Once bitcoin tries to top $20k again, if not a few more times, maybe $25k..... the things that are propping up bitcoin is just going to fall to oblivion. I think there will be a crypto that overtakes bitcoin and becomes a relevant form of currency. Certainly not original bitcoin.

I am, seriously, going to bury a laminated copy somewhere on my land. And have smaller amounts also in my hidden home safe. (I have a visible decoy safe bought very cheap from Cina with some crap in it).
and now the internet knows all these things Hahahahahaha... I can see it now. Criminal: "Hey Arriemoller, your valuables or your life." Arriemoller: "Please, please, no, no, no.. don't take my life... .. o.k. I will take you to my safe. Here it is ... it is be called safe." Criminal: "Is this the "decoy safe" or the real one?" Arriemoller: "Of course this is the real safe. I want you to have all my valuables and not my life." Criminal: "O.k. i thought that I read somewhere...... " Arriemoller interrupts criminal, and: "you probably getting me mixed up with someone else, and you know peeps say all kinds of shit on the interwebs... Of course that is the real safe with real bitcoins and other cryptos available and even title to my yacht that I acquired from the appreciation of my many ETHs. Surely, I have no other safes in any of these places nor on my yacht.. and you can take the yacht, too." Criminal: "O.k. Your story seems quite plausible, and I have a high level of confidence that you are disclosing everything, and for that reason, I am even gonna leave you with your yacht and I will just take the total value of your crypto that is in this safe, which happens to be .003146BTC and 25.384 ETH, and that should be enough for me anyhow, since I am a modest kind of criminal, and I have modest material needs, too. Thank you very much, Arriemoller, you have been amongst the most cooperative of my crypto targets, and I thank you for making this whole robbing process easier for me." Arriemoller and Criminal do a "man hug" because no gay here, and then each goes their separate ways, which means the criminal leaves. I do NOT have ETH, but I do have a loaded pistol in a safe. Please let the robbers make me open that safe. that makes this hypothetical even more fun. Arriemoller: "Criminal, could you just stand right here, while I open my real safe, it is a spot that I reserve for criminals, and it just happens to be a trap, but never mind that." Criminal: "Oh, O.k. I am so glad that you thought this through in advance. You know most of my victims have no idea, and they have accidents with their bodily functions. This is so much more pleasurable for me, to come into a situation in which each of us have assigned spots." Arriemoller: "No problem, I have been waiting for this moment for years and years and years, so I am glad that you finally came and allowed me to test to make sure that everything works as planned." Criminal: "o.k." Criminal then stands in designated spot as requested by Arriemoller, and Arriemoller presses a "secret" button, but does not tell Criminal that he is going to push it. Criminal then falls through a trap door and is empaled by 256 swords. Criminal in his last living breaths: " you tricked me Arriemoller, you fucker. This robbery was not supposed to end like this." "256 swords" do you have any idea how expensive a sword is? I would just use those iron thingys you use to reinforce concrete.

You rent the box and it can't be opened without a court order.
OK... so you trust your banks and government and legal system, in a vastly socialist state. My condolences. Socialist? Sweden has always been a capitalist democratic country with due process and all that. I will allow you to be a step above Norway, maybe above Denmark. Not difficult, as some of the most socialist western countries. Is your schooling, healthcare, wellfare, transport government controlled? Do you pay taxes (all right, I know you pay among the highest in the world) Welcome to socialism, my friend. Actually no, they are all controlled by local councils or run privately. I think you Americans use the word socialist differently then we do. We use it in it's original meaning ( No democracy, everything owned by the state, private ownership not allowed, dictatorship, and so on). While you seem to glue that word on any high tax democracy with a welfare system.. Isn't that comunism? Yup, that's communism. Communism is a system of government. One party controlling the whole country. Socialism is about economic policy. Think of it as the opposite of capitalism. Socialism want's equal distribution of wealth among all, capitalism welcomes free enterprise and competition. Traditionally in the 20th century all communist countries were also socialist. But just look at China. It's a perfect example of a communist capitalist country. Nope, that's wrong, but I'm too tired to argue, let's continue on Sunday.

Hopefully you sharpen up those iron thingies sufficiently in order that they adequately pierce the corpus of criminal to make him(or her) a corpse. Some of these modern day cyber criminals are young, skinny and light and might be really malnourished, like less than 80 pounds. Think about Vitalik, for example, so you don't want the criminal to bounce off of your piercing metals. or to slip between the spaces.

this Coinomi is a phone thing?
don't tell me people are keeping real money on phones...
No, just bitcoins. It's non custodial, you have the seed. But still the phone/computer you are using it gets to know the seed from the very moment you input it. I meant the seed to the Coinomi wallet. But yes, when you scan your private key, the wallet gets that info, but how else would you sweep a wallet. You have to convert your private key at some point. Not if you are already using a hardware wallet. The private key never leaves it and the signature is done inside it and given to the computer to broadcast. That's its main advantage over any other solutions.

Bitcoin hasn't seen a good dump in ages. Look at these bigshot investor types with their sneaky partitioned 2000 coin buys and 100 coin walls. What do they think they're doing. They really think they can continue to hold up bitcoin like this. They think they have the float locked and everything is about these 20,000 coins on the exchanges. Just wait till the whales and the early adopters come with the sheer force of 100,000 or 2,000,000 coins hitting the market. They wont know what hit them.

It used to be that 900 individuals owned like half of all bitcoin in circulation.... What do you suppose that distribution is now?

You see a lot more of these Newsweek, Forbes, etc, big news station columnists writing bulltard stories of Bitcoin nowadays. Than you take a look at who the columnist is and it always turns out to be crypto enthusiasts that probably post on this forum, and invested themselves already.
These articles were actually a lot more genuine in the past, when the columnists brought up legit questions or simply admitted they didn't understand.

Direct democracy or pure democracy is a form of democracy in which people decide on policy initiatives directly. and decentralize it all

People keep talking about manipulation in USD markets but take a look at GDAX BTC/EUR. Who put up this sell wall and why? It's a 500k EUR sell wall all of a sudden, god dammit. No other market has such a big bump of resistance in its depth chart.

Buying and selling dash is not a taxable event for you? How is that? Well I understood you pay captial gains when there is a fiat gain in value at the time when you dispose it, ie sell it for fiat. I'm in the UK. I hope I got that right. If I have to proof every single trade between Dash and Bitcoin or whatever other crypto I don't know how on earth I could even start to do that Some exchanges I have used no longer even exist. I sympathise, in UK too. Since HMRC advice is so sketchy (it goes back to a vague 2014 reference effectively saying 'we will treat it all on a case-by-case basis') we are in the dark. I only cash out in BTC and only (originally) went in via BTC so, I am asking my accountant to simply list all fiat 'in' events and fiat 'out' events and hoping it will be just CGT. But be aware they can see it as 'badge of trade' and charge as though it was income if they think you're a trader. I am hoping if I cough up CGT and list only Bitcoin bought and sold and just pay up, they will accept it. If not, I will find others here in the same position and suggest we club together to get a QC to fight HMRC - as paying 45% income tax will be too much to let pass. I know you and I have different 'cryptos of choice' but we may end up in the same expensive boat, under the same threat of a massive tax bill. Odds on they will just take the CGT, but if not... Let's consider a fight - I think we can probably both afford to chip in for a legal case with others, which they won't have the staff or competence to want to bother with. Sometimes Dashheads and Moneroans can perhaps find common cause ;-) I was reading about an ultrapreneur tax that is flat 10%, you may need to pass a few ticks and go through some hoops in the year before to meet the conditions.
