Update 16 May 2018

Since we began exploring HATCoin, much has happened in the HAT and blockchain communities. It has now been decided that HATCoin will be postponed until the community size is large enough to revisit this initiative.

However, we still believe that the HAT Community should be stakeholders and shareholders of the HATDeX platform.  As such, we will be launching a crowd-funding initiative instead.

Please visit our crowd-funding site here.

I'm just loving the WO thread,
telling everyone, let the love spread.
All the cool guys wearing homers hats,
though some not, they're prolly nuts.

Related: Going on 6 days straight without a drop of alcohol.

Thinking of staying dry in Vegas over the weekend, for a change.

... and that's even with the price we're paying for VIP/bottle service for one of our club reservations this weekend. I'll just watch everyone else in our party get wrecked and stick to people-watching.

Can't remember a time I've been dry for this long.

Feels kinda good.

Know what I mean ?

The amount of Tether in circulation has dramatically fallen as people cash it in for USD.  I think that’s a cancellation transaction, reducing amount of Tether from 2 billion to 1.5 billion.

Edit:  https://tether.to/upcoming-usdt-redemption-october-24th-2018/

Edit 2:   Some people saying sensible thing would be for BFX to buy its own Tether at a discount and burn it - risk free profit for them @ 2.5 cents on every dollar.

This interpretation would have the bottom already in. I think it’s too early to call the bottom, but it’s possible that it is in.  But we are missing a high volume event to “seal” the bottom.  This make me think there is still one last crash event lurking out there.

Wow!  That's something!

I do know what you mean.  I am by no means anti beer/wine/whiskey, but I am old enough to have swollen my liver up with it, and see the difference when I quit drinking it.  I like it enough that I never want to be a slave to it.   But the further I go the more I realize that means not drinking all that much of it.

C'est la vie.  What's good for me might not be good for all... but I am glad to hear you are enjoying your dryness. Wink

Thinking about this some more, if you can take $500 million Tether out of circulation and the Bitcoin price doesn’t move a cent = Bitfinexed’s theories have just been proved completely false.

That’s our proof that the 2017 bull market was organic and not a Bitfinex Tether bubble.

Who knows.... Maybe it *WAS* somehow. I mean, if they were backing USDT with BTC (and other crypto) instead of actual USD in the bank that would have contributed to the raise.... and also to the dump when they had to sell that crypto to back Tether with actual USD.

Anyway, in that case, it contributed to both the pump and dump and it maybe its effect is neutral already.

Also we know when they revoke the tokens but not when they take them out of circulation (ie. rebuy/hold it themselves) so it's hard to time the exact moment in which it really happened.
