If you look at football then you will see that they have different topics for different leagues. Like for EPL, CL, Serie A etc. Plus they have these pools in the separate thread. When we will have specific topics then it's more useful to discuss in dept. Everything in a topic most of the times miss important conversations.

This is the main thread for cricket discussion. We can get all the discussion here. On occasion like world cup, ipl, champion trophy, we can create a thread and discuss there.

Now that we have 3 threads, people will discuss the same in at least two of the threads. One in main thread, another in t20 or test (depends on format).
It will increase spam in the long run. Now, people can say locking this thread which I would not agree. It's an old thread which must be kept alive.

Would be happy to hear other people opinion.
My focus is to reduce spam.

Royse or you have no control on locking this thread (even if you wish to lock it). Regarding this thread, there is only issue of warning message, which i already discussed here but no vain. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5141475.msg51830411#msg51830411)
For me, i would like  one cricket thread so i do not have to click all the 4 topics on cricket every time.

Can we have some turn around in this test match as England are 174 runs ahead and 1 wicket left. If Ireland can bat well in second innings then they could win the first test against England and this would be the a great result for them and boost their confidence as beating England in England is never easy for a side like Ireland.

Ireland have a big chance to win their first ever test match and against one of the top test cricket teams in the world. It will be tough chasing anything over 180 runs which they must if they want to win. If England can get a 200+ run lead then it will make it extremely tough for Ireland but with a lot of time left in the match Ireland can take their time batting.

Well, we can always use the "Report to moderator" button if we find someone spamming or discussing the same topic on multiple threads. IMO, we can keep this thread for general discussion of cricket and use the remaining three threads to talk about the relevant format series in them. I don't see any issue in it TBH.

End of day 2 England leads with 181 runs and a wicket in hand. Broad and Stone seems to be strong, stone has faced ten balls without a single run. On the other side Broad stands at 21, maybe this partnership will add another 30 runs. This time England might have planned to attack through the bowling. I do agree with you, having everything clustered into one thread looks like a degenerated spam by the users who are not aware of cricket, after all it is just four threads and it is not a big deal to monitor these threads and there are not much users who discuss in cricket threads, so that we can have more clarity in our discussion if everything is not clustered together and that is my opinion.

Anyhow its an opportunity for Ireland to make its first win in test. Third day end will give the result of the match.

Last wicket is adding some runs on the board and longer they stay higher the chances of England winning the test match because we cannot expect Ireland to make 250 runs batting 4th innings of the test match.  Ireland have actually a god chance to beat the world champions but will they be able to do it.

I think that Ireland can actually win this one as long as Andrew Balbirnie, Stirling and O'Brien form great partnerships and hit good knocks out in the middle. The english bowlers will try to dismantle them quickly which is why the initial wickets will matter a lot here.

Broad and Curran are in sub-lime form and they are the bowlers that the Irish need to look out for.

Something unpredictable just happened in the cricket. A world champion few days back has got all out in the 1st inning within 1st session itself and that too from the Ireland who did not even qualify for the World Cup. Well this is something unexpected and what a game of cricket it has being from Ireland.

True but you must have to count the fact that both are two different formats of cricket. For ODI, their batting line-up definitely the best one at the moment but for a test match, I guess it's not enough. Anyway, 85 is an accident though. They will recover in the upcoming innings.

Match has always been so different in each inning you will have to give your best for wining. March prediction has always been difficult one. In this world cup all teams had preformed well. Now a day there are T20 matches all teams looks so active and concerned. I am sure in this match India and Newziland are good teams to perform.

England did not prove they are the rightful world champions by defeating a non test playing nation, England played one of the most pathetic matches just before the Ashes series and Ireland played an awful second innings as they could not hold into their wickets even for a few hours and England just used two bowlers to finish the game .

Well, England have rewritten then results of the match. End of the first day the winning percentage of England was high above 80%,abd by the second day end the winning percentage of Ireland increased reaching close to 35%. Further the same reached as high as 45% and the first innings performance gave more confidence of strong second innings but England players proved themselves to be the leader for cricket at this moment.

I assumed that England had won the world cup so they would be more confident with their batting and bowling, but the recent performance against Ireland have created lot of doubt in my mind and  i also think that Australia test side is more consistent than England.

After winning the world cup match most of the people will predict England will surely the Ashes series because of the strong batting line up. We should also consider test matches are completely different format compared to one day. So it is impossible to predict because in this format Ausis are very strong.

Ireland bowlers bowled exceptionally well in the first innings but in both the innings their batsmen let them down, though I’m hoping going ahead they’ll improve on their game. All credit goes to England team for coming back strongly in the game, they showed the hunger to win and in the end won the game comfortably. England is my favourite to win the Ashes because they’re playing on home ground which will be their advantage against Australia.
