The monthly update: In April we saw more green, very pleasing. The work is done, some Satoshis have been accumulated. I'm out to enjoy a spring walk with my dearest. Enjoy the first of May, WOs! Scary. 3 green months in a row. So far happened only 6 times to have 4 or more months in a row. So guess what statistic propose us for May? before that we had 6 red months in a row for the first time. What does that tell us about statistics? I love statistic. Although it looks boring it never is. Oh and when i checked again I see was only 4 times. I wanted to say that 6 times is not that low. 4 times is semi low. It is highly unlikely to have 2 more months in green.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Fractional reserve has been working for banks for hundreds of years now, don't see why it can't for Finex. Even knowing what we know now people still hold their money there, it would take 75% of people to withdraw now for them to go belly up think and doesn't look like we're close to that happening, in fact they'd probably be "safe" running at 50% fractional reserve.
To clarify, my post was in reference to the cursive part. As I see it the real issue is with central banking, over the top tax rates and government wastefulness. Fractional reserve can work if done sensibly and not bailed out by the tax payer. It's no different from debt, which is a highly productive tool. Blasphemy. Partial reserve banking steals purchasing power -- and thereby wealth -- from the public at large, and concentrates it in the hands of the parasite banking class.

I am just curious how the sellers/shorters in Bitfinex are feeling these days. The numer and quantity of the shorts positions is high, and the longs are at the lowest since one year at least. Are these people still sane, or completely lost their mind and emotionally lost everything? For me all signs show that this exchange is dying.
Oh hell. Some of us have decried the scamminess of this particular dumpster fire since years.

What 'havoc' is this of which you speak?

Good morning everyone and May the First be with you. ------- The cloud is saying $5,309.21 but the fib is saying $5,310.82 for our resistance heading upwards. Not to shabby all things considered. 1h The majority of the market is following the trend and wants to continue higher. Stronghands are being more cautious and waiting for the hammer to fall from this tether fiasco, leaving the market in a state of flux. I cant imagine it lasting to much longer before it ruptures in one direction or another. #dyor 4h

CoinMarketCap to Remove Exchanges From Calculations If They Don’t Provide Mandatory DataCrypto market cap tracker CoinMarketCap (CMC) will remove exchanges from its calculations if they fail to provide mandatory data by June, the firm wrote in its sixth anniversary blog post on May 1.
CoinMarketCap, a major source of data about all traded digital currencies, has made a series of announcements to celebrate its sixth birthday today.
As such, CMC has announced a brand new alliance called the Data Accountability & Transparency Alliance (DATA) in order to provide “greater transparency, accountability, and disclosure from projects in the crypto space.” https://cointelegraph.com/news/coinmarketcap-to-remove-exchanges-from-calculations-if-they-dont-provide-mandatory-data
