Just pins , its the small black board on the controler , just carefuly remove it and replace it Wink
Making a fat 16 bootble micro SD card is quite easy in linux , for windows  use something like this

http://www.ptdd.com/fixboot.htm

Great, I'll give it a shot at the office tomorrow.  I did the sd but followed KnC's directions.  It didn't say make it bootable or FAT16, so I did one non-bootable on FAT32.  Otherwise it looked like it copied because it came up saying RC6 as the firmware before I updated it.  I guess 5 of my TH will be down until I can get a couple more BBBs here.

I don't really mind the Neptunes.  They seem just a bit more finicky than the Jups & Sats I had.  Plus KnC refunded my $10,166 and I'm getting these cubes second hand.  Seems like a win-win for me.

Here same kind of situation , fat32 should work too as long as you use short DOS style names.
KNC is not that bad , nobody would had complained about ROI if the btc price was $3000 now Wink

^^selling HashLast and KNC stuff. 16nm is coming?  Grin

I think he prefers to buy the btc with the money he makes from selling the neptune  Tongue    the 16nm will probably be ready somewhere near Q4 2015 - Q1 2016..
16-nanometer will be pimpin' the diff any day actually, but there will be no Public sales other than cloud-hashing contracts.

And that is how KNC (and other big mining manufacturers) are destoying the Bitcoin Eco system.

They have earned your trust in the old days and now they are revealing them self as the greedy criminals they are.
Wish I punched Sam Cole in the kisser at the Bitcoin 2014 conference in Amsterdam, too bad I did not Sad

Blane the lawyers here . they give the people who are to stupid to haldle a miner the possibility toe sue KNC...
the result will be they stop selling to end users! is that simple!
so in the end blame it on the short term bastearts.
Now oly chineese componys will sell to you they can not be sued , by stupid people so they can take the risk.

not related.....they announced the fact they were going private (from what i remember) long before the class action suit and the rest came to be
...in other words the fact knc promised in fall of 2013 they were gonna add upgrade modules to the Jupiter line and/or further juptier machines...and
also after they said they would not self mine beyond 5% etc....when they pulled the plug on that promise (bitcoinrama then left will like to talk to him
when his NDA expires prob in 10 years) .....then that is when people started TALKING about suing ..but the actual lawsuit etc from what I remember
did not come into play till long after KNC let the above intentions show...

in other words the lawsuits will claim that KNC delayed products to consumers to benefithte themselves as a long practice even before the Neptunes etc
that is how I remember it playing out anyway

it also waits to be seen if KNC can be sued....not a lot of consumer protection from what I can tell in this whole fiasco

whatever .....what do I know I used to think KNC was golden in 2013....

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Yes they would! At least the people with any sense! (I know, there is very few in developed countries). They would put in as much 'wealth' at $300 as they would have at $3000 or even $30,000 per btc.

The reason your wrong is the bigger picture. The $/£/€/¥ whatever does not even matter against the btc! Especially when mining! Because if your a miner, and i mean a proper miner, not just a greedy money seeking dirt bag like most here, that means you believe in the btc protocol and therefore (correctly) realise fiat is worthless and people are brainwashed by central authorities and conditioned at school to be obedient, not to answer back or critically think. This been true, fiat is worthless so every $/£ etc you put into btc or mining is converting worthless stuff into something YOU believe in! Only losers in this is people paying btc for btc miners! They got screwed over as they will never recover the btc they put into buying the btc miner (think bfl,BA, cointerra, etc etc) so they will never ROI, but people who used fiat will always ROI because the whole idea of btc is to destroy this bullshit fiat system that is worthless, except for dumb shits out there that believe it has ANY VALUE! Except debt! Billions and billions of debt! (USA - 19 trillion, UK - 9 trillion etc etc).

So, to sumerise, if you paid in fiat, your golden! Every satoshi is profit. This is of cause if your a true miner for the cause and not one of the greedy mofo's that are now 90% of this market unfortunitly. It wasmeh much better back in 2010/2011 when less people were in to it :-(

However, if you paid btc for your miners, you are almost guaranteed to lose btc before the miner would return the btc you spent! Electricity is a meh thing because you pay with fist for that. Fuck fiat, its toilet paper (sorry toilet paper, your actually useful unlike fiat). Its sad that its so easy manipulate people in this world with something that is worthless as fiat currency. Face it, that's what fiat is. A control tool for people. Allows you control people because of debt (which is an illusion in itself) burdened upon people. Plain and simple!

