According to Kano the network has been pretty much on schedule. Last block found 9min ago as of this post.
However - I made my buy at 11:00a and so far just over 4hrs later no acknowledgement from Bitmain.

So far in the past they have eventually confirmed payment when a delay like this happens but still...  <worried>

66m block time was from kano.is

How do you make a payment in BTC in less than an HOUR?

The entire network has not found a block in

Network:     66m (416434)

please explain

I have a payment thats been status ? for 3 hours now and mid setting on confirmation time.

how this (66min for a block) is even theoretically possible? It seems to go way over five sigma.
does it mean that a lot of hashing power is fake a.k.a INTENTIONALLY setup to NOT find blocks? is this even possible?

Surprisingly 66min is just under 3sigma if the network is running at 10min/block:

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=CDF%5BExponentialDistribution%5B1%2F10%5D,+66%5D

0.99864

thanks for really running the numbers-I just guesstimated; it is surprising, indeed.

I've got an incoming transaction sent on June 6th that still hasn't confirmed, and an order with Bitmain from yesterday still pending. Blocks have been very full lately. Whatever happened to upping the cap?

s9-20160608-650M-release.tar.gz is available from bitmaintech now; it shows a compile date (/usr/bin/compile_time) one day later than the firmware my Batch 1 shipped with, fwiw...

Also just spent 2 hours signing another transaction.. guess I shouldn't mine to my trezor address!

The issue is that the Trezor signs rather slowly. If you have a lot of inputs, like you will if you've received mining proceeds, then the total signing time can be very slow.

The way I deal with this is mine to a different Trezor account. Periodically, and when I'm not in a hurry, I consolidate by sending from the mining account to the main one. This way when I spend from the main account it's fast.

Was I helpful?   BTC: 3G1Ubof5u8K9iJkM8We2f3amYZgGVdvpHr

Ordered one on June 1st, DHL got the shipping paperwork on June 12th, actual pickup on the 13th (China time).  Was thrilled to see DHL predict delivery yesterday by end of day.  Didn't happen.

Called DHL today and was told the unit was apparently stuck in Chinese customs.  DHL US has the paperwork, but not the box yet.  *sigh*

I also wanna buy S9, B3 but the price went up 100$?? better wait then after halving..

in theory the batch 3 will ship today if you pay today.

while batch 2 ships on the 20th

so for 100 usd  you get it 5 days faster.

it would earn 95 usd in 5 days if you have 10 cent power

it would earn 103 usd in 5 days if you have 5 cent power.
Well, price could possibly drop to 1900 or so and there'd be almost no difference. The problem is, Bitmain has the right to manipulate the prices as much as they like, because they're the only big company making any chips and miners right now. i'm guessing the "demand"(pretty high, i assume) will make the price go up AGAIN for the S9. Dunno why it's "limited edition" though. Maybe I missed something, but aren't all their miners "limited"? They all eventually become not produced anymore.

Suspect they are doing a bit of hype by limiting purchases to 5 units or less per order.  Doing so makes the home miner feel like the data centers won't overwhelm them, and perhaps by limiting the sale somewhat, difficulty won't spike as bad.  Note its 5 per order, not aware of anything to prevent someone from having 200 orders in.

I don't think it is done to cause a "bit of hype".  I personally think it has to do with it being new, but I am speculating there.   As far as more then 5 you should not be able to as they do mention it is per user:  "Because of this batch's limited quantity, there is a maximum limit of 5 units per user". This means that one user should not be able order more than 5 miners.

So it should again be monitored by wording based on username I would guess.   But I have not heard sharing ordering 5+ so we really don't know but I still don't think done for hype.

Do you guys in the states have to pay an import tax?

I bought 2 x ANTMINER S7-LN with power supply

had to pay extra $185.00 in import tax
In the USA Customs Duty/import tax does not kick in until the value of the shipment (or goods you bring in from a trip abroad) exceeds $2500.

Still pretty easy to get around, make a new account and buy 5, rinse and repeat. Unless they catch 1 address buying 300 miners for a farm, it shouldn't be a big deal. Maybe use a friend's address if you're desperate and don't want to get caught, but it's too new imo, and for the average buyer, 5 is more than enough. There's a possibility they just have a lack of the new 16nm chips to manufacture the miner (hence limited quantity) and so they're trying to cap the buy amounts so that orders don't get backed up, but that's just my guess. I really doubt they care much about the difficulty, if anything, they're the only provider selling current generation miners at the moment, and for them , more sales is more money. That's really all I can think of for logical ways for why it's so limited.
