I'm trying to get black bytes, can anyone share with me noobie instructions on how to buy them and how to earn them ? Thanks in advance  Smiley

Blackbytes can not be traded on exchanges yet, this should change in the future. You can buy them directly from users.
Or the easiest way is to participate in the next (5th) and future distribution rounds. (How to is described in the ANN post)

I'm still getting Windows malware detected on new client. Guessing I have to disable virus protection.

Same. Windows defender just removed a "Trojan" from the installation.

happy new year! Smiley

3 coins is very interesting.  byteball/elastic XEL/ Qtum/

will hold my 700BTC shares byteball for one year.

700 BTC shares byteball?  We got a whale in the house!  Cheesy

But yes, it's good to hold byteball for now... I'm curious what will happen with black byteballs.

Coinmarketcap gives 1,499 BTC as the market cap for all the byteballs distributed. I doubt anyone was given 700 BTC worth, that's almost half of all byteballs distributed. It would require linking approximately 30000 BTC to get that number of byteballs from the distribution.
Explorer shows that your bb address contains 1012588898911 bytes:

https://explorer.byteball.org/#N5M2V4ZV3GWBRIGPHKOIVFI54UHDDDGC

not half marketcap..

about 1012588898911 Smiley

byteball will be popular!

i will hold and buy BTC/Byteball/Qtum/elastic XEL  in 2017.

i am happy i am still hold my byteball, did not sell any!

https://explorer.byteball.org/#N5M2V4ZV3GWBRIGPHKOIVFI54UHDDDGC

right now, it's become more..

1347GB.

will hold this until 15th April 2018.

i will hold Byteball/Qtum/Elastic in 2017.

rich more rich with this method..may be time to restor the balance..think so dev.

Based on this table, I can see a large inflation happen the coming 12 rounds. The percentage of bytes distributed will go up a factor 6 (from 16% to 96%). Until then, the 10% monthly reward for owning bytes makes it interesting to keep the bytes.
However, after the airdrop ends, suddenly the incentive to HOLD ends with it. At that point the price can drop quite a lot.

Byteball is very innovative. But to completely replace the BTC is still very difficult.

Byteball has DAG technology, but the function is not perfect, there is still a long way to go.

I also think it's possible for any coin to replace BTC. Byteball is still very young so it would take very long time to grow to reach the adoption level of BTC but that is good investment. In future this will be huge coin.

Are you a communist?

im not..but this isn't me wich distrib to rich..im not totalitarianism no more.

yu get free money and more yu spit on smaller..i never understand why rich contemp so much poor..when a richs become more rich system is consolidated..but when poors become rich system failure..it is really true.

i like byteball because it is Innovative project not a simple copy of bitcoin..but i no want some body get all coins..and this become a rich dumping.

the process distrib is good because trusted can be verified..yu cant multiple claiming (or it is more difficult)..may be dev can give more percent for small wallet..exemple 20%~<100gb..30%<10gb ect..or reduce part of big wallet..it is simple suggestion.

How much is 1 byteball= btc?
1 GB = 0.093 BTC
1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes
So, 1 byteball = 0.93 / 1,000,000,000 = 0.000000000093 BTC

So, 1 byteball = 0 BTC

How do I get a reward for 0.01 btc?
for 1 BTC your reward is 0.0625 GB
for 0.01 BTC your reward is 0.000625 GB
1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes
So, 0.01 BTC will give you 0.000625 X 1,000,000,000 = 625,000 bytes

Last distribution gave me more than 600k bytes that made me excited but once I calculated the value it was shocking. Actually Gbyte and just byte made some confusion at least until to you get used with all unites of the token. Now it made me still happy after all it was free and will try to get better share next month.

Do you think the reasons blackbytes are ridiculously cheap is  no  real exchange at the moment and maybe lack of knowledge of people who just see the white bytes on bittrex?  If the money suppley is 2:1 balck  to  white I feel  at some point there should be a massive price correction/discovery where blackbytes are worth maybe 25% of white bytes?

It simply comes down to lack of exchange. The use case is different and one could argue, they are much more useful to the common man.

Some clever small exchange will crack the problem and then it'll start to be traded more easily, driving the price up.

Someone mentioned timeline and its logical that after the free bytes have all gone then speculators will look to squeeze profit of blackbytes.

For me, this project is all about amassing blackbytes as sooner or later a dark net market will endorse blackbytes and code payment in to their market, hyping blackbytes in the crypto media. If network effects gets started then it's conceivable that blackbytes will be on par or worth more than bytes.

Summary... buy em cheap, hold em and wait it out for a massive profit IF the above happens. They can be bought so cheap, it's well worth the nominal financial risk.

Hi,

For the 4th round I connected my wallet with one bitcoin address(blockchain.info) and the balance was just 0.3BTC but also in this case I should receive some BB? Cause I received nothing  Undecided

Technically, if your funds were on the address you linked, then you should've gotten your share.

How did you link your address? Did you do a micropayment? And if so, did you move your funds back to the address that the bot told you?

Yes they were on the address that I linked. I did a micropayment, I payed 0.001497 BTC from my wallet on blockchain.info. Also got the confirmation from the transition bot after that. Can also show you a screenshot from conversation with transition bot. Really dont know why I did not receive any BB. But now I want to be sure to get some at the next round.
Maybe I use wrong wallet?

For future distributions, it's probably safest to obtain a lightweight SPV client and move your funds to an address you fully control.  The transition bot does advise against using webwallets like blockchain.info:

Quote
Now please pay 0.001371 BTC to [BTC address] from a wallet where you control the private keys (no exchange wallets, no Coinbase, no Xapo, etc). By paying you will prove ownership of your Bitcoin address we receive the payment from.

But please ensure you make multiple backups of your private keys and secure your wallet with a password even before you've moved any funds to it.  Remember to also make somewhat regular backups from time to time as, for example, USB sticks can lose data if they are left unpowered for too long.
