I knew about Bitcoin since 2011 and started getting really involved in late 2013.

I was convinced that I was a late adopter. Even though the mood in the forums was mostly optimistic in 2014, I felt sad knowing that I knew about Bitcoin back when it was in the single digits and didn't act on it.

I forgot about Bitcoin in 2015 as college studies got in the way. But those coins... I still kept them. I also had quite a few in alts too which I never sold.

Now I'm selling 2/3rds of my entire stash and will be buying a house (fully paid, no mortgage) thanks to Bitcoin.

And of course, I will be putting the money that would otherwise go into rent payments back into Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

Because Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are the future of money. It is truly a technology that will span generations.

Thank you Bitcoin. Smiley

Well, but the current decision mode is not appropriate either to save long term growth of Bitcoin. I think it is common sense that Bitcoin needs some improvements urgently in order to handle more transactions and scaling with the increasing popularity. At the current state, it is not ready for mainstream adoption.

$1300 !  yahhhhhhh.

We will be the new wealthy elite (maybe)
As long as the Core team is the most used software, we will be the new wealthy elite because their solid software and conservative approach guarantees the whole thing does not blow up.

With Buggy Unlimited and other nonsense, you can forget about long term wealthy elite dreams.

Thus far, common sense reigns, so lets keep going to the moon and beyond.

Seems a bit crazy to sell such a large portion of one's stash - unless you have a large amount of confidence of a price drop, and we seem to be in an ongoing bull market...

But, yeah, I can see relieving one self of some decent portion of BTC stash, especially after such a considerable run up.

Buying a house was a good decision. No matter if bitcoin continues to up and up who knows where, a house is essential and I would have done the same.

Right now the bitcoin chart looks like a "mother of all bubbles". It needs a correction.

Wow, awesome to hear that. Everyone always thinks that they are late to enter Bitcoin, but we still don't know what the future holds. Even though the price seems high now, we could potentially still be in the early phases as Bitcoin still hasn't really entered mainstream yet.

I still regret not getting in as early as I could have but I am glad I got involved when I did because I definitely see Bitcoin becoming more and more useful as time progresses. I just hope we can resolve issues such as confirmation times and high fees to prevent alternative solutions from replacing Bitcoin.

This is a great journey and result for you and I wish to congratulate you. We are currently renting with my Wife and she always tells me that one day Bitcoin will help us live a sustainable lifestyle and rent free and she is working very hard towards this goal. I am trying to help her dream to come true in my humble way as her dream has become mine also.

I don't know about being gentleman or elite but we can accept with complete dignity that we are technology superiors. In the era when everything is turing high-tech, why not the most important aspect of human life ie. money. Bitcoin has provided new grounds to the definition of money and early adaptors have made the well-deserving profits till now which gonna multiply more in coming years!!

I agree. Bought some when was 1200 high a few years ago...then suffered the uncertainty/pain of when it later crashed down below 200...but HODLERS so far ultimately win...so good time to buy is now, whatever happens

Well, just look back at the price exactly one year ago. He who bought at around $436 back then would have his capital now x4,2
Imagine those who bought $10K, nevermind those who bought $100k...much much wealthier

that is true but it is always best to not invest after a pump and the first $1200 was obviously a fake rise and a big bubble. the bottom was $300 and it took a long time and price even went lower than that to $200.

i am afraid this time it may be a tiny bit similar situation. $1800-$1900 is a mini bubble. and it may pop and price can go down to $1500 again.

nothing to see here...

http://astrohacker.com/ahc/bitcoin-is-the-economic-singularity/

After reading this, the scale of black market and digital economies and the effect Bitcoin will have on them I am pretty certain we are going to be very wealthy men -- even with a sum as small as 10 Bitcoins. It's just so hard to believe. We are only in the beginning storms with these significant rallies from 10 to 20 dollars. I will not be surprised to see prices from hundreds to thousands in the coming months.

The world just isn't going to be the same and we have been blessed as the pioneers.

What are you going to do with your Bitcoin wealth once your coins hit upwards of $10,000 a pop?

The very first thread of this discussion forum was posted 6 years ago... Today, with the BTC soaring above 1'800+ and still more great stuff to come, the title of this thread, referring to "the new wealthy elite", couldn't be more true, gentlemen.

Wow! It is interesting to see people who really had high hopes for bitcoin since 2011 and I'm sure they areally reaping the benefits now. Who would have known in 2011 till date, bitcoin would be as high in value as this. Kudos to you guys and op, I really wish I had your kind of spirit back then.

I couldn't think of a better place to post this and I think it's fitting here. I just sold my stash of 6 years at $2,200. I just couldn't stand to wait any longer and I'm not greedy. Bitcoin definitely made me rich (not really rich elite but rich enough for me). Everything I own is paid off (houses, cars, Horizon 350 Four Winns boat - everything). I have everything I want and more. Hookers and beer for the rest of my life.

I hope bitcoin goes to a million dollars each and all of you get everything you want. I won't be disappointed if it does (because I kept a couple for a rainy day  Wink ). I'll still be around here to make fun of you when required (maybe not as much as before though). Good luck to you all and don't forget that it's not illegal to sell your coins.