And to go a step further, btc protocol is not currency! Eventually I believe block chain technology will create a cashless society where its all about trust and the associations and partners we make along the way. You know, how it was before we gave all our powers and liberties over to the few (and I mean less than 5000 people here) at the top in a centralised system!

You see, greedy people like most here can't see past the fiat currency. Hell, I bet most still think its all backed by gold! Lol.

Intrincit value is a wonderful thing, free flowing, transmutable and constantly reforming into whatever is needed at that point in time and space. Ask a African what's more valuable, water will be at the top of their list! Then food, which is the truth! Look at western society! They'd put corporations at the top of that list!

Go live in India, go live in Cambodia, Africa and many many places and see what intrinsic value REALLY is!

Kill all monarch's, politicians, high ranked military men, high ranked church people (the whole of the Vatican basically) and then you would have eliminated 80% of the worlds issues and the other 20% we could solve over a few years!

Nazi party was the first time the rich and powerful created a army that was all for them! They were the personal at of the elites around the world. Hitler was there pet project, to the point they named it, THE HITLER PROJECT! Genious name!

I've gone on a tangent, but its all relative as what people believe in this world is just bullshit! Programmed bullshit!

The sad thing is, although the truth is a hard pill to swallow, its the only thing that truely sets you free, no matter how horrible the 'scene' of today is, you will be free!

I don't believe there's many legit miners left though tbh, the greed makes legit people run away as its so off putting and unpalatable.

Dear Sir/Madam.

We can see from our records that you have selected to receive a bonus Titan miner as part of the 2 for 1 offer we ran last year. Due technical issues in the selection process the Titan miner was not correctly registered as a choice and not accounted for. In this case we would like to offer you the following options instead of receiving the bonus Titan miner.

Option 1: Swap the bonus Titan miner for a free Neptune miner expected to ship within the next few weeks.

Or

Option 2: Receive a BTC payment of 3 Bitcoins per bonus Titan miner you were entitled to. (If you select this option please provide a BTC wallet address with your confirmation)

Please reply to this email to confirm your choice before the end of business 17:00 CET on Friday 3rd of April.

Thank you.

@Noddy

Wow! Just Wow!

A little more hard core than myself.  The big picture I see is that for the fiat system to collapse, there would be a crisis of epic proportion. Chances are the banking systems would be offline and if that's the case probably no internet.  That leaves bitcoin (currently) dead. Since bitcoin is not tangible, it will be hard for the 'average' person to want to use it for bartering.

Now back to KnC issues.

Still wait Titan mini batch 2

I have just received the following email from KnC.
Dear Sir/Madam,
We can see in our records that you had ordered a batch 2 Mini Titan miner. Unfortunately due an unforeseen shortage of a critical component we are forced to cancel the entire production of the batch 2 Mini Titans.
In this case we can offer you one of the following options.

1)      Receive a Neptune miner which is being produced in our assembly facility this week and next.
2)      Receive a full refund of your batch 2 Mini Titan order. (Please note that refunds will only be paid via the method used to pay for each order)

Please confirm your choice as soon as possible.

Thank you.
KnCMiner Team.

I choose full refund.

What a crooks!  How can an ONLY 3 BTC offer be a reasonable compensation for their error!
A Titan-second-batch has 450 mHs, and makes 2 BTC per month! with current difficulty (which was stable for months in a row).  Running a Titan-second-batch for 1 year will make much and much more than their 3 BTC offer.  This is pure extortion!

My advice: reject their offer. Ask at least 9 BTC.

Correction to what I said, they are now saying that they will not give the Titan and that I have to chose either option.  A used old piece of Neptune, that they have no more need of or 3 BTC ($700) in place of the miner that was retailing for $6995.00  Angry This is complete BS

You don't have to choose the options shown, note that they said "we would like to offer you the following options instead of receiving the bonus Titan miner."
I take this to mean that you still have the Titan as offered, however, you can select one of the following different options.
I received the same email, so its just a blanket email that's been sent out to all people who selected bonus Titans.  I replied that I still want the bonus Titan and would like to know when it will be shipped, as it was agreed to be shipped at the tail end of the Titan batch 2.  I'm still waiting for their reply.

