The owner of the FC Simple Pool could start a 51% attack anytime, couldn't he?

Let's move some hashrate here then http://mine.altpool.com/ (it works very well, except some website problem) or to the FC p2p pool as suggested from Simple Pool admin himself.

Feathercoin mining difficulty just jumped from  3.50304097 to 7.76718663

I am solo mining. Why does cgminer report difficulty 509k then?

cgminer uses a factor of 65536 * difficulty, i.e. 7.7 * 65536 = 509k

But will cgminer ever report a found block back to the network then?

I thought it only reports it to the network if it's difficulty is higher than the requested difficulty (which is 509k), no?

Also cgminer always reports "Best share: 0". Isn't that supposed to increase once cgminer is running (a long time)?

I have asked Coinotron to add FC but he says that supporting this coin right now would require a lot of work. I completely understand what he is saying, as he already has his hands full. I am still working on changing his mind and I am sure we will see FC on Coinotron eventually.

Altpool.com still seems to have some issues but all coins mined are being honoured. Payments have to be done manually at the moment. I have asked viperaus to update me when he gets the site fully functional again so I can add it to the first post.

Throw some traffic to this stratum FC pool.. it has found blocks and paid out correctly.  You miners need to spread out a little!

Ugh, I was able to solve 8 blocks in 24 hours at the previous difficulty, now it's 0 blocks at 8 hours at the new difficulty.

3kh/s for 8 hours = .25 FC It's better than nothing I guess!

You are correctly solo mining. The difficulty is high enough that it may take a long time to solve a block. I would suggest joining the pool linked in below to mine.

http://fc.dontmine.me/

Ignore the mining tab in the GUI and use cgminer.

Quick question on the pool - on the manual cash out option, it says it charges a 0.1 ltc fee. I'm guess typo? Cheesy

Yes it is, it's 0.1 FC :-)

I found same amount it's charged by other FC pools. I also found same fee applies in case of very low amount payment from my wallet to another one. (0.03 FC). It says the 0.1 will go to nodes confirming transactions.

Yep, same with sending from your own wallet I think, I sent some ltc to btc-e to test how things work, and it ripped .2 (iirc) of a ltc off me for the pleasure. The litecoin wallet that is.

If it'd been a person I'd have been grumpy. but I refuse to get grumpy when my own software diddles me out of a few quid.. lol

Are you using the default miner?  You can get 50% more with pooler's miner.

Guys, for all of us wanting to help setup feathercoin.cc , create a faucet, create bounties, and more I have made us a thread to organise these things: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=181443.0

Let's do it  Grin

Also, I have added a petition to petition BTC-e to add FC:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=181431.0

There is currently a 20 000 FC bounty for the first exchange to support FC

20k fc - haha the guy at the top of the charts on dontmine makes that in less than 2 days. Wink

Off to sign. Already signed one petition, hopefully it's not the same one!

I just put my new mining machine on it, throwing about 900 Khash at it Cheesy
There is a miner in the one pool with over 36,000 khs  and about 10 miners ther with 10,000+

Indeed, I noticed them appear about the same time the pool started to have connection problems and wouldn't let me connect.

Feels a bit like I was walking in a park picking berries off a tree when along comes a bulldozer and clears up all the trees. lol

lmao, right? I went to bed not long ago, woke up to find my coins/day was nearly cut in half. Well, too bad I didn't get on this bandwagon sooner, and here is to hoping this makes it to BTC-E.

I have been using one Core i3 (1st gen) PC continuously and another intermittently (my trusty and rusty Radeon bit the dust while playing ME3  Tongue); and now I have 50+ coins (albeit with the aid of a couple of donations).

I have been using Cpuminer; and with a 64 bit Win 7 getting 16+ KHashes/s (the continuous PC uses 32 bit and generates 12-13 KHash/s). I am also using Altpool; as it seems to be giving me 4-5 times payout than any other!!

So do we have a wiki for feathercoin yet?  as these services go up, it'd be nice to have a place to look up pools, faucets, etc...  either in the OP of this thread, or a wiki somewhere.

Can't connect; getting that json retry thingy.

My poor CPU can't get a share on Simple Pool either. AltPool is still working great though.

What command are you using for your miner? I have tried numerous ones, and all seem to be working from my end
