If you choose to wine majorly on your own decision...... you're an idiot.  If its running by Wednesday you're ahead.

What? KNC promised instant hashing on day 1 and all the bangs with it. They haven't delivered. How am I am idiot for whinging about that? Hundreds of other guys got screwed as well. KNC even admitted fault.

Their hosting was expensive, but they promised instant hashing hence why I and many others choose it. It's the main reason why I even choose hosting in the first place.

In no oddworld would I have ever paid for expensive hosting just to get hosted 1.5+ weeks later instead of getting it day 1.

$2200 for 6 months.

Yeah, I'm on the side of being annoyed - I specifically paid for hosting because I thought that it would be up and hashing before UPS could ship them out.

As far as support goes, has anyone had any luck getting in touch with them via phone today or over the weekend? I tried calling this morning (9:06AM) but it went to a recording in swedish.

IMHO, They should simply connect the miners to the internet and to the pool of choice of the buyer(It's in the knc website account info) and let it hash until the hosting software is ready. Can't be too hard to do, but what do I know.
Totally speculating here, but I can see 2 not-unlikely reasons it could be "too hard":
  • They might be limited on power availability, and need to use it all for burnins.
  • The miners might already be at the datacenter, 3 hours away.
I am talking about hosting at the datacenter. Burnin is done at the factory.
And I want the miners at the datacenter, just plug them in and they will start hashing, since they already had their burnin at the factory.

I am selling in stock OneStringMiner boards, based on the Bitfury chips. Have a look here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=495536.0

have you emailed them to get out of hosting.ie If you are a day 1 order or whatever and they have 2 day shipping ups you maybe could jump w/o any worse off then the hosting when it is up..by date that is..ie get your $2k back maybe ..call it a draw and be in the boat with the rest of us not hosting

just saying perhaps i'm missing something else in this...just thinking in 'salvage' mode here

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Here is a good reason to have your miners hosted with KNC, they might catch fire.

I wonder what firmware this person was using. The latest decreases power usage quite a bit. Hopefully this was just a fluke.

Someone will still bitch about getting 4BTC or roughly $500.00  Undecided

Our Engineers have been working all weekend and the hosting facility is now operating normally.
So we can now increase our compensation for all DAY 1 customers that should of been hashing by now.
We will offer all customers 4 coins per Jupiter that should of been up and running by now as a good will gesture as you are currently about 4 days behind the factory queue.
We will be sending out login details to the people going live today and we will have more boxes online in the hosting facility tomorrow.
We appreciate that this is not an ideal situation for any of our customers but we are working on getting these issues solved a soon as possible
Oh and yes everyone still gets a free months hosting
Thanks

I just wonder if they will get the mercurys out befor the 15th

Good news! I am a late 39xx order myself so it does not affect me, however I was starting to get worried that there was something seriously wrong with the datacentre. Good that they have it up and running!

heh got you beat 304x number....but on a side note some guys on here have quoted they HAVE their units when I looked up the names on the KNC MINER ORDER LIST here on bitcointalk.....the highest was 120x so assuming that he did not have something before he did not list in this listing...looks like a good sign (I know I know I'm grasping at straws here)....

keep the tweaking of the firmware and other issues up early order guys...I wish to simply plug in my units in my 'smoking jacket' pop in the info and "viola" ....sip my Martini and watch the mining commence ..er now by the by if you could also get the Jupiter tweaked to over 600gh that would be 'lovely' ...ah....(wait have to buy a 'smoking jacket in next 2 days or so)....

When you compare KNC (in just the last few weeks) to BFL since their inception, it is like "God" came down and took things over. (relatively speaking)
I is amazing, KNC has upped the Ghash/s SUBSTANTIALLY for FREE and now the 4BTC compensation for a late start.

Josh from BFL just says "We are a hardware company" and basically SOL for the late deliveries. Pretty sick (devil).

Way to go KNC,

I consider last week highly unprofessional, and told them so. You can't state in your ToS that it is a b2b model and then deliver more than a week late. And I think a kind of compensaton is in order. Not only in form of a few bitcoins or cashback, that would be pretty much pointless. I want a voucher for 50% off on the next gen devices/november units for every unit which should have been here by Thursday/Friday last week.

I would agree with this. Any refund process has to work for KnC, and this kind of arrangement may be the most appropriate option for KnC to rescue customer loyalty that might diminish as a result of these issues.
