Haha, with that kind of speed on the packaging line, they have to shut down the pick-n-place machines to avoid a pile up! :-))

use p2pool - forget about pool ddos
Can you explain why this is different to a pool like btcguild in terms of ddos?

distributed.
decentralized.

Seems BFL are responding with a Monarch prototype.

it does not take a lot to make a prototype board for demo purposes if you don't show the ASIC chip more smoke and mirrors.

I can't post on BFL forums anymore but they are basically destroying the monarch on price vs shipping (ie feb) compared to orders now from knc in november

I'd have really liked to be a fly on the wall when Josh heard the following:

1) KNC is up and hashing with a working unit (maybe 1 day late) (that alone would have been epic)

2) KNC has increased the hashing power by 44% so my 600gh now has an extra 264gh potential increase now to around maybe 864gh

and of course 3 which really frosts the cake

3) That 264gh increase in hashing power is at NO COST

MAN talk about a bad day at BFL!

Just goes to show always go with the guys who start in april and say by September with the only proof is a web site with line drawings of the miners...

(must be a Swedish thing)

sheez this ASiC world is weird

Searing

hmmm....should probably not be bashing BFL and this card in that I had a "force uprgade" in my view with BFL no refund policy I upgraded to the monarch
my 60gh order.....I was right to do that I'm never gonna see the 60gh unit in time to do anything with it at the rate they are shipping..but was the only game in town
so this rat ran to the 600gh......likely both are lost live an learn doubt bfl will last long enough to get it out the door imho

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

and they can't promise that a backup mining pool will be in the first revision of this software.  Huh  Embarrassed
I wanted to SSH so I could add a couple of failover pools. This was the only thing I wanted to do the day I get my miner.

THIS IS NUMBER 1 SOFTWARE PRIORITY TO SORT KNC.

I don't want my miner sitting idle because one pool is under ddos  Angry

I called someone an amateur the other day for not having a failover pool and KNC are going to make us all amateurs if we can't set up multiple failover pools  Angry

(...)
Currently, we are working non-stop installing our new boards, hot off the production line, and getting them up and running. We expect to have 7.5 terahash up and mining by late morning and for that number to climb steadily to 150 terahash by this Friday.

What does this mean for you?

You will be able to see your contracts mining on your dashboards by late morning, and in two days you should be mining at full capacity

How come it's got even less miners using it than Slush's pool if it's so good?

I think main problem of that is because p2pool node needs basic knowledge to setup (but there are public nodes !!!)
and PPLNS systems - many newbies to p2pool hate that they don't get reward instant after start mining
Using p2pool it must be known - Payments will reach your maximum earnings after 24 hours. They will continue to progressively increase over time. This is how PPLNS works.

Is this Marcus? How much staff do they have?

No, tis I, and plenty work here. It's a monster manufacturing facility, but not all staff want to be on camera. The waybills are legit. You'll be seeing tracking ids soon enough. That one was to Spain. So if he's reading, speak up.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a dick. Just wanted to know why it wasn't more popular if it's resilient to ddos attacks. You did answer my initial question, so thanks for that.

Gotcha. A bit harder to set up, so probably less popular for that reason.

Fantastic.  Cheesy  thanks orama

Are they still giving us tracking numbers..?

If you've got time could you please ask and post back if they are in fact going to give us tracking numbers or if they're just to busy at moment.

Godspeed to you and the miners.  Wink
