Received a few PMs for CPU mining; so will just post here.

My two Core i3s have churned out some 20 FCs over the last 36 hours. I think the difficulty is supposed to increase soon so get in while you can.

I have been using Win 7 with AltPool, CPU Miner and Stratum. If you need help setting up the proxy go here https://give-me-ltc.com/faq#proxy
I am just using the wallet client to mine.

Happy mining Smiley

EDIT: Head over to grab the 5 FC giveaway. Also, if you are on BTC-e JustABitOfThough is giving out 20 FCs if you ask nicely.

I was the biggest fish on fc is a geek pool when I went to bed yesterday and total pool has rate was about 13 MH/s.
Same time today I'm somewhere between 5-8th and the pool has 65MH/s!
Also the difficulty has doubled :/

Glad I got in early and knocked off a bunch of coins but now back to LTC so I can pay for the power Smiley

For solo mining in the feathercoin.conf do we need the blockntime and blocknonce settings like litecoin?

I see people have gone mad about Feathercoin. (afraid, i might be one of them)

Why? Is this is all because everyone wants to try starting early with some coin? I can't see any other reason. FC is just a copy of Litecoin and basically has no chance being better. Why use it at all?

I'm mining @ http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com and keep getting:  "Pool 0 not providing work fast enough".
What could be the reason for that?

It is more abundant than Litecoin as it has four many coins. This is to make it compliment Litecoin and not directly compete with it like Litecoin does to Bitcoin. This is not a choice between Litecoin and FeatherCoin as you can have both. Currently I hold Bitcoin, Litecoin and Feathercoin. That is what everyones portfolio should look like Smiley

I am busy building services for FeatherCoin right now and will return afterwards to the codebase to continue working on the clients. Right now I am working full time on FeatherCoin.

Having more coins doesn't really make any difference.
This seems worthless and a waste of time. Like keeping in your wallet not only money but also plain rocks and bullets. Cheesy

Somehow i get a feeling that there ar more and more clone coins coming. Feathercoin's succes might be that it's an early clone.

But remember that you need to do some Vetting of each one if you going to send the money first.

Some alternatives are to send half first, less to loose Wink

Hey Guys - which pool is recommended to mine from?

Currently mining on mine.altpool.com - but the hashrate is only 50Mh/s atm, wondered if it's worth switching to fc.dontmine.me ? I have an account there and I know they have over half the network hashrate - will i actually gain anything by moving to a more popular pool?

Thanks

No I wouldn't switch.  The amount of FC you get won't change.  If you did switch the only advantage might be that you get your payouts a minute faster after you build them up (It is a PPLNS pool afterall).  But FC needs decentralization as much as possible in this early stage.  Even the guy that runs dontmine.me is recommending no one else mine at his pool right now for the sake of the coin.

In short:  No reason to switch, and it benefits the coin to stay where you are.

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.
