You're still young though, as I'm already working that time, and I did watch some clips of the highlights in the internet that time. I was fairly young with this internet thingy, but someone show me where to see it so I will try to look at it whenever the boss is not looking. Then going home smiling having watch the game and can't wait to tell my buddies about my experience. I will watch the last 2 episodes later and I'm sure it will bring back memories as well.
Haha, it's been a  while since someone called me young as I am almost 40 yo, it feels good Cheesy . But yeah, there was alot of hype back then, we all  heard the rumors that it might be their last season together, so no one wanted to miss any game.

In 10 - 20 years than might double the price or maybe more. As long as the authenticity is safe then he will have no problem at all.
Unless some scandal happens, price will most certainly  go up. Sports memorabilia is usually good investment, and due inflation by keeping cash all you do is loose money, and in let's say 20 years, it will add up to decent amount.

I tried to not read the last part of your posts Rika.
My instincts tell me that it will be another spoiler from the first line of it.  Grin
No worries, there are no spoilers there, just an anecdote from 1998.

Scandal means, Jordan dying with unnatural cause?  Grin Knock on wood.
I still think it will. That is something that tells history of basketball.
Someone out there would want that someday, maybe to donate in a museum if he is too damn rich.

Oh thank God!
It's because of this which is why I didn't continue reading.  Grin
I just finished watching last 2 episodes of the documentary,

You're lucky to watch it live. I didn't.  Cry
During that Finals series, we had to go on high school trip and stay at some crappy bungalows for 4 days, and that would mean missing out on 2 games. 6-7 of us that were really into NBA wanted to cancel the trip, but since it was already paid, parents forced us to go.  So in order to watch those games ( I think game 2 and game 3), one friend brought with him small portable 10" TV that he took from his grandpa. Improvise, adapt and overcome!

Watched the last episodes of The last dance and I think this was the best basketball documentary that was ever made, not that there are tons of them out there in the wild right now, but it is definitely the best of them. It was also amazing for Netflix to have some sort of deal as well that we had it on netflix after it was aired in USA as well since we are outside of USA and would have made it very terrible to wait for it to legally exist, so we would have to download torrents and all.

One thing that bothered me a lot was lack of Kukoc, that dude played amazingly and very efficiently during the Jazz games yet there was a ton of Steve Kerr talk, even Kerr's early childhood when Kerr had 11 points on that game while Kukoc played with 11/13 for 30 points that game scoring more than even Jordan when he got nothing.

It is worth to watch it even now, all games are available on YouTube, albeit in poor quality. I started watching those games again, today I watched the 1st one, and plan is to watch one each day. It was incredibly close series  as all games (except game 2 that was completely crazy ) ended up within 5 points difference. I forgot how good Utah was, they were as good as Bulls (only team that Bulls didn't beat in the regular season) and series could have gone either way. It is a shame that they never won a title.

Yep, that bothered me as well that documentary was more focused on hype than on being objective and giving some players deserved credit, especially Kukoc. In those Finals series  against Utah he was almost as important to Bulls as Pippen was, yet they barely mentioned him. Steve Kerr was almost irrelevant there, scoring 3.8 pts on average in those games, but he is now very popular as GSW coach, so creators decided to capitalize that and get extra attention. It is a very good basketball documentary but just for that i simply can't call it the best, Hoop Dreams (1994) still holds that title.

Piece of trivia that was confirmed by Phil: in that game 5, when Kukoc was top scorer with 30 pts, and Jazz leading 83:81, Phil wanted for Kukoc to take that last shot as he knew that Jazz wil focus their defense on MJ. They made play for him, but ball ended up with Jordan and he tried that contested shot, that wasn't even close.

The Last Dance is a great sports documentary explained by its own protagonist. It is the most great thing that I can admire. Michael Jordan brings emotions to life in every scene, is the magic of reliving the best plays of the great basketball legend. The best in spectacle that we are celebrating in this time of crisis of the year 2020.

I can't believe such sneakers will value that high, oh my God $560,000 just for a sneakers, I would not even but it at $1000,, seriously... my shoes is just around $100 and less, but I understand it's MJ but I just can't believe people are willing to spend that much.

