why they always say that always do things in moderation and responsibly. Because if you won't establish boundaries and limitations, you'll just end up hurting yourself in the process and it might lead into something serious that is more difficult to address such as being addicted to it.

Addiction is cannot be treated overnight and you might as well do your very best to avoid falling victim of it. For me, despite the percentage of winnings is greater than the losses, one must not go beyond his budget allocated for gambling especially if he already spend the amount intended for it and that is what he can only afford to lose. The phrase "one more game" is actually a deadly one because it could be continuous until you no longer notice you are being caught up playing. Just set a specific time frame for playing and a specific amount for your budget in gambling and do not ever think of going beyond it to ensure you'll keep your discipline intact.
1523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing and the casino business. on: October 04, 2022, 11:30:59 AM
The thing is, it's not easy to invest in these entities unless you have millions to use as a capital for investment. They'd probably focus more on the big fishes to keep on funding their platform rather than small timers like us to give them a steady stream of funding. While on paper, with these numbers included, it is a no-brainer to invest on these platforms, in practice (especially crypto gambling platforms) your investment can only last for a few months before it gets used up by the casino as a payout for their winners.

Investments in casinos are only noticeable if your share is a big percentage of the overall. That just means that to attain such felt interest and profit coming, you must also have a big amount at stake on them which may equal to hundreds or even millions especially if we are talking about a big casino which have built their name and reputation for the past years and is still being patronized by many.

It's also risky to invest in just whatever casino you know is operating now because in order to guarantee or at the very least maximize the potential of your money to grow, a casino must be well-known and used. Background checking is a must and hastily deciding shouldn't be an option. It would be a suicide mission if you'll just careless invest in something you don't know about. Their target surely are those who can invest millions, but they also accept those little investments. Just be reminded though that the moment things don't go well, they will prioritize first their biggest investors so still, be cautious in picking and deciding whether where to invest and how much you will risk.
1524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, tourism and legal gambling age for gamblers around the world. on: October 04, 2022, 10:59:29 AM
The only two localities I as a gambler would like to visit in a tourism trip are Las Vegas as the biggest one which I dream to go there and Maccau which I don't care that much even if I don't visit it one time in my life but Las Vegas is in my long term agenda to visit and why not to hit a multi million dollar jackpot there  Grin.

All other places mentioned here are not that impressive to me and do not offer the same treatment as Las Vegas offers.

I guess I was just lucky to visit those sites years ago, specially Vegas, it was really an eye opener for me. And I guess it is still a tourist destination for us. Macau is different though, if you are going to that place, then you are going to gamble, Lol.

Regarding the questions of age, if the law says that they are in legal age and if they won the lottery then, obviously the government will have to honor that and pay the player.

Las Vegas is really one of the most famous places that a gambler must visit, they say. It hosts many casinos that you can play with depending on your preference.  Las Vegas is famous for various resorts and casinos which offer premium services and games they can play in actual. I've seen many pictures and articles about Las Vegas gambling and casinos. If I'm not mistaken, most of the tax generated by Las Vegas comes from the casinos that operate.

Someday, I would love to visit it too if I'll have the chance and try some of the famous casino's house games. Because aside from the fact that gambling is fun, we can't deny that Las Vegas has a beautiful scenery as well especially during the night where neon lights signs are on. Personally, I find it pleasing to the eyes and it gives off a good and playful vibes. Indeed, gambling can be a source of flocks of tourists. Although it's important to have in mind as well to know the basics and rules before playing because you are just a tourist and you should be responsible to your actions. Ignorance doesn't excuse no one after all. It's always better to always be on your guard.
1525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: October 01, 2022, 03:09:43 PM

It's true that if you ask for advice, some people will give you bad advice and some people will give you good advice. It does not matter who gave the advice.  Because everyone has his own way of thinking according to which he can take all his actions and decisions . So one should always give preference to own decision

The moment you asked for an opinion, you should always be ready for the different suggestions from the people. There would really be various perspectives because each differs from one another. They experienced something that the others didn't and therefore they will have unique thoughts and viewpoint that could affect their judgment.

