Mark the date. For sure 2-4 months and were about to witness the NBA again. That's too long, but I can wait, lol. Without NBA, my TV is almost useless since all the stuff I need is already in my laptop, so for my TV to come alive, we need the NBA to be back soon. How about next month? can we expect it will resume?

This will be a big decision for the NBA management. Consider everything as much as possible. Fairness is a must, ask the teams if they agree with the new plan.
I somehow doubt that 100 % consensus is possible. Maybe only if option is to finish regular season part in full capacity, but question is whether that is something that could happen at this point, without severely affecting draft and the next season. It is always interesting see what Adrian Wojnarowski has to say about, as he has very good sources and usually knows what is going on behind the curtains On Thursday's call, the league was vague in detailing several resumption scenarios still under consideration, including a modified 30-team regular-season schedule directly to the playoffs, pool-play rounds of a play-in tournament and play-in models with fewer than 30, but more than 16 teams, sources said. Several members of the league's board of governors believe that the NBA's preference isn't to bring every team to resume the season, but that remains undecided. First, the fewer teams, the fewer people at risk to spread or contract COVID-19. Also, with little chance to play more than five to seven regular season games, a month of preparation seems like an excessive investment for teams at the bottom of the standings. SourceSo NBA management is seriously considering cutting some teams off, and continuing season just with those teams that have realistic shot at the playoff, something that I though that they are not capable. Desperate times calls for desperate measures, hard decisions will have to be made in order to finish NBA season. It's like a removing a band aid, the faster they do it, sooner is over and with less pain. Does anyone know situation in other US professional sports?

How about next month? can we expect it will resume? Spencer Dinwiddie leaked something in the twitter about the resume date of the NBA. Around 2nd or 3rd week of the July he said, but the tweet has became trends and he deleted it ASAP. My guess would be July... as I think June is just the month of training camps so each teams can prepare and well ready before the resume.

I'd rather see a no post-season 2019-20 activity or delay the 2020-21 season rather than end the current season now and head to playoffs.
It's good to see if they resume the game again and think about the next season after it. because this season is so far the best of all season since the lakers era in 2009-2010. every team is with their star players doing their best and the race for the playoffs is intense especially in the eastern conference. this is a big loss for the NBA association if they let this season go without a champion. I can't imagine what kind of NBA season is not finish.

They are into it, it's time for them to make money again, playoffs will certainly attract a lot of viewers and that will increase their income when they sell these live streaming, and maybe sportsbook would be able to help them also as the sportsbook will also benefit when the NBA will resume, but it will not be done publicly I guess as it could create some controversy as those who think about conspiracy in the NBA might have something to use as an evidence. sorry, my investigative mind is at work again,

Or, if they will just hurt their feelings then just do it hardcore. Head to the Finals with Lakers and Bucks. What in the... this would surely cause a disaster in the league, man . It seems like Detroit Pistons motto on giving up a foul do not give a cheap foul. Well, it's just an opinion. A bad one. Looks to me like all the news is a bad option that's why I came up with that one. But truthfully, I want the best option, should also be a fair one. According to JJ Redick they talked about it on podcast of "the ringer" that those top 6 teams are good and safe to play at playoffs. However, the 7th and 8th seeds would be still contested by those top 7 to 12 teams. And top 13-15 teams woule be out of the season.
Source: JJ Redick (just a rumor that he heard).
I would love to hear that if ever they record such things. Do they?

He might be talking about this podcast episode which was uploaded in The Ringer's Youtube Scenario, they started talking about it around the 1:04 marked of the video. But even if it is JJ Redick talking about a possible format he directly said that it was just a "scenario" and there are no direct answers that this would actually happen, remember Redick is just a basketball player here and the plans for a possible format will always go above from the management and the stories/rumors might have changed when JJ has heard it from someone, so I wouldn't bet that this thing would actually happen.

JJ Redick has a great voice for broadcasting. Holy shit! He does sound good. I am just 5 seconds from that 4 minutes video and I am shocked. My freaking speakers are cheap and yet his voice is full and you can understand it clearly. He could make some money with NBC, ABC, or even ESPN as an anchor or why go far, as a commentator of NBA.
So, the theory is, 6 top seeds per conference will be locked and 7th-12th seeds will have a royal rumble for the 7th and 8th spots. That is hilarious. It might be fun though. 13th-15th seed can train more since they are weak. That is how it looked like to me.

That's exactly what I think after I've watched the video. A great speaker, indeed.

The lack of information about what is going on is killing me. There must be some sort of ways that Adam Silver works on this constantly, why don't we hear anything about it. At least tell us if they are really working on getting it back or they are considering cancelling it.
I do not think cancelling the regular season would be weird, I have said before even some players could be happy because they rather not play and stay home during this pandemic, the ones that are playing are risking themselves but they are doing it to win a ring so it is not really that weird. Plus if they ever want to come back and play, they need to start talking about it, or give a date already just because players needs to start practicing again, if they do not give a date and just suddenly say "we are starting next week" it won't be enough time to train for players.

