Price drop looks much worse than it really is. Value should be accounted for in USD. Also not to mention the inflation rate which results in holders having more coins but each coin is worth less naturally.

Total market cap is the accurate depiction as to price movements for GBYTE.

snip

About 50% off from ATH

Sorry man but I totally disagree. We are in the crypto world here and what I care about is the price in terms of BTC. USD has no value to me. I do not need to see the glass half full in the way you see it.
Many coins looks good in terms of USD value, even the shittiest ones, but since I'm in crypto I've only cared about BTC prices. Or maybe I am very biased.

Imo, no further energy should be put into this cashback program. Who cares about some restaurant somewhere in the middle of nowhere... Unless you can have some BIG partners (unlikely) not worth it imo.
Take a couple extra % of the GBYTE distribution, hire some extra people and do something BIG (roadmap).

so everyone being selling to buy lower , how good must be ,
coin recovery for no reason beside someone accumulating 99 % of the coin in circulation ?

the cashback stuff is a good idea in principle, but too much is being put on it and the choices are really weird. it should be for stuff that everyone can access online.

if i were in charge of this coin i'd get the distribution done and dusted asap. it became too much of an event and it's distorted everything way too much.

i'd link the rest to a snapshot that people have to claim manually. that'll massively slow it down and a lot will never be claimed and i'd hold back far more for myself to fund the ongoing stuff. there's no need to dispose of 99% of it when the developer can do far more with it.

check how nem have done it. their team holds back an insane amount. no one minds. people can also apply to have development projects funded that are voted on in its wallet.

What counts is the value of goods I can buy for a currency. So how much rice, tomatoes or apples do I get for my Bytes? Everything else is irrelevant.

what did anyone expect with the distribution carried out as it was?

Dude, it seems to me you hate any distribution where 100% of the coins don't belong to you.  Cheesy

I think that is more of an accurate description of yourself dude.

So much crying about price and distribution.  This is far from devastating. Volume has increased 3 fold in the past 12 hours adding to the base of hodlers.

I'm sure nobody was crying these big tears and complaining about distribution when the price was going up.

This project has some impressive qualities and it's still very young.

The clowns that are trying break this market will likely be walking around with egg on their face as the market matures.

Sadly, there will always be some who go all in when the price is high and have nothing to invest when the market is at it's best opportunity.

Why is IOTA market cap so much higher than Byteball?  I realize that Byteball inflation rate is high since most of the distribution is occurring this year, but still..  Undecided

Perhaps airdrops on coins other than bitcoin should be considered? (Ethereum, Monero, Waves)  Even small airdrops will raise awareness.. anything to get people to try Byteball.

Lol. Peeps  need to calm the fuk down. Btfd and wait 6 months for distro to be done. You'll see. Quote me  Cheesy

Completely agree.  I have accepted that price will be suppressed during the distribution phase.  I have no problem with this because I will be hodling long time, and we should want the people dumping their airdrops to get low price.

The more people will use the wallet and understand the advantages of byteball the better. Hence the merchants are indeed a good idea.

What is missing though is more Marketing and adoption. So that people actually talk about it. This coins is likely ONE OF THE BIGGEST successes in 2017 - yet it is hardly talked about. More us tech guys know about it.

I believe in Tony and that longterm the price will be up again, for sure in coming weeks as we get closer to the full moon.

Here is the quote from Tony on the cashback address -

...
Cashbacks will come from this address https://explorer.byteball.org/#TU3Q44S6H2WXTGQO6BZAGWFKKJCF7Q3W
...

You can keep tabs on the # of cashback transactions and the amounts.

I was a big believer of this project. But when I used other wallets of Ark, PIVX and Decred, I stopped believing in Byteball wallet's superiority. Yes, the chatbot function is nice. But that cannot be enough to think Byteball should be in top 30 or 50 crypto.

Blackbytes may have some advantage in privacy, but PIVX's zPIV looks better in terms of ease of use, as far as I can tell.

Maybe it's just I don't fully appreciate technical attractiveness of Byteball, but for the time being, I am comfortable with investing in other nice projects. When price uptrend is back, I may come back to buy some bytes , though.

Who'da eva thunk that a coin that raced to one third of Bitcoin's price would have gone down like this? /s

It was about as obvious that those prices wouldn't be maintained as it was with ZCash's.