The advices you read here in forum and you hear in your everyday lives could be positive or negative. Now, it's just really up to you whether you follow those advices or just see through them and still decide on your own. After all, not every advices here are guaranteed to be correct and foolproof. You are still responsible of your own actions and for the consequences that come with it.
1526  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My thoughts and now my experience. on: October 01, 2022, 03:05:35 PM
Not every cryptocurrency that you can find in the market will give you profits, especially if you're doing spot trading and hodling, buy low sell high kind of strategy. That's why I agree that you need to make a research first before buying anything in the market. It's better to confidently hodl your coins in the long run because you know their potentials, unlike if you'll by random coins thinking it would go the moon in the future.
1527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: October 01, 2022, 01:12:42 PM
In gambling, there are really risks. You have to know them to avoid encountering and if ever you do encounter them, minimize their effect. I have a bad experience too in gambling. This one would be categorized in gambling more than what you can afford to lose. I happen to know that it is risky to invest and bet in something that you are not knowledgeable of, but I still risked the chance. Way back, I was one of those who are curious and explorative but not really strategic so instead of it becoming the success I'm dreaming of, it became a nightmare.

I risked into investing in NFT back then without really digging proper background of it. The hype it got was at its peak so I decided to give it a try. However, shit really happens from time to time and it slowly faded into background. Although it's still ongoing until now, I don't have the confidence that it will soar as high as before. Or even soar a little because of the short demand of it. But the good thing about it is I learned my lesson. It's just that I learned it the hard way. Since there's no point in crying over a spilled milk, I just licked it and started over again. You see, in every tragedy, we learn a lesson or two. And I think that's the most important part. Although if you can, do your best  to learn from others experiences and mistakes so you won't suffer the same hardship, unless you are a masochist.
1528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Borrow fiat with your Bitcoin and never sell on: October 01, 2022, 11:30:37 AM
Instead borrowing fiat from a bank, or a loan shark, with a high interest, why not just wait for the bull run and sell half of your Bitcoin in the next ATH and use that to invest in properties, I guess that's much better than lending because if the bearish season will be like the past one, it's gonna take some years before it gets bullish again.
1529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invitation to teach Bitcoin in a school on: October 01, 2022, 10:12:59 AM
Kudos OP.

The best time to teach them is when they are young, and you just did it. Young people are the curious once and introducing Bitcoin to them was the best idea. I hope you'll continue to guide them until they are earning Bitcoin to support their financial needs and their family as well. It's always nice to see people's life getting change because of thr revolutionary Bitcoin.

God bless you people.
1530  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education seems to have failed in some developing country on: September 30, 2022, 12:55:11 PM
Your good grades and academic achievements will only matter inside of your school, because mostly your job will requires another set of skills which you will learn while working. Also, your ideal job when you were studying will never be your first job but something you're not expecting because you don't have a choice. Other people chose not to be an employee because of low salary, however it requires high standards of employees, pretty ironic.
1531  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Want to Know That How Can I Use BitCoin to My Business? on: September 30, 2022, 10:53:42 AM
This is very complicated I think, especially it's an online business since Bitcoin transaction takes time before you receive it. But if you really want to apply it, I think using cold wallet is better since you're going to receive from different addresses. It's indeed profitable in the long run but I think customers will lose a lot since Bitcoin is very volatile and spending for example an $8 product plus transaction fee right now would be more like $16 when Bitcoin's price pumps again.

Anyways, this is just my own opinion.
1532  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [Alert] Risk of connecting a wallet to an unknown website. on: September 30, 2022, 07:39:06 AM
Whenever there's a "free" money on a certain faucet or whatsoever, always make a new wallet and use that to connect on them, that is the safest way if you're really hoping that you could get the "free" money without risking anything in return. You just have to outsmart them, simple as that. If you don't really know the site and it's smells fishy, just don't do KYC just to finally get your "free" money.
1533  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you use crypto trading robots? on: September 30, 2022, 07:04:03 AM
Pretty much a waste of money I guess. There's nothing special about them, because you could exactly what it does, even more to be honest. Trading bots are for those who doesn't have any time in trading, which is pretty ironic because you're supposed to spend your time on it to make sure you'll get enough experience and profit that'll benefit you in the long run.
1534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: September 29, 2022, 01:12:11 PM
I'm gonna invest 50% of my fiat on it, because going down up to $1,000 is a great opportunity to buy Bitcoin and hodl it until it goes back to $68,000 again, and that would be a quick profit maker anyone could have, than storing you fiat in a bank profiting  couple of pennies yearly. However, most of people will probably not invest because of FUD "Bitcoin is dead" and then buy at a very high price which is very illogical.
1535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating people on Bitcoin for free on: September 29, 2022, 08:39:36 AM
I was doing the same OP but I stopped. I've guided some people on how cryptocurrency works, especially Bitcoin, they were happy about it in the start after they knew how much profit they could make on it in the long run. However, the impatient ones blamed me because they were keep on insisting that Bitcoin is not going to pump again, way back 2018 when bear market hits, and they did panic selling, which they regret when Bitcoin pumps again.

