I need to update my client and have a look but from reading the release notes and other peoples reviews/comments on here it is unsurprising that it is work of the highest quality.
I have one question. I have tried to link my BTC address for the upcoming airdrop event in November but the bot keeps giving me an error. The BTC is in a new SEGWIT address (starting 3XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX...) and I don't think this is currently compatible.
Is there any intention to correct this and make this work in the future or will I have to move my BTC to an older legacy address? (I am relucant to pay the BTC transaction fee - extortionate given the amount of BTC I have - very little, but will do it if I have to)
Thanks in advance for your responses
Currently there is no standard for message signatures with SegWit addresses. There was a proposal and trezor implemented it but then backed out the feature because the proposal did not become a standard. So, this is not a ByteBall issue. It is a SegWit issue. Until a standard is defined and is implemented system wide you will need to move your BTC to a legacy address in order to be able to sign a message.

I think if Byteball could be claimed in our bitcoin wallets it could be a great idea and more bitcoin and ETH holders would join, blockchain.info Now has a section for claiming bitcoin cash, that could be the same thing with Byteball. You need to talk with the major web wallets and other wallet developers to make this happen.

Nice idea but far too much work for a temporary thing. There's no upside for wallet developers.
They can point to wallet signing and that'll be enough

Effort would be better spent getting everyone to agree on a SegWit message signature algorithm and then getting everyone to implement it system wide.

What is this?? Some small event the developer of Byteball is participating in and talking a bit about his invention.Great! Spread the word, this is good. But do you really think this will make any big difference in terms of the price?? I say no! The big guys will continue playing with byteball. When they think it's time to pump, they will pump. When it's time to dump they will dump. If they wanna keep the price low and tight, that's what you'll have to deal with. If you like it or not. DAG or not, won't make any significant difference in terms of value for quite some time imo. So this "mic drop"-thing is just plain dumb and embarrassing.

Appreciate it, CryptKeeper! That I can do, but won't the wallet need to be fully synced to successfully complete the send? I was under the impression that creating a send transaction would slow down the sync process even more. It's been about a month since I've been synced up, so I don't want to slow this down any more than I have to Let me know, man..... peace! To restore the twelve-words seed, you don’t have the original wallet to be synced. But sending out Blackbytes with a not fully synced wallet could be a problem. I guess Michail1 knows more about it! Basically, you're going to have to let it sync to make sure you also have all your bytes (both bytes and blackbytes). My suggestion though (since you're only running the node every once in a while (so no reason to run full node)) is to let it sync and then go through the process of converting to a lite wallet. There is a couple of ways to do this (in order to save your black bytes). You probably want to retain your addresses since they're registered for airdrops or other reasons and this can be done as well --- accomplished easier with another device.

Technically, it looks like the bottom is in for now, although I would wait until the price stays above .04 to be sure. Three consecutive daily green candles and approaching two weeks of staying above 0.03 after hitting it, with moderate volume and moderate/growing buy side of the orderbook. 80 BTC market sell makes the price -33% from .036 whereas 80 BTC market buy takes the price +66% from .036.

Do you think just in terms of the "price"? Don't you believe in showcasing a project/product/company at a meetup like this and getting exposure among the startup and investor community? Have you ever founded or been a founding member of a startup or atleast attended any such conferences? Do you know how the networking at these startup/business events works? Do you know how many investors and entrepreneurs attend these? Do you know how many developers go to these events to find out more about latest innovations and technologies and are looking to be a part of the innovative startups? Who said anything about the price? If you don't understand the bigger picture, just ask! Just don't embarrass yourself further! If you still don't get it and want to know more, just dm me!

November 4, 2017 at 05:23 UTC, depending how much linked BTC ( http://transition.byteball.org). and GB. The snapshot is the first block solved after the full moon. It was always fun to watch the idiots that couldn't read try to play the market by dumping their bytes seconds after the full moon thinking they were going to beat out everyone else in dumping. Then only to find out the bitcoin block wasn't solved yet so they lost out on the 10% bonus. They then came here and slack to complain they were screwed. I can't wait for the next distribution to happen to laugh again. So, the snapshot is the first block after the full moon. Wouldn't it be funny if this was changed to the second block or if there was a reorg on the bitcoin blockchain?

Although it's already recommended that you make a full backup often, the answer is no. There is nothing special to be done. You only need to run the installer. The software is installed in a different directory than the wallet data. So, you're safe and nothing else needs to be done or converted, etc.

Ohhh, you mean the big guys make things happen? This is good knowledge. Damn, you mean like EVERYTHING in life. As for the event, I am happy to see it's an event with 100+ speakers. So, it's pretty damn big. I would rather see that than some simple bitcoin meetup with a couple of speakers and 20 people showing up. Also, with the cost of the tickets, it's not simply kids showing up trying to get in on some free swag. i also want to ask you people how to backup my wallet from my old laptop. i have tried synchronizing the wallet from the phone with the one on the laptop but did not work the transfer of coins..what am i missing?
Backup on old laptop to a file. Move that file to the new device and use it to restore. It's really that simple. UNLESS you have full node on the pc. A mobile device is a light client. - You would know if you run a full node on the pc because of the time it takes to sync and the backup would be 10GB.
