In the end we have decided to open up to allow PayPal payments as well. The main reason for this was to allow people to enter the market. Rather than to only cater for people who have managed to trade or mine the appropriate amount of coins already.

Why did they stop accepting PayPal/CC? Having a payment method with some consumer protection was nice while it lasted.

dunno.

speaking of paypal, this is still present in their payment section:

On the CC side the only thing I can say is I can't understand why they changed their mind so quickly.

Back in September they said "we are the first Bitcoin mining manufacturer to offer secure payments directly by credit card", and more to the point we all know about Orama's endorsement of secured payment. It was stickyed in the main page of "Custom Hardware" board for quite a while.

Another thing that I've found strange was the trick that you had to play if you wanted to chose bank transfer as payment method for the first neptune batch.

I'm pretty upset as a previous customer that I didn't get any notification of the first Neptune batch. I've emailed them about that and they just replied that the second batch is open and available to purchase.  Great customer service, right?  Anyone else in the same boat?

This may have been for the first gen asic's
However now that they are proven not a scam they do not need the overhead.

one can argue that since people are buying up units at this price leaves little reason to use those payment methods.

So now instead of "Rather than to only cater for people who have managed to trade or mine the appropriate amount of coins already" it is "To cater only to people who are already our customers." Intersting business model. Seems to be working!

After seeing the batch 2 prices & 3-4 week ship delay, happy I went all in with Batch 1.   My first neptune was 12.4 BTC but when I placed my next order I got 3 neptunes for under 30BTC after shipping!    BTC price rise was a beautiful thing.    I have no doubt each Neptune will mine more than 10 coins each.

Now I pray KNC offers a hosting service so I can dock the 4 of these for a year.

THANKS GUYS...see it... blind this morning....lol
I think that your auction of two machines that have not shipped is actually relevant here since you can tell the forum WHEN you get notification that 1019X has shipped so people can know what to expect since we are obviously not going to see them ship before Nov 30 and KNC is not saying much more than they will all ship by Nov 30, Wednesday, Friday....

$13k for 3TH is too expensive, and the "Q1/Q2" timeframe too nebulous, for me. There will be a lot of other hardware choices out there prior to that. I have a batch 1 order and that's all I'm willing to stake at this point.

The first batch caught us before we could get our funds together.

The second batch is indeed far riskier...

If more Jupiters had been available -- we would have ordered a "Six Module" version...

Too bad -- looking at other things through necessity now.

If all my four neptune payments will come back, I want to buy 4 x 2Th/s machines there.

each time you send a transaction don't forget to use a new address, each time you receive one also!

This is especially true if they ended up selling 1200 units on the first batch rather than pull it half way like some have suggested.
