eth price looking like Amazon in Y2K... hope it comes back up we got 15% of the WINGS allocated for ETH supporters. Won't be good for the project if this continues like this.

but you gotta wait for awhile until bitcoin stabilizes after these hykes.

So sub $5 coming? ... always said so, it went too quick from less than $1 to $20 ... needs to consolidate in 50cents to $2 range for a few years first.

R3CEV is more Hyperledger/IBM related as far as I know, Ethereum is backed by other single companies like Reuters, JP Morgan, Santander and Microsoft. They have been collaborating but R3CEV doesn't have much to do with the EF.

I just don't see it as positive for any coin relying on such institutional support. That includes XRP as well.

I can see why you don't trade.

Maybe moving some % of BTC into ETH is a good diversification strategy, while it's cheap?

It is funny to see that even though ETH has dropped significantly in the last days the price of it is still higher then it was when OP was made. To be more precise it was 0.0066 BTC in February 6 and it is 0.011 BTC now. Idk what will happen in the future, there are chances it will drop even more, but for now OP was right - ETH was cheap then, compared to today's price.

The Ethereum is till the second most popular crypto currency. There is nothing fundamental wrong with it.

You shouldn't speak too soon, you know. 0.01 is breached and volume is still lacklustre. Zooming the chart out to the 3D or 1W, this is following the pattern of a classical crypto bubble.

Well it was hit on all fronts, dao, attacks, hacks, forks...I think if it hits $7 it would be a good time to start buying if you are not already accumulating already. The reason is that this is the long trendline from before the DAO. Yes it can go to $5-6 depending on BTC rally but to me that's a steal. It all comes down to long term potential and BTC can't be the only blockchain ruling the world, they complement each other perfectly and the market will eventually react to that.

Plus, BTC will be dumping soon, not sure what's the top but we are very close, when that happen you will see ETH shorts getting rekt and the bounce will be epic to 150k and above (it could still come down after that though).

Nope, not accumulating. That's a sucker's game at this point imho. Waiting for the big move, as I said recently, with the intention of selling the rebound.

I do not share your bearish views on Bitcoin.

I'm not shorting ETH at these prices really, too risky, the money was already made shorting it from above 0.02...now the tide will change. Bitcoin will touch $800 (even $820-850) and then dump, mark my words. ETH can still go to 600-800k during this time.

I'm looking forward to that, but I would not be too confident to see that price and then dump again. As long as the price of bitcoin is increasing, I would not touch ETH still as it's too risky. Another dump might still happen with continuous increase of bitcoin.

By sell the rebound, I don't mean shorting, but buying the big red candle preceding it. Perhaps I'll miss the bottom, but I'm not going to fish for it in a gentle, almost orderly decline. Show me the whites of their eyes - then I will act.

The chart on Bitcoin looks good to $1000 to me, though I can't deny the possibility for dumps with Segwit activation. Shall I carve your words in stone? Probably not. Tongue

I'm sorry maybe I'm missing something because I'm new to this thing and just trying to understand, but why are you saying "to 150k and above" if it is already (or still?) over 0.01? I mean 0.01 is a 1000k right?

And I don't think BTC will dump soon. Not this time. $750 - $800 is a reasonable price for BTC for now IMO.

Shorting ETH at this stage would be a bad, bad idea. It already is at a six month low (in terms of BTC) and there seems to be no fundamental reason for further declines. Bitcoin is showing strength, but that should not be reason for you to go short on ETH.

Probably not but maybe write them down in a notepad  Tongue.

BTC seems to be going above $800 but we'll see what happens after Sunday with the Italy vote, if No wins Bitcoin will continue to rally but it won't last long. I'm not selling Bitcoin just yet, just waiting to hit $800. No adoption, no development, same issues, block fulls, confirmation times, it will dump because it's all short term speculation based on nothing. Of course it will still be king but same thing happened with the halvening. A fair price to close out the year would be around $650-700 tops.

ETH is already recovering a little bit, I think you could've bought that red line to 950k,...I admit I picked some, to me that's the trendline before the Dao and I couldn't help myself. Like many we are all waiting to get ETH at $3-5. I suspect we will never see that, not even in a flash crash but stranger things have happened.

I thought it recovered but price is now back to below $8- even despite small upward trend we noticed today.
What is happening is people selling ETH to buy bitcoin because of the news about China and India is banning gold trading/export.

I think the price will only recover when there is no more attack on the Ethereum network when it become very robust.

Shorting ETH all the way back to $2 is the easiest juicy long term trade you'll get in crypto for some time ... hang in there until the really big dumps happen in 6-12 months and then look for a good exit. GL happy traders.

But it may take a lot of the time, no one knew when the upcoming fork for the ethereum network.
