Turn the voltage a bit more clockwise And type "valid" in the search box top right in this thread, there's a few posts Hmm no luck . Is it normal to have to adjust the voltage screw to get it working at all? I have a voltmeter at home and should be able to test further tonight. Thanks for your help.

it's been covered recently, but remember they're home made with care and they linked to be tinkered with Try another port/computer just in case And make sure USB power saving is disabled

Also did you try running cgminer as administrator? There was mention of zagdig missing a .dll or something, so may be some thing to look at.

It was set at 0.7V. I had the same error message on this PC. It looks like it did hash very briefly, but received an error before it could complete. I tried changing the voltage in a few increments down to 0.55V and then back up to 0.8V, but had the same result regardless. I've set it back to 0.7v for now. Here is a photo of what i'm getting.. http://imgur.com/agqC9qfI have tried unplugging and plugging back in multiple times, different ports, also tried uninstalling entirely from the system and then reinstalling with Zadig. No change.

Well it should run fine at 150Mhs, but verify the Vcore.
Check the 1st post for "how-to"
Also try cgminer --benchmark
Thanks, I don't have a multimeter here but I can try and get one. I took a photo of the vcore adjustment screw. According to the diagram I am thinking it is around 0.6-0.65V. http://imgur.com/54k7zoH. I ran cgminer with the benchmark flag, but am not getting anything new. It seems like it is trying to run it at 125mhz by default in the benchmark. First of all it had an issue restarting the device - http://imgur.com/VXDFFjAThen it just cycles through the COMPAC numbers in order, retrying constantly - http://imgur.com/h5cUcQTAnything else I could try without a voltmeter? Also, your R47 chip has kind of a "melted" appearance.

Also i know what you mean about the R47 chip...it looks worse in that photo I have to say, but perhaps it is defective. Anyone have luck with returning to bit coin ware?

These 'beasties" are pretty resistant to damage. My best half switched off the fan (not arctic) for a couple of sticks which were at 325mhz, so they overheated themselves to a stop. Next morning, i simply replugged them with the fan "on" and they started hashing as if nothing happened.

I would try adding .. in the cgminer commands, see if that allows it to start hashing, the 512 may be to much for the stick to work on within the 10 seconds

I have also tried it in a powered USB hub, without any other devices plugged in. It has 3.5A available, which should be plenty. Any other ideas?

Try a PC running a Linux build (no messing around with zadig or usb drivers).... or a Raspberry Pi with Raspbian (a Linux build)...or Remove zadig driver and try bfgminer 5.4.1

Going to try the BFGminer option, as I do not have access to a Raspberry Pi. I'll let you know how it goes.

So I didn't have any luck with BFGminer. It would not detect the stick. I tried with the default windows drivers, and also again with the zadig drivers, just to be sure. I also tried adding the device manually (it was mapping as COM16 port). Not sure if there are any special flags I need to detect the Gekko USB stick? It shows as supported on their newest version release notes. Gave cgminer another try and got a different result this time, though. Here is a screenshot - http://imgur.com/G5Lo0HIIt appears like it is only generating errors, but is at least trying to hash now. I was using the flag --suggest-diff 25

I was using the flag --suggest-diff 25 did you try another address (not Burger) or at least, did you change it to have your unique worker name? It won't work if you use just Burger address. It seems that you are very close to make it work.
