I would like to know your opinion on which team will win the T20 match between Sunrise Hyderabad and Delhi Capital today. I will watch the game today as a supporter of Sunrise Hyderabad. I will always share the updated news of the match here for your opinion.

My guess is that DC will steamroll SRH today. T Natarajan has tested positive for COVID and Vijay Shankar and a few other players have been asked to go for quarantine. So even if the match goes ahead, SRH will be fielding a weakened side. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals will be fielding a full-strength side, with Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada featuring in the playing XI. Kane Williamson will be captaining SRH, but the issue for them is that David Warner is not in good touch.

Undoubtedly, corona was out of the team as some of them were positive. As a result, Sunrise Hyderabad took the field today with a weak team. Sunrise Hyderabad could not make a very convenient run today with some good players Delhi Capitals have to be defeated.

It was very much one sided match. Probably Sunrisers Hyderabad were under pressure as there bowler Thangarasu Natarajan became first Indian Premier League player to test positive ahead of the match. Only notable performance in SRH batting was of Abdul samad, chances are rear when you score 134 by playing first.
And yes play must go on as nobody care for the virus but for the money coming from IPL.

@Theones indeed this was a one sided match and it’s kinda ironic that BCCI is okay to allow a match to go through despite that covid case, but refused to play in England for the same reason, hence shouldn’t this match have been postponed or declared a draw?. Also with this victory DC are looking very strong, and who knows they may actually win the IPL this year?.

Someone here wrote and I quote him that "cricket is no more game of gentleman but money and politics". No cricket board or player can question BCCI decision as they are the sole controller of cricket affairs these days because of mighty IPL. ICC is now just a ceremonial authority whose purpose is to watch and see whats going on.

Also with this victory DC are looking very strong, and who knows they may actually win the IPL this year?.

Of course, they are on the top on points table with 7 wins. They are strong candidate to play the final and who knows they won that also.

Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings have the maximum chances, IMO. I was hoping for Mumbai Indians to win the trophy this time, but after watching their matches against CSK and KKR, now I am sure that it will not happen. The same goes for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They had a great start to this year's tournament, but now they look really pathetic. Actually the case with RCB is very strange. They have some of the best T20 players in their squad. But their performance doesn't justify that.

If i am placing a bet on the match prior to the match i would choose Delhi Capitals because they have a good bowling unit and they way in which they bowled in the last match was impressive and if their batsman can put a decent total on the board they have the bowlers to restrict any batting line up and that is how impressive they were in the last match. So my bet would be Delhi capitals.

It is disappointing, because they were one of the few teams to field a 100% native side. Right now Oman and USA are leading the points table, with Scotland, Namibia and Nepal behind them.

Scotland are already going to get a very good match as Papua New Guinea finally put up a huge collection of 233 runs for 8 wickets in a match full of fierce competition. Update news of Thauk match Will be highlighted regularly.

They just give temporary contracts to domestic players from Pakistan and India and bring them to Oman with work visa to qualify for the 6-month residency requirement. But it has worked well for them, as they are on top of the points table. Other gulf nations also do the same. But in case of UAE and Kuwait, they used to have 1-2 Arab players in their playing XI earlier (Sultan Mohammed Zarawani and Fahad Al Hashemi are examples).

The ICC changed its rules sometime in 2005 or 2006. Previously only citizens were able to represent a country (as the case with all other sports, including football, volleyball, hockey.etc). And no. These players don't become permanent residents of Oman. They are usually given 3-year contracts, and if the contracts are not renewed, then they go back to their home countries. It is just like IPL franchises recruiting overseas players. A few of the players are sourced from expats already residing and working in Oman, but the vast majority (~80%) are recruited from overseas.

ICC is just happy with this since now he has some more teams in his list and getting some more funds. I don't see any role of ICC in regulating cricketing affairs worldwide.

Canada do have some citizens playing for them, in addition to the expats. John Davison (the hero of the Canada team in the 2003 world cup) was born in Canada and had Canadian citizenship at the time when he participated in the 2003 and 2007 world cups. But the irony is that John Davison becomes ineligible to play for Canada as per the revised criteria by the ICC. The new requirement states that a player needs to reside in the country for 6 months. Davison (although a Canadian citizen) resides in Australia and therefore he becomes ineligible to represent his country. On the other hand, non-citizens who are on work visa are now eligible to represent Canada. These rules just doesn't make any sense. They allow foreigners to represent a country, and at the same time prohibit natives from doing so.

Excellent win for india today in match against afganistan , Finally they got their first win in this world cup, yes it seems a bit late because 99% chances are there that they still wont qualify for the semi finals. If this intent they have shown in the games before the results would have been different but that has gone, lets see if afganistan can beat new zealand now.