Hardcore sports collectors are all rich.

The amount is nothing once they get the item. It's either a success or achievement or business in the future

In 10-30 years, as long as the condition is maintained, or MJ meets the other life (no offense meant), that shoes might be put again in auction for future collectors.

Do not think of it like it is a sneaker, you are not buying it to wear or something, you are not paying for the "shoe", it doesn't have to be shoe at all, there has been nba champions who literally sold their rings for either personal or charity reasons as well, you think people bought them to wear those rings? This is basically just a collectible that will worth a lot in the future. Michael Jordan will always be Jordan, even 50 years from now he will be Jordan. So the more time passes the more money it will worth. Of course seller made the optimum amount of profit right now when Last Dance was airing, but that doesn't mean buyer won't make money, maybe for few years now it may not worth this much, but in 10 years it will probably go for 1 million anyway due to inflation as well as scarcity. So both parties won in this.

I wonder what would be the value of that shoes after 30 years if its properly maintained, lol... that should increase but I hope the owner will not anymore sell it, keeping if its really an achievement then the buyer should just keep the shoes himself and stop thinking of selling it again since money is not anymore a problem.

There's a thing called "collectors agreement". Not because of the money but sometimes, they can't pass it to some family or friends that don't have an idea of how to maintain an important collection. Whatever those shoes made of, it will fade in 30 years if not taken care of properly.

Once the collector got old and if they really care for the item, they will look to others that have the ability to take care of it.

You are correct. Items sold in any auction or collector's item shouldn't be compared to normal things.

Is it Laimbeer or Salley who said it. There is like a blueprint which had already been created by NBA management.
Bird, Magic and then Jordan.
They want to stop that. It gives them more will to take the Bulls down.  Grin

If you look at it deeply, it looks like a series in Netflix with drama, comedy and action.  Grin

Man, there are still a lot of things that the sports collection cost more than that. For us, that's a huge amount, but for the rich people, I guess spending money from unnecessary things is their hobby lol Cheesy.
Even the towel that MJ used on his last game in Chicago maybe cost around thousands of dollars.
And it's really crazy coz they ain't wearin it, It will just be hanged on the wall for display.

That's how crazy this world is, a lot of stuff going on especially for the rich that the poor ones might not able to understand, thing is, the poor people are just focus on their needs while the rich don't have a problem wit that, they are just busy spending their money. And also, you like to earn a lot of money because you want to to buy everything you like to satisfy yourself, and that includes buying stuff like that, well, it's your money, you can spend how you like it to be spent.

"The sanctity of the locker room."

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/horace-grant-accuses-michael-jordan-of-lying-in-last-dance-calls-ex-bulls-teammate-a-damn-snitch/

So who is telling the truth. Jordan or Horace Grant?
The Last Dance episode 3 or 4?
The triangle offense. You could see how Jordan reacted into why they will give opportunity to other players to be an offensive type.
He was even forced by Phil to pass the ball to Paxson which he didn't agree at the start and being hard-headed about it.

Shows how dark MJ could be if he feels his position is being taken away.
I remember Steve Kerr also having a bad experience with MJ.
Quote
"It's not something I'm proud of," Kerr said of the incident. "It is something that happens from time to time on most teams during the season. Guys get into it during practice. It's just part of high-level competition. But it's very, very strange to know everybody's hearing this story and talking about it and then I'm going to be on camera talking about it. Michael is. And people are going to be examining this whole thing.

Hard to say really, and it is impossible to be 100% sure. But the way Horace Grant celebrated that win against Bulls might give the clue how pissed of he was at Bulls and especially MJ, who was a bully. That's how it goes with perfectionists, if you are not at their level and giving your maximum, you won't end up good. Im glad though that at least he feels bad for punching Kerr, as he said "the smallest guy on the team". That competitiveness and perfectionism are exactly the reasons why he is the GOAT.