Since then, I never guided anyone because I'm very disappointed on what happened. You guide them, teach them, and yet they would blame you when red candles appears. I don't like those kind of people. Hopefully that would never happen to you OP.
1536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 28, 2022, 03:44:08 AM
Most of you guys don't get it. Casinos either playing online or playing in person can anytime refuse to serve customers if they want. Of course, it would make a bad press for them to do that, refuse to serve people randomly and out of blue. So they had plenty of good reasons to give out when they want to ban someone from their establishment.

One of many of those is card counting or suspect of gaining an unfair advantage against casinos. Yup, sounds bullshit but by US laws, businesses (casino) can refuse to serve customers just like that if violates their rule. Sometimes, if you got too lucky, won big pot repeatedly, a casino can ban you from its establishment or even notify their casino alliance to put a ban altogether on you. 'Card counting' is just something they cited on the surface.

Card counting isn't really illegal. If you will do it by yourself and will not use other people or device to count card for you, then there's really nothing wrong about it. Although some casinos prohibit such because it stirs unwanted attention and causes some trouble which means they are breaking some house rules in physical casino, so technically, you'll get kicked out or banned in their property because of conduct and not really by counting cards.

But if we are talking about online casinos, perhaps you might want to read their terms of service first before trying to use a card counter because some online casinos prohibit it. If they happen to detect that you are violating their rules, then you might suffer some punishments such as withholding your funds, being suspended, and yes, being banned. So you better check first before using any software or external devices that they can detect. Otherwise, you'll suffer the consequences and inconvenience later on.
1537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 28, 2022, 02:50:07 AM

just saw this video published today by Cyrus Janssen.  although he isn't providing link to what he is actually talking about. I did some googling which i found these:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-03-29/alibaba-makes-metaverse-bet-in-china-s-magic-leap-rival
https://www.alibabacloud.com/solutions/metaverse

i didn't know how AR differs to VR. Alibaba will be creating the worlds shopping center where you can use the headset and just literally going to experience this metaverse.

In the future i think its not so far fetch after all to play and travel around the world while at home. the way its been described by Cyrus will actually work best for metaverse casinos than what Zuckerberg have in mind.  i think this is where we can chat on the poker table and make bluffs.

As far as I know, virtual reality, augmented reality, and metaverse are different things.

Virtual reality replaces completely the things you see in your surrounding using some sort of tool such as virtual glasses or vr box to show the newly set and readily made place or reality. Meanwhile, augmented reality just adds on the view you are seeing. AR adds some elements or objects on your line of sight and it is usually done with the usage of smartphone camera such as the game which trended before Pokemon Go.

Now, metaverse is a completely different thing. While it relates to virtual reality since it features a virtual realm as well, it differs in set up. Metaverse from the word itself is a multitude of universes. It is comprised of different virtual realities. It is interconnected and you can do many things inside it. It does not limit you from becoming entertained only, but you can do various things such as modifying the reality you are staying in and creating one too. You can enjoy while having the possibility of generating income too such as in planned metaverse casinos which is a plus for those who want to explore something new even they are just inside the comfort of their homes.

Metaverse is slowly being developed and I know for sure that many games and even for shopping or strolling purposes will come out of this idea. Given that there are already plans about making a meta shopping, it's possible it will be used for other things as well that will bring satisfaction and convenience to the users.
1538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 28, 2022, 02:17:34 AM
Twitch has placed a ban on offshore casinos but not on gambling. With this, it is obvious that this is not the last straw, the one that would break the camel's back. Twitch does not put a stop to gambling streaming. So it did not stop gamblers from continuously showing to their audience, young and old, their gambling experience live. So whether gambling is a responsible content or not, Twitch did not take a side. It has banned certain platforms but not gambling in general.