I believe they are only wanting to get rid of the old Neptune equipment, that they have been mining with for months, so that they have room for the Solar Miners, remember, they did the same this with the Super Jupiter's.  It's been 4 months since it was announced and they must be getting close to getting sample chips now.

First you should have upgraded directly to 106S but tyhis is not a real problem looks like your beagle bone is broken...
Just get a new one here.
http://www.element14.com/community/community/designcenter/single-board-computers/next-gen_beaglebone/

replace it by carfully removing the old BBB form the control board.
flash the new BBB with http://www.kncminer.com/downloads/support/neptune/SD_Neptune_rc6.zip from microSD card...
to do this use a fat 16 formated sd card max 8 gb
make it booable with http://www.ptdd.com/fixboot.htm if you use microbullshit products , if you use linux use fdisk and set the boot flag on the partition table .. copt the flis from the zip file on the micro sd card.
put the micro sd in the BBB , power up the board and the BBB , it wil start and a withe , blue , green flashing light tells that flashing is finisched , remove card from beagle ,  now you sould have  version 0.6 or someting , before you connect antything , imeadatly upgrade to 1.06s vir the web interface.
When done connect the cube
the defaults are all cubes off volatage -0.0366
, you need to reconfigure all you miner config including volatage speed , miner account , miner server , etc , if you cant do this soory you sould not have been buying this stuff , it requires some tech skills to operate an miner.
Maby I can buy the stuff from you for a good price  Wink , but if you understand what iam wiriting I hope this is helpfull.
btw you can sevarly undervolt the cubes I have them running as low as -0.0829 volts at 500 mhz!
one miner uses around 1880 watts at all cubes at 500mhz.
if your lucky.

Thanks for the reply.  Do you suppose that even though it flashed to RC6 before, that it didn't work because I didn't have the sd bootable?  I was hoping it was just something stupid, but looks like it's not.  Another question before diving into this.  How is the BBB attached? Screws? Pins? Solder?

That BBB information contradicts what KnC has said on their now dead forums, so follow it at your own risk. What is guaranteed to work is a BeagleBone Black Rev B6. It's what comes with KnC's miners and I've done that swap myself. FAT32 works just fine and is much easier to accomplish on any decent sized microSD card. Indeed it needs to be bootable. I wonder where he got that information *cough* lol. If you flashed it and the lights blinked correctly (white/blue/green), then it's probably a bad BBB. If it was the bootable issue, then it wouldn't have flashed at all.

Thank you.
KnCMiner Team.
Wow, that really sucks. Sad KnC's criminality just keeps pumping in high gear. You could fight for the Titan, but I doubt you will get it. Best to go the legal route if you plan to refuse the Neptune offer. As others have already said, 3BTC is pathetic and insulting. Depending on the power costs in your area, you can even mine more than that with the Neptune!

FYI, I've reached ROI now in BTC with my Neptune miners and I'm very, very glad that I only spent about half of the cost in "worthless" fiat dollars, because I'll likely never ROI in dollars with these continuously pathetic BTC prices. Sure, some miners are in it just for greed, like KnC, BFL, etc, but others are in it to support it AND come out with more tangible resources, which are bought with those "worthless" fiat dollars.  Roll Eyes

HELP!

After a solid week of mining, my Neptune controller won't recognize my cubes.  I have to be missing something simple because I now have 2 controllers like that.  I've used recovery SD to RC6, updated to 1.00, 1.02, 1.05, 1.06s and none will see the cubes.

Instead of white flash that's about a second, I now get a short white flash 3x spaced out over probably 15 seconds.  No green led Sad

I'm sure this must be common, so what am I missing?

PS: All ribbons are firmly attached.  Red strip towards corner of cube and groove in controller.  I've tried just one cube and still nothing.

If by "won't recognize my cubes" you mean you can view miner webpages and controller but it will not detect ASIC cubes, I doubt it is a BBB issue.

No web page or ssh connection to miner, suspect BBB.
If you can connect to controller but it will not see cubes, suspect FPGA on controller board.
Have you tried the controller with no cubes connected?

While troubleshooting remove the LCD and try without it.

I sent email to knc but no answer from them 3 days now

Does anyone had the same problem

I think this means that if you paid in bitcoin, you will only get the same number of bitcoin back in refund …