Not only Horace Grant called out MJ, the owner, Jerry Reinsdorf also  said that he is talking nonsense about him wanting to stay in Bulls for one more year, and that all the others would stay too. Including Pippen. I don't know, but I have a feeling that this whole documentary was made in order to  fit MJ narrative how things happened.

Quote
“I asked (coach) Phil (Jackson) to come back. Phil said no. Michael said I won’t play for anybody other than Phil,” Reinsdorf said, reiterating facts that were reported 22 years ago. “I met with Michael on the 3rd of July of that year and I said to him, ‘We’re in a lockout. Who knows when we’re going to play? Why don’t you wait until the lockout is over and maybe I can talk Phil into coming back?’ And he agreed.
“When the lockout was over, I still couldn’t talk Phil into coming back. And the big thing is Michael had cut his finger with a cigar cutter, and he couldn’t have played. So what’s all this talk about bringing everybody back when Michael couldn’t have come back?”

I have that same thought.
But let's face it, some of it were true.
Maybe we could just believe what was caught in the film and not those which is not.

When he tells bad about someone it could be a lie.
Could also be the reason why he was preventing the film to be broadcast because a lot of question will come out.

And as I stated, if M.J. had a grudge with me, let's settle it like men. Let's talk about it, or we can settle it another way.
This Horace response keeps running on my mind. Got it from the link you give, man.

I was wondering where this settling stuff Horace talking about would lead on? Or maybe, would their personal resentments be left, and be buried underground again?
I was thinking of some old way stuff where two guys had to settle their arguments with a use of gun, who fires first wins lol. Absurd thoughts, my apologies  Tongue.  It won't happen with today's environment but it would be interesting to know if they would consider it. Or maybe.. a fight would do? But they are kinda old to do that.

The documentary won't be released without MJ's approval. So they have to be careful on which supposed to be show and which should be not. Either way, everybody has his own unpleasant side, it might be MJ doesn't want the whole world turn against him. Well anyway, he's still great after all so it won't be happening.

I love the assumptions, keep it going guys. I enjoy reading  Cheesy.

But let's face it, some of it were true.
Maybe we could just believe what was caught in the film and not those which is not.
Truth is often  somewhere in the middle, it all depends on the point of view. One thing Jerry Krause did 100% wrong is when he told Phil that he can have 82-0 score this season (1997/1998 season), and he would still be gone next season, that could have been the last straw.
All this time I thought that Bulls would win few more titles if they continued, but few days ago part of unfinished book made by Krause (he died before he managed to finish it) was released, as an answer to all that bashing in documentary, and it sheds a new light tho whole that situation that was far from simple, as many players were free agents and could get way more money somewhere else. It is an interesting read, with many interesting questions. Here is the article.

I do not understand all these bad talks that came after The Last Dance, first of all that documentary was about the Bulls, not just Jordan and I agree that it was mostly Jordan but that is obvious since he was the best player on that team and probably the best player ever (at least according to many).

It means it makes sense that there was a lot of Jordan but you should also realize that it talked about basically everyone who mattered. Now after all of this is said and done, after like over two decades has passed, people talk bad stuff about Jordan against his teammates, Jordan acting bad off-court, Jordan's fathers bad deeds. I am sorry but none of that makes sense in this context.

Were you expecting the documentary to just say "Jordan was an asshole time to time" or something ? They already talked about how Jordan punched Kerr, its obvious dude wasn't nice to everyone, but they got 6 rings and that has to count for something right?

interesting questions. Here is the article.

I haven't read that.
I might later, when I am in the reading mood.  Grin

It's the comparison of behavior that makes it look bad.
When Jordan was playing baseball they got Pippen which had been a good leader to them.
He is the kind of person that will push you to be a better player in his own good way.
It's different with Jordan before and after he came back, and he admitted it.
He want everyone to play just like him to make them win every game and we all saw the fruits of it.

Last part of episode 7.
Jordan: "If you don't want to play that way, don't play that way. Break."
With a teary eye.

It's just that, his way of pushing his team mates is different. Most of the times he is crossing the line.
Although, some of the player do understand him. As said, "You don't want to be like Mike."