Few days after the issue about Sliker went out, many streamers expressed their disappointment of Twitch's policies regarding streaming gambling content because many streamers are bypassing the terms set already and the platform don't really make necessary actions about it. Hence, they started to make a noise to be noticed by Twitch stating that they will discontinue using the platform if they won't update their terms of service and ban other gambling content which the platform adhere in their request.

Twitch stated that they will ban streaming content about gambling related to unlicensed casinos in US for the greater good of many. Twitch also said that they will review and update their policy and the changes will take effect on 18th of October. They mentioned several casinos that has made big reputation already and said that they will name the others as they go along the process of making Twitch safer for the viewers and streamers. Hopefully, they will really strictly impose all their rules and policies to each and everyone because currently, they have many loopholes which they still don't attend to such as the all over referral codes and links about gambling sites that cater games which are supposedly prohibited, but it seems it is not because you can see it all over their platform.
1539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Casino Licenses on: September 28, 2022, 01:39:53 AM
Hello,

Is it possible and legal to open an online casino without a license?
I have heard that a license only allows to put users in confidence
What do you think about this?

Way back, license is just an option for the casino to get whether they feel the need of having one or not. However, due to many issues and concerns raised by the players such as being scammed or casino illegally holding their withdrawals, license became a necessity for a casino to legally operate. As far as I know, most countries now require gambling casinos to have a license, otherwise, they will be declared illegal and will be forced close by the government. Maybe there are still some countries who donn't require such, but they are probably so few since developed, developing, and underdeveloped countries are now particular as well with permits for a business to run.

License is also one of the many things that a player looks for in finding a suitable casino for them to play with. Because playing in a casino that has license will give them peace of mind and a form or assurance that they will not be scammed or left hanging. The ease of mind while playing and the moment you want to withdraw funds is what the players are looking for. Hence, most prioritizes to play in a casino that has one. If you opt to do not get license, your patrons will be limited to those do not really bother whether the casino has a license or not, because all want is just to play. But take note that players are smarter now so they prefer to be safe than sorry later on. Since without license, they will easily doubt and will be paranoid from time to time. Finding another casino that has one will be easier than to suffer from the consequences once the casino turns out to be a scam.
1540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Reputation on: September 28, 2022, 01:07:11 AM
Well, it varies to your surroundings and that's why if you just want to gamble at peace then don't tell it to anybody because that's much better to hear nothing and you're free to gamble as much as you can.

While on the other hand, if you've got a good set of friends and your relatives knew that you gamble and they see that you're not the compulsive type then that's much better then.

You only have to gamble moderately and you're going to be good to go without them judging you that you may end up badly.

'
Just gamble without needing to tell up someone and dont bother yourself that other people might criticize you or do say bad things about on what you are doing.
Its true that its your money which means you do have the full rights on what you should gonna do or spent up into your money. You cant just let those
people affect the way you are doing just because they do believe that gambling is a bad thing. This doesnt talk about your job or profession
because we are free on things that we do like to do as long we are responsible towards our actions.
True.

You don't have to be bothered by other people because you're gambling, and you don't have to bother yourself telling them what you're up to and what you do.

It's your personal life and they don't have to be attached to you and things that you do. You have all the right to gamble or do with the money you earn.

And sadly, there are people that attaches activities you do and connects it to your profession as if your reputation from your profession should be at stake because you gamble.

Maybe it is, if your profession is related to finances.

We really do not owe anyone an explanation of the things we do and want to do. It's our life and it should be none of their business. Although oftentimes, these people do not really know their boundaries and keep pestering around thinking we owe them a lengthy explanation of why we do things and how we do it. They will keep on bothering you and spreading gossip around, but all of that our already beyond of our control.

The thing we can control is how we will let their negativity affects us. We can either shove it away or be so hurt to the point that we'll end up sulking because of other people's opinion of us. It's our choice. It's just really saddening that gambling has a bad reputation and being linked to it will automatically means that you are doing a bad  thing already when in fact you aren't. If you know it to yourself that you are a responsible gambler, then go on with your gambling ways as long as you don't step on others in the process. If you know your profession will be affected the moment you gamble, then better not do it at all. Some profession and career path really prohibits gambling because of their nature of work and of course, to maintain their good reputation such as being a public servant and being an accountant or whatever profession/career related with public service and like you said, financial related work.