There is nothing official, that's true, but league is considering various scenarios. I shared Wojnarovski article yesterday where mentions some of those ideas that league management is tossing around, tou might have missed it. Here is the link https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29211219/teams-asking-nba-report-directly-campus-sitesThis quote at the end of the text is most interesting, albeit only rumor for now he NBA is discussing a step-by-step plan for a resumption of the 2019-2020 season that includes an initial two-week recall of players into team marketplaces for a period of quarantine, one to two weeks of individual workouts at team facilities and a two-to-three week formal training camp, sources told ESPN. Barring an unforeseen turn of events, many NBA owners, executives and NBPA elders believe commissioner Adam Silver will green light the return to play in June -- with games expected to resume sometime before the end of July, sources said. I do not think cancelling the regular season would be weird, I have said before even some players could be happy because they rather not play and stay home during this pandemic, the ones that are playing are risking themselves but they are doing it to win a ring so it is not really that weird.
I've said it before - if Bundesliga and some other European football leagues are able to continue, then NBA is too, and I think they will. The only question that remains is in which format will they continue.

At least tell us if they are really working on getting it back or they are considering cancelling it. Just relax there. NBA is working hard for it. If you were just able to follow some of the proposed plans since the league halts all the remaining games, somehow you can draw a picture of what will happen. An announcement about the guidelines will surely be made formally. If I'm not mistaken on June 1. One thing is quite sure now, they will resume the season this year.
I do not think cancelling the regular season would be weird, I have said before even some players could be happy because they rather not play and stay home during this pandemic, ..
Majority of the players wants to come back and play. Check the news.

Of course, there's already talks about it. Some teams resume their practice. Other players doing their daily workout while at home. That's not a big deal if there's no official announcement made yet. NBA players didn't rest for a year. They will surely in shape once the league comes back.

Just today Damian Lillard has made a statement about how he will stay at the bench and not play if they do not have a path to playoffs. So I do not think every player wants to come back. plus you are thinking about the stars and yes majority of the stars wants to come back and play, you are also thinking teams that has something to play for that wants to come back and play as well.
However how about the players who never gets minutes anyway? The 10th man on the roster? The bench warmers, the second units? They probably do not want to risk going out of home just to sit at the bench for others to play. Also what about teams who are tanking? Basically at the bottom of the league? What about them? You think they want to come back and play just so they could lose more games?
I agree that regular season should be cancelled, would make life easier for majority of the players. Only about 100 would stay and play and that already saves so many lives and removes a lot of risk.

I didn't mention "every player", I said "majority". I believed not just the stars. I got the point of Damian Lillard but that won't represent the other players' desire in general.
However how about the players who never gets minutes anyway? The 10th man on the roster? The bench warmers, the second units? They probably do not want to risk going out of home just to sit at the bench for others to play. Also what about teams who are tanking? Basically at the bottom of the league? What about them? Give me a source link that these players who are bench warmers don't want to play so we can have a healthy exchange of conversations. My answer will be speculation if I will forced to respond on that.

That's why we need to wait for the formal announcement about the changes instead of being more intelligent about how the NBA should handle the situation. If we saw some sh*t guidelines or changes there, I'm with you on your rally that NBA season should be cancelled.

My guess would be July... as I think June is just the month of training camps so each teams can prepare and well ready before the resume.
I think so it will be in July. Kind of a rush if the NBA will resume next month. These teams at the bottom are part of the decision making, therefore, these lower teams also want to come back even they don't have a chance at playoffs. The NBA commissioner reportedly has several meetings with the team owners. What might be the reason they want to come back even no chance at all to playoffs? Maybe they want their employees to come back at their work, seek up revenue for additional help to Covid-19 patients, and many more. Let's stay positive on this.

Probably, but as long as they still given a chance to compete, they would still do, that's the normal NBA we have been watching in the past, prior to this pandemic, even games are no bearing to a certain team, they still play hard and could still be a reason why some teams failed to get the last spot. So they still have a big role.

They are transparent with everything. It's just that, they cannot commit to anything regarding the schedule or the plan since they have no exact date when they will resume the game. Let's wait for a bit more. I bet they are also waiting for the go signal from the government. If that happens they might finish in October which should be the start of the season too. They will just need to adjust everything until it's back to normal.

This is the most important, without this, our hope will be gone, however, since there has been a lot of rumors that NBA will resume, I guess the chance is high that the NBA will resume. Government can't continue to give stimulus checks when they are not receiving taxes from this big industry anymore, and they can't afford to do the same kind of aid to the people longer, so they will be supportive to this as long as the proper measures will be implemented.
